Worst experience Ive had in a long time. I specifically told the tech I would be on Colorado RIver for 8 days and coverage was critical. Tried more than 100 times to make calls and 4 went through, longest of which stayed connected 30 seconds. The Iridium satellite phone sucks: Bad reception, hard to get onto the network to call, you use more minutes calling back and trying to understand what is being said than you have good minutes. Stay away from the Iridium system. We also had a Starlink system with us which my daughter had obtained from another provider: Absolutely excellent. this experience was a complete disaster and ruined my vacation. I paid almost $900 to rent a battery pack, solar panel, and mini starlink. First they sent me stuff that could not be connected to one another. They rectified this by having me pick up the "correct" solar panel on my way out of town. This did still not result into the promise they made that I could work from the great outdoors. even with a fully charged battery I was only able to be online for 3 hours. I had to drive an hour to the next town every workday to work and charge up the battery with a plug as the solar panel did not deliver sufficient energy. As if that was. or bad enough, when I complained, they created a ticket but essentially just ghosted me. Go spend your money somewhere else! read more

Absolutely EPIC! We rented a StarLink for our outdoor event for our church. We got 150MBps without even trying. We ran 8 computers with a cloud-based name tag / check-ins system flawlessly. Next year, we intend to broadcast/livestream this same event on the same network we'll create with the StarLink. They also made the process very easy. Nice Pelican case with everything in there. Avoid at all Costs!! Placed order for a "User Replaceable Battery" as stated on their web site. No where on the website it detailed anything about needing a core to be sent in for a service, vice a new battery being sold as advertised as "in stock" on their website. Funds sent /processed, no response for 12 days. Then another 12 days later, without notice, they decided to charge my bank account again with a small fee for verification. Which really doesn't make any sense since they already had taken a large amount from that same account. After numerous back and forth emails (beating a dead horse/pulling teeth with responses that had no relevant explanation to falsely advertising the item), they stated they would refund, but never did. To this day, still no refund. Forced me to file a case with funding institution. They spent more time arguing with customer than updating their web site (still not updated). Most likely they prefer to do the same to willing customers as much as they can. Don't reward this fraudulent behavior, avoid at ALL costs, even spend more on same item with their competitor. Too good to be true. I researched the Starlink devices and got feedback from multiple people in my area who said the Starlink replaced their local wireless carrier. My goal was to cancel my local wireless and use the Starlink as my wireless option at home and also use it for portability while in the mountains or at the river. I described my usage, # of devices, # of users in the household and my business usage as I work from home. I was assured by the salesperson that I would be just fine with the 500 GB plan that ran about $150 per month. Low and behold it was not true. I blew through my 500GB data plan in less than three weeks and then the charges really started piling up. Bottom line, I would need to buy the 1TB plan for $300 a month for this to work. That doesn't work. Additionally, the Starlink buffered when I was running zoom calls and it would cut in and out. Be very careful with this company and understand exactly what you're getting in to. I paid out my equipment and cancelled the contract. Extremely disappointed. read more

HORRIBLE COMPANY!!! They are scammers. They told me there was a 30 day return policy if we weren't happy with the service. First of all the equipment came in terrible packing conditions. Then when I called to cancel the service on the same day, they said I had to pay to ship it back. That cost us $99.93. I reached out once the equipment was delivered to see about my refund, and they would never reply. I disputed the charge to my credit card company. First they told my credit card company that they didn't receive it. I supplied the tracking numbers to my card company. They reached back out to them since the equipment had been delivered, and this horrible company then went on to tell them that the equipment was returned not in the same condition!!!! I boxed it back up in the crappy packaging it was delivered in. They then supplied the invoice that I signed for the contract but said no where that there was a 30 day grace to cancel. I'm taking this to the BBB and talking to a lawyer. After their response from customer service, they are definitely full of crap. They charged me $312 and I haven't received a penny back even after I sent it back in the crappy boxes they shipped it to me in. I emailed them the day the product show delivered through UPS about my refund and they never even replied!!! But they'll post on my review. I've already filed with the BBB and will continue to fight this. The employee that told me I could cancel the service and be refunded obviously needs additional training. In the past, I've rented a sat phone from the Satellite Phone Store and did not have any issues. Their customer service was great and the sat phone worked. The price was a little high, but when you are off the grid; you need a sat phone. However, I had problems with my most recent rental. On arrival, I checked both batteries and they were not fully charged. After charging them, I headed out on my annual expedition. After reaching my destination, the sat phone had problems connecting. When it did connect, it would drop the call. I repeatedly got the automated message. I was 60 miles out in the middle of nowhere with no cell service and unable to communicate with the sat phone I rented. The sat phone appeared to be an older model. Perhaps they need a newer one...? I requested a refund and I'm waiting for a response. read more

I would highly recomment the Satellite Phone Store's sat phone rental program for anyone needing coverage in remote areas. However, make sure you go over the final cost with the sales rep. I bought a new phone so when I'm out in nowhere Nevada I'd have communications, which I do and the phone works great. I had to call the tech people a couple times when I first got the phone to help me set up the voice mail. They were very helpful, friendly, patient and thorough. I appreciate that. I did find however there is one place the phone does not work in Nevada, and that is anywhere close to Area 51. We were traveling through Alaska, the Yukon, and British Columbia and cell service is slim to none in most places along the Alaska Highway and the Cassiar Highway. The purpose for the satellite phone was for emergencies from us to others and others to us. Fortunately we didn't have to use it, but we tested it in a couple of places along the way, and it was perfect for the job. We rented the phone from the Anchorage AK office, and Ken was a huge help and very pleasant to work with. They provided the return label for the free return via FedEx, and it was all seamless. I own a small generator / solar company and was in need of a couple of Ecoflow generator adaptors. I had already ordered some from other companies and weka later I was told they were out of stock. So I began to call everyone on the internet and came across Satellite Phone Store and seen they had these adaptors in stock. I called to verify that they were in stock and spoke with Bruce or a Brian and he said he walked into the warehouse and confirmed there were in fact 3 of them. Soon as he said they were there, I hit the order button and ordered 2 of them while I was on the phone with him . This was 6-19 and today being 6-24 I called the company and spoke with and when I asked her about the status of my order because I still hadn't received a tracking number she said they were out of stock and wouldn't be in until tomorrow. if you want to be lied to use this company. if you don't want to be lied to, use a different company. look at the reviews online. It's a great cellphone. I was in remote region in the Philippines in the mountains and traveling island to island. Calls were crystal clear. Only drawback is it doesn't have a USB cord that could plug into outlets at airports, computers or an other USB outlet station. ButI did get an older model before USB was invented. The Sat Store did a good job of getting the phone to me at the last minute, Unfortunately the sat phone did not work in the Grand Canyon except for the last day of a 7 day trip. For the first 6 days on the river the sat phone wouldn't connect with any satellites and when it did it would shutdown and reset. The last day on the river I was able to get out with 3 brief phone calls . River guides recommend a text only sat phone and do not recommend Iridium. read more

This review is for 2 times that I rented for 1 week from the Anchorage Alaska store. Super easy - 1) call the Anchorage store and get a quote for your desired rental period (when, days, weeks, etc.) plus your desired pre-paid usage minutes, (in 30-minute blocks plus $2USD for every minute over) I paid $140 for 1 week rental with 30 minutes prepaid. Another time I paid $150 for 1 week rental with 60 minutes prepaid. These prices are competitive with other Alaska providers. 2) Give them your credit card number. You will be charged immediately. You will immediately receive emails with links to confirm the transaction. 3) Schedule a pick-up time. Ben at the Anchorage store will give you a demo. The phones are very easy to use. They come in a water-resistant hard case with 2 full batteries and ACDC charger with cord. 4) Pick up your satphone and enjoy your adventure. 5) When done, call the Anchorage store and schedule a return time. Beware that talking on a satphone is not as clear as talking on a land/cell phone, both parties sound drunk and there is a delay. Also beware that during peak season (hunting, fishing), satphones may not be available. read more
