Cox holds a monopoly on the market, it's its evident in their customer service, financials and ISP services. No one in the valley wants to use Century Link but competition is coming. The days of this company being the reigning ISP are coming to an end. For 18 months I have been cheated out of my money. Using Cox's 500MBps Ultimate Plan with Unlimited Data (paying double because they can make you) my bill comes to around $160.00 per month. I have asked for techs to come out multiple times and they haven't had an explanation for the spotty Internet. They said I should upgrade to the panoramic Wi-Fi and I did. The panoramic Wi-Fi did nothing but add onto my bill. Big win for them again. After two months of tracking my internet speeds I've found that on a plan that promises 500mbps downloads speeds I have been averaging 33.5mbps. Finally after almost two year they figured out it might be a cable issue that they can replace outside my home. This is something they knowingly did not replace prior to taking my money for services (or lack of service lol). This is 18 months of them abusing their contract promises to me. Today I spent 4 hours on the phone while they played monkey in the middle with me. End conclusion is "you had a signal, we can't credit or refund you". These people are brutal. Wait for big cellular ISPs to hit the market. Don't sign up for cox, they don't care. Remember, if you have 1mbps $160.00 a month if correct. Remarkably poor internet service! I pay for gigablast that fluctuates between 85-540 Mbs (NEVER HIGHER) and it interrupts really often, like several times per day, for 30-90 seconds. I resort to my phone's mobile hotspot and it is faster. Got tire of renting for their whole home wifi modem so I bought Arris' top-rated best cable modem - this did not help. Oh, and when I call to ask a what the hell is wrong, they do everything they can we their remarkably lame phone system to go to the remarkably lame AI chat on their website. It feels like I am being gaslighted worse than the Pinocchio network news - ala we have no problem on our end... these aren't the droids you're looking for... carry on, all is well. Unfortunately, I've had to visit this store more frequently than I want. My visits nearly always involve replacing my primary Contour box because of problems with the DVR. Yes, the high failure rate with DVRs in our Contour cable boxes is frustrating. While that's a problem for Cox to fix, store staff didn't cause it. Employees at this store have always provided me with efficient service. I'm very appreciative of the staff and their service...just wish Cox equipment was as reliable as their store staff. read more

As an essential employee we just got internet in the house. I know......we had not had internet....for about 8 years. Just have the basic internet package slowest speed it only 30 a month. We aren't heavy users obviously if we have lived without it for 8 years. Since my husband had to work from home the offer for essential personnel was a perfect fit. Customer service is very bad. Be wary on undisclosed charges. I had internet set up with cox and I was told that I can do self install, turns out that they never gave me access to do self install requiring me to use the pro install service and changed me $120 for the services when all they had to do was activate my account. When you try and call customer service, wait times are very long. The online chat help feature is also very slow. Agents at this store are amazingly helpful, very kind. However, the signal in the area for contour TV keeps cutting out for a second then back in. Lost guide totally for three days on one box which will no longer connect at all. Changed box out once via store, new one doesn't work, obviously signal it equipment issue. Bedroom contour cable box is working perfectly. Although today it cut out, it reset on it's own including guide loaded properly. I'm sure tomorrow when the tech arrives, he'll say it's a connector or in house wiring. Not accepting that as trouble shooting requires you asked what's changed and all that was fine 3 days ago. Frustrating! Don't know how the agents deal so kindly with people plagued by poor equipment, software and/or signal issues. I prefer over the air tv, netflix, roku, etc. But at 84, my dad deserves reliable cable tv for his money. read more

I am as shocked as you, but I have to comment about my recent trip to this store. My modem has been slow for a while and I have frequently complained to myself and to my wife (she doesn't like that). When I have attempted to chat online with Cox it has been worthless. Long waits and they must handle 2-3 people at a time because the response time in between replies in too long. At the end of my chat the guy said I could update to the latest model for only $20 one time charge, $13 more a month (which I said I was already being charged too much), and a $50 deposit. No thank you. The next day I remember he said in the conversation I could go to a store, so I found this one. There were four people in front of me so I expected a long wait. It was during lunch time. Instantly all customers ahead me were called and I was next. I asked the rep if I could upgrade my modem. She asked for my addressed, typed it in, and said she would be right back. Seconds later - not minutes, seconds later, she returned with a box and walked toward the front of the door. I followed. Do I need to sign anything?, I asked. No, she replied. "Do I have to pay something?" Again, "No." She opened the door, handed me the box, said to bring the old one back in 13 days, and thanked me for coming. I wasn't there more than five minutes, I got what I came after, and I was able to install it quickly all during long. I was very pleased with the young lady's service and she rebounded the company's impression I had after my internet chat. read more

They have a great system set up for waiting (adding your name on a list from a tablet and waiting until called on). Cox performed a service call at my neighbor's house while I was not home. The technician used my front yard as their work space. They dug in my yard, did the work for the neighbor, and then did not fill in the digging and left two loops of exposed conduit coming from the ground as a tripping hazard. This is irresponsible, sloppy, and is a huge injury liability issue. Cox is unable or unwilling to provide status to me on a resolution. read more

My review is not for this Cox location, but for the service, or lack thereof, provided to your customers. Your representatives over the phone have no communication skills whatsoever. I'm sick of paying an outrageous bill for there to be NO SERVICE! They won't credit you over the phone if there is an "outage" and direct you to call back once the outage has cleared so they know how much to credit you depending on the outage time. Newsflash, for my family, and others in my neighborhood, we have 4-5 outages a DAY! I would have to quit my job to sit on the phone 4-5 times a day waiting for a representative for them to tell me "it is showing an outage in your neighborhood" or that the speeds have "slowed down due to an influx in web traffic due to Covid." It's been over a YEAR since we were hit with Covid. Get your act together and figure it out guys! We've been with you for over 30 years and there's just no excuse for the blatant disregard for your clients! read more

WARNING!!! Cox Communication is a bunch of thieves and is a dishonest company. I was supposed to have Internet installed on my New Build house on May 9th 2022, They sent a contractor out for the install. I never knew he came or left until after I called to see if they were still coming. Here is the fun part. Contractor submits ticket as unable to pull the wire to install. So after reaching out to builder, they assured me line is fine to be pulled. Cox send new Rep out and completes my install on 5-21-2022. Perfect. HOWEVER....I am now being billed as my install was COMPLETED on 5-9-22, and they hit me up for a $200 non-returned Equipment fee. They said i need to return it to the store. The contractor said he completed project and left me a modem. What a bunch of damn crooks. Like why they would leave anything if they can't do the install, why would I have another guy come out 5-21-22 to install again. I get to get calls and text messages now for this shitty equipment charge now, since they won't remove it....Well COX you POS thieves !!!! You S#@K!!!!!! read more

I would have given a 5 star except for the annoying sign in pad they want you to use when you first walk in. Maybe it's a way to track customers or just crowd control. Either way it's annoying. Solutions Specialists Jacob and Chris as well as Manager Matthew did a great job describing my various wireless internet and cable tv options. Though I really had no interest in the home security accessory -- which in retrospect seems to have considerable value to me, I signed up for it anyway as part of a promotional 'net/cable bundle to save a substantial amount of money. Trying to fully understand all the essential financial and legal agreements as well as setting up accounts with multiple passwords, arranging emergency contacts, learning system troubleshooting procedures, etc., isn't exactly a "day at Disney." But I guess that's the price you pay for what I'm confident will prove to be quality products and services at a reasonable price! The rather complicated installation of leading-edge technology was done this morning -- fast, right, and with a smile. Jared, Pablo, and Chris were highly knowledgeable, friendly, and patient as they thoroughly explained how to optimally use the main features of the various equipment pieces. (Even giving me their direct line to call should I have any questions in the future.) This is the BEST experience I've ever had for a professional home setup on anything! Initially, all systems seem to be running extremely well. As a scientist, however; I need to wait awhile to satisfy myself about the capability and reliability of everything. So look for a followup review down the road! Last but certainly not least, several years ago I had the pleasure of meeting one of the Cox executives at a product unveiling event. While we were discussing my internet and cable requirements/concerns, his aide came up to inform him that a baseball hall-of-fame celebrity guest was waiting on stage. The exec said, "I'll be there in a few minutes. Right now I'm doing something even more important: listening to a potential customer. Which made up my mind then and there that I would someday do business with this fine company. Well today I finally have. This locations staff was really friendly, thus this review is about the service. The service and customer support on the phone is god awful. I jumped ship to Direct tv and got twice the channels two HD/DVR's plus in home sharing for recorded shows on multiple televisions and am still saving money. Unfortunately I did not want the hassle of changing emails so i went ahead and kept that service, but with the new increase I am probably out. They treat customers like dirt, but what do you expect form a company with little to no competition. Also, The tech they sent out to install the new cable line for internet in my new home spent 30 minutes bashing my choice of direct TV and informing me how much better cox was. my fiance and I were blown away by how brazen the tech went about doing this, given the Direct TV techs had just left and did not say one bad word about cox of inquiring why we had switched. read more

I have been with Cox for 8 years and would never recommend them to any one unless they absolutely must have a cable connection - Cox is the worse in customer service, they jack up their prices because they are the ONLY cable company in the valley and they recently have had outages for unexplained reasons. Last month's outage lasted 3 days - THREE DAYS! And when you called to find out what was wrong you would get a "sorry we are experiencing higher than normal call volumes and will be unable to answer your call." *click* {-- the sound of Cox's automated message hanging up on you. Avoid at all costs if you can. There is no redeeming quality at this time that makes them worth the horrible customer service and intermittent service. read more

I have been a Cox customer since 1996. That's fifteen years of paying them each and every month. Finally I decided to give DirecTV a try, though I kept my broadband with Cox. Through the years there have been ups and downs in their service, but not unlike any other big semi-monopoly. Then, after getting rid of cable television, I went into this "digital store" to return their equipment--cable boxes and remotes etc. What I did not realize was that my DirecTV Internet interface box had been placed with all of the Cox equipment. I just dropped the box and went home, discovering the error later that day, after the retail store had closed. I called Cox and was told there was no way to call the store directly. They told me they would email the person that waited on me as well as the manager. They would call me right back and set the DirecTV part aside for me to pick up later. You see where this is going. No call the next day, or the day after or the day after. I finally had a chance to get back down to their store during retail hours and they acted like they had never heard of this. The guy went to the back room for a few minutes to make a show of searching for it, but came back emptry. So sorry, we just threw way (or otherwise lost) this $80 part of yours. Sure, my fault for putting in with the Cox stuff. But after all of my years in retail, and all of the effort I put into tracking down customers that left items in my stores over those years, I felt the Cox's reaction to this business was just terrible and exactly what I would expect these days from a company that has grown too large. read more

Like the rest of the Buffoons in this company, the store did nothing that the techs I spoke to the night before to told me to make sure happened. They pointed out a mac address and told me it was the password to access the modem. They had no idea what to do with me when I brought my modem in for an exchange. Took a long time to convince them I was not canceling. Been with Cox 21 years and they charged me $50. for an install when I moved. I know, 21 years with no other options for service. The installer cut the direct TV cables because it was easier and faster to for him to install. I assume I now have to pay for DirectV to install. Installer left about 15 feet of cable hanging out of the wall (not the room the modem is in) and ran the cable under the outlet cover rather than feeding the cable through. That would have required a new fitting. Overall, if you have any possible option to go with other than Cox do it. Really. read more

This review is not for the store, it is for Cox in general. I called customer service today 8/5/2020. I immediately starting crying and apologizing to the lady who was helping me. I was overwhelmed with my 2 kids, 3 dogs, staying at home, and major anxiety about virtually learning. I needed to upgrad my internet ASAP because my kkds needed to be present on there labtops. I just couldn't control my sobbing. This women was absolutely so kind, caring and generous with her time. When she was done she said, " your internet is all set your good to go but we can stay on the call and you can just let it all out." She is a stranger and completely walked me through my difficult time this morning. I dont know her but if corporate finds her please let her name she helped my internet problem and helped me walk back into my house with out crying and I was able to get through the day. DO NOT GET COX PHONE SERVICE. We were sweet talked into changing our Century Link phone service to Cox Phone service. The clueless tech fiddles with our phone for ninety minutes installing a huge phone modem in addition to our basic cable modem, screws up our fax machine, and has our phone number switched off. When I had enough of his shenanigans and asked him to leave, he and his supervisor I demanded he call refused to have our basic phone service resumed. We are now without any phone service at all, and our business fax does not work. DO NOT GET COX PHONE SERVICE. read more

Idiots! Excuse after excuse! My internet service does not work! 2 person household, non gamers, 1500sf house and can't get a decent internet connection. Cox says I need to upgrade for $19 more....okay fine! Still doesn't work! Now I need a new modem for $5/month more....okay fine! So we go to pick it up and they give me the exact same modem! So then I call and they say they are a shipping me the new (upgraded) one. Few days later, turns out they never shipped it! We go to pick it up and now they say I it won't work in my area. The condescending POS employee could care less and blames it on "technology". Are you kidding me?!!! Give me a break! Nice answer! I hate the company! The wireless router I rent from Cox was getting flaky, so I packed it up and headed over to this location to get it replaced. There were tons of staff to help, they didn't ask me a bunch of questions, and I was in and out with a new wireless router in literally, 3 minutes. Great experience, particularly compared to Comcast, where I almost killed myself once. read more

I do not recommend cox at all! We signed a contract may 2019 and had cable on two tv's. And internet. We weren't told we only had a certain amount of internet to use per month then anything over would be extra. If I would of known I wouldn't of agreed to that. Anyways we were told our bill would be a hundred twenty something... then with all the extras it was a lot more. They said we could add more internet & do unlimited for and extra $50 a month. We agreed because we have a large family and needed more internet even though they failed to mention we didn't have that in the first place. So then our bill should have been @ a hundred seventy nope it was @ $180 so we dropped a tv and now only have one tv with cable. Was told our bill would go down @ $30... no again they lied, it went down maybe $10. Then a couple months ago it went back up to almost 180, I called and they said taxes and fees went up. Never mind we're in a damn contract... now the last two months again went up, now $191 for one tv and internet. I can't wait till this may, we're switching providers! Do NOT get cox!! This review is not about the store but about the product and customer service over the phone. I'd pleased to say as of today I know longer have internet and cable with this company, and ditched Homelife a few years back. Had no issues with cable, other then it being expensive and the company not offering any promotions when it ran out. Was paying $180 for both internet and cable. The internet was horrible, network lost every 10 minutes. Called 800 number and said that everything was good on their end and offered no solutions, didn't mention providing a tech to come out, a new modem since mine was 4 years old. They have an updated modem which I brought up but the employee didn't want to talk about it. My modem would heat up very hot and feel that was the issue but they didn't care. Went with YoutubeTV and Centurylink and am very pleased, it's actually way better and way less money, so thanks. read more
