We have been customers of COX INTERNET for over 20 years. We had storm damage that caused damage to the internet wire connected to the house. We texted and got a service call scheduled late in the day between 5 -6:30 pm. We got a text that the service person would be at our home at about 5:13 pm. We immediately went outside to help him get to the wire. He never showed. Got a text that the service was canceled. Can't call and get help unless you want to hold for over an hour. So we have to text with a "live" agent. Asked why the service had been canceled. Told because the tech knocked and didn't get an answer and called and didn't get an answer. TOTAL LIE!! No calls on our call list. No one came to our door. We were out there waiting before he was to arrive. The description given of our home was totally wrong. They had got thru to us with texts, but no texts from tech received. No calls. No showing up at our home. What did they do to help us? We have to wait 2 more days without internet. Maybe the tech will show up. BUT they wanted us to upgrade our plan for a more costly one! This was their offer!! We're looking for a new internet provider! COX SOLD TO SPECTRUM. Spectrum gets a 1.5 star rating from its customers! Thanks a lot, COX, for selling us out!! read more

This is a broader review that goes far beyond a single Cox location. Cox is one of the worst companies I've dealt with. Their customer service is beyond terrible. My bill increased again and is now $295/month for internet, phone, and cable. When I called to discuss it, I was given the runaround, had calls dropped, and ultimately wasted several hours with zero resolution. I then emailed and was met with more obstacles. They refused to assist or escalate my issue unless I verified my account via text message, despite me providing all other requested information. I eventually received a corporate contact, which hasn't been much better. It's been days with no response. It's clear they don't value their customers. Several friends have already left Cox, and I'm about to join them. Do yourself a favor and choose another provider. Google Fiber and a streaming service will save you money and frustration. read more

My bill jumped up from $80 to $200. When asked for an explanation they informed the price jump was due to a promotion that they had two years ago but has since ended so now I'm stuck with a bill over DOUBLE what it was. When I asked about other plans they had available that could be more affordable they spent the next hour trying to bundle my phone bill with them instead of focusing on the internet bill itself. Between that and shotty internet (had 5 outages in the past month that they said they could discount $6 on for my next bill...) I was prepared to switch to a different provider. They ended up getting the $80 rate back in place so after 5 offers and an hour and a half of my time they decided to get back to their original rate. So after all that effort, they decided not to up my rate with a sneaky rate change they had planted. Good job Cox, someone should get you a fricken medal read more

I canceled my account last month and now they are charging me 3x my monthly bill and will only take off $40 and want me to pay the rest.

I had to come to this Cox store to return equipment after cancelling my service with Cox. It used to be that you could just ship the equipment back to them, but now you are required to return the equipment to the nearest Cox store. The store was okay and I was able to return the equipment. Just done with Cox service - terrible provider and when you call up to cancel, they miraculously can provide you with a discount on your bill. read more

This is an amazing place. Never had I had better service either in person or by phone. Highly suggest stopping here if you need any mobile or ISP help with existing or new service. Cox communications is a NO. Find a different provider. The internet goes out daily if you're running more than 1 device. Dont bother upgrading speeds because it doesn't change anything just charge you more. Phone representatives will send someone out but the problem is NEVER fixed. I've been stuck using them for years because most Tempe/ Mesa apartments only use them but I'm so glad to be moving out of state and never use this company again. If you can find someone else, Do it. Full disclosure: I am not a fan of Cox by any means, primarily due to pricing. I have already reviewed the primary Cox business location regarding this, and it was not a pretty picture to say the least. Having said this, I went to this location to return the equipment I had. Now I have been into Cox locations before to deal with equipment returns and the other location was super ghetto, busy and not user friendly at all with super rude employees. This location was a pleasant surprise to say the least. Well lit and laid out. It was like walking into an Apple store. There were plenty of people there to help out, and no wait at all. I was in and out in no time, without any difficulty in returning their gear. The gentleman was pleasant and aside from asking me why I was dropping their service did not try a hard sell to get me to keep them as a provider which I appreciated. If you have to go into a Cox store this is definitely the one to go to. read more

This store was amazingly fast and swapped my modem out with no hassles in 5 min. I highly recommend going into the local store instead of sitting on cox's global support chat from another country that took over 20 min and couldn't even pull up my account. They are obviously running 20+ chat windows at once and do not provide good service. American companies should only provide American's jobs. read more

Stopped in to pick up equipment after setting up wi-fi service. There was a employee at the door with a tablet. He asked my name and what I was there for. I told him I was there to.pick up equipment and he looked up my account, went to the back to grab the equipment and I was in my way. To whom it may concern, Over a month ago, I entered into an agreement with Cox Communications to have internet service installed at my residence. My experience with the company since then has been nothing short of a disaster, and I am compelled to share the details of this incredibly frustrating situation. Initially, Cox sent a technician to our house to install the internet. Upon arrival, the technician realized that someone else was needed to flush the line. Though this was an unexpected delay, we were willing to be patient. However, the technician left us in limbo, failing to update us on when the line would be flushed or when the installation could be completed. Since that day, we have called Cox Communications every three days for over a month, and nobody seems to know what is going on with our account. Communication has been non-existent. We have not received any follow-up calls or information to help us understand when our service will be installed. Furthermore, I must highlight an appalling incident that occurred during an online chat with a Cox representative. This individual referred to me as an "Idiot." I have retained the official transcripts of this conversation as evidence of this completely unprofessional conduct. We have paid for a service that has not been delivered. We have been treated with disrespect and disregard. This is, without a doubt, the worst experience we have ever had with any company. It is my hope that this review serves as a warning to others considering doing business with Cox Communications. We are left with no other choice but to escalate this matter. Along with filing this complaint with the BBB, we will be taking our grievances to the FTC, the Attorney General's Office, and leaving reviews on Google, Yelp, and Facebook. Cox transferred my email accounts to Yahoo without notice. The transfer locked up, and I've been wondering what important emails I've missed in the last week or so. Been a Cox customer for 30 years. I went to this location during the height of the pandemic. Why? Well, with kids at home, online school, working from home and binge-watching various streaming services, we were blowing through our monthly data limit within 2-3 weeks and had to make a change. Sadly, this wasn't something that could be done online. (Arguably, there is A LOT of room for improvement there, but this is a review of the location and service here) They were enforcing social distancing (as much as anywhere, really: providing distanced spots on the floor and guidelines for the maximum number of customers in the shop at a time) and the employees were masked up, behind plexiglass partitions... the place was under construction at the time, but they were making the best of the situation. I waited my turn then took my spot at a station. I explained the situation and Anita gave me some suggestions. I asked some more questions, picked an option that I thought would work for us and got the ball rolling on my upgrade/change -- for about the same price that I was currently paying. It did take a couple of months to get a tech out to make the change to the hardware (COVID-19... and we had an old plan, old gear, etc. and required more than just a simple plan update), but it eventually worked out... mostly. I'm still working through a misunderstanding with their billing system regarding the word "unlimited," but once I get a human, they fix it pretty fast. 1 Star because -3 Stars isn't an option. Cox has, by far, the WORST customer service and billing in the industry. My parents had COX for years and my Dad always hoped they would get better but they never did. He was constantly on the phone with billing as they added charges and then blamed him for their error. They just did the same to me. When I started to care for my disabled mother, I dumped COX and went to CenturyLink. Wow.... CenturyLink has the absolute worst product. Great price and decent customer service but the phone sounded like you were talking through a tin can attached to a string. The internet was adequate, when it functioned. Having to rely on the internet for work, I reluctantly switched back to COX. I knew then that the service was good but that I would be dealing with billing phone calls EVERY cycle. I have all our bills paid through BofA Bill Pay and for the most part they are pretty accurate. Noticing that a payment may have went missing, I contacted BofA to stop pay that payment. Then I went online and paid COX directly so as to avoid a late fee. Next, I contacted COX, knowing this was probably to difficult for them to figure out without guidance, to advise not to process the check as it will not pay. They did anyway, of course. Then, the next bill cycle they mischarged me again. (No surprise there). Now, in the Feb bill, I'm not only being charged the amount I was mischarged the month prior, as a "Returned Payment Fee", but an additional Returned Payment Fee for the payment I cancelled then warned them not to post. During this conversation, the female supervisor on the phone stated it was all my fault. After all, had I not sent the bank payment in the first place none of this would have happened. My attorney says its not worth the hassle and suggested I look into Elon Musk's new satellite service. Sadly, Starlink is stuck in development with delay after delay and wont even be available in my area until late '22 early '23. Just noticed a new 5G repeater was installed on my block last week. Is it possible? A solution has presented itself!?! Where do I begin... Frequent TV outages -- as in daily. Frequent internet signal drop-outs, as in daily, which sucks horribly since I work off of a virtual workstation. A few times recently I had to work late to make up for the time lost. The DVR is not a real DVR, so even when they can't broadcast anything, you can't even watch something you recorded. Had a big issue requalifying for the ACP discount. Went 4x to this cox store & called the ACP people 2x. I just kept getting told nobody could help me & call the other number. Eventually on trip #5 I was greeted by customer service rep ERIN. She patiently listened to my long explanation. Then using the documentation I had with me took care of my issue and had my price reduction applied for another year in just a few minutes. While the other 4 Cox employees were very friendly, I got 4 different answers & no solution to my problem. I have had my issues and complaints about Cox, but this experience on this day was superior. My wife and I have had some ongoing issues with our internet service as well as the reliability of the TV service. We took 3 remotes with us and walked into this location and met Maribel. I was skeptical at the beginning of our conversation, but after she talked us through the issues we were having I was convinced we had stopped at the right place. When we were done we added panoramic WIFI and a maintenance plan. Maribel also scheduled a technician to come by the following day - I thought I wouldn't need it. I was wrong! We walked out of the store with all new equipment for the house and a bill that was less per month than we were paying....how often can you say that? I was able to get everything connected with the exception of one of our televisions. As it turns out, we had more than a internet and TV issue, we had some outdated equipment outside as well as some connective issues inside the house. The technician (who's name I don't remember) was excellent! I know that a lot of people have issues with COX, even I. With that said, individual customer service and the friendly environment certainly makes up the difference. Thanks Maribel so much for your attention, help and humor. You are a keeper! read more

I had the unfortunate pleasure to be hung up on multiple times when trying to get in contact with Cox internet. This has happened when I reported outages, and eventually, when I tried to disconnect the service as well. The head ache of trying to make the product work wasn't worth it, and it really wasn't my job to make their internet work to begin with. Good luck to everyone with Cox. Cox Sucks!!!! They promise me to move out cable box from middle of our driveway and relocate where other utility hooks up a few feet away, if we signed up for service. We signed up and they didn't move it. Matter of fact, we are directly across from our neighborhood mailboxes where everyone turns around in front of our house and the box was hit and it has been hit more than once. They came out and put an even bigger post in now and want to charge us $2500 to move it. The maintenance worker although we pointed out the problem when came to fix it was rude and actually mad at us. Don't pay more for worse service. After about two minutes he says something that was unintelligible, and I turned slightly to see if he was addressing me! I immediately got the impression that he was less-than-enthused to have to stope his personal endeavor and address my needs. Very poorly trained personnel at the Mesa store, and it can make someone wonder if the service they are selling is any better! It doesn't cost any more to hire people who actually take their job seriously, and strive to make a visit to their store a pleasant one. read more

Called Cox twenty minutes wait, said we needed box, drov40 miles, got new box, worked for20 minutes, screen went blank. Called Cox set up appt for tech next day, just before appt.
