We had to bring our equipment into a physical store with our ID to cancel. The Santee location is in a plaza with plenty of parking. The store itself is spacious and bright. I went in to cancel my home internet due to an upcoming move. Called the call center, tried to cancel, Filipinos that barely speaks English just wasted my time. Worthless people. Walked in, the workers were all chilling talking and watching football, Ahmed saw me and approached me right away. He asked what I was looking for, told him I needed to cancel my service. My husband and I went in to discuss some concerns and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The representative we dealt with, Melly, was unhelpful and displayed poor customer service. Frankly, it was surprising to see this level of treatment in a role that's meant to serve customers. I strongly encourage better training and accountability for staff in your retail locations. What a rip off. $95 a month for a two year contract and it doesn't even include unlimited data for home internet. We had cox many years ago, until we moved and switched to ATT, because cox was so expensive. We are moving and I was looking to switch back because they had 1GB speed. When we went into the store they asked if we wanted additional data - because it wasn't unlimited. We use streaming for TV and so they said we would need to purchase additional data for another $50 a month. What a joke. So if you want fast internet, but not very much of it, go with Cox. I want to start by saying the 5 stars are for matthew and ahmed, cox customer service on phone and chat has gone right into the trash, after missing 4 scheduled times, no updates, no calls, no help. Yesterday my wife and I went to the Cox Store so she could update her phone. She currently has Cox cell service and it has been working fine since they added the ability to use WiFi for phone calls but the phone is showing its age and she wanted to get a new one. We entered the store and were greeted with courtesy. The representative listened to my wife and proceeded to look up a new phone and any deals available. So far so good. After discovering that the model she wanted was not in stock she consulted with her colleague and my wife was directed to go home and to order it online which we did, as we fumbled through the hoops presented to us during the online process. We hope we did it right. My low stars are from not completing the service at the store. We pay a lot of money for the phone and internet service, why couldn't the representative help my wife order her phone while we were in the store to make sure we got it right? Their customer service for cell phones is atrocious. I had no internet service for over 2 hours and I was lost in the worst part of town, and I could not get Google to get directions to Where I Was Going. So I missed my appointment and the chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and chocolate decorations that was in the back seat completely melted and was destroyed! When I called customer service I was on hold for an hour and never got to speak with anyone. ( That's a quarter of a tank of gas.I'll never get back.) So I went to the store on Mission Gorge Road and waited another half an hour, and I got Ahmed, who could not have cared less about my problem. And he said, "It's a Verizon problem. Talk to them. Not really happy I have not had Internet or cable since about 1:10 today. We have a brand new TV and I'm not really happy about it sitting there all black. I understand things happen Tech goes down, but they sent me a damn text telling me that the problem was fixed. But it.that was b**l s**t. I checked out the other reviews but I have to say I had a very pleasant experience when I walked in. Firstly around 3 o'clock today 06/01/2019 it's not that busy. I walked in and although I wasn't greeted instantly because the person standing ahead of me was taken to the line, I did see another staff person at the register to the right who called out to me greeted me and assisted me in returning my old cable box. Simple, smooth, easy transaction and I got a receipt for the return. All of the staff that were in there were spread at their sections helping people and everyone look like they were having a good experience. This is a nice clean establishment and the doors were open on this hot day but it was super cool inside. As I return that old bulky box it was simple and easy for me to set up the new contour box last night. I needed some help with technical support because I got splitters and all kinds other gadgets such as their internet and my DVD/Blu-ray player but that technical support on the phone was seamless and smooth. Now in general am I satisfied with their service is completely no. I do think this is ridiculous and overpriced for basic cable and expanded basic cable but what television I do you watch I enjoy and my roommate and I enjoy the benefits of the services. I've been a long-time customer, continue to be loyal and at times when I shouldn't but when I have issues and problems I called them it's usually fixed or I'm offered a discounted rate for another year. read more

Kolby helped us recently switch over our very expensive Verizon and was awesome. He transferred three phones' data, was spot -on about the new service and bundled our cellphones and internet service to save us money. I work in customer service and this was a horrible experience from Daniel and Manager Colby after returning to the store bc our replacement internet equipment was beyond used... WiFi password on router was scuffed up upon trying to set up at home so we returned to the store with this complaint and were told "our complaint is over nothing' and they admitted no fault other than to blame us for not taking a closer inspection of the router before leaving the store. Ummm I just gave you the modem, and I told you I am cancelling all services." This convo went on for 10 minutes in which I repeated that same thing 5 times. Then he says well you may get billed for another month. "What!?" I called, cancelled and returned the items on the date I was told too. He asks me "who told you this?" I said customer service. He says was it on the phone or via mobile chat. Thank god I did mobile chat and screen shot the agent giving me these directions or they'd try and bill me again!!! We just switched over from AT & T to Cox. The account wasn't set up correctly. Our bill is more then we were quoted. The picture quality has been worse then AT&T. You can't fast forward or rewind live tv with either DVR. I've had to call customer service 2 different times to get my account set up so I can log in to pay my bill because they won't send me a paper bill. The last lady I got in Tech Support took very good care of me therefore the two stars. Everyone has been friendly, but just don't know what they are doing except Technical Support. My printer has not worked since the internet was installed. Two of our friends have had traumatic brain injuries & they both were taken advantage of one with Cox tv service for a bill over $200 when he only wanted basic cable & the other got talked into the home security system. read more

Service here is excellent. I've had to come in 2 times. First, to pick up a splitter kit. They let me skip the line and just handed me the kit. Sweet. Then I came back because I had an issue doing self-configuration of my modem. I couldn't complete it because it was for new service, and they apparently have a long account number you need to do that... that they don't give you over email. I did have a frustrating experience with internet chat based tech support which couldn't even locate my order, despite me giving them the service address, order confirmation number, etc. They insisted they couldn't find it. But... I came into the store and they found it right away by my phone number. Yay store support! Big down-side: the lines here are ridiculous. I had to wait half an hour. However, they do have a flat-screen TV with the next 10 numbers on it. And there's a Sprouts next door. And benches outside to relax / have a snack on. So that's the back: get your number, go to sprouts, grab a snack, and stay nearby on the bench. Check the numbers on the screen every 5 minutes or so. That way you can avoid the teeming mass of humanity just inside the double-doors. read more

Prior to a move I bought a 500Mbps internet only package for my new residence in La Mesa. The service rep told me to click the link in my email to start service on my move in day and service would be live. It wasn't, and 4 hours of tech support later it was up and running. Initially at a speed too low to be compared to the advertised 500Mbps then finally up to speed. Fast forward a month and I'm seeing 1/10th the speed advertised over the past week and today my modem stops receiving internet connection every 20-40 mins. Lol. Do I even need to explain? This is a poor excuse for a business. Our modem is pretty old, it literally died and when we called them, they said, "oh. I see you have an older modem. Looks like it's not going to work anymore. Bring it to the store and we will get you another one." They can't reach out to their customers and let them know BEFORE this happens. I work from home, I wasn't able to complete my work day. I did go and exchange the modem, they weren't able to get it working and said since it's a holiday weekend, there is no one else available to assist us. When I explained to the customer service woman that I work from home, she replied, "honey so do I. It's not that big of a deal." However, I am a provider, not a customer service rep. There is sort of a difference. Fast toward, it's still not working and they have no idea when they will be able to help us. It's pretty pathetic in my opinion.
