We had only taken a couple bites of our meals when my boys needed to use the bathroom. I took them, and intentionally left my purse at the table so it was clear we hadn't left. When we came back, our entire meal had been cleared from the table. It was incredibly frustrating, especially with hungry little kids. The manager came over and apologized and offered to remake the food, but at that point my kids were hungry, upset, and honestly I was too. I just wanted to leave. I asked if they could comp the meal because this was entirely due to their mistake. The manager then said we should still pay 50% of the bill, which was honestly shocking. Paying half for food we barely ate because it was taken by mistake felt completely unreasonable. After I pushed back, they did end up comping the meal. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. What made this experience especially disappointing was the manager's lack of empathy and apology--especially as a mom trying to manage dinner with little kids.
