My friend Conrand I are pool players, casual one's for sure. We do not dream of playing pool in future Olympic games. But there is something quite wonderful about chasing pool tables at different dive bars. Namely that one does not know what billiards may bring. On this night, Conrad and I ended up at this cozy joint (pun intended) to handle some sticks with grace and alignment. And we did discover some fun and, on this occassion, a tattoo with wisdom that we should all heed, "the more we value things outside our control the less control we have." As the picture I took shows there is a candle above the quote which signals, in my opinion, that this should be a mantra that should govern one's life, as the one we are given comes with a burning wick the moment we are born. And, if we worry about things that we cannot mold to our liking or design, then we miss what is for us, time and again. But I visit dive bars so please take what I am saying with a dot of tattoo needle. One of the things that I really appreiated about this bar was the fact that I could use my credit card to get quarters. I never had that option and it was useful when needed. I ve been to other bars and that did not hapen. I mean who carries cash? I mean quarters? I guess people who need to pay meters and laundermats but they also have card options for them. Is this place ahead of the curve or other places in pace? I have been to bars and one is suppose to wait until the bartender is ready to serve you. But some people, me being one of them, thinks that the squeaky wheel gets the wheel. Or close mouth's dont get fed is the more apt, tired, saying. So I called the bartender over, had my shot, so I spoke. And she ignored me. Her choice. It is a legitimate process to avoid demanding customers. I then looked at a sign in the bar and it reminded me to "Behave." I do not know, but I highly suspect, that the sign worked on multiple levels and one of them was to remind the demanding lot to chill and wait their turn. So I did. Still I think that sometimes speaking up is the best way to get faster service. I mean, obvious, I know, but how many people sit and wait there turn to be given a beer that should have sooner rather than later. They "behaved" and their prize was a beer that waited for them to act and came when it was ready, not when they were thirsty. Even though Conrad and I went to play pool, the wait was too long. Like over 40 minutes long. There was other stuff we can do it had all the dive bar classics that are needed for a good time. Plus this place had charm. Pictures of big fish caught by people. Plus the people in there spoke about trips to Portugal and early mornings. So the people there might have a tip on a stock. As we drove away Conrad and I notice that they open the spot at 6:00 a.m,. And we were like who is drinking at the hour in a socially acceptable way, that is also healthy? I told him that the one time I had beer with my breakfast was on St. Patrick's day. So I did as the Irishmen did. Now I am left wondering who drinks beer before the trike of 9:00 a.m. and legitimately does it as a safe practice? read more

If anybody knows anything about me is, I love a good dive bar and Cozy Inn checks off all of the boxes check, check, and check...They have darts pool, shuffleboard and a megatouch which is very rare to find! I love a megatouch machine!!! I don't know if I love the bartender. He seems very Henry Rollins-like. I mean that not in a bad way, but Henry Rollins just comes off very matter of fact and very rigid and kind of strict almost like military. There is no food there so you gotta go across the street to Tito's tacos or Johnny's pastrami. All in all, I have so much fun here I mean so many cool people I enjoy the spot. I would give this establishment zero stars if that were an option. On March 9, 2026, at approximately 6:20 AM, my friend and I experienced what appeared to be discriminatory treatment from the bartender on duty. My friend, who is Black, and I, who am Hispanic, entered the establishment. Before entering the bar my friend drank his water bottle and threw it outside in there trashcan. At no point were we consuming alcohol. Despite this, the bartender accused my friend of drinking a Modelo beer, which was untrue. To clarify, it was early in the morning and we only had water with us before even entering the establishment.During those hours of the day there is not anywhere you can even purchase a Modelo. We do not even drink Modelos either which we thought was funny of even being accused of doing something like that. We even explained to him to check the camera footage again to see it was just a smart water he threw away. My friend briefly walked to the trash can to During our time there, we observed that we were the only customers of color present who were not being served, while the bartender continued to serve white customers. When we calmly asked the bartender about the situation and why we were not being served, he became defensive and refused to provide his name after we expressed concern that the treatment felt discriminatory. His response was that he did not feel comfortable giving his name after we raised the issue of racism. We really wanted to just check this place out because we thought it was funny how a bar opens so early. Yet, we left feeling upset over all this. Based on the circumstances, the experience felt unfair and discriminatory. We simply wanted to be treated with the same respect and service as other customers. I hope management reviews this situation seriously and ensures that all patrons are treated equally and respectfully in the future. read more

Lisa, one of the managers, was absolutely lovely and incredibly hosptiable when I spoke to her about a patron making others uncomfortable at the bar. She let me know that the Cozy Inn was "not that kind of place" and that they wanted all of their guests to feel safe and comfortable there. It really made me feel at ease. Local dive bar that's open most hours with great service! The Cozy Inn is open from 6 AM to 2 AM (the next day) !!! I've been here to watch the Olympics, post game, and pregame. They have a jute box where you can be the own DJ. They also have pool tables. One morning, 6 AMish, the bartender even ordered bagels for the whole bar! It was awesome! Let that compute, It's not a mystery, strong drinks, cozy vibe, old school shuffle board, killer jukebox & amazing bartenders! I went last Thursday, met Amelia, she was warm & welcoming and makes you feel comfortable straight away. Parking is tricky but they have their own lot or just uber . We were staying at a hotel across the street for the weekend and didn't realize this was a bar/pub, due to the name. When we finally figured it out, we decided to stop by. And I'm so glad we did, because I got to beat my bf in shuffleboard and darts multiple times (while learning how to correctly play darts too!). Win or lose, I'm just glad they have these great games here, as well as two pool tables, everything in fairly good condition, and a nice homey atmosphere overall. There was plenty of space, a couple small tables, and bar seating available on a Sunday night, and the bartender was attentive and helpful during our visit. Dope little dive bar nestled in amongst a bunch of car repair shops and a gas station. Low-key vibe, super casual, pool tables, darts, video golf, long hallway-style room with a wind flow that keeps it surprisingly cool. They don't have food, but allow you to order delivery and eat it at the bar. Inexpensive drinks, decent whiskey and bourbon brands, lots of beer choices (no drafts, only bottles). And a jukebox. Bartenders are all cool af, decent hard-working folk who have to put up with some serious LA attitudes and they manage the crowd like professionals. And OMG, it doesn't smell like a dive bar! Clean af, and the bathrooms even (for a dude bathroom to be reasonably clean at a dive bar is like winning the lottery.) Relax, have a good time, play some pool, and chill. This is the ultimate dive bar. If you are looking to dress up and go to a fancy club, go elsewhere. This is the place that opens early in the day for those that want to play pool and drink and drink and drink some more. The people that go there are all local, but they welcome visitors. I had wanted to find a small spot to hang out have a drink and play some pool. I have to say this is a chill little spot. Loved that they also have a shuffle board. Place was actually very clean. The bartender I didn't catch her name but she was definitely full of personality and brought good vibes. Knew the names of her regulars. Music selection wasn't my favorite there. But I would definitely come back. Parking lot is small so you may have to park on the street. As far as pricing goes it's pretty general for what you spend at most bars. Not overly priced either. I've had this spot on my list of bars to dry for a while. I'm so glad that I finally made it here! It's an awesome dive bar! I came here because I was looking for a bar playing a particular sports game -- the U.S. Open. Luckily, there are multiple TVs that were each playing different things (apparently, there was also a baseball game on at the same time), so we didn't need to worry that we wouldn't be able to watch the tennis match. The few people around us who were also watching tennis were very friendly and low-key. They don't have any beers on tap, and a limited selection of bottled beers, but they did have an IPA, so I was satisfied with their beer selection. The drinks are stiff! We got a few shots along with the beers -- WOW, those are way more than a single shot. They have heavy pours. They have a large, spacious outdoor area with a combination of smaller high-top tables and some larger tables. It was drizzling that evening, and it was great that they had tents covering the tables. I also really liked the vibe and the crowd. We chatted and played card games with some of the other people there -- everyone was really nice and not pretentious at all (which is a relief since I live in Santa Monica, so I'm used to a different, snootier crowd). This place has horrible customer service. We were a group of about six of us who walked in at 11:30 PM. Right away, we got a super smear look from the bartender. We ordered a shot of tequila. Came out to $165.00 for six shots. It was gouging at its finest. The bartender barely spoke to us, was not friendly at all. I'm curious if anyone else has had this issue there.
