The space is awesome. Two bars, one on each side, and a massive back patio that really opens things up. The left side (Bar 2) is where the karaoke happens, and that's when the place really comes alive. It pulls in a great crowd and turns the whole night into an experience. Overall vibe is cozy, relaxed, and very down to earth. Food is solid, but the veggie burger with onion rings is the star. Easily the thing we keep coming back for. Drink selection is moderate, but the bartenders are flexible and will pretty much make whatever you're in the mood for. Prices are reasonable, which makes it even easier to hang out for a while. Perfect dive bar. It had an outdoor seating area with a ping pong table and ability to smoke, and the interior was exactly what a dive bar should be; cozy and inviting. I had a Stella Artois on tap, and the bartender was very kind. As a V.B. local, I appreciate how much this place reminds me of where I grew up. Just a random spot to grab a drink but was it really princess worthy? Coming here was a random time of my friend saying let's get a drink so I was all for it but it really did fall short as this was just too much of a sports bar for me and with that it seemed like our bartender was more involved with the game than they were with greeting and taking care of patrons that weren't here to watch the game. After a bit our bartender came over and got our drinks but it was definitely after we had made ourself noticed when that happened. this dive bar has been in Playa Del Rey for over 50 or 60 years. I have not been here for at least 40 years. Went last week with 8 friends. We enjoyed it very much. Sat in covered patio are with heaters. There is a full bar, they only had a few beers on tap, but plenty of bottled beers. The food was greasy pub grub. It was delicious. Nothing on the menu was cheap. Our onion rings for the table were $14. Even a regular order of french fries was nine dollars. We had tacos, patty melt, chili cheese fries. Service was very good. Can honestly say we loved it and were shocked with the many seating areas you wouldn't expect from the outside. It's a quaint local bar. It's within walking distance from the beach, it's a total classic dive bar - old posters, jukebox songs and plenty of TVs playing sports. I almost don't want to 5 star this place because it has recently been invaded by (what I assume) are LMU kids, but I must do this place justice! I love it here - ping pong, darts, pinball, and the most amazing bartender, Rocky. Dog friendly outside as well! They have this deal, and I recommend going with a partner or friend, where you get a pitcher of beer and two burgers for the price of a sad, yet somehow bougie burger down the street. Customize your cheese, but don't order the side salad, because their fries are INCREDIBLE. Definitely worth the further belt loop. Has become my local and most frequented bars. The service is friendly and the prices are super reasonable with a few different tap beers and hard drinks. You can charge on a credit card as some dive bars only take cash. read more

I'm not sure why this place is so highly rated. Would give 0 stars if possible. Bartender (older white woman with a limp) was absolutely awful - extremely racist, rude, yelling at people. Underpoured nonwhite customers, was extremely rude to anyone who wasn't a white male. There was another older woman walking around telling women and nonwhite people to leave. This place was dirty. Drinks were overpriced. Extremely rude and racist staff. Honestly appalled. Have never been treated like this is LA. This place should be shut down. read more

The quintessential dive bar, really. No frills, fried food, cheap beer, and classic decor. In an area filled with ritzy cocktail bars and upscale dining, it's a breath of fresh air. The bartenders are always super nice and very attentive, and the crowd tends to skew young professional/college student which is nice because a lot of these types of bars don't draw that crowd. The food is delicious, but standard, bar fare. The Onion Rings were a notch above though -- I'd bet my bottom dollar they make them in house rather than buy them frozen. The only knock is the selection is a bit limited. You've got your standard draft beers and a handful of spirits, but it's very much a "Jack and coke" bar. It's a typical US impression of a British pub with cold beer, nice selection, indoor and outdoor seating, and darts.
