Although I live only a few blocks away, I have never been in this nail salon until recently. It has the feel of a spa and the staff couldnt have been more friendly and accomodating. I was in a time crunch yet wanted a gel manicure. When I told them this, they had 2 women working on me at the same time...both women were super nice and did a really great job! The salon was super clean and everything just felt so much nicer than any nail salon in the city!! The gel manicure was $35, which is really reasonable. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a clean, relaxing, spa-like environment. The receptionest even held the door for me on my way out! Been coming here for years now. The staff are so friendly, but not in a condescending way like some nail salons. Clean and comfortable, fair prices. They are open til 8 which is great for someone who gets out of work kinda late. It's good to schedule an appointment, but I've been able to walk in for a pedi or a wax and was taken care of within 10-15 mins. My nasty feet feel like new after a trip here! Cozy Nails Salon opened up about 2 years ago. It definitely has a nice clean, fresh feel. Everyone is very friendly and will greet you upon entering. The massage chairs are just the right size. Being petite it's very uncomfortable to try to rest my back in oversized massage chairs while somehow managing to get my feet into the bath at the same time. I don't have that problem here. After soaking, trimming, filing, and smoothing away those calluses came the leg scrub. The leg and foot massages with lotion were next. She did some amazing things with my toes too. This had to be a good 5 minutes on each leg. Then she brought out the hot stones and finished off with a hot towel. While sitting at the drying station she brought me water, and massaged my back, neck, shoulders, and arms. Both with her hands and with hot stones for about five minutes. The pedicure cost $32 total. This may be $4-5 more than some places in the neighborhood, but it's worth it. They do take walk-ins, but It's common and preferred to call-ahead about 30-60 minutes. Therefore, I do recommend calling ahead. If you don't they may tell you they can't fit you in when they appear to be free; however, they are waiting for their call-ahead. read more

I wanted the design on each nail but it was $3 extra per nail, so I opted for the design on only 2 nails. Love it! All staff was very accommodating and pleasant. The salon was clean. I went here expecting a great manicure based on the reviews. I did not make an appointment, since it was the middle of the afternoon on a Tuesday. I paid for parking, entered the salon, and saw that there were two customers already being helped. The receptionist asked if I could come back in 2 hours! I am obsessed with this nail salon. Obsessed is an understatement. I've been getting my nails done in the city since 2006 and this is by far the best place I've been. My favorite place in Center City, TD Nails, is tough for me to find parking at. Last time I was there I paid $20 to park because good manicurists ARE worth that much in this city, but it's not something I can keep doing. So I have tried pretty much every salon in South Philly and have been severely disappointed. UNTIL NOW!!! I have been going to their competitor around the corner (Nail Bar) for some time now, but this place gets the gold star. My gel manicure is $35, which is cheaper than the competitor and is sooooooo much better. Gel removal was clean and no sitting with bags on my hands for an hour (like the other places does), cut and filing was perfect and very meticulous, and my cuticles were trimmed where I actually felt like they did something. Not just some light trimming where they take off absolutely no skin. Hands got soaked, cuticles rubbed and trimmed, hands scrubbed (where does that happen?!?! amazing!!) and then on to gel polish. After my gels were drying, I got the best back massage! Plus hand lotion and then hot towel. Did I mention this was just $35??? I think this is very accurately priced and well worth the $35 spent. I've spent $20-$50 on gel manis and never before have I had this great of an experience. I spend a minimum of $40 at competitor and they don't do HALF of this stuff. I also watched all of the manicurists cleaning their nail polish bottles and keeping the place meticulous, which I find very reassuring knowing that they are really interested in cleanliness. I know they were slow, but as I was walking out every single one of the manicurists and manager walked me to the door and waved goodbye. I genuinely think they were happy for the business and it made me want to scream to the world "GO THERE THEY ARE AMAZING!!!!" I've never been so pampered in a nail salon before and made me regret that I couldn't get a Pedi!! Seriously, I cannot believe the bad review someone posted last month. It blows my mind. read more

It is so soothing to enter a completely clean and comfortable space, happily missing that unfortunate yicky-fume salon smell that seems to be the price of going to get your nails done! Agreed, pricier than where I used to go, but as I've phased out regular mani-pedis, opting to do them at home, I would much rather pay the extra bit when I do decide to treat myself, provided the extra pampering, calm, and relaxation.
