My office in Dallas has recently moved and I have started flying in and out of DAL much more often and I now have a routine almost every time on my way home that it starts with a stop at Cru Wine bar at least to have a glass of wine, and more often to have a flight of wine and dinner! Usually not too crowded, and I love the fact that I can get different flights and try a few different things. As far as food, the tomato soup is great, the meatballs are great, and what I have seen of the other food looks good as well! Was excited to find a wine bar at the airport to spend my time in for a longer layover. Was unfortunately a little let down. All the reviews talked the service up but I believe it could have been better. We were only one of two tables yea dirty dishes and empty glasses filled our table while the server walked but multiple times looking at them and not grabbing them. Love the convenience of having a glass of GOOD wine at the airport. I've been stopping by for years and the service and wine selection are consistently great. I've only tried a few food items - pizzas and salads - but they were also delicious. That said, they really should invest in decor updates. The barstools are ridiculous. I frequent Cru several times a year as I travel through Love Field Airport. I absolutely love the team there! The wine selections are great, the pizzas/ Bruschetta are delicious and customizable. Cru is one of my favorite restaurants so I was so excited to see it at Dallas Lovefield. I had a long time to wait for my flight and it's a good thing I had time. I ordered a charcuterie board and it took an hour to come out. That's right, an hour for a charcuterie board and it was very disappointing. A single slice of cheese for the whole board, and the "prosciutto" was definitely not prosciutto. And to add a cherry on top there was a long black hair in my prosciutto... I'm torn on this one. The place was cute and I got a nice seat facing the passerby's on a couch seat so I was happy. I had short amount of time before boarding. I was mid afternoon and I had a 4.5 hour flight. So I ordered a grilled cheese with tomato soap. I couldn't of even more underwhelmed. The soup was yummy but of of thick and Luke warm. It was a very small amount. The grilled cheese was kind of a joke. It was a long 2 slices of very thin sourdough with Guyger cheese but it hardly had any. The bread was kind of soggy. With no lounge at Love Field, Crú is my choice to while away a layover. Honestly any bar that offers wine flights is going to lure me in. I like the opportunity to try small pours of different wines. They have a variety of salads and small plates if you're hungry. It's a fairly small place, but if you can find a seat at the bar, you'll have an enjoyable place to hang out while waiting for your flight out of DAL. read more

I travel a lot and finding a bar where I actually feel at home while at an airport is EXTREMELY difficult but the decor, ambiance, tasty food, delicious wine and, most importantly, friendly and knowledgeable staff makes this place a winner! Wish I could remember bartenders name but he was friendly, ands exceptionally knowledgeable about champagne and wines. Kudos to him and while many of the plates looked delicious (including the pizza) I opted for charcuterie board to nibble on and it was delicious and served beautifully. I was surprised how delicious my salmon salad turned out to be! Salmon was delicious, prepared well, and didn't have that 'too fishy' taste. Salad dressing was also great. I wish the lettuce had been more dark leaves, and more quinoa would have been nice. It's a very overpriced salad for what it is, but one of the few legitimate healthy options at the airport. Based out of Austin, TX and with about 20 locations mostly outside of airports, Cru was a pleasant surprise! For wine airport wine bars, I'd have to say this was a wonderful experience with a good selection of wines and food. The wines are grouped from old world to sinful blends to Malbec and Pinot with characteristics that you may prefer so it is easier to select. From grape varietal to geographic region or styles! Sample three 2 oz with varying prices. I love that a red is poured in a BA glass which makes a huge difference. Most airport wine bars don't do that (talking to you Vino Volo). I had the EdMeades Zin ($15) and it was really good. Pizza was recommended as they make their own dough. I had the Salsiccia ($18) with goat, park, mozzarella cheese, red peppers, Italian sausage and basil. The marinara was light and not overwhelming so the three cheeses stood out. Nice dough. Not too thick and not too thin of that is your preference. Baked in a gas fired stove though but good. I would definitely look forward to my next layover here at Love Field and be back. read more

Great service from David. It was busy and service was slow because they were short handed but David was super sweet and funny. We had a red wine flight and wine was really good. Also has the Cobb salad with grilled chicken and it was good. I did walk up to the kitchen area to ask for dressing and the cook did look at me funny. 2nd time here prior to leaving Love Field en route to Boston Logan. Both times, the service started out a bit pretentious with the bartender + server (bartender was more interested in chatting with a hot 30 something brunette. Cant say that I blame him). In addition, it took what seemed forever to get served for even a drink order. Nonetheless, my server (David) came around, and had a knack of being 3 seconds ahead of you on the order. It was as if he was reading my mind when it came to beverages. Not terribly annoying, yet I'm certain he repeats the draft beer availability + popular Napa vintages 75 times a day at minimum. Lakewood IPA was the choice both times. Thank God that Starbucks & Dunkies were around the corner at Love Field, because I would've boarded the aircraft bent AF! Very strong IPA, choice. The pannini choice + pizza Siccisclia with sausage & basil proved to be a winner. Excellent placement within Love Field. As soon as you arrive on the second level via escalator or steps, Cru is about 60 feet away on your right. read more

Hello darling, it's been too long....I spotted Cru upon my arrival to the Dallas Love airport and made a mental date for us a few days later when I was to come back for my return flight. Cru is one of those places that just brings happiness to someone who may have just seen their flight get delayed, someone who had to skip lunch because they were stuck in traffic trying to get to the airport, or maybe someone who was just manhandled going through security. Either way, I'm sure I'm not the only one that breaths a sigh of relief upon running into an airport Cru. It's easily one of my favorite wine bars that always delivers a gf nom and a glass of vino. This location is particularly fabulous because there isn't much else going down in the Dallas Love airport, and I just can't think of any better way to wait for a flight than with a glass of wine in each hand..I mean, in my hand.. you get the idea. I love the varieties of seating available here. You can chill at the bar and offer to drink any rejected wine, hang at the hightops and judge everyone that walks in, or take my method and sulk in a corner trying to pull off the True Blood vibe, but no matter your jam, there is a good amount of seating in this little place. The server was friendly and did an awesome job getting a glass of wine to me asap. After a sip or two, I felt much better and we were able to get into the ihategluten discussion. Initially, he wasn't aware of all the gf items on the menu, but I really appreciated that he went and checked with the kitchen. I settled on the tomato soup which was spicy and robust and a cheese plate. I definitely appreciated the extra fruit they put on the board in lieu of the evil gluten. I enjoyed my wine selection, my noms, and my server's awesome attention to my glass becoming even slightly empty. I stopped in for some dinner during my layover in Dallas Love Field. A quiet hidden wine bar in a loud, crowded airport. It is a nice location for quiet and relaxation. They have a massive selection of wines, as my photo illustrates. I'm not a big wine drinker, but the waitress recommended the Old World Whites wine flight which is a selection of classic white wines from Italy, Spain and France. They were excellent. For dinner I had the basic margarita pizza, but it was flavorful and well cooked. Loved the experience, the food and the wine. Service was quick and very helpful. read more
