We decided to have dinner here last night on a recommendation from a colleague. They have a wide variety of food and alcoholic beverages. Definitely something for everyone. We were seated and greeted right away. The first thing I noticed was the noise level. It was so loud in this restaurant and lots of small children and toddlers dining which increased the noise level. The interior setup and noise level doesn't match the price point. We started with the goat cheese appetizer and it was wonderful. The bread could have been better and sliced fully. We opted for the stir fry with chicken and it was not bad. Then we got a 9oz filet and they want to prepare their entrees with the same sides which are mashed potatoes (no gravy) and asparagus. You can swap for a fee. So I got the mashed potatoes and fries. Didn't see any other side that I would have enjoyed. The potatoes were good, would have been great with gravy. The fries were the hand cut style and were cold. They have a lot of steak on the menu including the special of the day but only one steak sauce, A1 which was a let down for me as I prefer Heinz 57 myself. We opted for the bourbon pecan pie which came with a scoop of ice cream. It was okay. I would eat here again if the weather was nice enough to dine outside as the inside is far too noisy for me. I have been to night clubs that weren't this noisy. Again the price point doesn't match the sports club vibe with servers in shorts and T-shirts. Nice large casual restaurant. There are two locations, this one(near Geist) and the other is FoxGardin kitchen and ale in mccordsville. The names are very similar, the menus are very different. We ate at the bar, Tanner was our bartender/server. There's not a huge selection of craft beers on tap, but a variety. It also is a full service bar. Tanner was very friendly and attentive. He's great at his profession. Dry January, so I had a Diet Coke. I tried the stir fry with chicken. The sauce in the stir fry was described as general Tso. Sauce was good, vegetables included broccoli, peppers and onion with rice in the middle. A sliced chicken breast was layered on top. It was very satisfying. Wife had beef stroganoff, she said it was very good. Both of us got a take box, enough for another meal. I'm glad we tried it and will go back. read more

This hidden gem far exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious - everything the table tried was phenomenal. The service was amazing from the time we called ahead to the entire time we were there: when we walked in the hostess remembered how many people we had, the number of kids, and the high chairs needed. She had two table options held for us to choose from. Then Taylor, our server, didn't miss a single beat. She thoroughly explained the menu, answered all the questions we had, and made sure we had what we needed throughout. We closed out with the best brownie sundae I've ever had at a restaurant! This was our second time here, the first being years ago. Our experience was fantastic. I made a reservation for 5:15 on a Saturday and we definitely came before the crowd did. I would recommend making a reservation as the restaurant itself wasn't very big inside. We started with the fried mozzarella & the pretzels. We absolutely loved them! I would love to try the mozzarella sticks with Ale's ranch.... Iykyk For entrees, I got the Orchard Salad and it was fantastic-- lots of flavors that worked very well together. My husband got the burger with chips. He said the burger tasted like it had been grilled on an actual grill rather than a flattop which is something he doesn't ever find out often.. not sure if it really is or not as we didn't ask. He loved the chips too. My son got the kids grilled cheese with fries and fruit. His grilled cheese and fruit were great, though we weren't crazy about the fries. They were soggy and just not our favorite style. We ended the meal on the warm chocolate chip cookie with ice cream and we could have easily gone through three of them. It was decadent and the perfect ending to a great dinner. Our service was amazing -- he was attentive and quick. Considering I'm at FoxGardin almost every week, I'm shocked I haven't written a review for it yet! A group of 4 of us visited on Sunday, 9/1, for dinner, and we knew the restaurant would be busy at that time, so we called ahead to make a reservation. You can also make reservations on OpenTable through FoxGardin's website, but I personally think it's easier to just call the restaurant. We wanted to enjoy the summer night, so we were seated on the covered patio. The patio is the perfect compromise of outside and inside--it's covered, with fans and TVs, but there is also a nice breeze from the windows and is situated in a nice shady area. Our waiter was August, and he was amazing at his job. He knew when to check on the table without being overbearing, and he gave us time to enjoy our appetizer before asking for our entree orders. He was also just very kind and welcoming in general, and we all really appreciated him. We started off with the Buffalo bites, which are basically a smaller version of boneless wings, and are my favorite appetizer on the menu. They served us a heaping portion, enough for everyone to enjoy 3 or more. Also, the sauce has a little kick, but it's not overwhelming spicy. It's a crowd favorite, and my go-to recommendation when someone can't decide on what to get! For dinner, I had the short rib grilled cheese, which truly surpassed my expectations. There was so much meat on the sandwich that it was spilling onto the plate, and every bite was dripping with melted provolone and delicious sauce. It was very filling, though, and even though I loved it, I couldn't finish all of it! Truly fantastic experience in both food and service. On a crowded Friday night, the mostly young staff was upbeat, happy, and very welcoming. Trey checked on us while waiting, offering his favorite suggestions. Multiple people stopped by our table to ask how things were. And they were delicious. The fried brussel sprouts and whipped goat cheese toast sound simple but they are perfection. The ultimate bacon burger was super flavorful and chargrilled. The Parmesan crusted chicken has yummy lemon herb butter melted on top that makes it special. But overall, it was the service. We've been here a handful of times and LOVE it. The food is always top notch, our servers have been incredibly attentive, and the restaurant itself is a great spot for date night, going out with friends, or sitting at the bar to catch a football game. This has become a favorite spot for date night for us. They have a seasonal menu for both drinks and food, and every time I try something new I find another dish to fall in love with. We've dined here twice within the last few weeks. We like to sit at the bar and enjoy the attentive service while watching the overhead tv's. We've really enjoyed the wedge salad with blackened shrimp added, the boneless chicken bites tossed in General Tso's sauce, and the mushroom swiss burger. Hubby loves the boneless bites so much he always orders extra to take home. Sadly, the beef stroganoff contained a couple of fatty meat pieces, so I can't recommend that menu item based on our experience. Popped in for a quick dinner tonight. We were early so had no wait. In fact we were so early we were the only ones in the main dining side. Knew what I wanted before I walked in the door. It's getting cold and my beef manhattan is back on the menu. Creamy potatoes on top of tender, full of flavor roast beef and Texas toast with lots of yummy gravy. It's the perfect comfort food! We stopped in here on a weekend getaway. Decent casual decor with outdoor seating. The outdoor seating overlooked a parking lot. The music playing inside was a bit much (VERY loud guitar), so outdoor was quieter. The food was good/not anything special. We got handhelds. The confit fries didn't suit our palates...the texture combinations just didn't work for us. The homemade chips were perfection...but would have loved a fancy dip with them. All in all, we might come back. But may prefer something with a bit more ambience to our liking. Either the ambience needs to be amazing, or the food has to knock our socks off...this place fell a bit flat on both ends. In conclusion, we would probably choose a different experience next time. This place is truly the real deal. We drove out of our way on our route home on Easter to dine at this wonderful restaurant. Yelp reviews lead us here and we are certainly glad we visited. Melody gave us awesome courteous and friendly service. She was very helpful assisting us in navigating the menu and even surprised us with a free dessert rewarding us for our first time visit. We had several food choices and all were prepared perfectly and were extremely tasty ... Speed of service was prompt and we were checked on often ... I ordered takeout from this place after learning they were recognized as a YELP top 100 restaurant. I ordered the Auggie burger and Torta. The burger had: roasted jalapeno cream cheese, bacon jam and crispy onion straws. This is one of the thickest, juiciest and well seasoned burgers i have had. The Gardin Torta was both filling and flavorful. Filled with Mortadella, Chicken, Steak, grilled pickled veggies, avocado mayo, provolone and bolillo bread. Let's start with Tracy. WOW! Talk about super service!!! Then, the food. I had the Bonge's tomato soup and a bacon burger. Both were perfect. My hubby had the chicken caprese sandwich. Another perfect score. Our friends had the soup, a chicken caprese sandwich, fish tacos and the potatoes. All were just fabulous. AND, then Tracy brought us brownies with ice cream. OMG. Talk about amazing. Despite a bunch of miniature people in there it was really quiet. Well, except for one young lady (about 3-4yo) who managed to upend a plate onto the floor... Oh, well. Very simple but so so good. A pair of Korean BBQ beef hot dogs smothered with an amazing Korean slaw accompanied by habit forming cafeteria chips. All three of us in our party ordered this piece of edible art, and all agreed it was top notch in flavor. Blaze, the Sous Chef who created this masterpiece came out and thanked us for our compliments and explained how he developed that wonderful sandwich only that morning. He humbly explained that he had some leftover Korean bbq sauce and "played" around with tasty ways to use it. Well Blaze, you sure made a winner for today's special. I would say that this place easily serves 5 star service and food, but the atmosphere is atrocious. We started with calamari and it was so tender! The sauce on it was really delicious. My black and bleu salad was perfection. I was a bit skeptical about the pickled egg, but it went well in the salad. A bite of tangy egg in with the creamy dressing and blackened steak was a symphony. The filet was reportedly beautifully prepared and delicious. Fries looked crisp. The tenderloin was well received. The amplified bacon mac and cheese is spicy. The menu doesn't allude to that, but it is. The intensity builds, but it's wonderful. The pasta was perfect, the bacon smokey, and it was so creamy. It may have been the best mac and cheese ever. Our server was great, but the team of servers also seemed to be well trained and focused. It's loud in here. Loud. There are no textures to absorb sound, so everything bounces off of the hard surfaces and resonates within. The decor is confusing. We were dining with a young male guest who has zero design aesthetic and he even called out the awful decor. Its clear that they are going for a modern industrial look, but they didn't quite get there. I get that Family Kitchen is in the title and I'm all about that, but there was a table adjacent to us that were letting their small children crawl around on the floor. It was raining and the floors were not clean. Additionally, it was very crowded and the servers were running their butts off. The level of disrespect is unimaginable to me. Fantastic food and service at FoxGardin Family Kitchen today. I had the spinach salad with added salmon and the salmon was perfectly medium. My tiny elderly Mom ordered the parm crusted chicken that was huge and she still finished the whole thing, it was so good. The service was outstanding. Our waitress was delightful. But even more kudos to the manager. My wife ordered the beyond burger to try and found it to be a bit charred and dry. They immediately took it back, and the manager had them do it on the flattop instead of the grill and it came out perfect. In fact, she split it with me so I could try it as well. We've always enjoyed this restaurant since it opened. We've brought our kids many times but live close and haven't needed to use the restroom to change diapers before. I needed to change my son's diaper today only to find out there's no changing station in the men's or women's restroom despite having the word "Family" in the restaurant's name. I find this very disappointing. I'd hope, someone will read this and consider installing changing stations to welcome all families to dine here. Nothing ok about changing your child on a bathroom floor. read more

I love this old place. I am so glad that others before me had great things to say about the food and drink. It's a bit on the expensive side, but great for an adult date night outing. The first time we stopped in, we ordered a special and split the meal. It was delicious and the chef obviously knows what they're doing. The second time we went, for a mini celebration, we had cocktails and split the beef Manhattan. I can understand why there are some who only order a beef Manhattan that is enormous and tasty. My husband and I enjoy coming here regularly. The rooftop dining is open on the evening and is always a nice change from your inside dining options. We ordered the street corn dip as an appetizer. It came out quick and piping hot. Be warned - it's spicy! So good...but spicy! This was my first time having their Caesar salad. I won't be getting it here again. I know there are typically anchovies in traditional dressing - but this dressing was WAY TOO FISHY for me. The fish flavor just overpowered the taste of the salad.
