Stopped by here a few weeks ago on a Sunday for the "Sunday Linner' with my grandaughter and her mother. Wasn't crowded for a Sunday afternoon, just sayin. Ordered the "Linner" (buffet) which was hit or niss, more miss. Namely, I'll run down some particulars. Chicken parm? Ugh. Dry and coagulated. The breaded shrimp and Coconut shrimp-both greasy. Pulled pork- that was a winner. BBQ rib ends- a bit fatty, but tasty. Cod over lemon rice- was dry and unappealing. And so on.....hey, it's a buffet, and as I mentioned, some of the items were a bit lacking but you'll have that; oddly, struck me as not unlike a Golden Corral. Now here's the twist. Myself, I actually DID spring for the "all you can eat crab legs and steak", and they were both quite good, and the server was attentive to bringing out more on the regular. I was really hoping I could write a better review for this place, but it was just not a great experience at all. I try to be as fair and balanced when it comes to my reviews and I'll say I'd be giving this a 1-star had it not been for the incredible effort our server, Jennifer put in. I'll start by saying we frequent Cast Iron (a sister restaurant) quite frequently and haven't had too many issues with food or service there and we were hoping that since Crab Station opened in March, that was enough time to work out any issues. Unfortunately that's not the case. We started by looking to see if they do any call ahead/reservations and were really disappointed to see they only do for groups of 8 or more. Knowing this, we opted to not come on Sunday (our son's 15th birthday AND Mother's Day) and went on Saturday instead. We arrived right at 4:30 and while there were people waiting inside, it wasn't a huge amount, and we were told 20-30 minutes for a table. We were absolutely okay with this, as we purposely came early to reduce the wait that would only grow as the evening hours came. At 5:15, my husband went to inquire on how much longer it'd be and was told as soon as a table for six opened, it'd be our turn. Okay, cool. Then this is where the night took a quick turn. A group of four came in and said they'd come from Youngstown and they were told an hour to an hour & a half wait. They went outside to wait bc the inside was PACKED. Then an older couple came in and they were told the same wait time. The lady (not the hostess- this was a shorter woman with straight brown hair) said, "Okay... don't you worry. I'll take care of you... it'll be just a minute." And I kid you not, she grabbed two clipboards and utensil sets and took them in for a table. Now before you jump to conclusions, no they weren't being seated outside or at the bar (which I think is immediate seating)- they went to a regular table. So they were given a fast track to bump the line, ahead of people who had been waiting over an hour. And there were several parties of two waiting as well. This absolutely enraged me. I don't care who they were or what their circumstances were, it was unacceptable and that alone made me want to leave, but it was over an hour of waiting and "we were next." My husband went over to ask why the couple was seated ahead of everyone else and the woman (not hostess) rudely said we were next and refused to say why the older couple was seated ahead of everybody else. Ten more minutes went by and we were finally called. A different person sat us and didn't give us menus or utensils. She took us to a table in the corner and walked away. She didn't say ANYTHING at all. When Jennifer, our server, came by she asked for our drink order and was super friendly and welcoming. She got our drinks and when she returned, she looked confused and asked why we didn't have menus, we told her it'd bc we were angry seated. She assured the rest of the night would be nothing but amazing and she apologized and asked who seated us. For anyone who's never been there, here's what you need to know. Food doesn't come out in any order like you'd expect at a typical restaurant. We sat for probably 10 minutes waiting on straws (not a huge deal but still). We never got menus. So when Jennifer was telling us about the May special she was a bit annoyed that my in-laws had so many questions (but we literally had nothing to look at when ordering). The special included a choice of soup from two options, a choice of salad from two options, then two clusters of crab legs, wedge potatoes, corn on the cob, shrimp cocktail, breaded shrimp, and breaded scallops for $40. You could share this special bc it's not all you can eat. My in-laws shared, I got the special, my husband got the special, and my son got the all you can eat. We were expecting salads and soup to come first, but instead, my son got ribs, shrimp, and Mac and cheese almost immediately. Then we got our crab legs. Then someone came by with salads and the smallest thing for soup (like the size of samples you get at Costco- a sampler size portion). The table was FULL of plates and no room at all. We finally got straws and we asked for extra napkins, cocktail sauce and tartar sauce and had to ask three more times before we got them. Jennifer was very busy and there were people walking around giving the AYCE diners as much crab as they could eat. But no one ever came to clear plates. It was awful. My suggestions: * Give wet wipes, straws, and extra napkins when seated or have them on the table already. * Have someone come by throughout to clear plates. *Under no circumstances should anyone EVER be given a priority for seating if there are no reservations/call ahead allowed. *Consider allowing call ahead/reservations for parties of any size. If other restaurants can manage this, I can't see why Crab Station can't as well. read more

Absolutely the most phenomenal dinner ever. Started off our meal with appetizers of shrimp and seafood soup. Then Aunt came the endless crab legs Pan after Pan after Pan. Our waitress was very nice but the menu was confusing to understand. The lobster bisque came in a very small ramekin, a cup designed for a dipping sauce. You get about 3-4 spoonfuls out of it. We all laughed when it came to the table. The crab cakes are heavily breaded and taste like thanksgiving stuffing. They defintely aren't made there. One person ordered a steak and he said it was the worst steak he's ever had. He stated it had absolutely no flavor, not even salt or pepper. The corn on the cob was grilled but it did not have any flavor or seasoning on it. They only brought crab legs to the table we didn't get to try any other seafood even though other stuff was listed on the menu. The dessert was extremely disappointing. The grilled strawberries were very unusual and nobody liked them at the table. The cheesecake was good but it was the smallest slice I've ever seen. All in all, I would never come back here. I love seafood so much but it was incredibly overpriced, over promised, and it under delivered. read more

Had heard good things about this restaurant and decided to try it last night. My first clue should have been that the parking lot was empty. After I had dined I understood why. Although the place was practically empty, I had to wait for a booth to be cleaned before I could be seated. I ordered the crab legs/crab cakes combo. It came with a house salad, which was lettuce, tomato and onions. I was not asked about dressing so I was given the waitress choice. It didn't matter because no dressing would have helped the salad. The crab legs were the skinniest crab legs I have ever seen. Probably not even 2 decent bites of crab meat in the whole cluster. The crab cakes were inedible. They were very mushy and I think they forgot to put the crab meat in them. The restroom had a "garbage " odor to it and was very unpleasant. The waitress had an attitude and was not friendly at all ( maybe she had eaten dinner there before she started serving.). All in all it was an expensive meal that wasn't even good. My friend even suggested that all of the "good reviews " must have been written by family members of the owners. I could not in good conscience recommend this restaurant to anyone. First time trying Crab Station, and it will be our last! 1. The food was very disappointing for the price -- $65 for all-you-can-eat crab or $40 for shrimp. Everything lacked seasoning. The fried shrimp was crunchy but tasteless unless dipped in sauce, and the shrimp scampi was the same. 2. The nachos with cheese were far too salty, with rock salt still on the chips. 3. There were flies inside the restaurant, even around the tables. 4. Service was slow; our waters were never refilled even after asking. 5. Honestly, they need a new head chef. 6. For what they charge, you'd expect far better food and service. 7. The outside of the building looks nice, but inside it felt more like a Waffle House or Walmart inside. 1 star. Yes, seafood is expensive. I get that but this is wow through the roof. I guess they have to do that for the people who can actually eat. I have had a cancer in my stomach and had to remove part of it to remove the cancers. I can eat very little, but I love seafood, and I would love to go in here and eat, but they would not even let me order off the kids menu. I can't pay $60 for me to eat one and a half crab legs literally! Management was overly rude about it. We took our party of eight and went elsewhere. Went there a year ago with just husband and I , food, service and atmosphere were all amazing. Our son's birthday was today and he wanted surf and turf, so we told him about here so he wanted to give it a try. So us three and our daughter, boyfriend, 1 1/2 year old grandson and 8 week old granddaughter all met there for dinner. When arriving they sat us in the room off the main dining area, kinda cold for a 37 degree day and for two small children. When waiting for our daughter and her family we got our pop and were told we would get bread. They arrived and no bread in sight. Our waitress took our order. As our food started to come out, it came out in double orders in one bowl, not separately as our own meals. We then had to separate our own food. Annoying. At that the food was at most room temperature not even hot, as if it was old and we were there at 7:15 at night. When waitressing took our initial order she never came back to check on drinks, see how food was or to see if we would like to put in more orders seeing it's all you can eat. We ate our few dishes which are little portions and sat there with nothing else to eat and my husband had no drink at all with his food. Finally my husband was loud enough about being irritated about having nothing to drink that another waitress had heard him and said something to our server and she came. We not only had horrible service, horrible food but horrible seating and atmosphere. When you are paying a $189.00 bill for three people you expect way better service, food and atmosphere. Yes the server got a good tip because I am not that way. Great service and kindness goes along way. Will not be going back and surely will be telling everyone we know and clients not to go there. Tried this restaurant last night with friends, should have read the reviews. We ordered the $39.95 meal. Soup was the size of a sample, not even a cup. Crab legs were hard to crack open the shell was too soft and very little meat. Scallops and shrimp were mostly breading and fries were terrible. Store bought frozen food would have been better. Our family beat the rush for Father's Day and went to Crab Station on Saturday. Got there at 3:00 and were seated almost immediately. The floor under our table had not been cleaned. It was sticky and a lot of crumbs. Two of our group went for the all you can eat. I had the Seafood Fiesta. Would have been nice to know that the soup and salad was 4oz sampler sized. When it was set on the table I thought it was a dipping sauce plate. The breading on the fried shrimp is very thick. Almost to the point you can't find the shrimp. Breaded fried scallops... not a fan as these were over cooked. Our family LOVES AYCE crab legs. On that front we were not disappointed. Ours were fresh and well cooked. Also nice to have AYCE desserts along with the meal. Overall we had a good meal. read more

My wife and I tried out Crab Station last evening for the first time. We decided to try items from the a la cart list. She got the Shrimp cocktail, not being very hungry. They were very tender, maybe too much so, not sure but she got sick in the middle of the night with them coming out both ends. I ate two of them with no issue. I ordered the Coconut Shrimp. They were also very tender, and very good, as was the accompanying dipping sauce. I also ordered lobster mac and cheese. But it came with (an unnamed in menu) spice included that hid the lobster flavor. "Fail" IMHO I also ordered a bowl of Lobster or Crab Bisque to go for $9.00. Got home and found not even a hint of any seafood pieces in it. The service was great, Jen did an excellent job of caring for us. And the atmosphere was fine, and clean. The pretzels were rock hard and cheese cold and nasty. The Mac n cheese just bland and not good. I stopped tasting after so long. The price for bland, nasty food is very unappealing! I am shocked by some of these reviews. We have been here several times and have never been disappointed. The crab legs are fresh and delicious every time. You have your choice of sides on this menu and they are sides not huge portions because you are getting all you can eat of your main choice- and your sides are unlimited - if you want another bowl of the bisque you can get as many as you want... Price is absolutely reasonable. The amount of food for the price is well worth it here. We have always had good service too. sometimes it has been busier than others but we have never had a bad experience. Try it out! And if you dont understand how the menu works- which we had to ask the first time also- they are extremely helpful- just ask!! Thumbs up for us!! read more

We had a waitress who explained the all u can eat. Well she brings the bill and it not anything that she said, she lied and said you can't share food which she did not say at all. She did not do a good job at all our bill was high but we said that ok we will never return. I believe she did it on purpose, but I have the funds to pay a bill. But she was horrible. Now for the food! The salad was fine and then they bring u all these sides 1. They r cold 2. The ribs look burnt up and dry 3. The sample were cold as well as dry pretzel bite hard as rocks. 4. Mac and cheese some kind of crab seasoning. I always like to have experience the only reason to go is to eat a bucket full of crabs. That's it period! As of my waitress my lunch bill pay mid her tip so maybe she will learn how to be truffle next with someone else. This was our first time there and it was awesome. I went with 5 other friends and we had a blast. The all you can eat is really a great meal. I'm not a big guy and can't eat a lot, but my friends sure did! This isn't an inexpensive meal, but it is fairly priced for what you get. The service was awesome with friendly staff. They kept everything coming as long as we wanted it. Two of the guys had three steaks along with their meals! Don't think giant crab like you get on the coasts, you'll have to work at these to get much meat. But, they were prepared well with lots of butter available. read more

The service here was fantastic. We showed up less than an hour before close on accident, (we forgot to check their hours before deciding to give them a try). The servers were extremely personable and kind to us. Not once did we feel rushed or like an inconvenience. Chris was our server and he did an amazing job and made our night. We felt bad for showing up so late, but I'm honestly grateful that we did because the service was the highlight of our day. The crabs were so small and there was a lot of work for little reward. They didn't have very much meat in them, and the baby clams were so tiny, You could hardly taste them. The brussels sprouts were really good and the calamari was over breaded. The worst part was the appetizers that I didn't finish. I would've wanted to say for my lunch and they wouldn't let me take it home. So where does all that leftover food that I paid for that I didn't finish go? I planned a weekend trip for my husband's birthday. It all centered around the Crab Station since no where near Findlay is an AYCE crab legs which is his favorite. I can not express enough how amazing the food was! The lobster bisque is the BEST I've ever had! The price is great with all the food you get!! I'd give you 10 stars if I could! My son took me here for my birthday. We really looked for a fantastic meal but were disappointed. After visiting other restaurants owned by these people we were anxiously awaiting our first trip here. The previous reviews were not very good but maybe some of them are accurate. We ordered the all-you-can-eat crab dinner. First was a very small sample of crab bisque. Good but have had larger samples at warehouse clubs.Next came side dishes. Clams in wine/butter sauce. About 30 in the dish but there were over half of them without clams. The remaining dishes were all served at room temperature at best, some even cold. Finally the crab legs were served and they were hot. There were no shortages on refills of the crab however they were not very good.. It seems they were steamed, steamed and reheated as they were nor cracking fresh and most were so rubbery you could bot crack them open.My final observation is that it seems nothing is prepared or cooked on-site. Everything is pre-cooked and reheated and served just like we buy at grocery stores. Only one positive was our service was above excellant. Fast, efficient and complete. Maybe with time, this new place will improve but who knows.. Good luck to them and you readers if you decide to try it. read more

Loved my experiences at DP Jackson.. never had a bad meal, so i was excited to try Crab Station.... The place is clean, we were greeted when we entered. We went at lunch time so it was not too packed. We asked for a booth and were told they could only sit us at a table. The tables are not very comfortable. Our server came a took our order and the food came out promptly and it was hot. Salad- brown, soggy wilted mess! Took one bite and pushed to the side Breadstick- hard as a rock! The Alfredo sauce was warm Mozzarella stick- not the best quality, you could tell they are a bulk freezer item Baked Potato - really good. Cooked well Corn- clearly has been re-heated = not very good Lobster bisque -warm, good flavor Ribs-tasty but an unnecessary addition Crab-very good! Hot flavorful and they kept are bowl full Shrimp- could find a better quality fried shrimp Cheesecake- Besides the crab was probably one of the best things on the menu Service-The young guy who brought out the food was Awesome! He was polite and was very helpful. Our actual server was not the best we had to ask for our drink 3 times before they came out mid meal Overall not the greatest experience but not the worst. I think scaling down the options for the all you can eat seafood and focusing on making those items better quality would be helpful. My husband and I ate here for the first time yesterday. It was kind of a strange experience. The menu's are all over the place. We ended up getting the AUCE crab legs. You can order lots of sides as well. The sides come out first of course to fill you up. The first round of crab legs were fine but as we asked for more, there were lots of legs missing from the crab. It almost looked like they were leftovers that were re-heated or steamed. Some didn't even have any meat in them. So after we were finished eating, we asked if we could take our leftover sides home. We were told you aren't allowed to take anything out and it tells you that on the back of the menu. Ok. Some of our sides were not even touched and the waitress started removing them from our table before we even get the check. Were they going to re-serve those as well? Who knows. We spent over $150 and were very disappointed. I do have to say the chicken wings were awesome. Everything else... not worth the money. read more

Went to here to celebrate a birthday with family with a party of 10. Came here due to experience eating at DP Jackson Steakhouse which has been positive. Some food was good but overall whole experience was very poor. To start, I showed up about 45 mins after everyone else to the restaurant due to getting off work late. The food came probably about 1.25 hrs after everyone else had arrived. It seemed that communication was a major issue as multiple things were entered in wrong by the server or brought out wrong by the staff. About half the table did the all you could eat crab and we only had one refill of crab legs so we weren't here all night eating crab legs. The crab was good and well cooked. The Delmonico steak ordered was cold when it came out and the baked potato was undercooked. The staff also seemed confused about the items that were on the menu. A filet was brought out instead of bacon wrapped filet bites and staff didn't think bacon wrapped filet bites were on the menu. Another person ordered steak and shrimp mac and cheese and never received it in the three hours we were there despite mentioning this to multiple staff plus had a charge for a side of mac and cheese on the bill. The waitress took this off but admitted this was what was put in as the order. Like I said it seemed that communication/ organization seemed to be the main issues. For the price at about $50+ a person, this was truly a let down especially having previous experiences at DP Jackson Steakhouse. Staff were friendly but orders kept being wrong or one staff would say they would take care of something and it never happened. For example, we asked three times for a plate that took about 15-20 minutes to get and drink refills took up to 20 mins or so to get at times. Just a really rough night of service for us with some people having food quality/ order issues. Hopefully, this was an off night and as it is open longer things get smoother/ better but we probably won't be back. read more
