It was dark and rainy and we were hungry in a place we've never been before. Crabby's shined like a beacon on the bay! There were only a couple other people dining there; to be fair, the entire town was pretty quiet in anticipation of Hurricane Ian the following day. So, we were seated right away, orders taken and food brought out super quickly. Everything was tasty and we enjoyed our meal. The location of Crabby's is quite pretty, as well. It sits right on the bay, with boat docks nearby and a sort of plaza of shops. Tons of parking and apparently other things to do there, during a regular, non-stormy day. Give it a try! read more

Please DO NOT Eat here. In the picture is the left overs from the stuffed shrimp. A lot of stuffing. Food was just a little warm, not hot. Not good food/taste. We went as 2 couples. Had to wait about 20 minutes for a table to open, so we hit the upstairs bar. Rude bar tender who knew nothing about beers on tap except she could read the lable. Food: The fish and clams combo was ok; the seafood pot pie on the specials menu was very good; the shrimp and griits was the best I've had anywhere. Service: Sky was our server and she's one of the best we've ever met. She more than made up for the rude bartender. Sky was attentive, interested in us, helpful and kind. And she's cute as can be. A real sweetheart. Too bad she'll be reassigned to a new location. Ambiance: both indoor and outdoor seating. Comfortable setting. For such a busy area, I was glad there wasn't much of a wait here. They accommodated our group of five and we were also able to sit near a window upstairs. Views are amazing. I had the peach lemonade which was great. There is a bar; I was just not drinking today. I ordered the New York strip with mashed potatoes and broccoli. It was ok. Nothing too fancy. The others tried chicken parm, crabby's oysters, burger, and tacos. I don't think anyone really loved their meal. Edible, yes. Great, no. Restaurant has nice water views which is a plus. Most places with a great view, in my opinion, tend to only have fair food. Ours was a bit mixed. Drinks, we're fair. I had a Long Island iced tea, and while it definitely had a decent amount of alcohol in it, it wasn't a tasty Long Island. My wife said hers was a bit too sweet, so neither of us wanted seconds. Food. My wife had a grouper sandwich and she said it was actually pretty good, she is gluten free and the restaurant does seem to be a bit accommodating of that, so that's appreciated. I didn't have a big appetite, so I had hush puppies and boneless wings. Puppies were fine, and the wings tasted fine, but were fairly cool to barely warm when they came out, which is a definite peeve of mine. Staff were friendly and helpful. We have been to Crabby's Dockside many times and love the food. We were looking forward to bringing our grandson and sitting up on the top floor so he could look out at the Marina and enjoy the food and view from your great venue. We have never had a wait during "high season" so didn't anticipate that at the end of April. A half hour wait - not long but only seating in the downstairs area. There was ample seating outdoors on the sidewalk area with only one table being used, but the same wait. We went next door and walked right in. Disappointed. read more

We wanted to find a place for good seafood by the water. This place definitely fit the bill. The food was good as well as the service. We both enjoyed a grouper platter which was done very well. The views from the restaurant were lovely. Only thing I would say was a negative was the ambience, it was more like a whole in the wall kind of place, definitely not one to get dressed up to have dinner. Since we like restaurants that are a little nicer I don't see us coming back anytime soon. read more

After being trapped inside for over a year we started making our way into the daylight once again. One of our first trips out was a visit with friends at Crabby's Dockside in Ft. Pierce. I give Ft. Pierce great credit for the hard work they've put into the downtown area and you'll find Crabby's at the marina dock at the end of Avenue A. We found our visit there thoroughly enjoyable and the ambiance is why you come to Florida. It's a little touristy but the staff is friendly and the food is decent. On the weekends there's music and it's the perfect place to hang out by the water, eat baked oysters and slug down cold beer. Definitely try the baked oysters and the shrimp boil. The sandwiches are fat and the menu is deep. Plenty of outdoor seating but not in July. Just too hot. Inside is fine and we had a great time. read more

Firstly, let's give 5 stars for the view and ambiance. You can forget you're in Ft Pierce. Thumbs up to the layout, look and feel for this year old restaurant. We started with margaritas. Very good. Crabbys baked oysters ($18) got my attention. A dozen on shell oysters topped w garlic butter, seasonings and Parmesan cheese. The melted cheese shrink wrapped the oyster meat onto the shell. Unique and tasty but with brine, butter and Parmesan it's too salty for my taste. The house salad topped with chicken was substantial. Try the house dressing of mango pineapple balsamic on the side. I often shy from stuffed seafood dishes. Usually the breading, or seafood stuffing, masks the sea fare. I ventured into the menu and chose the stuffed shrimp ($18)--royal red shrimp butterflied and filled with that ol' stuffing and then topped with beurre blanc sauce Yep. Shoulda gone with my gut. Soggy breading. Ugh. I salvaged the shrimp underneath it. My two sides were a half ear of corn (good, but who got the other half?) and rosemary fingerling potatoes; a creepy starch that lacked rosemary and tasted.....musty. Yes. Musty. The service was slow for a 5:30 Sunday but Nicole was pleasant and attentive. Beachside Hospitality Group owns this place and others on both coasts. We'll be back but will probably stick to something "basic". read more

We arrived and were told that the wait was 45 minutes to 1 hour. We decided to have a drink at the downstairs bar. The bartender was cordial and very attentive to our needs as he was also receiving multiple drink orders from servers as well as tending to the bar customers, He gets a 5 star rating. After about 35 minutes were were summoned to a table upstairs. We expected to see a crowded restaurant as we initially were told that there was a 45 minute to 1 hour wait. When we went upstairs, the entire area had only 3 other tables that were occupied. When I asked the waitress who was extremely courteous and efficient, why did we have to wait so long when the place was literally empty ? her reply was the kitchen is short on staff and can only accommodate so many so they hold you up while they catch-up. Now to the food, Oysters were the best part of the meal. The Hogfish and the Grouper sandwich were overcooked and dry. food rating is 2 Stars. The ambiance is lacking as the inside is sterile and uninviting. Although not many people were in the upstairs dining area, it wsa loud. I can imagine the noise level when full. Of course the view of the boats in harbour was nice but the windows are too high. overall I would rate it a 2 star at best. It certainly cannot compare to the Tiki Bar, which it sadly replaced, We will not be back for a second try. read more

Quality food and good service. Excellent views. We really wanted to put the restaurant through its paces, so for lunch, we shared panko-encrusted scallops. Avocado egg rolls, calamari, beignets, and key lime pie. We were surprised that the scallops came in a sauce, which sort of defeated the "crust," but it was tasty, sort of like Alfredo butter sauce. The egg rolls were HOT HOT HOT! Which wasn't mentioned on the menu, and meant I couldn't eat them, but if you like spicy food, they were very fresh and well-prepared. The calamari was very good. The cherry peppers in the calamari were both hot and pickled. Not to my taste, but my husband will eat them. The key lime pie was very good. The beignets were both wonderful and disappointing. They were perfectly cooked to crispness and the batter was excellent. But they were cooked in oil that had been used for other things, so the taste was compromised. Also, they were very fat, so the inside wasn't quite cooked, and if they'd been cooked longer, the outside would have been overcooked. Flattening them a bit before frying would fix this. All in all, good food and we'll return. read more

Came in for dinner on a Sunday evening and wasn't impressed. We had heard this is a great place to enjoy a meal on the water, but the poor service couldn't make up for the view. Our server seemed either unaware or didn't care. We had to ask for multiple items more than once including drinks, refills, napkins, silverware...well - you get the picture. And while the food was good (for clarity; this is not a high compliment), one of our friends that ordered shrimp tacos found that they hadn't peeled them completely before making the tacos! Really?!?! And then no offer to take it off the check or anything to compensate a meal that wasn't even eaten. I wasn't impressed and with all of the water view places to eat - I will be sure to take my business elsewhere. Not a good meal and not a good dining experience. read more

Appetizer Calamari l could've had a little more flavor but the fried banana pepper mixed in was delicious. I would recommend. It came out fairly quickly. Main meal The shrimp poboy and seafood pasta needed alooot of flavor. Adding seasoning should not be the job of a paying customer. The pasta was dry and sticking together but I do commend that they were generous on the seafood portion. Drinks The drinks were decent, - the drink in the picture could've used more alcohol, tasted like juice. The Grand Corona was a good choice for my partner. Server The server was attentive and nice. Host Hosts should never tell a customer no on where they want to be seated. If it messes with the "rotation" you double up on the server who was skipped or have the server who it was going to go to tend to the table in that section and swap the one table in their section until they can switch back. Price The price was reasonable considering what we ordered. Wait Time Not much of a wait 10 minutes max for a Friday afternoon. Parking There's plenty of pay parking. Restrooms Clean Decor/Music Beautiful view of the water and boats, current and relevant music. Acessibility Has a ramp for wheelchairs but will not be able to go up second floor as there are no elevators and steps are steep. read more

While on vacation in the area, I was in the downtown Ft. Pierce area when I decided to try Crabby's for a weekday lunch. The first thing I noticed is what it wasn't...that is to say most of the eating establishments I'd been in during the week were local, "Mom and Pop" types. Crabby's appears to be of a corporate ownership, not sure if it's even in Florida. It just kind of had that sterile atmosphere...not bad, but you could plug it into Anywhere USA and it'd fit. I did have a chuckle when I heard Jimmy Buffet in elevator-style Muzak LOL. Moving on, the servers also seemed kinda corporate. Nice, but just phoning it in and not all that attentive. We started off with rum buckets, which were of a size that that's all the drink you'd need to last through lunch! The food we had was actually pretty good. Apps of Crabby's Baked Oysters and Oysters "Crabafella" were standard oyster dishes that understood the assignment. Since it was lunch, I had a shrimp PoBoy. Although not the best I've had, it was good, and filling. For a side, I had a cob of the Caribbean street corn (well seasoned but a bit dry). The best item that we had was the sea scallops. These were perfectly seared, and served on creamed corn and topped with cherrywood bacon....YAAAS! I'd definitely recommend them. Another observation on the atmosphere is if you sit outdoors upstairs there's a nice view of the water, and a refreshing (sometimes strong) breeze off the water to keep it cool on summer days. In summation, I felt the price point was a bit high for the value I received. Overall, let's give Crabby a 3.75 * rating. read more

A lot of money spent to build this sterile waste. The location is great. The view is nice. It's at the Fort Pierce Marina. More times than not, the draft beer is good. So many places in the area simply have no care about beer quality. If the beer is bad, the food doesn't matter. Why is it OK to serve bad beer? Had fish & chips my last visit.
