Diamond in the rough. It's nothing to look at on the outside - in fact, when we arrived, there was a dead frog by the front door and my wife hesitated to even go in. But I insisted. Once we got inside, it has a nice open atmosphere and we were immediately seated at the bar and waited on by a really friendly bartender. We actually came for the crab bisque and were blown away by how good it was - THAT'S how you make a good she crab soup. We also got the fried plantains (amazing) and the cracked conch sandwich (really good). This little hole in the wall was the best restaurant we visited on our entire 2-week vacation in South Carolina & Florida, and we went to a LOT of places. Awesome little seafood joint that made me feel like I was Anthony Bourdain stumbling into a friendly local joint. The place itself is super beachy and you can tell it's where all the locals go! We started off with two beers at the bar and then ordered the wild caught shrimp (Argentine Red Shrimp, also called Ruby Reds), then the Crabby Platter for two - so much fun to take a cracker to those claws and just go to town!! Lots of warm butter with this bad boy. We also did their pasta with 4 day boat scallops. I was so full after the crab platter, I'm not sure why he ordered the pasta, but in any case, I thought the the pasta was okay, nothing special. He also ordered one of their rum cake deserts. Holy crap was I full. Anyway, fun spot, local seafood, not terrible expensive. I highly recommend it!! read more

Gettin Crabby is now called Crabby's it's the same place food etc. It's a little hole in the wall on Salerno Road that serves up some great fresh fish. We went for a late lunch early dinner and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Place is casual the owner was pleasant said hello and our waitress was friendly and attentive. She told us the specials gave us ample time to look over menu. We started with the hot crab and spinach dip, excellent! My husband got the special, triple tail, lightly blacken with fry's and coleslaw, all delicious. I ordered the Captain Platter came with mahi-mahi, scallops, fried shrimp, coleslaw and fry's. A fun place and have music on weekends we heard. I would go back and definitely do recommend this place to eat. Take note of new sign they were just installing it while we were there enjoying our meal, it's now called Crabby's. read more

The environment is this awesome "Greasy spoon" -when it really isn't- with comfortable seats, a fun bar, friendly, kind, servers, and a fun bartender. The food is beyond excellent. I get their crab cake or my husband and I share the steak and snow crab. The plantain is a melt-in-your-mouth treat, and the crab is the adventure with the big, nutcracker, and a cold beer, with good music and conversation. :) Can't recommend enough. read more

Divey, local seafood place in the heart of port Salerno. They have beer and wine. Service has always been great and we've been able to make reservations no problem. From soft shell crab, to cracked conch, to local fish and even steak crabbys delivers. You can get your fish pan fried, grilled, blackened, or fried so everyone should find a preparation they like. The conch fritters actually have conch in them! The tomato cucumber salad has a really delicious garlicky dressing. The cilantro rice is well seasoned and the plantains are cooked perfectly. My only suggestion is to cook the steak fries a little bit longer so they are more crispy. Otherwise crabbys is my local no frills seafood go too. read more

The family and I came here last night! The food and service was great. My husband and I had the Captain's platter and it was plentiful. The scallops were perfect. We both had our platters with blackened food. My FIL had one of the specials that entailed triple tail fish with lobster meat on top and some butter sauce; it was so good! I'll order that one myself next time I'm there and they offer it. My MIL had the crab cakes and shrimp. They were some of the best crab cakes I've ever had. We've been coming here for at least 15 years and Gettin' Crabby has long been a family favorite (it's the last restaurant in which I enjoyed a meal with my beloved late Dad) but moving overseas means it's been 2 years since our last visit. Well, we've just returned home from a wonderful evening at Crabby's (I guess they dropped the Gettin') and although it's low season, August doldrums, it was such a treat. A live band was playing, and what looked like mostly locals were happily eating and drinking at the bar providing plenty of atmosphere. Food was fresh and tasty, drinks cold and frosty, but what absolutely made our evening extra special was our server Michelle. She's a star, and completely made our night. Honestly the locale is a little dingy, and I was second guessing myself at first, however the food was phenomenal! We had the deep sea shrimp appetizer and we each ordered the catch of the day, three tail fish, blackened. I had the tomatoes and cucumber salad and plantains, hubby had the coleslaw and fries. The fish was buttery and spicy, the plantains just how my grandma used to make, the slaw was fresh, the French fries were thick and crispy, the tomato and cucumber side had a delicious pesto dressing. The service was also perfect, very welcoming and friendly staff. Go. Now. Cons: The place could use a little sprucing up, but having said that the bathrooms were clean, which is a huge plus for me. I have been coming down to Stuart since I was born and this was the first time we came to Gettin Crabby! I can't believe it. The food was so good and their crab legs were delicious. The fried food was super heavy but the flavors were really good. We sat at this little bar which was fine, but that's because of how busy they were. It was hopping! When my wife saw the storefront she didn't want to go in, when she stepped in and looked at the inside she was ready to go back out until I convinced her the reviews were great. The Florida royal red shrimp tasted like lobster but better, then the fried oysters were lightly breaded, plump and juicy. We are seafood foodies with a home on the ocean on the caribbean with fresh seafood brought to our door. Not only is everything fresh, but cooked as good as anything we have had in New Orleans.
