We had my dad's 70th birthday celebration at their private event room and it was a perfect set-up. The restaurant is clean and modern. I love the industrial modern look. There were 15 of us and the servers did an excellent job on getting our orders correct and having them arrive at the same time. I really appreciated that. I ordered the blueberry pancakes w/bacon and side of potatoes. Portions are generous! Pancakes are fluffy & delicious. Bacon was my fav, perfect crisp to them. My husband ordered the meatloaf sandwich w/fries and he thought it was very tasty. I took a star off my review because a handful of people ordered the corned beef hash and they all said the dish barely had meat in them and it costs $20! Kind of a bummer. Overall our celebration was perfect and this restaurant is great for big parties. Special thanks to Lonnie, their even coordinator, for making it so easy to plan it all. I really wanted to like this place, but our food was mediocre at best to not edible at worst. I ordered a winter salad that was described as having "crispy pancetta." What I got was soggy & undercooked and flavored the whole salad with a greasy film. I complained & was given a Caesar salad instead. Our waiter was gracious & accommodating. Cannot say enough good things about this fantastic restaurant in Poulsbo. My husband and I enjoyed an amazing brunch before the holidays, and then returned with Neighbors on our court to celebrate a new year and our amazing community. Both brunch and dinner were fantastic. This restaurant is beautiful to say the least!! It has a bookshelf style bar with a private lounge area. They have an open kitchen so you are able to see your food being cooked if you'd like to. It's perfect for date night very romantic! And the drinks are absolutely delicious, everything is fresh! no syrups! The waiters are very nice and knowledgeable. Seriously Underwhelming We went to Crabtree to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Everything we had was mediocre, at best. The artichoke salad, which sounded amazing and flavorful on the menu, with arugula, green olives and picked carrots, was completely unremarkable - I'm not even sure how it could taste so bland. The crab cakes were about 2" diameter each, completely basic, and didn't have the succulent crab flavor one would expect from fresh made crab cakes. My husband's $42 halibut was firm and very over cooked. The pears in the romaine/pancetta/ pear salad were unripe so as to be a little crunchy, presumably, but they had no sweetness. Wow- $150.00+ meal and not one of us came away saying "oh, that was good." read more

I liked this place for the ambiance and service. Very open and welcoming and modern. Interesting menu. Not large, but everyone will find something to choose. Our party of four was quickly seated even without a reservation. We all went with variations of the salmon, either salads or the BLT. I tried the Caesar salad with salmon. Caesar was pretty dry and had no dressing to speak of, pretty much just romaine lettuce and a couple of lonely croutons. Filet of salmon on top was thin, dry and overcooked. Prices were on the high side for quality of the food, but in line with the area and atmosphere. My system is three stars for restaurants to which I will return, four stars for restaurants at which I would like to be a regular, and five stars for restaurants to which I would drive out of my way. Although not completely pleased with this place, I would come back to give it another try. read more

The problem is the food had the dry aged steak the meatloaf and other items. Nice atmosphere with professional service. I had the aged rib eye cut which was flavorful, but an inferior cut , abundant in fat and not tender for a medium rare cook. I could have found a better cut at Safeway. Salad was very presentable but lacked any balsamic flavor that it was supposed to have. The child's menu spaghetti was not a spaghetti noodle, not even close. The menu lacked appropriate pricing on steaks and listed price per ounce. If you're serving a 16 , 24, or whatever ounce steak, list the price on the menu. People can understand paying $60_$80 for a steak if it's cooked properly and it's a good cut. Include the vegetable in the cost of the meal. No one wants to pay $10 for a dab of potato or a small vegetable portion. At this price mark, Crabtree Kitchen needs to up front on cost and ensure steaks served are only of the highest quality. If I'm going to pay this much for a steak, I don't want to lose half the cut to fat and what's not digestible . read more

My husband and I were celebrating my birthday and went here for Sunday brunch (we've eaten here before but not for brunch) there were lots of options on the menu and both my husband and I were very pleased with our choices. Great service and the food was delicious. Smoked salmon omelette was the best omelette I've had in Kitsap county. And the biscuits and gravy was the "best in the state" according to my Southern husband... and an impressively large portion too. Walked in Saturday nite with reservations and first impressions were positive. Appears to be a steak house and a chalk board listed various cuts. Upon seating we were greeted pleasantly and informed that the only steaks remaining were 28 ounces and above! Mind you this is at 7:00 on Saturday and they are out of steaks unless a burgers is considered a steak! Rather than go for the $98 steak I choose one of 6 burgers. I learned to be grateful as the burger was well done but requested as medium rare. If that's how they prepare burgers I am glad I didn't waste my money on a steak. Poblano chili on the burger was uncooked, not even roasted. French fries were ok but room temp. Salad was ok but I think it was pre-made and came out of a bag. Two of our party had salmon that had any taste removed by over cooking. This place was a food disaster and I couldn't recommend. read more

So I'm going to start this review by saying that this restaurant just opened recently and they have not fully opened on a regular schedule. At this time they are only doing weekend brunch while dialing in a few more things such as menu offerings, staff and the general flow of things. So I'm tempering this one with that information. I made a reservation ahead of time for Mother's Day Brunch and was seated promptly upon our arrival. So of course my tip here is going to be, make use of the reservation system. I see a lot of reviews stating that it took a long time to get seated. I had no such problems at all. So again, make use of the reservation system, it clearly works. Let's talk about the decor, shall we? This entire building is stunning, housing several different businesses (The ground floor is home to High Spirits, a very large liquor, beer and wine store as well as housing the chocolate factory and cafe of ChocMo, where you can also get paninis, crepes and espresso. The top floor is home to Vibe Coworks, a shared work space and this restaurant). The design is a modern, industrial take showing off some of the building's structure and playing on a more raw, unfiltered look. It's a stunning space that is pleasing to just simply look at and enjoy. Our server was great, very attentive, friendly and helpful. We got drink refills before running out, we were greeted in a timely manner, no complaints here. Now, I'm gonna complain a bit here about the menu, so bear with me. Being a special Mother's Day Brunch the menu was not posted on the Facebook page or anything, so we were kind of going into this blind, but more for the experience of dining here. My wife doesn't like eggs, and I was a bit let down when we were greeted with a menu that consisted of 4 different Benedict choices and the only "non-egg" thing I could find for her was pancakes. Not a sexy dish after driving an hour and a half from Tacoma, but we move on. Now, I'm a Benedict fan, so I was kind of torn between the Tenderloin Benedict and the Avocado Benedict, finally settling on the Tenderloin Benedict after asking my waitress her favorite and also the reality that they do source their beef from a family owned farm and they also age it in house, so the chances of it being really spectacular beef are pretty high. I felt that the tenderloin was a bit over cooked, leaning on being dry, and the Hollandaise was a bit bland and thin. Now, keep in mind, I've eaten tons of Benedicts all across this Country, so I tend to be a bit of a Benedict snob and the fine details will make or break a good Benedict. Was I 100% pleased with this one? No. Would I order it again? Yup. But I think I would probably try the Avocado Benedict the next time and go from there. I think, had they either pulled that tenderloin a couple minutes sooner or not let it rest as long, it would have been perfect. As for the "non-egg" options, I'm still baffled as to why they didn't offer a simple breakfast sandwich. They had all the parts on the menu already. You're serving Benedicts that are on an English Muffin, you have bacon and that tenderloin already on the menu. Why not drag out some cheese and offer a simple breakfast sandwich, which could have easily been ordered without the egg on it? Served with a side of fresh fruit (which was also already being offered) this would have solved a huge problem for those who don't like eggs and were looking for something more that pancakes. I also want to point out that my wife's pancakes, while listed on the menu with chocolate chips, came with no chocolate chips. Which to me is a shame considering that there's an entire chocolate factory literally a single flight of stairs away. I'm giving this one 4 stars based on the following summary: The service was great, I had zero complaints there. The decor is stunning, it really is beautiful. And finally, the food was good enough to bring me back next time I'm in the area. Everything tempered with the reality that they are not fully up to speed and are still very new to even open the doors. I'm looking forward to seeing the dinner menu once they get up and fully running. Then we will give it another go. read more

We live in Poulsbo and dine out regularly. Hoping to stay close to home for Thanksgiving, we booked in October, a reservation, (4 guests) for Thanksgiving dinner, at Crabtree. On November 1st we called to find out what special items might be on the menu for Thanksgiving, but were told they had nothing decided yet. The following week, now November 8th we received a call that Crabtree was closing for Thanksgiving. This was very upsetting considering our guests are traveling and now will return to no reservations anywhere. This last minute notice is unprofessional and inconsiderate. We certainly cannot make other reservations now. This is not our first inconsiderate/disappointing experience at Crabtree. We do not plan to consider going there in the future. Rough experience last night at Crabtree. We sat at the bar, it took quite awhile for us to be acknowledged or be asked for our order. The single bartender was extremely busy and possibly working injured? Heard a few audible yelps of pain while hustling around behind the bar. Saturday night with one bartender for the entire restaurant!? Feel bad for them to be honest. They have a VERY impressive whiskey stash but they don't have a list. Am I supposed to ask your overworked bartender the price of every bottle? Like that Pappy 20 year? Or the Old Fitz 17? Or all the BTACs? How about the Wellers? Oooh, which Bookers batch is that!? We can barely be acknowledged, asking for prices of each bottle is dumb. Don't make your customers do this. Don't make your staff do this! My hunch is these bottles are just for show. So, I ordered a beer... which there was a list for and it included prices I ordered the cod & chips. Thick, chewy breading concealing tough, flavorless fish - complete with 4-5 pin bones I was lucky enough to crunch on while eating. While trying to enjoy my not-so-great meal, distracting staff conversations about how the "busy" bar was too much for the bartender to handle and they needed to limit bar seating. The bar was maybe 50% full, restaurant maybe 25% full. Felt to me like ownership is pinching pennies by limiting staff rather than giving the team the resources they need to be successful and give diners a good experience. On the way out we were told "Sorry it was crazy tonight" by one staff member. No reason to come back to this poorly run restaurant. read more

(Wish I had taken photos.) We sat in the bar area and really enjoyed the seriously top-notch bartender. Pathetic. I ordered a $48 filet cooked rare. Rare means red center. What I was given was sort of pink in the center, and dry. The server, who was an excellent server, offered another filet - so I get to watch my wife eat for 15 minutes, or a 'free' desert. No wonder the place was almost empty. I'm so glade we were able to go back and dine in finally with lifted restrictions. My husband order the burger with onion bacon jam and I order the halibut with polenta and roasted tomato was so flavorful and tender. Currently the menu is limited more than usual due to Eveythibg going on but there is definitely something for everyone m. Nothing over powered the lovely meatiness of the fish and it was still the star of the plate. My husband loves the dark and stormy cocktail it's well balanced drink. I attended the "Chinese" pop-up event Jan 29, 2020 to celebrate the Chines New Year to dine on superb dumplings with Jimmy Jia, "dumpling extraordinare" as planned and brought 12 other people with me. It was the most awful Chinese food I have ever been served, I also was quite surprised that most of the dishes served were not dumplings or dim sum. The description for the event featured dumpling extraordinaire Jimmy Jia. It sounded great, I thought it was going to be a dim sum meal. We all had this expectation based on your description and feel like we were misled. (tried to find the invite but it was taken down). Armed with two bottles of rose champagne purchased downstairs I arrived on time to see some of my guests who came early were seated and already served food. That bummed me out for starters. I really can't tell you how horrible this food was, it really was inedible. The soup tasted like a cleaning product, the pork was dry and chewy with no sauce. The long beans had some weird pickled vegetable mixed in and tasted sooo wrong. Actually nothing was sauced, everything was dry the edamame beans were cooked to dry. When the potstickers finally arrived we were excited, sadly they were served lukewarm in temperature with no sauce and there was only one kind of potsticker served, and after eating a couple they tasted like a hamburger in the dough. When the sauce was finally delivered to the table it tasted like hoisin diluted with vinegar, also not what the sauce should be and it was horrific. I am so disappointed. We spent over $45 and had to go home and make dinner. Later on that evening about .5 hr later I started to have an allergic reaction on my tongue. Do they use msg or something else? I also had a similar reaction the last time I was there after eating a hamburger. The good things: The staff was good and I loved the fact that everyone got billed separately for their drinks, so I didn't have to try to collect money and figure out the bill. Did anyone at the restaurant taste any of this food? No sauce, dry as bone. My husband had a meat of meat on his plate and when he lifted it there was no mark on the plate, because the meat was completely dry. How could they promote a great dim sum chef and serve one type of potsicker that after eating a couple tasted like a hamburger meat in the dough. Well, I tired enthusiastically and brought several people. I spent a large part of the evening apologizing to everyone to how go awful this was. I wrote the owner the next day and gave Peter a couple of weeks to respond prior to posting this review. There is nothing in here that I haven't already told them. He never responded. So much for community. Crabtree spent a lot of money on this space and it is a great space and beautiful bar, the liquor shop downstairs if great! You should know that the floorboards by the booth near the kitchen bounce and made us feel like there was an earthquake last time we were there, we told our waitress and she said she would pass it on. Good news that doesn't happen in the garden room, though it was difficult to slide the chairs in and out due to the surface of the floor and the bottom of the chairs. They need to put some sort of gliders on the chairs (minor point) Why can't anyone around here serve decent food? Was hoping for something so much better. I should have taken pictures. read more

Food was average at best and cost is very high, probably owners trying to overcharge for the upscale deco they did to initially creating the restaurant. We last went to Crabtree shortly after they opened so thought we would return for brunch with the six of us. We made a reservation and had great seating in the horseshoe booth. Our server was nicely attentive~not too much and not too little. Yes, we always think prices are gone through the roof but paying a few dollars more than a diner for the nicer environment and larger choice of options is worth those few more dollars. Overall the food was very good..two had french toast, one had the ricotta pancakes, two had the Garden Benedict and one had the cauliflower steak. I would say the french toast and the benedicts won the overall taste an plating prizes. Chef Tomas has now made himself present in the restaurant and is raising the level of the food. By 11:30, the brunch crowd was in full swing! Hope it continues to be a place to gather. A new Happy Hour menu has been released per our server. We will be back! read more

This was our first time at Crabtree, and overall we enjoyed it. There was going to be about a 20-minute wait for a table, so we had drinks at their gorgeous bar area. Drinks were creative and delicious. There was a bit of a wait after we were sat until our server came by, but she did acknowledge our wait. We started out with some appetizers-the burrata salad and seared ahi. Both of them had good flavor, but were just a little under seasoned. A dash of salt really helped the flavors come through. All three of us had filets, which were really tasty. However, they were all varying degrees of done-ness, even though we had all ordered medium rare. Mine was closer to medium, almost medium-well, but luckily my husband was willing to switch, as his was more medium-rare to medium. (And the menu kind of guilt trips you about sending back improperly cooked food due to waste, but it seems like that should be more the kitchen's responsibility to ensure it's done right to not be wasteful, not the customer's job to suck it up and eat it anyway). The sides that came with our steaks were also lacking just a little bit of seasoning, unfortunately. Overall, this was a good experience, and I'm sure we'll be back, but I probably won't order steak again given the inconsistency at a higher price point. Very disappointed rest. The wife and I went for a date night, first time going and the food was not good at all. I order the Lamb shank, flavor was good however was not tender at all. It came with Couscous and it was very dry with not flavor almost like a corn bread. My wife ordered the chicken Curry the flavor was good but the chicken was very dry and hard. Only good thing about the place is the atmosphere, the place is not worth going. Do not spend the money for a restaurant that charge what they charge the chef should be embarrassed. We told the Manager and she didn't even care.
