We just left this location on our trip heading to Florida for vacation. Kendall was our server and she did AMAZING!! Party of 8 with 4 of them being kids and she was incredibly sweet and patient with all of our indecisiveness. My youngest daughter just wanted cereal off the kids menu. She finished her bowl and was still hungry and we asked Kendall for more, with every intention of paying for it as a second meal. We did not expect it to be free or considered a "refill." However her managers I guess told her not to do it thinking we were not going to or willing to pay. And proceeded to reprimand her publicly in the restaurant for multiple people to see and was pointing at my daughter stating he told her not to take that cereal out to her. And he called in a second manager who also got onto her where everyone could see. To those managers who assumed and attacked this woman without even assessing the situation, SHAME ON YOU!! We told her we are absolutely paying for the second meal and never intended or expected that to be free. And we apologized to her for getting her in trouble when that was never our intention. To those managers, if a $4 bowl of cereal and milk is such a worry to you, I'll gladly go to the store and buy a whole box for $4 for you to restock up your supply and a gallon of milk. That behavior was completely uncalled for and embarrassing on your part. Have the day you deserve. I decided to check out Cracker Barrel for breakfast, having heard they changed up some things, not necessarily for the better. I must say it was a totally positive experience at the restaurant here in Albany. My eggs were perfectly cooked, the biscuits were just as good as I remembered and everything else in the breakfast platter was hot and properly cooked and flavorful. Great service and timely. And I bought something in the gift shop and the people in there were very personable and helpful. I will be back to try supper and see how they do on this. It is still comforting to have a place where you can get a consistently well prepared meal with good service. It has gone up in price, just like every other restaurant in town. Monday at 7pm, 2 hours before closing, there was no sour dough bread and their coffee batch was expired. I was only told this after waiting for my food and had to eat cold eggs no bread. Pancakes were horrible, they had a chewy consistency, the syrup didn't even help. Service was horrible I didn't even want to shop afterwards, just wanted to get out of there. Lights were on bright! This location SUCKED! They absolutely RUINED my first taste of Cracker Barrel ap badly, I may never go back! The rolls were hard as a rock. The service was slow and uncaring! I ordered a steak and grilled shrimp. Steak med rare. Steak was well done! They were out of the grilled shrimp and brought fried shrimp instead which was way smaller than the picture. As always, the breakfast at Cracker Barrel is unbelievably amazing and cannot be beat. The pancakes are unbelievable and so are the biscuits. Unfortunately, though, we experienced some of the worst service we've ever had. I'm not sure what the stars on the servers' aprons mean, because our server had 4 stars but was one of the worst and meanest servers I've ever had. She constantly sassed our table and acted like we were bothering her simply by ordering. We asked for our coffees after she didn't bring them for 10 minutes and she rudely said "I'm making them." Food also took 35 minutes and they weren't even crowded. I try to give servers the benefit of the doubt, as I do work as a server myself, but there is no excuse to be acting like she was. My grandparents and I came here for Lunch (1:05 on a Tuesday) and were not let down! There was little to no wait and was taken to our table quickly. We were served by Ny. We got seated at 1:05 and got our food around 1:30. My grandma got Chicken and dumplings with green beans and turnip greens, my grandpa got grilled chicken tenders with green beans and turnips and I got Chicken and dumplings with fruit and green beans. Cracker Barrel is our favorite go-to place when we are RVing because it's RV friendly! They have designed parking spaces in the back of the building for RVs. We always go in for dinner or breakfast. It's our first time to this Cracker Barrel in Albany, it's a little further away from the highway. But we find the location is nicer than some others we have been to. There's also some other restaurants around and Lowe's, Walmart near by! Hubby asked our waitress something on the menu, she explained, but kind rude. And, she walked away while she was still taking our orders without saying anything. She brought over drinks, but in double portion! We got two cups of each drink. I was confused. She said, so you don't need to ask for refill. It's kind of waste to me because I sometimes couldn't finish one cup! I had grilled trout with cole slaw and fruit as sides. We visited this store just 2 wks ago to pick up our niece from ABAC and had a really good time. The food was hot and fresh and the service was superb. That's why we decided to visit again on our way back to pick her up again for the holiday break. The waitress, someone named "Shana A" was incredibly rude. We waited nearly 15 minutes for her to come to the table to take our order and even then, she had already taken the drink orders and served the food for the table next to us who came in 15-20 minutes AFTER we arrived. When she finally decided to come back, she was haughty and acted superior as if it was a bother for us to be there. My niece's French toast was cold, and the mac&cheese and mashed potatoes with gravy was instant and canned -- and cold. The fried chicken was somewhat raw on the bone, not thoroughly cooked. The young lady who served us last week was entirely different. We left her a $20 tip, which was a 50% markup to the bill itself. We pay for our service and we were not able to leave 'Shana A' anything because of the slow service, bad attitude and we asked for extra napkins three times, but she brought them only as we were leaving, along with the bread that we never got during the meal. Also, it was my birthday so I had a dessert coming. Was scared to ask for it with her arrogance and bad manners. Date: 12/9/2024 Time: 2:45 PM Needless to say, we won't be back. We called a friend of ours who lives near the area and he said "I could have told you not to go there. They put the CRACKER in Cracker Barrel." I ordered through doordash. Doordash called to tell me they were out of one of he sides I chose. They asked what I wanted to replace it with. Upon receiving my order, the 2nd side was missing. So they were out of both. I ordered chicken and dumplings, with broccoli cheese casserole, fried okra and mac and cheese. Was able to switch one side to hashbrown casserole. The hashbrown was disgusting.. All of it was super bland, with no flavor at all. The cornbread and rolls were super dry and hardned. The only reason this restaurant got a 2 star from me is because I enjoy the Craker Barrel franchise. We have been going to Craker Barrels throughout the country for years. However, this one disappointed me. First of all we waited in line for at least a half hour. That in itself wasn't the issue. The fact that we actually had to wait in a long line was. Normally, they would giv²e us a beeper and we can shop to kill the time. This wasn't done at this location. Secondly, it took a long time for the waitress to come to the table. When she finally came, she didn't bring us the usual biscuits and corn bread along with water and silverware. The biscuits didn't come until we finished our meal and had to ask for them. My water never came. I ordered a Cinnamon Toast Latte. The waitress told me the machine was broken, so instead, I ordered a hot chocolate. When they finally came with my meal, they brought me a latte! Guess the machine was quickly fixed.. It was interesting that I overheard another waiter telling a customer at a nearby table that the latte machine is broken. They have to get their story straight. In spite of the serving difficulties, when our food finally arrived, it was delicious...even the latte! I had the meat loaf and my husband enjoyed the chicken pot pie. read more

Placed an order for pickup, waited 45 min for it when they said it would be 15 minutes and when I got home the order was wrong. Not only was it short two sides, the portions were minuscule! Mash potatoes tastes sour too. This is the second time I have had the order wrong, my bad, I didn't check it before I left. There were other customers who were smart enough to check their orders before they left and were still waiting in the corrections when I left. We've gone to cracker barrel quite often because we travel in our RV a lot and we tend to boondock in the parking lot at night while we're traveling. So I usually feel obligated to eat at the cracker barrel due to their courtesy of allowing us to park. I have to admit the last couple of times I've been here I've been less than satisfied. This recent trip we didn't have very good service and the waitress was inconsistent and a bit gruff. I had the turkey special on Thursday and to be honest it was like eating cafeteria food. There was no seasoning on anything except the apples. My wife had the trout which really was quite good, so maybe that's what we'd recommend if you came here and you like fish. They filled up 1/4 of their own dishes . If my portion size was that out of control, I'd go get a smaller dish so that it didn't look so bad!!! We got two DIFFERENT breakfasts...so TWO opportunities to get it right or very WRONG, which is what happened here. Also, the driver had to wait for 20 minutes for the order to be ready once she got there, so the frozen coffee became very melted...one more mark against Cracker Barrel. It's safe to say that we won't be ordering from here again. Take out service is definitely not a priority at this restaurant!!! read more

Honestly the worst Cracker Barrel we've ever been to. Hostess who sat us was bad mouthing the people she had just seated. We were abruptly seated five minutes later. The restaurant was not crowded by any means, it was after 1 pm when we were seated. We waited about 20 minutes to speak to our waitress, who brought waters. We ordered our food at the same time we ordered drink so we could speed up the process. We waited well over an hour for our food. My child's mini cheeseburger was basically charred and the bun was burnt it had sat waiting for so long. We never got asked if we wanted drink refills. I had to flag down the waitress to get ketchup, I was tempted to snatch it from the little station myself. We gobbled the food so fast we got hiccups. Good in general was okay, but not great. We sat for 1.5 hours and it took us 6 minutes to eat the food. I scooped up my favorite pecan bars. My friend had never had Cracker Barrel pancakes. Blasphemy!!! Who does that? Any who we ordered a huge breakfast even though it's dinner time. All day breakfast here is the way to go. The food was very eye appealing and gorgeous and tasted even better. This store had the quickest service ever. I don't normally do reviews, but this place was so bad, I can't help myself. Food was not good. For starters, there was a gob of cut-up, barely-cooked bacon on top of my salad that looked like dog vomit. The croutons were stale. Next out was my loaded baked potato without the sour cream that I had asked for ( when I asked for it, I was told they're out). it was topped with the same disgusting bacon as the salad (although it was slightly warmed this time, so no quite as gross). The potato was barely warm and tough, like it had been overcooked, then cooled and probably reheated in a microwave. The food served here is delicious. It is always fresh there is something for everyone even the picky eaters. The prices are good the service is fast. The only thing I have ever disliked is the noise level. But the noise comes because everyone is here enjoying their meal. Kids do fine here. Older generation is fine.
