My wife Cathi and I went to Cracker Barrel this afternoon for a bite to eat. We did get seated right away but we did wait longer than normal. A manager asked if we've been waited on and we told him no. He went to kitchen and not heard from again. I told my wife in 5 mins we can go. Then our girl Lexi showed up and asked us the same question if we've been waited on and we said no. She took the initiative and waited on us and it wasn't even her table. She never skipped a beat. My wife and I watched her and she was keeping up with her customers and doing a kick ass job. I told my wife that Lexi probably runs the place and come to find out she's new. It didn't show, she did a great job, wrote down exactly what we wanted on her notepad and my wife and I couldn't have been more pleased. Anytime we go to that Cracker Barrel, we want Lexi as our waitress. She did make my wife and I laugh today when she accidently refilled my glass of Sprite with water. Don't order takeout from Cracker Barrel. If they are not serving food to you in person, they apparently don't care. I ordered the Smokey southern salmon salad. It was described as a fresh greens salad. This salad did come with a nice side of salmon to place on top of it, but this salad is absolutely ridiculous!! It consisted of huge chunks and strips of iceberg lettuce. Most pieces were much too larger to eat, and there were 2 huge pieces of lettuce core. In addition, there were 3 pieces of poorly cut cucumber, a few tomatoes, and an egg that wasn't even cut but looked ripped in half. It should have come with croutons- and there were none. I double checked my order, and I did not ask to remove any items. I'm afraid to even eat it. With the way it looks, I wonder if the produce was even washed!! read more

I came here with my daughter to use my gift card. I got for Mother's Day and there was a 15 minute wait on the cinnamon rolls not only did they go above and beyond because it was taking so long. Food was good but these lazy young ladies need to actually do something rather than stand on the fireplace the entire time. My husband and I have been here for an hour and they have not moved. The one girl in the purple sweater even had a waitress bring her a tablet that was on the checker table because she's too lazy to get down and take two steps to grab it herself. This is absolutely unprofessional. The entire time I've watched the older waitresses busting their humps getting things done. If you are cold, move around. You don't think your customers are cold? My son has never been here. The atmosphere is casual and kitschy. Love all the stuff on the wall. The waiter was quick and friendly. I got fried chicken and kiddo got tenders. We even ordered beignets as an appetizer. Also requested a to-go box as we ordered. So here is the negative: food came out really slowly. We weren't in a big hurry, but it took a long time. This was my third disappointing visit to this particular CB. My wife ordered the Southern Chicken which was not edible. Each piece of chicken was dry and overcooked. Her baked potato had clearly been in the microwave too long. I had the herb roasted chicken. It was tolerable. It appeared as though the herb sauce was slopped on top before bringing it to the table. The mashed potatoes were grey in color. The cornbread was cold. It was the first time I witnessed soft butter unable to melt. I give kudos to our waiter. He served us well even though we were not satisfied and stopped elsewhere for food. By the way, rather than make a scene, we paid our $61.00 bill and gave a generous tip. We did make our displeasure known to the individual who checked us out. The bottom line is that we will not be going back to this CB. Clearly the kitchen staff needs more training. read more

First time at a Cracker Barrel in a long time. We were seated promptly on a Saturday morning and had quick service. The hostess and server were both friendly. I got the biscuits and gravy with bacon and biscuit beignets. The biscuits were soft and fresh and the gravy had great flavor but it came out not the hottest temperature, I would have liked it a little warmer (like it probably sat in the back a little before being served). The Beignets were also good but I would not call them beignets. A traditional one is very light and airy and these were extremely dense. Still good but not what they should be called. read more

Cracker Barrel is a regular for us! My husband loves their pancakes and rainbow trout. I have a few favorites--roast beef, catfish, ham, and the chef's salad. I've had the shrimp, steak tips, and chicken tenders meal as well. I thought the chicken tenders were a little dry--more like breaded chicken Jerry. I may have gotten the bad pieces. Latrese is our favorite waitress! Regardless of the server, though, we always get good service, but disclaimer--we never go on Sunday! Way too crowded for my comfort. I have always been able to count on the beef pot roast dinner, but this time it was different as well as the green beans. I don't know if the meat had an odd seasoning on it or what but it was weird tasting and difficult to eat. Green beans had no bacon or meat in them like they normally have. Food looked and smelled good. Service with Paige was good, no issues there. Just makes me think they are cutting corners or using different food to feed us. Hubby had catfish dinner with their cheese potatoes and he said that was all very good. Rather disappointing with the pot roast, but will try something else there another time. How about hiring servers that actually work. 3 women standing in the doorway of kitchen just staring at us. 5 people came in after us and we're already eating. No server came to serve us at all. Nothing, to drink, NOTHING. I tried to get 5 servers to get someone to our area, but they just walked right past us. The place was not even that busy and they were quite overstaffed. No reason for it. I told the 3 women just standing there tacking and laughing it up about my experience. While these women were laughing it up, the poor girl Leah was ringing up guests with a rather long line and none of these women helped on a register. 30 minutes without anyone taking our order is just inexcusable. My last 2 visits have been just as bad. I think I am done with Cracker Barrel now. It must be under new management, because it is horrible. They had the best server in Battle Creek named Tony and she is no longer there. I went to Denny's and had an orange juice in my hand within 3 minutes. And my breakfast order taken. read more

My husband and I both ordered the Country Fried Pork Chops with two sides at $15 each. These pork chops must have been pre-fried before being dipped in batter and deep fried. They were like Jerry, and the batter was way overdone and almost an inch thick. Our sides were cold. I told our server they were way overcooked, but all she offered was to have them remake the order. We arrived at 7:30 and were one of maybe four tables in the dining room. There seemed to be plenty of staff assisting the other tables. I used to always enjoy these restaurants and most of their breakfast items are good but it seems like they use the cheapest ingredients possible and it shows. I went at lunch and ordered a side salad and cheese curds. The dressing was from a bottle and tasted like it and the cheese curds were blah and tasteless. I don't mind paying more for better quality food. The service was great as usual. The he chairs are the most uncomfortable in the business. They need pads. You can't help but slide forward on them and they are very hard. I couldn't wait to be finished just to get up. It really needs updating. read more

This is the ABSOLUTE WORST Cracker Barrel I have ever been to. We frequent CBs usually when we're are traveling. It was dinner time and this CB was convenient to stop at. I had a table for 1 I was dining alone. It took 10 mins for a waitress to even come to my table to greet me. I ordered right away as I knew what I wanted. It took 15 mins, which for CB is a long time and it wasn't what I ordered I was in a hurry so I just ate it. No one came back to my table to top of my water or anything until the waitress brought the check. For some reason my waitress had gone on break or her shift was finished and nobody came to take her place. I seriously almost left a $10 on the table and walked out. The bathrooms were disgusting and didn't have faucets that worked properly - I'm guessing this is a health code violation. There was toilet paper and glitter all over the floor OUTSIDE of the bathroom. The wait staff including this who checked me out were complete inept with one exception, my 2 server. She could see how bad things were and was sweet and kind to me. I will NEVER set foot in this CB again even if I am starving. The only reason I left 1 star is for my 2nd server. read more

Their retail section sucks!!! I bought the pink heart valentines purse 5 days ago. The snap that holds it together will not stay snapped. I was told they would NOT do an exchange because it was ""'used""'. A purse should last longer than 5 days. My next purses will be vera bradley and NOT a made in china piece of junk!!! Abd i presented the receipt. The dining room manager would have exchanged if he could have but he said retail is different. The dining room manager and our server were great, but the retail manager is very rude and impersonable. She should NOT be working with the public in any way, shape or form!!! Listen. I know it's a chain restaurant (which I try not to review). I know it's still COVID season ( I usually am pretty understanding). I just can't let this one go. I already try to avoid this place. Not this one necessarily, but just Cracker Barrel in general. I think this place and the dates, and the food is bland and overpriced. But that's not why I'm reviewing it today. Now with all that out of the way, down to brass tacks. It's Sunday, 10am, and church attendees are on the prowl for food. Bad timing, I know but still. We stopped at the door and put our name on the list. Approximately 45 minute wait, but we stick around anyway. The left out name and number and they were supposed to call. No call 55 minutes later. I stop back at the door like wtf, and out table is conveniently ready. We went for breakfast, and it's now 11am. We wanted the full breakfast menu. No waitress around. Ended up going to the front desk ourselves to get a couple. Ordered drinks and when they eventually showed up, dirty glasses. Don't bother asking for refills, no waitress again. I'm not real sure on the exact time because I think I passed out a couple times. I estimated that our food showed up 45 minutes later and true to past experiences, just blah food. It really doesn't matter what I ordered. These biscuits I could throw across the room. "Breakfast" at noon ran me $55 with the tip. Again, I'm trying to be understanding but the restaurant is at HALF capacity. Not half the staff. There were plenty of employees wandering around obviously not helping the cooks. Plenty of help in that gift shop though. 55 minute wait to the table, 44 minute wait for the food. Absent waitress. Dirty glasses. Bland overpriced hockey puck biscuits. One star, and I will do everything I can NOT to go back. read more

Cracker Barrel provides some great breakfast food, especially for a hangover. This place does an amazing job at food and service. We've stopped in here a few times after a weekend in Camp Kidwell riddled with poor diet and alcohol. We try not to crowd the place with a table for 20 or more so we break up into smaller tables of 4 or 5. It's typically breakfast time when we arrive here. I typically get the biscuits and gravy with some slices of bacon. They sell this meal (minus the bacon) in the stores now, but it doesn't even come close to how they prepare it at this location. The food is fantastic every time and the constant coffee refills are very helpful, especially when we've slept for a total of 5 hours the entire weekend! There are other options for breakfast in the area, but we always land on Cracker Barrel due to how great the food and service is. This location has a mini gift shop in it too, I'm not sure if other locations have that or not but I thought it was pretty neat to browse through. read more

I went here maybe 3 times. It's not bad at all (hence why I went three times). Really cute store front. Props for selling vinyl record and a cute Dolly Parton quote book. The portions are not big whatsoever. I am more filled from a Grand Slammich then a meal from here, but the food is good. Really good. Try the loaded tater tots. The gravy does not really have flavor and the biscuits I received were beyond hard as a rock. I will still come here, but just not too often. read more
