Perfect biscuits, pancakes for dinner, and tea/sweet tea mix upon request. Sadly this is one of the dry Cracker Barrel locations but there's a platter if you can't decide between fried chicken, dumplings, or meatloaf. This location has all the classic comfort and breakfast classics we were looking for, and of course they were big enough for two meals. I can't remember the last time Cracker Barrel wasn't busy, or appeared to be fully staffed. Nonetheless, the food was comforting as can be, and our waitress T was more pleasant than I'd be with the large Friday crowd. This store had the whole general store waiting area and fireplace coziness in the finish room that you'd expect at every Cracker Barrel, and easy RV access for being so hilly. We'd come back.

    The old country atmosphere.

We came on a Friday of lent which is great because of the vegan and fish options. Our server John was great being very attentive and mindful of our small party. The typical Cracker Barrel old country style was still demonstrated. I had the trout and a peach cobbler which was completely engulfed, which they were fabulous. The pricing for our party of four was actually pretty cheap. Food: Delicious. Service: Awesome. Highly recommend.

Stopped by this location on our way back from the PSU game because it was right off the highway but also further from state college which can have a long wait on game weekend. We arrived on 1PM and were seated after a short 5 minute wait. I ordered the country fried steak, with sides of dumplins and hash brown casserole while the boyfriend had the pancake tacos. We ordered biscuits to start. Food was fresh and came quick. We were in and out in an hour and eventually back on the road. Overall, would definitely stop by this location next time at state college due to having no wait times and also a pretty convenient location. They also have a parking lot and we had no issues finding a spot.

We had early dinner on 7/26, while returning back from Chicago. The store was not crowded but our table was assigned a trainee with no supervision. If it was not to the fact that the food is consistently great quality, i would not give them 2 star review. While the service was delayed, it was the trainee's first day, nobody was supervising his tables, and the table was never really properly set for 6 people. I start by saying that a successful business depends on its frontline workers and as such training and supervision are key metrics to insure the servers are taking care of the customer needs, setting up tables for successful service and that they understand the menu. We sat in a table that had no water, cutlery , had to wait about 20 minutes to get acknowledged and the wait for the food was about 45 in a day that only 1/3 of the floor was on full use. I get the fact restaurant cannot fond staff to work for them. It is important for Management to show appreciation and acknowledge those servers working and performing to standards when taking care of the guest. Training is important but management needs to keep track of what a trainee is doing well, what he missed and insure the person who is in training is set for success. While we were happy to assist the poor waiter who was in his first day of work, I believe management did a poor job in making sure the server was ready for service, not falling behind and informing the table of the delay with the food. Our orders were breakfast for dinner 3 orders of pancakes, eggs, with the exception of my mother in law who wanted the roast beef platter and my brother in law who ordered chicken for him and chicken pot pie for his wife. The food was excellent , unfortunately not the service.

A hot mess of a chicken pie!

We had a terrific lunch here which rates 5 stars. Carryout was another story. We loved eating in our socially distanced space, both enjoying catfish dinners. Mom ordered fried apples and fries as sides. I ordered fried okra and mashed potatoes with gravy. Service was super. We ordered Carryout of pot pie to go after our dine-in experience. We love the chicken pie, especially the perfect golden crispy top crust. When we got home, we peeked and saw a hot mess. So disappointing to see it ruined like that! Also, two ladies in gift shops are charming chatties, blocking the register area. They need to stay focused and be customer-aware.

Food was really good but knife was dirty and not clean service was good it's a nice place

So simple, my favorite CB dinner

"Big wheels keep on turning.. Carry me home to see my kin" I'm driving on Rt 80 heading east. It's getting dark and there are no street lights. I get in the middle of a freaky snowstorm. In April?? I have to settle down and recharge, I look for the nearest Cracker Barrel and I was led here. Yes, they all look the same but when you walk in, it just feels like home. The pop is on the same shelf as the other locations as well in the cooler by the register. Yummy chocolates and candies are proudly on display. I'm seated and they have a special iced tea. I order it as well as fried catfish and grits. Warm biscuits and apple butter are brought to the table. My waitress was friendly and the food tasted good. It's why I keep coming back for more. Why don't we have Cracker Barrel on Long Island again? *Corporate, think about Riverhead!

Our waitress not so much, I'm a server too and my standards are pretty low because I know what the restaurant industry is like, but they were not busy, I saw her refilling other tables coffee and ignoring us, and seemed bothered when I asked for a refill, might go back but if you don't like your job, don't do it

I really wanted to like this restaurant. Their weekend breakfast buffet is small but has a nice…read morevariety of homemade food and is served until noon. We went a few Sundays in the late spring and had a good experience. When Knoebel's opened, the experience went downhill. We drew the line when we went in on a Sunday where large groups were present, and they apparently had no clue on buffet etiquette, or just didn't care. Cleanliness and food safety are huge to me after I got horrible food poisoning at another buffet in the area and spent 4 days in the ICU with it. While the buffet area itself was clean and the food was to temperature, there were many patrons taking dirty plates back up. We notified our server who just looked at us and kind-of shrugged and walked away. My husband approached one of them and said, "Please don't keep taking dirty plates back up to the buffet.". One of them chastised him and told him he was "nuts" and that he was lying that it's not OK to do that. Plates are not at the buffet - the server brings them, and will bring two sets at the beginning, and then will replenish when needed. When we left, we informed another server that it was gross to do that and they're opening themselves up for issues if the health department stopped by, she asked why we didn't say anything. We said that we did but the server didn't seem to care. She yelled "I care!" from behind a door, but that was enough for us to opt to not return until Knoebel's was closed for the year. We suggested that they consider keeping the plates at the buffet area to discourage that. We decided to try again recently. Not only was there a large group there taking their dirty plates back up, but they were also taking dirty utensils up and using them. I was 3/4 through my plate when I saw that and refused to eat any more. My husband again said something to them, and they just pretended as if he didn't hear. We again said something to the server and suggested that they need to put signs up saying to not take dirty plates back up, or again to put plates at the buffet, but I'm fairly confident nothing will be done. There are other reviews out there that bring up questions of cleanliness, which is concerning. Unsure whether we'll try to return or not. At 10 am, much of the hot side of the buffet was empty, and not restocked while we were there, which is another strike.
