We were staying close by and decided to give the pick up option another try. Another big mistake. When we got back to our room with the order, we found that they didn't give us any eating utensils. Fortunately, the hotel had utensils that we used. Whoever is final checking the orders needs to go to some training sessions on how to properly do the job. Leaving out utensils is the highest form of ineptitude. Ineptitude refers to the quality or state of being inept, which means lacking skill or ability. Queen Bee and I visited here to meet some relatives down for vacation. It was busy but no wait to get seated; where they initially put us was kinda tight, so they managed to free up another table and put a two topper next to it (5 diners altogether). I had a recently "returned" item to their menu: the "hamburger steak." I paired it with hash brown casserole and fried okra as my two sides. The meat puck was cooked a bit more rare than the medium that I requested. Garlic sauce atop it was quite tasty and the meat itself had a good char on it. Sides were adequate tho a bit chintzy in portion size. My dear Queen Bee had the so-called "crispy homestyle chicken." Two decent sized boneless breast pieces with collards, mac and cheese as her chintzy portioned sized sides. She let me try a piece of the chicken( it was actually quite good. Mac & cheese was apparently good too, while greens were quite bland. IDK how collard greens can be bland, but bland they were. Meh! Not once did our dear waitress check on us after we received our food: not once! Why? She was too busy flirting with the two old geezer biker dudes at the table across the way from us. So my beverage never got a refill, I couldn't send back my meat puck back for more grill time. That accounts for the three stars: substandard service from a 20-year-old kid fooling around with two 60+ y/o men who should know better. My experience at this Cracker Barrel was, without question, the worst restaurant experience I've had in my 46 years. When my son and I arrived, we politely asked if we could sit at an available table by the window. The hostess told us that table couldn't be used because there wasn't a server assigned to that section and apologized. Within seconds, however, she seated a white family at the exact same table we had just requested. That immediately left me feeling confused and uncomfortable. Unfortunately, things only got worse from there. After waiting about 20 minutes for our food, our server came back to tell us that an item we had ordered wasn't available. By that point we'd already been waiting a long time, making the experience even more frustrating. I spoke with the manager because I felt the way we were treated deserved to be addressed. I wasn't looking for anything unreasonable--I simply wanted someone to take our concerns seriously. Instead, I left feeling like my complaint was dismissed. There was no meaningful attempt to make things right or acknowledge how disappointing the experience had been. I rarely leave negative reviews, and I almost never complain at restaurants. But this visit was so disappointing that I felt other customers should know about it. The main purpose of my note is to praise the service that Nevaeh Fivecoat, at the Brooksville, FL, Store 0357. I stopped for sweet tea during a 3 hour trip, and I also visited the ladies room, that is always immaculate.. As I browsed the gift shop, the festive holiday displays lifted my spirits. I had no intention of making gift purchases, but I could not help myself. Nevaeh greeted Me, and immediately offered assistance, when she noticed me browsing. Her sweet demeanor and countenance was special, especially considering what seemed to be quite young .... Compared to me at least. (I'm 60.) The Managers yelled at our waiter because they are "too busy" to come sort things out like adults when we complained about our Easter dinner potatoes being rock solid and slightly cold the ham was overcooked leading it to be very dry and the green beans were very obviously from cans. My wife isn't a Cracker Barrel fan. When we are on roadtrips, I constantly try to get her to go to them. Well, I convinced her to go to this one on our recent trip through Florida. Unfortunately, the experience did not help my case at all. She got breakfast for dinner. Her pancakes were literally raw while the bacon was burnt to a crisp. I had fried chicken which was actually ok although the breading in some spots was 1/2 inch thick. The mashed potatoes however were like a solid mass and the gravy was like a paste on top. None of it was too appetizing. Our waiter was the only good thing about this stop. He was really busy but still took good care of us. If you're looking for a good biscuit, it's not Cracker Barrel anymore. They are cooked offsite and frozen, then delivered to the restaurant, thawed out and reheated for you. These new flat, hard and dry biscuits are the same experience you can have with frozen grocery store biscuits. My advice is to stay home and cook your own biscuits. read more

The food is always top-notch, especially for a Cracker Barrel and the waitstaff is getting better at delivering everything needed at one time, instead of a meal being delivered in spits and spurts. We've ordered a bit of everything, from breakfast to lunch/dinner (see pics) and desserts and the quality is always high, no complaints from anyone. The bathrooms are about average, but then we do tend to come here on high traffic days. We've been to many, many Cracker Barrel's over the years and this one is a good standard. The location is well off the road, but easy to get to. The parking area is large and well lit with plenty of light. Inside the store was bright and clean, with plenty of seasonal merchandise, including Halloween stuff. We looked around a bit, used the restroom and then were seated. Despite it not being busy service was very slow. Waitress was friendly but not attentive at all. Lemonade was delicious and sour. Getting refills on our drinks were the worst. The bacon and sausage were burnt and looked like they were dog treats. Hash brown casserole was very dry and potato strands were hard, we assume it's been out since mass made hours ago for morning rush. I don't recommend the smokey chicken tenders. The (cold) sauce wasn't tossed with chicken, it was poured in a corner of plate and spread under the hash brown casserole. read more

Let me start by saying I love Cracker Barrel. The service here was horrible. Stopped in at 8 am on a Sunday for breakfast on a road trip. My server PJ only had 4 tables, it took her forever to greet me, I ordered my meal and drink at the same time as I didn't know when she'd be back. She brought my drink but forgot a straw, I have super sensitive teeth. She delivered food and then took the order for another table before bringing my straw which she had the entire time. Brought my food and left the check, my drink was empty at that time, didn't offer refill, I didn't ask either, never came back to check on me I had to flag her down to get a box and a refill. If the place had been busy I would understand but my seat against the glass gave me a clear view and the delays and inattentiveness didn't make sense. read more

The breakfast food is fairly decent. It's not until you get into the lunch and dinner fare that things go downhill. They are consistently understaffed and I've witnessed some of the managers treating employees very badly yelling any degrading them on the floor. I'm not sure if they have an HR department.
