Cracker Barrel hires "gems" like this young lady, who cheered me up with her bright smile and superb customer service. THANK YOU CB!!!!

As a 30 year patron of Cracker Barrel, my family and I have eaten at CBs all over the place. ...literally hundreds of times. As we've moved between states, it's always a disappointment when CB is not nearby. Today was my first visit at this location. What an experience!! Obviously we love CB food because it is top notch.... does the sweet tea and cornbread count too?!! The main purpose of my note is to praise the service that Nevaeh Fivecoat, at the Brooksville, FL, Store 0357. I stopped for sweet tea during a 3 hour trip, and I also visited the ladies room, that is always immaculate.. As I browsed the gift shop, the festive holiday displays lifted my spirits. I had no intention of making gift purchases, but I could not help myself. Nevaeh greeted Me, and immediately offered assistance, when she noticed me browsing. Her sweet demeanor and countenance was special, especially considering what seemed to be quite young .... Compared to me at least. (I'm 60.) In my experience, it is rare to experience kindness and sincere care, that Navaeh provided. As she cheerfully greeted other guests, she walked with me through the gift shop. Before my shopping spree ended, my total was $180. The only item I came for was a $3.00 tea My hope is that her store manager, Jason, and she will be recognized for service I've so rarely enjoyed. You are invited to phone me or write if you have any questions. If you have time... I'd especially be thankful to know that you received this correspondence. With sincere gratitude, Angela Riggs 803-529-8705 1821 Dora Ave., Apt 219 Tavares, FL 32778

Food was absolutely delicious today. I had the grilled chicken sandwich and fries and of course the biscuits are usually always good. Darin, our server was awesome as usual and of course the ambience was great. Had lunch with my lovely neighbor lady.

Jenny! I have NO idea how I got her to not zoom zoom so I could get this picture!

We stepped back, into the innocence of youth, oohing and aahing at the shiny, sparklies that caught our eyes. Walking amongst woolen weaves, jackets and scarves delighted the sense of touch. Merry melodies overhead amidst the chatter of eaters. The Music of Christmas. A bazaar of childhood candies, games and toys. Families split, kids zip away, for they know where to look. To reconvene upon P.A. name call "-Blank- party, your table is ready". There's so much to see. Snow globes to thrill. Candles. Antler lights, hooks and even magnifying glasses. So many swell presents to give. Or to get. It's oh so nice to feel so It's a Wonderful Life-y! Oh! And that's Jenny! She's a jet propelled kind of gal. Pure joy watching her zoom around. Her energy could power all of those toys, and lights, and shiny, sparkly things.

We were taking a break from a dog show nearby and you can't go wrong with the comfort food of Cracker Barrel! The country store has a lot to offer and the warm fire was great addition to our dining experience. Our waitress Skye was spectacular and even got my husband's sense of humor or at least pretended too! My husband thoroughly enjoyed his chicken and dumplings, my daughter had chicken fingers and Mac n cheese, I had chicken fried steak and it was perfect!

Perfection was to follow. In choice of seating, by the window. In service, by way of Tristan. In cuisine, by way of the culinary magic transcribed from menu bits to savory tasty gourmet bites. Ah, that kitchen magic. I've come to love this little tuckaway gem on the 'other' side of the tourist trail. A hole in the wall with a slice of history and a slice of... Fried Green Tomatoes. or Smoked Gouda or Key Lime Pie, if you will. THE most recent thing I've discovered that I love about Green Door, is sharing Green Door. With family. And friends. The tea room itself is a beautiful, eclectic house. Spacious yet cozy, decorated in a delightful hodgepodge of styles that somehow comes together harmoniously. It feels whimsical without tipping into chaos. The kind of place where teacups don't match, and that is precisely the point. Making reservations was pleasantly easy. I emailed on a Sunday for a Wednesday seating and received confirmation by Monday. I was mildly surprised they did not require a credit card deposit, something many tea rooms now request given the labor-intensive preparation and delicate perishables involved. Their trust in the process is refreshing. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. Amiee, the owner and our server, was friendly and engaging, walking us through the tea selections, the promise of unlimited pots, and explaining the offerings that would arrive throughout the experience. We ended up trying five different teas, each pot a small surprise thanks to Amiee's suggestions. I cannot remember all the names, but I can happily say we liked every one of them. One in particular tasted remarkably like banana bread in a cup. Warm, aromatic, perfectly balanced, and thankfully not overly sweet. We were also delighted by the Peach Apricot, bright and cheerful, and really enjoyed the Pomegranate Vanilla Lemur, which had a lovely layered flavor. We began with a creamy mushroom soup, rich and comforting. The scone, served before the tiered tray, was warm, buttery, and quite good, though notably without the traditional Devonshire or clotted cream. Still, it stood proudly on its own. The finger sandwiches were fresh and thoughtfully varied. The bread did not appear homemade, but the selections complemented each filling nicely and everything tasted fresh. The cheese muffin was flavorful, though we both mused that two smaller ones with a slightly moister crumb might have been even better. The sweet tier was satisfying overall. I was initially skeptical about the bread pudding, but the mini chocolate tart and a delicate lemon tart on filo more than made up for it. One of the highlights of the afternoon was chatting with Amiee about the journey of the tea room through the years, including the challenges of navigating the Covid era. I am always impressed by those who pursue a vision in the food industry. It is a difficult road, and places like this exist because of persistence, courage, and a genuine love of hospitality. Another pleasant surprise was the pricing, which is remarkably reasonable compared with the often lofty cost of afternoon tea elsewhere. All in all, The Tilted Teacup offers a warm, charming, and thoughtful tea experience. My friend and I left very pleased, well fed, and with the comforting sense that we had spent the afternoon exactly as it should be spent: with good tea, good conversation, and a table full of small delights. I happily recommend it.
