Honestly unsure why this Cracker Barrel has such bad reviews. We came on a Friday for breakfast so it was busy and we got basic breakfast food, so maybe that is the key for a successful trip but it was great. I don't have a cracker barrel close to me at home so I love a visit when I travel. I had the build your own breakfast with bacon, eggs, loaded hash browns and biscuits and gravy. My girlfriend and I came to Atlanta for her birthday and she just really wanted some Cracker Barrel. We came to this one as it was close to our hotel and let me tell you. We were greeted with the up most hospitality. The server was great and really helped us with our indecisiveness lol. And then the manager (Sean) came and stopped by our table to check on us. He was the best ever. He was really personable and welcomed us Californians with opened arms. He made my girlfriend Birthday so special! The food was great as well. Sometime you can go to a restaurant and the food doesn't mater but the atmosphere of the establishment will keep you coming back for more. Disappointing Experience - Poor Service and Mismanagement On Sunday, July 27, 2025, I attempted to dine at the Cracker Barrel in Fairburn, GA with my family (2 adults and 2 children). At 11:57 AM, I joined the online waitlist and arrived shortly after at 12:05 PM, expecting a smooth check-in process. What followed was anything but. We were told there would be an hour-long wait for food because the staff had just finished their "rush." When I looked around, there were 20-30 open tables, which made no sense. I even took photos to document this. The host continued turning away guests, stating long wait times, yet made no effort to seat anyone despite the availability. When I reminded him that we had already joined the waitlist online, he said that didn't matter and refused to seat us. I asked to speak with a manager. The host told me the manager was "in the kitchen." When the host returned, instead of updating me or offering a solution, he rudely said, "You're in the way" because he wanted to check in other guests. That was the tipping point. In a customer service role, basic courtesy should be the bare minimum. A simple, "Ma'am, would you mind stepping to the side while I assist others?" would have been perfectly acceptable. The situation escalated to the point that my husband had to intervene. Other staff members stepped in and told the host to go to the back--which was telling in itself. I spoke to the manager who confirmed that they would begin seating people "soon" and that the online waitlist is not honored or accurate. He also gave me the corporate number and his name upon request. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience. We came in after church looking for a nice, simple brunch with our children and were instead met with poor communication, rude behavior, and a complete disregard for customer service. Cracker Barrel owes the community better--especially when people are choosing to spend their hard-earned money on dining out. This location has clearly gone downhill, and it shows. Arrived at restaurant and was told there was about a 30min wait. Waited about 20mins to be seated. Was seated at 11:45am. We ordered 10mins after we got there. One of the orders was supposed to include Loaded Hashbrown casserole. Our food did not come out until 1pm. They gave me regular hashbrown casserole instead of the loaded. Waiter never apologized. Instead the reply was "oh, they didn't give you the loaded ones?" And walked away. We finished our food and asked for the check which came pretty quickly. When I reviewed the receipt, your company still tried to charge me for loaded hash brown casserole. I asked that he revise the receipt which took another 15mins to complete. We cannot recommend this particular restaurant as everyone around us, including two tables surrounding us ordered after we did but got their food long before we did. Came for nostalgia because there aren't very many in the Pacific Northwest and got a full serving of disappointment. The server was nice but forgot about us multiple times and did not take our food order for 20 minutes. Had there been a full restaurant, I would understand. However, the number of employees outnumbered the patrons who dared venture to take part in this catastrophe. It was a sight to behold. A vacant array of dirty tables, staff arguing amongst themselves, and a missing management staff. To say the least, the empty parking lot should have given an indicator of what was to come. Once the food was received (a total of 40 minutes from order to table), the pancakes and bacon were undercooked, the Hashbrown casserole Shepards pie looked like roadkill masquerading as something edible. We stopped in for lunch on our way home to Tennessee. The hostess told us right away that the kitchen was behind by 30 minutes and if we still wanted to be seated to please be patient. We told her we weren't in a hurry and would do that. She sat us and the server, Alva E, came right over and took our drink order. My husband said that I wanted a lot of ice in my tea and she really hooked me up! We split the Trout with turnips and green beans. We waited patiently but it came out really quickly and definitely not the 30 minute wait we were expecting. The food was piping hot and DELICIOUS!! We can't say enough about Alva. She was awesome. If we lived around here and were regulars we'd request her table every time. Our only complaint is that it was FREEZING in there. People had coats on, and it was short sleeves and sandals weather outside. We would definitely eat here again! read more

We usually have a wonderful experience at all Cracker Barrel's where we are. This time it was terrible. Took forever to get our food and I had to keep asking the server, for water, for tartar, sauce, for my fish, for our bread and to get our check and a to go box. The person who actually brought me these things was not even my server. I told a person that check me out about the problem and she said she was very sorry and that other people had said similar things. This location needs to get his act together. read more

The reason I gave 3 stars is because the dining room was very cold and the fireplace not burning...though 5 bundles of wood were on the hearth. I ordered the Country Fried Steak, it was a bit overcooked and only had a little white gravy on it. I later overheard from another table that they were out of white gravy. They were also out of fried apple. That was a red flag, along with a mostly empty dining room on a Friday night . Food was acceptable, for a mom and pops place. Our server was a young man that didn't seem to know how to "work for the tips." I would highly suggest to management to retrain their servers, I mean have them shadow (or be shadowed) by an experienced server. This is a $$ restaurant, servers should be taking home at least $100 in tips. (especially if tips are going to be exempt from taxes) And a little motivation goes a long way for a young work force. Worst Cracker Barrel I have ever dined at. It took well over an hour to get our food after ordering. Food came out in three separate batches spaced out over 20-30 minutes. The first group was well done eating before the last group even got our food. Server mixed up the food orders, with several people receiving the wrong sides. After waiting 30 minutes we asked about the delay and were informed the kitchen was down a cook, and it certainly showed. While waiting we watched another customer get up and leave after he waited over 20 minutes for his food. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

Women in the store section were pleasant. Restaurant side staffed with total incompetents who do not care if you are there or not. Had a party of 8 in front of me, party of one. It took me hounding and twenty minutes later for the man to come over and bark at the party of 8 he needed to clean a table (the place was NOT busy why wasn't it clean already?) He completely glossed over asking me how many in my party (I guess he cannot count?) and I left. Along with the OTHER party of one behind me. He was smart and left 15 minutes before me. Tried this Cracker Barrel again. I ordered an egg sandwich,over medium, hash brown casserole with bacon and this is what I got. It was around 15 mins till I was seated and about 40 mins until I got my food. The manager said they could recook it but at this point I had been there over an hour. The food was pretty good! It's not the most amazing you've ever had but it's pretty solid southern food and it's consistently pretty good for the price point! I actually like the little shop they have on your way in to the restaurant too. It has a really cool vibe. I would say that most of the time the service is also pretty good although it can be a bit slow sometimes. Don't come here expecting to whip in and out like the flash. Be prepared to eat a good southern meal and just enjoy your time with family or friends. I had the breakfast sandwich and my wife had an old fashioned breakfast plate with all the fixings. I think it was called Grandpa's Breakfast! We both had a pretty good time and we will be back! My family, party of 4, visited a few weeks ago for a mid-day brunch. There were less than a dozen tables with patrons there. There seemed to be even fewer servers...maybe 3 or 4. Service was very slow, 40 minutes from the time we ordered food until we got it, and the food I ordered was luke warm (biscuits and gravy with side of bacon). I asked the server to please warm up the gravy a little for me. I think she simply took it to the back and brought another bowl of it - not warm in the slightest. **I am typing this as my husband and I are making our way back home. This experience was not even 30 minutes ago. Was in town, visiting family in Senoia. On our drive home (my husband and I), I had been craving a good ole corn muffin SPECIFICALLY from Cracker Barrel. Conveniently, there was one right before merging on to I-85N, traffic was looking insane so of course we needed a place to wait out until traffic died down. Upon first glance, the parking lot was eerily empty for 6 o'clock on a Tuesday night. Once in and seated at a table, there was an entire empty section. We were seated right away, just my husband and I, a party of 2. Sat down and ordered our drinks, myself a water and for my husband a Dr. Pepper. We also placed an order for onion petals as well. We received our drinks pretty promptly with our appetizer to follow. The appetizer was missing the sauce that it mentions is included on the menu. We asked our waitress and she said she would get that out to us as soon as possible. That "as soon as possible" was maybe, 15 minutes? For a sauce. In addition, 2 tables were seated after this AND received their drinks and food. At this point, we were both frustrated and hungry. To tie us over, we asked our waitress to bring out an assortment of bread, seeing as this was the main reason for our (most my) visit today. That was probably the quickest food item we received. However, we asked for biscuits and corn bread...not rocks...they were warmish, more than likely from sitting under the height lamp for a few seconds prior to being brought out and so hard you couldn't hardly bite into them. Not to mention, there was never an offer for refills on drinks. Then, about 30 minutes after that, our food comes out. I ordered the pot roast with mashed potatoes and fried apples, my husband ordered the country fried shrimp with double bacon mac. Pot roast was cold, potatoes were cold, shrimp was cold, the bacon on his mac was not cooked. On the plus side, my fried apples were hot! And I did eat those. :) I did end up asking for the manager and expressing the disappointment with how our meal had been served to us. Our meal in its entirety was "on the house" and we even had the option to take the food home with us. We declined in which the manager also offered us a dessert, on them as well. We declined that as well, not as a rude gesture, just in the fact that we had a long way to go to get home. Overall, I've never been so displeased with a Cracker Barrel. What went well was Lauren! I had just walked out of CB in Morrow after HORRIBLE customer service experience and when I say Lauren was beautiful inside and out she was nothing short of amazing! Imagine my.surprise to find out she was new! More seasoned servers could learn from Lauren! My husband and I stopped coming to this location due to horrible service and long wait times. After today we will definitely be back! Lauren's service was so good I asked for the manager and Lindy didn't disappoint! She was equally welcoming and even introduced us to the cook Sonda who made the best chicken I've had in a while! Mind you I never order chicken because I feel I can get it anywhere but today everyone was awesome! No complaints and I'm not easy to please! 10/10 all around! Thank you all for today because I needed my faith restored in CB and you did that for me Lauren! Please Lindy give our girl more tables so she can spread her joy especially during these holidays when we need cheer and not chaos. We visited Cracker Barrel on Thanksgiving Day (first experienc), so naturally, the place was packed, and chaos was expected. While we were prepared for the wait, some aspects of the experience left much to be desired. After standing in line for almost an hour, we were finally seated, but it took another 30 minutes for someone to take our order. When we politely informed a gentleman--who appeared to be a manager--that we were ready to order, his sarcastic response of "they're coming, they're coming" in an annoyed tone felt unprofessional and uncalled for. Thankfully, a kind waitress Alva came to our rescue, apologizing sincerely and empathizing with our long wait. Her attitude made a big difference, and without her, this could have been a 1-star experience. Alva has amazing common sense that are not so common these days. The food and the atmosphere were good, and it seems like they attract great customers. We're willing to give this place another try on a less hectic day to see if things improve. read more

After a long flight we wanted to place a mobile order but the app was glitching so we tried calling the store Twice but no answer. We arrived around 7pm and decided to go inside to place the to go order. We shopped around while waiting for our food. An hour later the young lady came to tell me they were out of shrimp so i ask for chicken fried chicken like my husband ordered. At 8:15 we ran across the highway and got food from TWO other restaurants because we hadn't eaten since before our flight. We got back to Cracker Barrel at 8:40pm and you guessed it, the food still was not ready! For $70 we should have ask for a refund and cancelled the order but they were closing at 9pm so we opted to wait. The order came out and we were ready to go! But the true disappointment came when we got ready to dig in (see pictures)! No biscuits no cornbread, my husband did not get Chicken fried chicken and no gravy (he got over fried chicken) i ended up getting shrimp after all but no cocktail sauce. The pinto beans were so dry i thought they were refried beans, the sweet baby carrots were dry, the dumplings had no juice on them and we ended up with fries that we didn't order.,, 3 hours of waiting only to be served what looked like it was scraped off someone's plate. read more

Order was not ready when it was supposed to be. It took an additional 20 minutes. Asked for honey and they did not have any. It was not until I asked for extra honey that I was told they were out. They did fill up some to go containers then and gave to me. The tea i asked for was not available so I settled for another flavor. Since you asked for my phone number when I placed the order I would have assumed if there were problems with anything on the order you would have called or even emailed but I did not get either. Also I aded a to go item for $5 that your system prompted me to do. This was not available as well. I was offered a substitution of chicken dishes which I did not want. I asked for a refund but was told I could not refund the item I placed online. I then asked could I have something to show I did not get my add on $5 meal. A manager finally gave me printout showing that he did refund me. Once again if the $5 addon meal was not available how come I had to wait an additional 20 minutes to find this out. I am sure when they received this order they knew this and could have notified me by phone call or email. If the $5 add on meals are not available you should not be prompting them to be added on. read more

The bad. We sat for awhile. Our waitress never came over. Another male waiter asked us if anyone had come by. We said no and he said "let me help you." We were so appreciative of his initiative and excellent work ethics. He got our drink order and took our order. We got our foot but one item was not acceptable. He was the only one that came by to see how things were. Our waitress just came by to drop off the check. Never asked us if everything was ok. We saw another couple leave because they had been ignored. I really recommend to the manager that staff should not be socializing so much with each other if they want a good tip.
