Fairburn is really stepping up with the dining options! I stopped by Kiss My Gritz for a late breakfast and was pleasantly surprised with the experience. It was super busy when I arrived, but I was seated quickly. The restaurant was clean and bright which made for a great dining experience. The servers were nice and didn't make me feel rushed to order or eat despite how busy they were. I got a breakfast plate which as really tasty and worth the price. I had to knock a star off for the wait times. The restaurant was busy and they may have been understaffed, but it's worth mentioning that I waited a bit for service and food. I wasn't in a hurry so I didn't mind. I definitely will be returning the next time I'm in the area. read more

My go to breakfast meal is always an omelette and this place was the closest restaurant at the time. Pleasantly surprised, Black owned and the food was not bad at all. My only complaint was the veggies on the omelette were not cooked. Would have preferred them to be sautéed a little. I started off with a watermelon lemon drop and beignets. Then I ordered the salmon and grits with a side of eggs. Everything was so delicious. Karesha, our server was amazing. I would love to give this establishment a good rating, unfortunately I can not. We waited over an hour for our food, when it arrived it was cold. The took it to the back, instead of fixing it again., they warmed it up. I could tell because the same indentations where I initially tasted the food was there. Second the food was just average. As we entered the restaurant we were greeted and informed it will be a 5 minute wait (it looked like it was going to be a much longer wait, however it wasn't). We were seated and ordered (see photos below). The food was delicious. The fish and grits were perfectly seasoned and crunchy in all the right places. The buttermilk biscuit was soft. The brazed oxtail was tender, light, sweet and savory. The Mac and cheese was layered in its taste and texture. The collard greens were decent. The kids food was good as well. The kids enjoyed it. My son said the chicken sausage was bussin' (this means good). The only thing I didn't care much for was the lack of service; we had to wait for water refill for a good amount of time and our food was brought out to the table but we still didn't have utensils. Also pricing was more than expected for the amount. We had to ask for utensils. It's always good to see a new spot in Fairburn that does have really good food. I went after church so I expected a crowd which I was met with however they moved fairly quick. The hostess was pleasant. My server was kind but not attentive. I asked for water, didn't get it and requested no powder sugar on the waffle, which I did get. Aside of that the food was great! I ordered chicken and waffles and a side of gritz. The portions were smaller than I expected but the quality was good. I will be back to try other things on the menu. read more

My experience on Monday May 25th was horrible!!! The week prior was Excellent!! The reason for the downfall was because of our waitress named Ashley! A couple before us was seated and another group was seated after the couple that was seated before us. The issue started when the Group of the folks that were seated were waited on immediately and also the couple were attended to by their waitress also but it took Ashley 15 minutes to take our order but even with that issue I remained calm. It wasn't until the folks received their order(who came in 20 minutes AFTER us) and the the couple who were before us received their order that made me ask were is our food? I watch our waitress stand and talked to another party of people for 15 minutes while she was LITERALLY next to us and walked away until I asked were was our food? She didn't answer and member of management brought our food after my look of frustration. The sad part of this whole situation is the waitress still received an 18% gratuity because it included in the bill!! I could have argued that she was not worth the tip because there are SOME people who work in restaurants know because tips are included, there is no need to do what is required as a server. read more
