You gotta stop at Cracker Barrel on a road trip! My fiancé and I stopped here for some grub on our journey. At around 1230pm on a Friday there was no wait at all! We started with cheesey curds that were very delicious and crisp. For my entree I had the classic chicken sandwich and it was very good. I asked for crispy fries and they were perfect! My fiancé ordered steak and eggs. He said his steak was a little tough but not terrible. He said he wished it was a little more tender. He really enjoyed the hashbrown casserole saying it was the best he's had out of all the Cracker Barrel's we've been to. The biscuits were also really good! Very soft and not dry. This review is long overdue, but I still felt it was important to share our experience. About 2-3 months ago, a group of approximately 12 coworkers met for a leadership meeting and decided to have breakfast at this Cracker Barrel location. We called ahead to request seating and were told they had plenty of room for our group. When we arrived, however, we were informed that we could not be seated until everyone in our party had arrived. Despite there being many open tables, we waited nearly 40 minutes while two people from our group were still on their way. We politely asked if we could be seated since there was ample space available, but the staff made a big issue of it and had to ask the manager for permission. Eventually, they allowed us to sit. Ironically, the last two people never showed up. Unfortunately, the service only got worse from there. Our waitress, who appeared to be around 55-60 years old, was incredibly rude throughout the entire meal. She treated us as though we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers. When serving coffee, she practically dropped the cups on the table and pushed them across to those seated on the opposite side. She seemed annoyed by simple requests such as hot sauce, ketchup, or minor modifications to our orders. Several meals were delivered incorrectly, and instead of apologizing, she insisted that we had given her the wrong orders. We are a church leadership group, and we did everything we could to remain patient and respectful. Perhaps she was having a difficult day, but no customer should be treated the way we were. This experience was especially disappointing because we have always enjoyed and respected Cracker Barrel. Sadly, this particular location completely changed our opinion. When our group met again, we chose Americana instead, where both the food and the service were outstanding. Cracker Barrel leadership, I sincerely hope you take the time to visit this location and evaluate the customer service being provided. This restaurant has the potential to be great, but our experience fell far short of the hospitality your brand is known for. read more

It was a big group of us and the waiter was extremely patient with us. We had Justin as our waiter. We were arriving after spending 7 hours at six flags without eating or drinking. We were so thirsty and ordered a million waters. The food came out quickly and was cheap. Justin refilled our bread because we were starving and was great about our two birthdays. As for the food, it was good. Some of my food wasn't hot but it might have been waiting for the group meals. The store is awesome and the prices are fantastic. We went for lunch yesterday, ap a bus trip had just left. The restaurant was pretty empty, when we were ordering the waitress said that they didn't have mashed potatoes. So I asked for a baked potato with my meal. Meatloaf and chicken. We waited quite a long time for our meals to come out. As she put my plate down she informed me that they didn't have baked potatoes either. I asked to change my order to a burger. I swear sh looked mortified that I would ask, so I said to just bring fries. We decided to come here for a quick dinner and were immediately seated after we checked in. We ordered the following: Daughter ordered the Grilled Catfish, which has two spicy grilled farm raised catfish fillets. She usually orders this and likes it a lot. She also got 2 sides which were mac and cheese and carrots. Hubs got the Garden Scramble, which has roasted mushrooms, spinach, red peppers and onions and melted pepper Jack cheese served over three scrambled eggs. He said that this was better than expected. He got two sides with this but his sides were limited, so that was a disappointment. The only two sides he was allowed to get were fried cinnamon apples and hash brown casserole. The sides tasted like they were made in the morning. It was a disappointment. Lastly, I ordered the Louisiana Shrimp Skillet, which has grilled shrimp in a zesty Creole sauce with seasoned rice and grilled parmesan bread. This was a lot better than expected. Usually, chains serve seafood that are overcooked but this was just right. I also got two sides which were dumplings and turnip greens. The dumplings were a disappointment. I think I got the bottom of the pot. Turnip greens were ok, though. There was only one server for the whole place that night, so it was a little difficult flagging him down. Cracker Barrel is always fun to go to for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The service at this location is always good and the ambiance is exactly what you'd expect from a Cracker Barrel. There is the awesome music, the beautiful shop setting with all the nice goodies from old fashioned style candies, toys, clothes, etc. It is always fun going to here to get a good meal and have a fun time shopping in the store. The wait time is never horrible either as they tend to get us seated as soon as possible. Whenever you're near here, go to here to get a good meal as its one of the better locations to visit. read more

Terrible!!! First time coming here. We put our name on waitlist online and it said 10 minutes wait but we still drove 15 mins away to get here so by the time we got there our table is set up but nope we still had to wait even though there was also a LOOOOT of seating open. Our server took soo long to come and order our drinks I had to call a different server to ask where our server was since a group got seated after 15 mins of us being sat and got attended by their server right away. Our main entrees arrived before our biscuits so we werent munching on anything while we were waiting on them. read more

Eight of went to cracker barrel in hamilton nj and we were very dis appointed they advertised a summer special but when we got there they said they dont have it any more. It was supposed to go to this Sunday which was August 16. So some of us ordered pot roast which was bad one persons dish was good but the rest of in was over cooked and the meat was hard and burned. Service sucked, our waitress took about 20 min to get our drink order. When she took our order I asked for seltzer/soda water & she said they didn't have that. I kindly asked that she give me seltzer from the fountain soda but instead of asking someone she said no. I assume she didn't understand how the fountain sodas worked. I settled on water and about another 20 min later is when we got our food. The food was good as expected. We ordered cheese curds but they came out after our meal. They were delicious so we didn't mind. The managers frequented our table to ask how we were which was nice. I love the shop & the games available while we wait. Staffing was terrible, literally saw at least 10 people, had them walk past and each one would look at us and keep walking or say one second..that turned into us just waiting for an extra 20 minutes just for a to go box. Its been a year since we last visited this CB. We stopped because service was terrible, we were tired of waiting up to an hour to be served after ordering. One half hour was typical. Today service (about 9:30 am) was excellent the server did a great job. I don't remember her name but thank you. I ordered the NY steak and eggs for $19.99. It was a big mistake, the steak was mostly gristle, not fat but un-chewable gristle. I left most of it, didn't bring it home for the dog. Cracker Barrel is what it is... an old timey purveyor of high cholesterol comfort food nestled inside a country store where Pez dispensers of every Apostle are readily available for purchase. A restaurant that has a following like that I'm simply not going to quibble with. With one giant exception... you can't get an omelette. They simply won't make it. You can get your yolks fried, scrambled, sunny side up or over easy but they refuse to embrace any preparation technique that might suggest progress. When you compete for business in the diner capitol of the world, you're almost begging customers to ignore you and to seek more accommodating, aluminum cladded climes. Well, I'm not going to kick a joint when they're down but is that premeditated menu exclusion even possible in this day and age. So, five stars for a place that I kinda like and out of pure optimism I'll offer a small prayer to my Pez dispensing Peter. Get it together guys. Amen. read more

Came here on Saturday night 06/29/24. I was notified by the waiter that it would be a wait. He brought us biscuits and kept our drinks full. Many of the patrons waited well over a hour. Most had walked out. We continued to wait. The waiter notified us the cooks walked out and the manager was back there cooking. The food came out with no issues. And I'm actually glad I waited. Not "its been sitting we just forgot about your order" food. Steak was warm like literally out the microwave warm... smh... Went for dinner on a sleepy Monday. It appeared they were only seating tables in the center section by the fireplace, but they literally took us to a dirty table and we had to stand and wait while the hostess grabbed a damp rag to wipe the crumbs away. There were maybe 4 tables with people there eating, and literally every other table was full of dirty dishes. That should have been the cue to walk out. There were 3 servers on and they were all allergic to carrying a single dirty dish back to the kitchen. Also, the half assed wipe down for our table was completely inadequate. I understand this is a folksy chain restaurant, but using a basic sanitizer and wiping down tables properly is code. The hostess lethargically wiping the crumbs away from a single table was ridiculous. The servers that were on duty were not busy and could be seen chatting away. I spent years working in restaurants and I am very sympathetic to what the job is like but they all needed to be fired. Zero excuses for that type of laziness. On to the food....I had the campfire chicken that is served in tinfoil. Meals were brought out half way through the onion petals appetizer and before I even had a bite of my salad. The chicken meal was bland as could be. There were 2 unseasoned potatoes that were hard as a rock. The chicken was moist considering there was an inch of broth in the packet, but it had no flavor. The corn on the cob was tough and felt like biting the eraser off of the back of a #2 pencil. The biscuits that were supposed to come with it were not delivered with the food until I asked for them near the end of the meal. I got a meatloaf meal to go because most of the chicken went uneaten. Instead if nice slices of meat, it looked like whatever broken crumbs of meat they found and stuffed in the container. We went on a Sat night recently and we waited an hour for our food. They only had maybe 4 waiters running around but the place was not busy. They had a very old man as their host and didn't seem like he was too with it. Finally we got to order and my partners meal they said, was out, then they said 25 mins. I love Cracker Barrel. Every time we go in the road we plot out where the Cracker Barrel locations are. Now, if you you are looking for fine cuisine, then is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for comfort food then this is the place for you. In my experience, the service at Cracker Barrel is not consistent. It all depends on who you get as a waiter. I have had good experiences and not so good experiences. Nonetheless, I go there for comfort food and for me and my family, we don't have one close to us so it is a bit of a novelty every time we visit . As far as food, I enjoy their French toast, which I believe is made from a sour dough bread. It is different from any other French toast that you will find at your local diner. For breakfast, you will be treated to warm buttermilk biscuits. Some the sides for breakfast include fried apples and hash brown casserole. I always select a sampler breakfast dish to try a bit of everything. It comes with eggs, bacon, country ham, and sausage. This is good for the individual like me who can't make up their mind about what to have. read more

Stopped here on our way to Delaware from NY and what I wouldn't do to have one closer to us! Our server was so sweet, she really made it enjoyable. She refilled our homemade iced tea/ lemonades and bunch of times, they were SO GOOD. I had the chicken and dumplin's lunch special. It was a great portion and came with a side. Would definitely have again! My husband has some giant breakfast with stuffed pancakes which I did get to try and it was really good, would also order again. We shared a biscuit and sausage gravy and it's the best and something I can't/don't make myself at home. The Robbinsville, NJ "Cracker Barrel". Oh boy, I can say with certainty that out of all the Cracker Barrel's that I have been to, this has been by far the worst one. The food we ordered (which was 2 grandma samplers, the fried catfish and the momma's sampler) , was to say the least, not fresh at all. Everything felt old as if the oil that was used to cook the food had not been changed or the food itself was days old. We were at a place called the "Cracker Barrel" but it sure did not feel like that heart warming experience you have when you come to Cracker Barrel. Robbinsville I would like to share my experience last night, 8/31/25 at 8:30pm. This was my first time dining at Cracker Barrel. My family of 5ppl was told at 30 min wait and was seated 45 mins later, the dining room was completely empty with available tables. After I was sat I rushed to place my kids order in first. My server, Xavier came back to take my order a few minutes later, we originally wanted the weekend special of the honey fried chicken and the southern fried chicken, Xavier had informed us that the kitchen was out of those menu items. We ended up ordering the fried catfish w/ okra, braised beef stew, and the Louisiana shrimp skillet w/ okra dishes. My kids meal came out shortly after we ordered. After my kids were done with their meals Xavier comes to tell us the rest of our three meals "are almost done and will be out shortly". 10 mins after that he comes to inform us that "I got the order for the shrimp and the stew, what was the third order again? The order was cut off" he was not direct and we went back and forth about what he was trying to tell us at the ended of the convo I had to ask him if my order for the catfish was ever put in and it was not. He takes the catfish order again and comes back to tell me that the kitchen was out of the catfish. So I kindly asked him to bring out the other two and there was no need to order my dish 45 mins later. Not even 5 minutes later Jeff (tall, skinny and bald) the manager comes to the table to ask what else they can bring out because the beef stew was also out. At this point we are had no food for over an hour and the grilled shrimp hasn't even hit the table. Shortly after Jeff left the grilled shrimp had arrived with a side of apples, when we had originally asked for fried okra. We discovered again the kitchen was out of okra an house later. I pulled Jeff aside to have a conversation away from my family and kids, he was apologetic and comp the bill but had no empathy and compassion for the poor service we had experienced. The server and manager on duty had lack of communication and professionalism, the server tried to cover himself and beat around a bush when he could have been honest that out order was never put in. As the manager, he should have taken the dishes off the menu or at least communicated that additional dishes were sold out. My family and I went back and forth with both the manager and server of promised foods and ended up not getting served, as well as get a refill on our beverages. This was the worst experience I have ever had. I truly hope this poor service will be addressed and reviewed with the individuals. read more

I'm not gonna lie, after hearing so much about the Cracker Barrel, I think I'm a fan. Stopped here for an impromptu brunch on a road trip, was immediately seated. This location is understaffed so expect a bit of a wait, but the staff is super friendly nonetheless! Ordered an old timer breakfast with fried apples. Family ordered the chicken fried chicken and French toast. My breakfast hit the spot. Classic American fare with scrambled eggs and tender biscuits. Opted for turkey sausage but made the sausage, eggs, and biscuit into a mini sandwich so I think I won? The fried chicken was juicy and crispy and I think I'm one of the rare few who enjoyed a not too sweet French toast. I am very disappointed in the the food I got. I placed a pick up order on uber and as soon i get my food I noticed that did not include silverware, and have to go back for it. The mashed potatoes is dry and completely tasteless, adding salt and pepper won't hurt anyone. The rice I got is also dry and seems to be undercook, seemed to be from days ago. The store seemed to be busy and clean. I would think twice before ordering again from this particular location. read more

Just visited one of our favorite for meatloaf dinner. I was wondering why so many people outside and people walking around in their gift shop. Well come to find out when we went up to the hostess she said, there's a 25 minute wait we have no tables. I'm looking in the dining area and saw many empty tables. I said I'm looking in your dining area and you have many empty tables so what's up. She asked for my name if I wish to wait. I said to her so you have many empty tables but is the problem you have no service. She replied yes that it and do you want to wait I said no thanks bye. No servers hmmmm. This is the first ever I heard this. But what pissed me off is that this young girl is being told obviously by management to say we have no tables when the truth is we have no servers. First indoor dining in a year and have to say it was disappointing at best. The good? -We didn't have any wait for a table at 10 am on a Saturday. -COVID protocols seemed decent: masks worn, some tables still blocked off for distancing, tables cleaned. -the tchotchke store in the front had some handy Easter gifts for when I see my nephew next week and the staff was helpful and friendly there The bad? -my girlfriend ordered an iced latte as soon as we sat down. Did she ever get it? Of course not! The machine was "being cleaned" but we were assured it would be ready soon. Turns out, it wasn't. At the very end of the meal, she was given one cup of their mediocre hot coffee and there was no charge for that. -water? Each diner apparently has to ask for this specifically and individually. She asked for water and I assumed I'd get a glass too. Nope. Additionally, the tap water tastes awful here. Not sure if it's due to the infamous Trenton water works or what. -while I don't mind being left alone to a point, we weren't dining in France. The server could've been more attentive. My coffee was never topped up and wouldn't have been refilled had I not asked. Refills are free, this is the south after all. -finally, Nikki ordered scrambled eggs. What ended up coming out? Extra runny, sunny side up. My "buttermilk" pancakes were decent. I chose not to top them with any of their "100 percent pure syrup" because it's only 55% actual maple syrup, cut down with 45% cane syrup. They used 100% maple back in the day, but no more. The bacon was also pretty good and the turkey sausage patty was edible. Not as good as other turkey sausage from say turning point. Biscuits and gravy were ordered on the side. Biscuits were good, I didn't try the gravy. It looked leathery. Perhaps that's normal? Not my area of expertise. Nikki got some sort of platter that also had pancakes and hash browns to go with that incorrectly made eggs. She enjoyed it. Total bill was $31 before tip. Perhaps it's worth a trip to Cracker Barrel one time if you're a yankee and wish to pretend you're at a southern roadhouse. You want to experience some biscuits and gravy, fried catfish, chicken fried steak etc. all under one roof, then proceed to waste money on kitschy tchotchkes and Merle Haggard LP's on vinyl after your meal. Otherwise, check out a local diner. We're in the land of diners after all. The coffee at those may not be any better than Cracker Barrel, but you'll probably get it in a timely manner with refills. As an added bonus, they will know how to cook eggs as ordered. P.S. check the dates if you buy any candy from the store. I contemplated buying some buckeyes and they were expired! read more
