    Raisin bread French toast

I got the raisin bread French toast and it was delicious. Super friendly and efficient waitress. Inexpensive, friendly and great food. Small place but it is an eat-in dine.

Where is my flipping food! It's been an hour and a half and the restaurant is empty. I guess if you are a regular you get your food first. Do you seriously cook one egg at a time? French toast and eggs don't take 90 mins to cook. New cook needed. Someone who can multitask at least. About to leave. This is ridiculous.

This is a great small town diner. Good food, fast and inexpensive. This is a family run place and the also have an adjacent ice cream shop. I had the meat lovers breakfast and it was still well under $10 with a drink. The service is home town friendly. They may strike up a conversation just to chit-chat. Great people and many regulars. I recommend you try to become one. Try the pork roll. It's a Jersey thing.

    Ham, eggs and home fries!

Worth the stop for breakfast! While food is not fancy or exceptional Tootie's is a good place for a basic meal. I ordered the 2 eggs, ham, that came with home fries and choice of toast, in which I ordered rye. I was surprised that the ham was two large thick slices carved from a ham, the eggs and home fries hot from the kitchen and hit the spot. The food is a better price than most other places we had tried this week which made me quite please as well as my co-worker who had the farmers omelet which was large as well!

The best part of this place was the group of older gentlemen sitting around the counter drinking coffee and just talking with each other. However, you'd think there was a mad rush on breakfast around 9:45 on a Thursday morning since it took well over half an hour for my so-so omelette and my husband's eggs and scrapple to be served. The waitress was breaking up ice at the counter where we were sitting and chips kept landing all around us. I was disappointed in our experience here especially after reading so many positive reviews. Oh, well...

Shortly after entering this establishment, I realized I had dinner in this building before, but the last time was several years ago (was Naples Pizza & Pasta back then, in 2018). Everything had changed, decor was simple and rustic now. Anyway, we ordered lunch. Conversation between us was strained because the music was a bit loud (albeit, it was a decent genre, 70's & 80's Rock). It took a while for the meals to arrive to our table, even though only one other table was occupied at that time in the restaurant. Our waiter was a bit inattentive also (or maybe inexperienced ?). I had to get up to ask him for some plates for our mozzarella stick appetizer, some ice in my wife's Iced Tea, a bottle of ketchup for my Mother In Law's French fries, and the coleslaw that was suppose to come with my Mother In Law's meal. Food was alright though, not great, but not horrible either. I don't agree with the 4 & 5 Star reviews for this place though, maybe breakfast is better, but that certainly wasn't what I experienced yesterday during our lunch. I imagine I still might be back someday, because it's close to where my Mother In Law lives and there really isn't a lot of choices nearby. A weak 3 Star Rating for now, I'll write an updated review when we return for breakfast sometime.

She brought the drinks out quickly but it did take about 20 more minutes for her to come back and take our food order. We waited about another 20 minutes for the appetizers to come out. When they did, they were cold. The buffalo wings were literally cold to the touch. The flavor was good, but the sauce on top was no longer moist, it was dry as if the wings had been sitting out for a while. The mozzarella sticks had good flavor, but again, they were cold. We waited another 20 minutes for our entrees to come out. I ordered the Plumsted burger with sweet potato fries. The only thing that was hot was the burger itself. The bread was also cold to the touch, and the fries had completely cooled down as well. The description of the burger stated "fried onions". I thought this meant it would include something similar to an onion ring. Instead, the burger had sautéed onions on it, which I do not like, at all. We also ordered the chicken parm sandwich. The sauce tasted straight out of a can. The temperature was warm, not hot. It was closer to being cool. Fries that it came with were mediocre. Overall, the common issue was the temperature of the food. Nothing was hot. I don't know if it's because it was sitting out in the back for too long. Our waitress never came over to check on us/ask if we needed anything. We waited too long for each dish and even trying to pay took forever. I think everyone was very overwhelmed. This place might be better on a weekday when it isn't as busy. But as for my experience on this particular day, I wouldn't return. They had the bartenders serving the high top tables as well and I think this was the downfall. The bar was completely packed and it was just too much to handle. They need to let the bartenders focus on the people at the bar and get more servers for the floor. Also overheard one waitress saying "these customers think they could do whatever the f*** they want". Very unprofessional. Would not recommend this place.

You know? That umami crunch!!!! Yum. If you are not a fan of the crunch... I was educated to not say anything if you can't be nice. Mum's the word. The pretzel itself was delightful and I'd have ordered just one of those as the way the saltiness of it compliments the steak and cheese makes you want one all on its own. Because this venue is part of an outdoor community event, I can tell you that the seating provided at the location is plentiful. But, bring chairs with you in case it's busier than you expect. As for the food truck service? Five stars! The cashier and "front of the house" was taking the orders from each person in line then promptly serving out the completed ones, calmly, in due order and keeping everything warm and handing out the food with a smile on her face and plenty of napkins!!!! Much needed. I'm definitely planning to return to enjoy this delightful combination of a Philly pretzel with cheesesteak before they head on out this year in Brigantine. If you see them listed in your event near you, do make them part of your Food Extravaganza! It's a great food truck. It's one I had skipped in previous year at the Brigantine food truck festival. Please do enjoy the outdoors as you enjoy a wonderfully constructed sandwich amongst the folk in the city into a summer night. Enjoy!
