Cash only, has a really great homestyle feel, but the wait-staff don't go above and beyond to cater to you. If you need something, gotta ask. Didn't get refills on anything until we asked. Not much seating, but a decent small town diner with regulars who do entertain x3 we enjoyed the food, price and ambiance... just felt a bit out of place since it was our first time, totally felt like an outsider. Ate breakfast with my Father-In-Law here yesterday. Small diner with a standard breakfast menu. Place was filled with patrons, and the only waitress was busting her butt to serve everyone, but our food came out w/o too much of a wait. I had the "Going Nuts" pancakes (pecans) with a side of sausage links. It was decent. I'd say Tootie's II is a 3.5 Rating, slightly better than your average diner. read more

Tootsie's is a small old school local diner. They have booth and counter seating which keeps the limited waitstaff constantly on the go. The Italian hot dog came with a flavorful hot dog that had a nice snap with eat bite. The EM (Emily) sandwich was a flavorful surprise. The place is clean, affordable and reminiscent of old school small hometown diners. We shouldn't have waited 23 years to visit this family diner. read more

I had a very good small town diner experience at Tootie's. I got there Friday morning around 8:00 and sat at the diner counter. Probably half dozen people in the restaurant. I had the meat lovers omelet and added onions and cheese. I also ordered a side of sausage which came out first. Coffee was spot on and not weak, and it was topped off frequently. Nice small town diner in the downtown. Tootie's is a solid recommend for a diner. As one other person mentioned, it's a cash only joint. read more

Great breakfast/lunch place in the center of New Egypt. Everything is fresh made to order and worth the wait! The omelettes are the best around. Try a Cooper cheese and pork roll omelette! It is amazing! The daily specials and the soups are always worth trying! If you see Mac and cheese on the specials you have to try it!!! read more

Where is my flipping food! It's been an hour and a half and the restaurant is empty. I guess if you are a regular you get your food first. Do you seriously cook one egg at a time? French toast and eggs don't take 90 mins to cook. New cook needed. Someone who can multitask at least. About to leave. This is ridiculous. read more

It s where the local regulars hang out. The food is great. Tootie, Alex,Olivia, Ruth Ann, etc are all so nice. It's small and sometimes it gets really busy. Has ice cream outside. a unique small town cafe. read more

I would have given this place more stars for the good breakfast food and nice waitress but the lack of social distancing and customers coming in and out without masks was uncomfortable. At one point one of the kitchen staff came out without a mask to chill out and talk to the waitress. Luckily I had both vaccine doses so my experience is sort of a test. Every booth and even the counter was packed. If you're the type of person who is concerned about catching covid and aren't vaccinated yet, I would skip this place. read more

This place is the best! We had a wonderful, patient server. I am extra, extra, extra when it comes to my food. I had told her I would want a ton of hot syrup and butter and a ton of cream for my coffee! She was amazing and just laughed at all my requests, instead of giving me the evil eye. My sons won't go out to eat with me because "I'm so extra", as they put it! It is so worth going there the staff and patrons are so warm and welcoming. I am new to New Egypt and it was a pleasant surprise. I'll definitely be going back to be extra! read more

IF I COULD GIVE THEM A NEGATIVE 10 I WOULD! Absolute horrible service for people of color! On October 18, 2018 we went here for lunch. The waitress sat a local person prior to seating us even though we were there prior to them arriving. We sat at a booth in a corner and the waitress made eye contact with us maybe 8 times with no attempt to acknowledge us. We patiently waited for about 10 minutes; watching her service all patrons but us; refilling coffee, water, and even cleaning tables. Being that we were the only non caucasian people there; we were clearly not welcomed in this establishment. It's funny we can SERVE our country; yet we still can't be served in certain locations. #ENDRACISM read more

This is a very good hometown restaurant/diner. VERY casual, to include the requisite older guys drinking coffee at the counter. Today was quite busy and the waitress was really pressed to keep up with her orders. My meal took a little long to come out, but it was fresh and hot. I had the crispy chicken wrap with fries and some really good lima bean soup. Their cole slaw is very creamy and quite good. This is a great small town diner. Good food, fast and inexpensive. This is a family run place and the also have an adjacent ice cream shop. I had the meat lovers breakfast and it was still well under $10 with a drink. The service is home town friendly. They may strike up a conversation just to chit-chat. Great people and many regulars. I recommend you try to become one. Try the pork roll. It's a Jersey thing. read more

The ice cream cake was amazing and the ice cream is good. I wouldn't recommend the cobbler ice cream dish it was poorly made with a dry biscuit and soft serve ice cream on top and canned fruit. The breakfast was ok. The do get a lot of customers for breakfast. I just didn't enjoy it. But i will ALWAYS come back for the ice cream! read more

Worth the stop for breakfast! While food is not fancy or exceptional Tootie's is a good place for a basic meal. I ordered the 2 eggs, ham, that came with home fries and choice of toast, in which I ordered rye. I was surprised that the ham was two large thick slices carved from a ham, the eggs and home fries hot from the kitchen and hit the spot. The food is a better price than most other places we had tried this week which made me quite please as well as my co-worker who had the farmers omelet which was large as well! read more

The best part of this place was the group of older gentlemen sitting around the counter drinking coffee and just talking with each other. However, you'd think there was a mad rush on breakfast around 9:45 on a Thursday morning since it took well over half an hour for my so-so omelette and my husband's eggs and scrapple to be served. The waitress was breaking up ice at the counter where we were sitting and chips kept landing all around us. Awesome small town diner. Family owned and operated for over 30 years. Breakfast food is tasty and cheap. Their ice cream stand is a local favorite. Can't go wrong with this quaint little charmer. Only downfall is you have to bring cash, and I never carry any. Always have to make a special trip to get some before we go. read more

Nice, smallish breakfast/lunch place. All local patrons (except us!) Friendly server who recommended the Pork Roll Breakfast Sandwich which was delicious. It came with a slice of pickle (unusual to come at breakfast). The slaw was a good size but too creamy for me. My daughter had a vegetable omelet (she added cheese) It came with toast and home fries which were standard. Good, hot coffee. Clean. My only negative comment would be that the restroom needs updating. read more

This place was AWESOME!! We passed through on our way back from vacation. There was only one lovely waitress working and what seemed like 2 chefs (maybe 1???). We waited a good while (40 mins) for our order but this joint isn't fast food! It's home cooked food and worth the wait! I highly recommend! read more

This place is a tiny diner. I stopped in before a funeral with my son and husband. Our server was extremely nice and patient with us as it took us a while to get settled in with the baby and decide on what we wanted to order. I had a bacon/egg/cheese and my husband had the sausage/egg/cheese. They strangely came with cole slaw and a pickle . Both were a good size and enjoyable. The restaurant is definitely no frills and the bathroom tiny with no where to change a baby. But the food is fresh and tasty and the employees make you feel right at home. read more

We were in the area after Christmas because we were paying respects to my boyfriends parents. We needed to get flowers and saw this place on the way. We decided to stop for a quick bite. We are so happy we did. I had probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. The cole slaw was seriously the best I ever had. My boyfriend had the pancakes and devoured his plate. We love going to these mama and papa type places and this place is it. We will definitely be coming back. I'm happy I have leftovers for this car ride back to Long Island, NY. read more

This place is definitely one of the best spots in town for breakfast. They have all your favorite breakfast foods and lunch foods all time of the day from when they open to when they close. Even with the nice little ice cream shop it is a perfect spot for you and your family to have a nice breakfast or lunch. Walking into the restaurant makes you feel at home. They great you with a smile on there face and have you sit wherever. Definitely recommend if you are visiting town! read more

This place is great - Last Sunday we went for breakfast and there was only one waitress (place is very small) one of the customers cleaned a table for us to sit and then he served us coffee ( hysterical) at first we didn't know he was not a waiter. Then another customer helped by serving coffee to everyone! too funny - nice place , basic breakfast, fresh local fruit was served - People make this place and you have to get Ice Cream too! read more

I actually found this place through yelp. The diner we usually go to on the way to Six Flags Great Adventure (J Bs in Freehold) closed and we needed a quick replacement. Though past the amusement park, this was well worth the trip. This small but we'll established ice cream place and cafe was not too busy, but full of nice people, attentive staff and very good breakfast food. Everyone seemed to know each other and it was just a nice slice of smaller town life. Breakfast should not be hard to mess up and Tooties made it with flying colors. I'm impressed and will be back. A great local find. We stopped in before going wine tasting nearby because of the reviews here. It has that home-town feel and the food is really good. I had a BaconCheeseburger, my wife had the Patty Melt, our friends had the Onion Burger and Grilled Chicken sandwich. The Coleslaw is really good. The sweet potato fries are ok, small side order. It took a while for the meals to arrive to our table, even though only one other table was occupied at that time in the restaurant. Our waiter was a bit inattentive also (or maybe inexperienced ?). I had to get up to ask him for some plates for our mozzarella stick appetizer, some ice in my wife's Iced Tea, a bottle of ketchup for my Mother In Law's French fries, and the coleslaw that was suppose to come with my Mother In Law's meal. Food was alright though, not great, but not horrible either. I don't agree with the 4 & 5 Star reviews for this place though, maybe breakfast is better, but that certainly wasn't what I experienced yesterday during our lunch. I imagine I still might be back someday, because it's close to where my Mother In Law lives and there really isn't a lot of choices nearby. A weak 3 Star Rating for now, I'll write an updated review when we return for breakfast sometime.

Overall, the common issue was the temperature of the food. Nothing was hot. I don't know if it's because it was sitting out in the back for too long. Our waitress never came over to check on us/ask if we needed anything. We waited too long for each dish and even trying to pay took forever. I think everyone was very overwhelmed. This place might be better on a weekday when it isn't as busy. But as for my experience on this particular day, I wouldn't return. They had the bartenders serving the high top tables as well and I think this was the downfall. The bar was completely packed and it was just too much to handle. They need to let the bartenders focus on the people at the bar and get more servers for the floor. Also overheard one waitress saying "these customers think they could do whatever the f*** they want". Very unprofessional. Would not recommend this place.

But the second an actual veteran asks for a military discount, suddenly it's a problem. Nobody has to kiss my ass or say "thank you for your service," I honestly don't care about that. But don't sit there marketing yourselves like you support the military if you really don't give a fuck. If I could rate this place below one star, I absolutely would.
