Anytime I'm driving through the Millstone/Freehold area I make it a point to stop into GianMarco's, but it's not all great! Pros- the flavor and portion sizes of their food is wonderful! This visit I ordered fried zucchini sticks as an appetizer, Chicken Amalfi as my entree, and chocolate mousse cake for dessert. The flavor for everything was on point! Cons- I absolutely HATE when my pasta dish is swinging in a lake of sauce...ever heard of cornstarch?? Let's thicken it up a bit, fellas! Also the dining area is atrocious!! I feel dirty every time I go there. Lastly, I was batting away flies throughout my entire meal. All this negative leaves room for much improvement. I hope their management makes some changes so future visits can be more enjoyable. As it stands now I would only go alone and never take a guest. read more

We were in the area during lunch time and were looking for a quick bite to eat and stopped here. There was no one else in the restaurant except for 2 employees when we arrived. We ordered the chicken bake and a margarita slice and plain slice. They heated up the order and told us to sit at any booth. The booths were falling apart, all the seats were extremely cracked and needed to be replaced. The tables didn't seem very clean and had a dirty film on them. The slices I had were pretty good, but I burned my mouth really bad since they were heated too long. My boyfriend said his chicken bake was decent as well. Our experience would have been better if the restaurant was cleaner and more up to date. read more

I wish that we had a better experience eating at GianMarcos, but it was a perfect storm of a recent shipment and being busy. It felt like we were dining in their break room. The space was very tight, and a few of us had to keep moving to let ppl by to go to the bathroom. We also got our food at completely different times. 1 person was finished with their food before 2 others even got their food. They got 4 stars from me because the food was very good and they were so nice about everything. They kept apologizing for the wait and conditions. The chicken parm roll and sauage roll are delicious. I always stop when traveling Rt 571. In all fairness they are the only two things I have had there. I'm just not willing to try something else because I like these. Great place to dine after 6 Flags. Staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is quant Italian, yet fun and upbeat with table and booth seating. The food is fantastic, very reasonably priced, and big in portions sizes. This is an amazing rest stop/dining experience after 6 Flags, especially if you're from NY and want a more substantial meal before driving home. On my visit I had the pleasure of meeting the owner Carlo. He took the time to talk and asked how I liked the food. He was very friendly and thankful. It's been almost 5 years since I've been back here! I always go here when I visit my Sister on the Mainland and last time was 2017. We love their pizza and hot subs! Also, their stuffed rolls are good! So, no difference this time! We ordered take-out; whole eggplant parm sub, whole veal parm sub, crispy chicken & swiss panini (more on this later), baked clams, and large mussels. We ordered on this from their menu on their website (https://gianmarcospizza.weebly.com/menus.html) When I went to pick up, they had to look for my order in the kitchen as it wasn't out so gave me a couple of minutes to take a quick look at their paper menu (attached) on the counter. In just a couple of minutes, I was a little sticker-shock as the prices for my items had all gone up! and not by just a little but about 30%! i.e. whole veal parm sub was $10.95 on their website menu but is now $13.95 and so on! Also, I noticed crispy chicken & swiss panini isn't even on the paper menu anymore! And, there's only 1 size for the mussels - large. So, good thing we did ordered large! Overall, the "latest" prices still isn't too bad - given everything that's going on! But, I do wish they would update their website as it does seem a little misleading. The food is still very good and good portions! I would have to warn that the sauce is a little on the salty-side (marinara sauce with mussels) and the baked clams breading was a little salty, too. I really liked the decor inside this establishment. The bathroom looks like a bank vault door. The restaurant and bathroom were clean, minus the rags on the floor in the hallway by the bathroom. There is a parking lot as there are other business in this location. We googled this place after leaving 6 Flags and had a party of 8. Pepsi products and no sprite but ginger ale to substitute. We ordered a large pie, 3 personal pans (1 w/fries,salad and garlic knots) and it was either a Stromboli or calzone. Fries and salads came along with pie and then the wait began for everyone else to get there food. It did come but after we had to get up and ask another worker inside about our food. We weren't given cutlery, had to ask for them and then ask for napkins, all after we received our food. How were we to eat our salads?!? Personal pie came after we were done with the pie. When Stromboli arrived it appeared burnt. But after waiting so long for the food to arrive, we weren't going to send it back. Our new server was apologetic and noticed us without cutlery and napkins and made mention. He even tried to give us another Stromboli but we were just ready to hit the road. For the lack of attention to our orders that were placed, we were provided with free cake and Stromboli was taken off. Pizza dough seemed very thick and the sauce didn't have much flavor. read more

One of the worst food experiences I've had. I ordered a calzone with mushrooms and a slice of pizza. When I asked to pay, the girl working said "I don't work the register" and that the cashier was outside smoking. He came back inside wearing his mask as a chin guard after 15 minutes. The girl served me the slice by the crust with her bare hands, no gloves (I ripped the crust off). I took the calzone to my car to eat. I tore it in half and instead of mushrooms, it was full of ham--which I don't eat. I went back inside and the workers were completely apathetic. Instead of refunding me on my card, the cashier gave me a $10 bill which was less than what I was owed ($9.95+tax). At that point I was too annoyed to argue with the rude staff and left. Do not come here if you expect an accurate order, hygienic food handling, or half-decent customer service. read more

I will preface this by saying I love pizza and I was really hungry when I went in there today. The guy behind the counter recommended that I get a specialty slice with fresh mozzarella on it, so I ordered one of those and a plain slice to go. I got back in my jeep and started to eat them...they were absolutely awful. The first slice had zero flavor and was on some of the floppiest crust I've ever had. Looking for authentic New York Pizza this is the spot. They are so friendly and the food is amazing their diner bread is killer. I have had the pizza and sausage roll and garlic knots so far. As a former New Yorker eating their food feels like home. They also have a plethora of dessert as well as Italian ice. I didn't take a picture unfortunately but this place is a full FAT 5 stars!!!! The pizza is fantastic! I love the crust, the cheese is amazing and the gravy is just ok. If I were to rank the pizza alone, I would give three stars. However, this place's specialty is not pizza... it's the burgers. This place honestly has the best burgers around. They use very expensive meats that actually taste more like steak than the cheap beef you'll find elsewhere. On top of that, the buns are indescribable. I would definitely recommend the burger. So I needed something to eat on New Year's Day and this was the only pizza place open that was close. Seems like every year I try to give them a shot and they disappoint!!! Ordered a large pizza that looks more like a small or medium from other places. For $24 I have to say I was disappointed in the quantity of food that I got, the pizza was luke warm but I have to say the crust was perfect. Won't see me again in 2019 GianMarcos but maybe we will give it a try again in 2020 to see if anything has changed! read more

The perfect stop after a long day at Six Flags. My friends and I (a party of 13 people) arrived 10 minutes before closing and we were ready to be turned away but the staff were so understanding. We even asked if they wanted us to do takeout so that they could start closing up and they graciously insisted that we stay and eat. They made us two whole pies (cheese and sausage - delicious, hit the spot!) within 5 minutes. And the chicken wings were AMAZING. They usually toss them in buffalo sauce, but I asked if they had garlic parm flavor and they improvised by tossing it in their garlic knot sauce. TO. DIE. FOR. Unfortunately, its definitely not a real menu item, but they were the best wings I've had in a long time. So grateful to all the staff that were there the night of 10/31/2021!!
