I've been to many cracker barrels, but this is one of my favorites. Unlike the other cracker barrel in Denver, the staff here is attentive and nice. Shout out to Marcia, the very sweet lady who served us! She's incredibly kind, we're very lucky we got her. The food was amazing as always (bacon mac and cheese is very good). I just wish you guys would bring back the frozen cider please!!!! Also, the cashier was very sweet too. I feel horrible for forgetting her name, but she was a very kind older lady. Shout out to her, too. Give her a raise. Also, when we were there, the staff kept passing around a little orange thing. But like, discreetly. We imagined it to be an inside joke, since one of the ladies it got passed to just rolled her eyes and put it in her pocket. It was gone shortly after, so I imagine she passed it to the next guy. I go to Cracker Barrel a lot. It's easy to do takeout and there are things there that I really like like the chicken and dumplings. Is this five star dining? No. But I do feel like the last year they started to improve. This night I had the chicken fried steak. I actually also went there a few days before and had the shepherds pie. The shepherds pie was really good. The chicken fried steak was OK. But I had a bite of my friend's chicken noodle soup and it was outstanding. We used to love this place! We used to come in dine here all the time for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We endured the long wait times sitting in the rocking chairs in front of the restaurant or walking around the country store. The service used to be super friendly and the food came out hot and fast. Now the wait on everything from getting checked in, to getting a table, to getting a server to the table and getting your food is a joke. Even the online waitlist doesn't help. One time we were told our wait didn't start until we physically checked in at the host stand, another time they gave our table away to someone else who claimed their table was ready, multiple times they told me they didn't have me on the waitlist when I had my confirmation text messages. Once you're seated, it takes a long time for someone to acknolwedge you're there. Then, another 5-10 minutes to order, more than 20 minutes for the food to come out. Several times our food was delivered to another table or didn't come out unless we asked how much longer it would be. Our orders have been missing items or wrong with no apologies. And silverware! Why do we have to ask for silverware lately? The menu has also been cut down with the new rebranding. And even with the reduced menu, they have been out of items the last couple of times we went. How do you not have your staple hashbrown casserole? This location has always been crazy busy and the service never faultered but now it's not even as busy as it used to be and the service has really gone down. I love Cracker Barrel with all of my heart. I frequently go with mom and recently went with a friend for prom. The ambience of the restaurant is very homey and comforting, and the staff is incredibly kind! When I went on prom night, our server was very kind, always checking in for condiments, refills, and questions, even taking the time to get us an extra peg game to play! Absolutely terrible. Server was Adriana S My dad never got his burger until we left in a box. I got the kids breakfast meat biscuit. Looked great on the menu but no, it was fallen apart not nearly like the menu said. My sister got a potato as a side, she got mashed potatoes no ambience at all we got the manager and he got us the food the server never got. Went today for a late breakfast. Ordered Eggs, Sausage, Beignets, Fried Apples, and Biscuits, the Sausage was over done, but my waiter, Chris, replaced it and it was Delicious, except way too salty. My food came out hot, but took forever to come to me, probably like at least 20-30 minutes. My waiter, Chris, was fabulous! Very attentive and helpful. He apologized for my food taking that long. We had a short wait to get in so we browsed the store. So many things to see, will definitely come back and visit the store. We walked in to the restaurant portion and it reminded me of a cafeteria, more home style but more like the seating at a food court where they cram as many tables in as possible. The waiter was friendly and personable. I ordered the peach mimosa and it was very good! The iced tea is fresh brewed too and not out of a fountain. We've always found the time to visit Cracker Barrel. It scratches the itch of chain based comfort food. We also love the "store font" which gives us the unique opportunity for us to explore while we wait for our table. This particular Cracker Barrel has not gone through logo changes or redesign but that does not matter. My review focuses on their quality of service. As for the food itself, good or bad, is still pretty much the same as it has been. However, the service is what I am focused on. It was just not what I have come to expect. We walked in the restaurant and went to the host check-in, and stood there for about 5-7 minutes with no one checking in on us. Although we made eye contact with pretty much most of the staff during our wait period. I noticed the "Download our app and add yourself to the wait list" sign so, still standing at the host check-in, I downloaded the app, created an account and checked in. "You are 4th in line. Estimated wait: 5 minutes. Click HERE when you have arrived". I clicked HERE and we proceeded to walk around the store. Fifteen minutes later, I was still 4th in line, so I went back to host check-in. A host was there, and I asked for our status and he took us to a table. We ordered,and the wait staff seemed very very busy. I got a salad before my meal, but no silverware. It took about 8 minutes for me to be checked on and I asked for silverware. I got it, but no apology or explanation. Keep in mind: they delivered the salad and knew that I didn't touch it for 8 minutes because of no silverware. But no "Opps!l" When they delivered the meals, they forgot two sides for our meals - and we decided not to complain. We just wanted to end our experience as the length of time we had invested in this meal was a little over the top. When we left and got back in the car, I went to delete the app and it told me that I was still "4th in line". My inconvenience was minor; about 20 extra minutes of waiting and I didn't get everything I paid for and interfaced with a overly busy wait staff that did not have the buffer time to add that "Cracker Barrel personality". I haven't given up on them. I know they are going through menu changes, new tech, rebranding, etc. so I am hoping all of this is related to that. I just know I'm going to wait for all of that to settle before I go back. As always, your mileage may vary. read more

I am a big fan of Cracker Barrel, especially when on a road trip. I have thoroughly enjoyed meals at Cracker Barrel in many states from Michigan and Wisconsin to Colorado and Arizona. I have to say that this location had the absolute worst service I have ever experienced. They were not that busy, but I am guessing they were understaffed. our waitress (A) was slow in greeting us. She was slow in getting our drink orders. She was slow in getting our drinks out. She was slow in getting our order. She was slow in bringing our food out and she kept us waiting for the bill for about 15 minutes after I asked her for it and I think she was just in the back. my husband's chicken salad was delicious as was my chicken and dumplings. However, I have ordered the chicken and dumplings in many other Cracker Barrel locations and they were delicious but at this location I am positive. They used a broth that had MSG in it. I was violently ill after eating the chicken and dumplings. I will not go back to this location. read more

I feel like all Cracker Barrel's are the same as far as decor and the feel. You have been to one you have been to all of them. The food we ordered came out... Big improvements. I know Cracker Barrel is in the middle of a turnaround, so I gave them another chance when they brought the Campfire Chicken back. Service is MUCH better. The menu is overall improved. I tried the Campfire chicken. They appeared to have changed up the seasonings a bit. I wouldn't call it on par with original, but it's still quite good. So we've now been back to this location three times in the last two months. Today's service has been a huge improvement. I'm only giving three stars because the restaurant still needs a major refresh. Everything is old and sometimes the tables and/or chairs are in need of a good cleaning. One time the table was sticky, perhaps from maple syrup. But CB is on the right track IMO. read more

After checking out of the hotel in nearby Westminster, I stopped in here for breakfast. I was here on a Monday at about 11 am and it wasn't too busy. I was seated right away. I started things off with coffee. While waiting for the waitress to swing by my table, I noticed that they had New York Strip Steak n' Eggs as a new item on their menu. I was tempted to ordered that, but in the end I went with my usual Country Boy Breakfast. I got it with sirloin steak tips, grits, and hash brown casserole. Cracker Barrel advertises chicken noodle soup on their menu, but when we arrived to order it, we were told they decided not to make it. No explanation, no apology -- just "we didn't make it today." What made the experience worse was the manager's flippant and dismissive attitude when we asked about it. Instead of acknowledging the inconvenience or offering an alternative, the response came across as indifferent, as if it was unreasonable to expect an item that's still listed on the menu to actually be available. If menu items are routinely not offered, that should be communicated clearly -- and basic customer service should include professionalism and courtesy. My hubby knows I love Cracker Barrel! Warning: do NOT eat here on a Monday! The supply trucks don't arrive until Tuesday, so they were out of many items including corn muffins, pinto beans, and fresh hash brown casserole. Our food was cold and tasted exactly the same: like black pepper. Pepper was overly abundant in the gravy, mashed potatoes, chicken breading, and dumplings. It was even speckled in the salt shaker! Our server struggled taking care of three tables and was rarely in sight. The only redeeming items were desserts and the meatloaf. Not sure if we will ever be back. read more

I ordered the New York Steak Strip and asked for medium rare, but it came out medium. I didn't mind because it still tasted fine, but it was a bit dry. Lots to look at while you're waiting for your table Today, our lunch was tasty and humongous shareable portions! I had the fried haddock with, okra, green beans, and dumplings. My husband had the Saturday special which was country fried pork chops, smothered in gravy. He got grits and french fries. Comes with biscuits or cornbread. The biscuits are so good. I have eaten at this location a few times. Most of those have been fine. Descent food for cheap. I took my family here last night. I got corn and Mac and cheese for sides. Both were unedible. It was like the corn had been over microwaved, it was chewy and stuck to my teeth. The mac n cheese was way over cooked, it tasted like plain over cooked mushy elbow pasta. The food prices have doubled as well. The service was the worst I have ever had. It took 25 minutes to get water. 40 minutes to get our order taken. And over an hour to get our food. We arrived at 6:30pm and walked out at 8:30pm. I saw at least 2 tables of people leave after 20-30 minutes without receiving service. read more

I enjoy the down home feel and comfort food at Cracker Barrel. I can always find something I've been craving, and it's always satisfying. The staff is catering and quick to get you refills. This location is only 5 mins from our hotel so we decided to stop by for breakfast. Our server was super nice and the service was quick. The price is almost affordable here. Cracker Barrel is a fine brunch option. It's always super busy and not the fastest, but you get what feels like a step above the Denny's and IHOP's of the world. My favorite is the Momma's Pancake Breakfast which grants you a trio of Buttermilk Pancakes topped with butter/syrup, a pair of scrambled eggs (I ask to add a hint of cheese) and some chicken sausage. One of CB's signature items is their fried apples in a cinnamon sauce glaze, which pairs well with the plain pancakes and quite frankly a better topping than the syrup, so I always get a side. The eggs and sausage are nothing to write home about, but I do really enjoy the pancakes + apples mix. I also decided to pre-order a Thanksgiving plate for myself this year. Though my pickup time was 3p, I waited in a line of cars and didn't get my food until after 430p. It was bonkers. I assume they plated my order when I finally got to the front of the line as opposed to it sitting in a bag for hours, but still. The Thanksgiving items were hit or miss. The turkey and gravy was fine, as was the corn niblets, Mac & cheese, mashed & sweet potatoes, and pumpkin pie. However the stuffing was positively slimy and disgusting and the green beans were a let down. Would definitely not wait over 90 minutes for this meal next year. This location is right off the freeway so if you're craving a country style breakfast, it's not a bad stop. Just have some patience and don't expect it to change your life. read more

We called the night before to give them a heads up that we would have 15 people and didn't want to surprise them. I talked to a female manager, she took my name and phone number and said they would have a table ready for us. We got there early to just confirm, the staff didn't know anything about is coming in. I asked to talk to the manager on duty and he could not care less. We waited until they texted me, then when we went in, they told us they had three tables all separate from one another. This store needs new management! I felt sorry for the staff! We will never go to this Cracker Barrel again! If I could give 0 stars I would for this restaurant. Have my wife and 86 year old mother in law here. We put our names in long before we arrived and told 40-50 minutes. After waiting this long, we're told our names just went in and now a 90 minute wait. So what is my wife's 86 year old mother supposed to do? You can't even friggin move around in this place. We were told they weren't taking online sign ups. Worst organized damn restaurant I've ever been in. Also , when you allow f'ing parties if 30 in to eat no one else will get in. This WAS my place. I always had family meet us here as a half way point for us, an hour on both sides, because we loved it. Whatever they have done with this new menu has ruined it. Did they fire their chef? The roast beef was marked as 'new' which anyone who has been coming here their whole life, knows it's not new. But I was wrong, the broth was weak. It used to have a nice rich thick broth full of flavor, it does not anymore. The dumplings were so liquidy, not the consistency of a true southern meal. They also changed the number of sides on several meals, limiting it. So very disappointed as this was a place for us to gather around good food.
