Ordered Barrel cheese burger and fries done medium well. Looked very appetizing at first glance. Served with mayonnaise, lettuce, and tomato. Fries were excellent, but the burger was a different story. Bun was stale and falling apart. Burger was rare side of medium and had a lighter fluid after taste. Nasty! I managed to eat half, before I had to give up on it. The bread and butter pickles were very good, but two small pickles was not enough. Service was very slow for a Thursday. Good took forever and my husband's was cold. Mine was tasteless. I had the turkey. We have ordered delivery from here about once a month and food quality has gone down. Chicken & dumplings are mostly thick, chewy dumplings with very little chicken (3 orders). Fried chicken is primarily flavorless breading with almost no meat. Mashed potatoes with brown gravy were lumps of potatoes, not mashed, thick & dry with not much gravy. Country-fried steak was okay. Green beans have little flavor. We have not experienced these issues when stopping at other CB's on the road, and used to get better food here. read more

Got a 4 piece fried chicken dinner. I called in the order at 5:30 and tow. The person to have it ready at 6:30. I arrived 5 minutes early and the meal was waiting - the person at the register was nice and polite. When I got the item home five minutes later, the meal was cold, the chicken was tough and virtually uneditable. When we arrived, the table was sticky and dirty. I asked for it to be washed and got an okay, but it never happened. Then I started looking around and this place is really really filthy. Food splatters and all kinds of smears all over the dividers and pictures, thick dust on all the decorations. When the food was brought, the bottle of syrup was laid on top of one of my pancakes. Food is always amazing but we always get horrible service. This past time we went it was a whole 360 and I was very impressed. The hosts was beyond amazing and his service was incredible. This young man actually assisted me with my Togo Order my previous visit before this last visit and he was very helpful. Nathan our server was ATTENTIVE, POLITE,TERRIFIC and he actually communicated with us in Spanish . I mean this guy set the bar and he turned around and redeemed this restaurant. If I could give this negative stars I would. Orders fried chicken, mashed potatoes and turnip greens. Pretty easy. The chicken was inedible even after scraping off the over salted crust with the flavorless gravy, the mashed potatoes tasted like over baked bake potatoes that had been squashed with a spoon there were hard over cooked pieces on them and again the brown gravy was flavorless now for the turnip greens they had a unidentifiable piece of plastic rod some sort in them which I let the server know about and she took so she could show the manager and cooks. I was told the manager was to come and speak with me they never showed. My husband had meat loaf, fried okra and green beans all my husband could say was IT SUCKED, he was sure we fed our passed pooch better tasting food. We should have gone to the Panda Express which I'm not a fan of but I'm sure the food would have been better. 40 minute wait time and the food was horrible. Raw hamburger meat with blood on the plate and it was still served. Raw bacon, eggs overcooked with a slice of cheese on the bottom that wasn't even melted. Our server was amazing. Her name was Melissa, she apologized even though the poorly cooked food wasn't her fault. She asked her manager to come out and speak to us. She stated he refused to come out. Customer service is always the best here. I miss the manager of this store as he retired last year. He used to always come up to our table and ask how we were doing. Furthermore, he always had a smile. However, others have been doing the same. Cracker Barrel isn't what it use to be. It's low grade cafeteria food at best these days. The pancakes tend to taste like cooking oil more than anything else. We've tried dine-in, takeout, and delivery services. The takeout customer experience is terrible. You let them know when you arrive for the pickup and then they prepare the order. You would think that would mean your food would be hot and fresh, but this goes back to my cafeteria comment. Food may be over cooked in some areas as it's sat under heat lamps for extended periods of time. The only thing that seems to be good to order is the eggs. If you need something from Cracker Barrel, opt for the delivery service to avoid the wait, and the food is the same temperature and quality as if you picked it up yourself. read more

We stopped in on our road trip back home to PA on 11/27/22. We've had a not so great experience recently at a Cracker Barrel and were a little gun-shy. We read the most recent reviews and were skeptical but as the manager responded to those reviews we decided to chance it figuring of the manager is paying attention, there's a good chance we won't experience the same issues as the previous customers who let those not-so-great reviews. Glad we did! We were greeted promptly and sat quickly. Our server, Areesa, was polite and friendly. We made an online delivery order at 9:30 am. We had an expected delivery time of 9:57 am. At 10:10 I called our driver and he advised he was still waiting on our food order. I called the store and at 10:15 the so called manager, who was less than helpful, advised me they were short staffed and she was busy. She also said those times are not exact even though our food still hadn't been picked up almost 30 min from delivery estimation. Any time I can get breakfast after "breakfast hours" I'm happy. We checked in to be seated and were told it would be a while. Thankfully, their definition of a while was 10 minutes for a party of 6. Well the eggs were almost raw and the steak was well done. Who eats a well done steak?!? Not us. My sausage and biscuits were ok, but nothing to write home about. So dissatisfied!! Of all the area Cracker Barrels, I think this one is the best. I believe it is the newest of them in Chattanooga area. I live on the north side of town, so it's definitely a trip to get there, but obviously I keep coming back for a reason. There's not much I can say about the menu. It's a classic menu that has been relatively unchanged for as long as I remember. They have new desserts from time to time, and new dinner options, but I don't pay them much mind. I'm there for one thing--Breakfast. I'm a "Sunrise Sampler" guy. It's the best of everything that says CB. Hashbrown casserole, Fried apples, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, ham!!! I am worthless the rest of the day. But I'll pay that price. Ha! I recommend This particular CB. I will be back. read more

There is nothing good to say about this location. I ordered pancakes and it took at least one half hour to get. With it was toast but even after a half hour the toast was not ready. What infuriated me more is there was no apology or even acknowledgement of the shoddy experience. Cracker Barrel needs to spend less time stocking the front full of crap and more time servicing their customers. They should also train their people to talk, smile and recognize / apologize when something goes wrong. This is a "No return" location for me. Great service as usual for Cracker Barrel with a nice southern flare of extra hospitality! American fare and home cooking is at its best with selection, value and quality. Look at the daily specials, cozy up to the fire, check out all the American relics that scatter the restaurant. We continue our to like the gift shop (huge variety), checkers available for play and of course the long outdoor porch with rocking chairs. My favorite dishes are the chicken strips and trout for dinnner. Mac N' cheese is a MUST for your side options and who doesn't love the corn bread and biscuits. Of course breakfast never disappoints at CB either. Mama's breakfast is personal favorite with all the fixins - get that biscuits and gravy.
