    Meatloaf
    Richard A.

Started with coffee and it was cold and old. Sent it back. The menu has changed and it was difficult to find out what I wanted. They use to bring you biscuits or muffins, now you have to order them. Ordered meatloaf with mashed potatoes, corn muffin and fried apples slices. They were very good. Potatoes were lukewarm. Tried a slice of ham and did not like the taste. Also tried a piece of bacon and it was good.

Arriving late and leaving early, I did not have the opportunity to enjoy a meal this time at the Cracker Barrel. But the Cracker Barrel completely supports the RVers and so I owe them a breakfast! Yes, RVs are allowed to use the Cracker Barrel parking lot for overnight parking. And if you're one of those people, I just ask that you please be respectful of the space. Leave it better than when you arrived. [Review 20580 overall - 115 in Indiana - 1561 of 2023.]

Cracker barrel used to be my go to place when traveling, however, over the years the quality and price has changed and it doesn't matter which location I go to so I haven't been stopping in. I decided to stop in ar this location as I was in a hurry and I was surprised that the food did come out fresh and correct. Service was average. May give it another try sometime down the road just to see if this was a fluke experience.

This location is just off Quaker Blvd. near the I-70 interchange and is quite convenient to the gaggle of airport hotels clustered around it. The building and the interior are reminiscent of Midwestern family-style restaurants. The facility is comfortable with ample seating, however, having both booths and tables. The breakfast menu features traditional Midwestern breakfast fare with pancakes, of course, as a cornerstone offering. We visited on a Friday morning and were seated right away. Our server, Amy, took care of us quickly and did a good job throughout our visit. My colleague went with the theme and got the big stack of six pancakes, too much for one sitting. He also got a side of fresh fruit, which was a nice offering. I went a little heavier and got the corned beef hash, a favorite of mine. Here, it comes with hash browns, which is a little unusual. I certainly appreciated this nuance. I also had some hash and potatoes left over to take away. We both thought our choices to be quite good. The coffee was not bad and more than adequate with food (not sure how it would be on its own, which is the ultimate test for coffee). Between the two of us with food, drink, tax and tip, we spent $42. By today's standards, that's not unreasonable. It was not a bad value considering we each had enough to take away for another meal. I would not hesitate to go back if another opportunity arose.

The service was mediocre, and the ambiance was slightly unpleasant. Of course, this was just my experience. If you decide to visit, give it a try and form your own opinion. The service was absolutely impeccable: attentive without hovering, warm without pretense, and delivered with the sort of genuine hospitality that makes you feel less like a customer and more like an honored guest at an impossibly chic gathering. And then came the drinks. The pistachio latte was a masterpiece of balance and indulgence -- velvety, nutty, and luxuriously smooth, as though a pistachio grove had somehow been distilled into liquid silk. Each sip unfolded like a sonnet. The wildflower latte, meanwhile, was pure poetry in a cup. Delicately floral without being overpowering, it carried an almost ethereal sweetness, like spring itself had been persuaded to dissolve into espresso. It was whimsical, elegant, and astonishingly memorable. The Green Room Cafe has achieved what so many coffee shops aspire to but few truly accomplish: creating not just beverages, but an experience -- one steeped in artistry, comfort, and just the right amount of enchantment. A triumph. Five stars scarcely feels sufficient. Oh, and parking was mindlessly easy, the owner was present, the bathrooms impeccable, nursing mother's room near restrooms and high ceilings to dissipate the hum.

I HAD to try the Beach Day Latte. The latte was made perfectly. The icing on the cake was the house made coconut cold foam! Ohmygoodness- it was delicious. The breakfast sandwich was standard. I will say they did cook my egg to my liking. The bacon was good but still had grease on the two pieces. Our order taker was friendly and extremely helpful with the explaining the menu. I will definitely go back further the lattes!

The menu was so extensive, I completely missed one whole page of breakfast foods. They had everything with the exception of bagels. Portions are huge. They were so big, I could not finish my meal. Two could eat comfortably with the sizes of the dishes they brought out. Grits were a nice texture, not runny or pasty and yes, they serve grits this far north. I would estimate that they serve about 2-3 measuring cups worth in a cereal bowl. My three egg omelet was fine. The vegetables and ham were mixed in with the egg, which was cooked just fine. Pancakes are their signature dish and I really enjoyed these, except they were too big. Two fluffy pancakes stacked together just about covered a dinner plate. Too often pancakes are floppy or overcooked. These were perfect. I would have liked the option for real maple syrup, though. I enjoyed the steak frites entree, a generous portion of steak perfectly cooked, served with a delicious broccolini and tasty fries. My sister ordered the chicken marsala and noted that she would have liked more sauce, and the truffle potatoes were delicious. My brother said his huge pork chop was perfect, and my sister in-law recommended the sirloin steak. We had reservations and were seated at a high top table, which is not my preferred way to dine but the restaurant was full so we didn't ask to be moved. We had a bit of a wait for our entrees and chalked that up to it being Saturday night. There is a separate bar area and rooftop dining with igloos available.
