I come here once a year because it's one of my grandfather's favorite places and he's in his 90s so we never trt to change his mind. They are always great with our large party and we never have any complaints about their service. The food is always good until I try something new. I didn't realize Red Lobster had this location which I have been driving by for a very long time. I guess I pay too much attention to the traffic in front of me. The number of customers inside was light. No one was at the greeter station but I was spotted immediately by someone who showed me to a table right away. I knew what I wanted and found it on the menu before the server arrived. The only question was if I could substitute the Shrimp Scampi with Clam Strips on the Sailor's Platter. The platter also came with Popcorn Shrimp and Crispy Flounder. I didn't see the Clam Strips anywhere on the menu and was worried they didn't offer them anymore. My server told me she could get them for me. I told her it was the main reason I came there. I really like them. I also ordered a Side Salad as my side even though it was $1.99 extra. And I ended up only taking a half dozen bites to save room for my platter. It was a big salad and tasted great. The flounder was excellent! It was thin and crispy. I ate both fillets. When I was done there was still shrimp and clams on the plate because they brought out so much of them. I didn't order dessert as I was too full. Hostess was not the station to greet us, seated ourselves. waitresses came to give menus. Another staff member came to the table and asked if we were ready to order. Not yet was our response. Ten minutes later he shows up and ask if we are ready to order, we told him that we are sharing the flounder meal. After about 20 minutes we get the food and the baked potato was very small in size and piece of fish wasn't quite as big as I thought, sharing a meal it should have been enough for two people!The waiter was hard to understand because of his dialect. This is based on a delivered order. I just don't think it's a good idea to get crab legs delivered. They never have the same appeal as eating at the restaurant. I ordered the garlic cajun butter crab legs. They had the sauce in a separate container. This is liquid butter so of course it's messy and it's getting thru the packaging. Half the crab was empty. I had many pieces that hardly had any meat in them. It's crab fest so doesnt that mean they are "in season" or whatever lol. I also wish you could sub the potatoes that come with the legs for something diff. I absolutely don't like those potatoes. I prefer a baked potato or even mashed. We get there on a Friday night at 6pm and there were very few people in the restaurant. We waited a minutes for the server to come over to start with drinks. I can't blame her as she was in the middle of something. We started with the calamari. Well it was definitely frozen and beyond chewy. Then the Cesar salad came out. It was drenched with dressing and too much. Finally I had ordered the live Maine lobster. As I cracked it open a bunch of water came pouring out. It was clearly boiled (meat texture gave that away). There was no flavor to it and the meat was slimy. In total it came to $70. This will be the last time I go to a red lobster. Not worth the money. With it being Father's Day, our family was more than understanding that asking to accommodate 14 people wasn't going to be easy. I used to work in food service industry so I know how high-stress these environments can be. And how busy restaurants get on major holidays. But that is no excuse for the hostility and unprofessionalism we experienced. I called 2 hours ahead, knowing how important it was to get a reservation. They told me they couldn't accommodate a party of 14, it was too big. To which I said, that's completely fine. We can split into 2 smaller groups. They said unfortunately the wait would be at least 7pm if we wanted to sit next to each other. I said we didn't need to sit together and could be in two separate areas if needed. because of being willing to not sit in the same space, we made the reservation for 6pm. I gave them my mother's name and her phone number for the 2 separate reservations. We got there a little after 6pm (no later than 6:05pm). I can up to the host stand and told the hostess we were here for our two parties of 7. Remind you, I called 2 hours ahead and placed the reservation. She was incredibly polite and said it would be a moment. Then another lady came up, I am assuming a manager, and said there was no way we were going to get a seat for an hour to an hour and a half. And the attitude that was given was not professional. If the manager was overwhelmed with the volume of the restaurant, it was no reason to take it out on somebody who truly was approaching the situation with care. I was confused as we made a reservation and this wasn't communicated, but I wasn't angry or hostile. The hostess was respectful and professional but the manager on duty was not. This review isn't to discourage anyone from going as I'm sure it was just a chaotic day. But I hope higher ups see this review and communicate with this manager that her behavior and attitude weren't customer-friendly. read more

Nasty, I love dill - but it is so acidic, I had to put a little bit of sugar in it and still it was disgusting! If you like anything that requires their tartar sauce it does not resemble anything of the past. I had fried flounder, overcooked a little dry, ate what I could, had to use lemon. My son had a bacon cheeseburger had to take the bun off because it was too bready, the beef was too chewy, and hard to swallow, plus the bacon was undercooked. Sadly, the quality of the food at Red lobster has gone down immensely. The cleanliness especially their bathrooms, is a joke. We go to Red Lobster every year on my birthday (a 35+ year tradition) and I was a little nervous this year because Avon restaurants, in general, are terrible and service has been so, so bad at any chain we've been to lately. But this Red Lobster was a refreshing experience! We were greeted by a friendly host and quoted a 40-minute wait on a Saturday night but were seated within 15 minutes. Same great menu; prices didn't seem to be any higher than normal. Our server, Doug, was friendly and attentive and got everything right. We enjoyed the free Chocolate Wave as a birthday reward on the app. The dining room floor was a little messy, which was understandable with how busy it was and how many people were passing through, but I did see a server come through with a sweeper to try to freshen it up. A great experience overall, and I'll definitely be back next year for my birthday, if not before then! read more

What can I say? Good quality for the price. I know, Steak and Lobster tail may not look the best to some with a loaded baked potato and fries on the same plate. However, those are the only sides I cared for at the time. My spouse and I went to RL for the Wednesday Special of Steak and Lobster. It's a wild caught lobster tail and a 7oz peppercorn-seasoned sirloin with 2 sides for $20.99. Our server was knowledgeable and she even recommended a "Lobster Punch" drink they stopped advertising the night before. After a shopping excursion with my mom, she needed a break and wanted to stop here for lunch. There was a slight crowd, but not busy and we were immediately seated. All of the staff we encountered was very friendly and helpful. Everyone I passed acknowledged me with a greeting and a smile. We were seated up front by a window. We decided to go with items from their inexpensive specials. I went with the Southwest Style Tacos(I chose tilapia) and mom got the Golden Fried Catfish. I didn't love my tacos, but they were decent. Does Red Lobster still hold up? Yep. Not much has changed here and that's exactly what I want after taking my wife here on her birthday for the past fifteen years. Our sever was nice though I was slightly irked by a non-uniformed employee doing homework in the booth across from ours. I have nothing against doing homework or working your way through school but this is a business and... y'know. We, had a bad experience at a different Red Lobster location last month(Nov.9th 2019) which I had a $50 gift card from their Guest Relations Dept. It was already madness in Avon on Saturday due to it was the last Saturday before Christmas. We, made it to Red Lobster around 2ish in the afternoon, the weather was beautiful, warm, and the sun shinning bright. My mom & I were seated right away which our server was Gretchen N. The server was very energetic, warm people person, knew the menu very well, professional, and one of the best servers I've experienced this year(2019). For, our appetizers we had Lobster Artichoke Dip, and lobster pizza. For, my lunch meal I had 12 butterfly fried shrimps, fries with no seasonings, their spiced Southern punch, and my side I had lobster bisque soup which was an upcharge. My mom had Bahama Mama drink, & bowl of the lobster bisque soup. Great service by Gretchen, good time last Saturday, and both my mom and I left very satisfied with the restuarant. Went for a Saturday lunch with wife and mother in law. Not at all busy and seated right away. My popcorn shrimp and fries were very good. Wife and MIL's lunch also very good they said. I've loved the food at this place but the service is sometimes pretty bad with an average sized family. The biggest thing is that the waits are terrible and they DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO THEIR ONLINE WAIT LOST CORRECTLY. There are people at the restaurant that have been having the same problem and people are even confronting the people at the front desk due to the terrible service. I love the food and keep on coming back but they really need to fix the service aspect of this restaurant. I really hope that this place fixes their problems. read more

This is the second time I came to the red lobster in Avon, Indiana and the service was absolutely terrible we were seated in a booth. They took our order and never came back. We sit there for an hour, waiting on endless shrimp as the table next to his head round. After round we receive some burnt biscuits, a soggy salad, and some water down soda pop. I had to flag down the manager. A young lady told her my situation she said sorry to hear that and shoot me away like I was a fly turned her back and continue to talk to somebody else. It's crazy because I really felt races vibes in there. There were more caucasians than there were brown people. and as I sit back, and I observed, they really treated them like kings and queens. I visited this Red Lobster location Monday the 24 of June at around 5:30pm with three friends. We stood at the hostess stand for around 15 minutes before a young lady decided to seat us. She sat us near where her stand was and we awaited our server. We heard a debacle amongst our server and the hostess which went something like. "I sat you at 41". Our server replied by asking "41?" presumably because it was out of her section or she was busy with tables elsewhere. The hostess rudely replied back with," Did I stutter?". Now I no longer work it food service but I once did and trust me when I say the hostess has quite a more lax job than that of a server. There was no need to respond in such a rude manner, especially if the hostess was the one who made a mistake. Our server was very kind and respectful to us the rest of our service. But I couldn't help but notice the hostess constantly leaving her post and customers coming in and waiting for extended periods of time for her to show up. Overall food was good but for some reason I couldn't shake such an interaction. It did not turn me off from returning to this location, however I would be apprehensive if I saw this hostess working when we visited again. read more

Didn't have the same pics or items in menu compared to online. My to go order was under cooked & over charged. I tried to question the server, but she didn't listen. Fish & chips on menu. Have not been to a Red Lobster in 20 years and unlike other chains we haven't frequented for a long time, Red Lobster has not lost its stride in providing a good seafood value and a solid dining experience. The inside of the restaurant was older but did not seem dated, dirty or a has been atmosphere. The famous complimentary cheesy bread was better than we remembered. Our server was very prompt and friendly and this location was lively for an early Friday dinner. Our food was served just minutes after ordered and was good. We did notice just a fee gnats or fleas buzzing around our table and food - but they weren't around very long or overwhelming - but that is why this is not a 4 star. I decided to order the family meal to go. You can very easily order any meals on the website. They can even bring it out to your car. The family meal is a pretty good option and dare I say a decent value. There are many choices and each will feed four people. I ordered the grilled salmon. You also get plenty of the excellent cheddar biscuits and two sides. I ordered the fries and green beans. I also added on a dessert of chocolate cake and an appetizer of the chips and seafood artichoke cheese dip. All my items were ready to go on time and well packed. I got home and we ate a great meal that was all perfectly prepared. The salmon was grilled but had good seasoning. The fries were really good with sea salt. The green beans were tasty and well seasoned too. We loved the dip my only complaint there was it seemed to be rather small in the to go cup. I am still pretty full and am waiting to eat the cake. If you join the rewards club you can get points redeemable for dessert or appetizers. I got the appetizer for free. We went to Red Lobster to celebrate my husband's birthday and encountered the rudest employee I've ever had the misfortune of encountering at your Avon, Indiana location. Her name was Kristen (if I can believe that was her real name - description: longer blonde hair, overweight and tall) and apparently she was a waitress and not the hostess or manager, yet she was the one who tried to seat us when we walked in. There was no signage stating that masks were required and so my family of 3 walked in without wearing them. We saw two groups of people right before us who were seated by different hostesses and members of their parties were not wearing any masks, so we didn't think this would be an issue, but with Kristen, we were wrong. She proceeded to berate us for not wearing masks and refused to seat us without having one. We told her that we didn't have any with us and instead of offering us masks to wear, she told us that we needed to go to Target and purchase them and questioned us repeatedly about whether or not we really just had them in our car. We offered to put our faces in our shirts while she took us to our table and she told us no that they weren't masks and again, refused to seat us. She told us that they had to be official masks and then told us again to go to Target and buy some and asked me if I understood what she was telling us by asking in a very rude tone if we "Got it?" I have never been treated so rudely by anyone at a restaurant and would strongly suggest that this is not the type of employee that you have represent your establishment. We normally come to Red Lobster several times a month and I'm a platinum member and use your app repeatedly, but can assure you that after this experience with Kristen, I will NOT return and support your business again. During the pandemic, we have went out of our way to support our local businesses who have been hurting through these tough times, but will take our business elsewhere from here on out and will not be back to your restaurant. I have never been so humiliated and our night completely ruined by your unprofessional employee. By the way, as she was busy publicly and loudly berating us for not wearing masks and refusing to seat us, a different hostess sat yet another group of patrons, with several people in their group not wearing a mask either. We got there on a busy Saturday night. We were quoted about a 40 minute wait. With Target being right behind the restaurant, we decided to kill time there. We came back at 35 minutes just in case, and the hostess said we only had 2 tables to be sat ahead of us, so perfect quote time. Our server Kristin W greeted us within a minute. She was super friendly and helpful. We ordered drinks from the bar (berry sangria and bahama mama), the lobster artichoke dip as an app, two half orders of the lobster alfredo for entree, and 2 berry margaritas, for dessert :) Everything was delicious and we had wonderful service.
