Kind of made me worried about touching salt and pepper shakers. Food: Went breakfast recently. Had scrambled eggs and they were scorched. Eggs... the easiest thing on the menu to cook. And they serve bad tasting tap water. And the syrup bottle was so hit I literally could not touch it with my bare hands. Service: so so. I went to the Spring Hill location not too long ago. I had not been there for a few years. I arrived on a weekday, mid-morning, around 10:30 a.m. The hostess was nice. She indicated that I would have a 15 - 20 min wait. I thought that was a bit odd since there were many empty tables, but I was willing to wait. When I was seated, I was given a fork in a paper bag and a menu. I wondered right away where the napkin was, but I figured it would be brought with either my drink order or the food order. The waitress was nice. I ordered my drink and meal. She brought my drink within a few minutes of ordering, but without a napkin. As I looked around, I noticed that no one had napkins. I also noticed that they were VERY short-staffed as I saw the hostess running all over the place and only a couple of waitresses. The meal arrived around 35 minutes after the drink and still with no napkin. Before the waitress walked away, I asked her if I could please have a napkin. She checked on me to see if everything was ok. I asked her, what was up with the fork in paper bag and no napkins? She said she honestly didn't know. So, to Cracker Barrel Management, it is very evident that you are definitely running extremely lean, but I wasn't raised in a barn, and I like having utensils like a knife and a spoon along with my fork, as well as at least one napkin. Also, if you think you are saving money by not staffing appropriately, in the long run, you are losing because people like me will not be back due to the extremely long wait for sub-par food. We went to Cracker Barrel in Spring Hill. We wanted dumplings was told they have no dumpling. This was at 7pm this was not late and they had very few customer. So we ordered breakfast with coffee, waitress brought the coffee out and it was as cold as ice. We told the waitress and she said they would make fresh coffe. Ten minutes later they brought our food no coffee. We ate our meal and when we were done eating she brought the coffe. What kind of coffee maker takes 25 minutes to make coffe? read more

My boyfriend & I went here because we both used to go when we were younger. They sat us down, this was around 2pm. We weren't greeted at all, no drinks, nothing, for about 30 minutes. Then, we even saw people get sat after us, be served. We had servers pass by us multiple times, eventually we just left at 2:50. Very embarrassing, very unprofessional. read more

The worst service. We came in on a Sunday night and waited 45 minutes for a table. hardly anyone there to eat. Once we were seated, the waitress came to take our order while wearing an AirPod and we would ask for something and she would say "what?", was very rude. My plate didn't even have a full portion. My friend's food was hard like it had been sitting for awhile before it was brought to us. I've been coming to this location for years and it has really gone down. I was one of 4 other customers in the entire store, and waited for an order for near 40 minutes while the staff stood at the front talking and being completely useless. Haven't a clue, not a clue how to take care of their customers. Never offered a 2nd cup of coffee, had to ask for the biscuits (never came) that was supposedly part of our breakfast. Party of 4 adults and 1 child for Late lunch. We were seated immediately. The first at able we sat at was to small- but that graciously agreed to move us to a larger round table. The waitress was kind and quick. Upon request she brought us a plate full of biscuits and cornbread muffins- yum!! I ordered a bowl of pinto beans, a bowl of turnip greens- they were hot and delicious. The taste of both was perfect and the porttion was very generous. Members of our party oorder breakfast entrees from pancakes to eggs and bacon. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The restaurant was clean including the restrooms. read more

We've been to this location three times within the past two months. Each time we've had the same issue. It took over 20 minutes for a server to acknowledge us, then another 15-20 to even receive our drinks. It appears that each server we've had is new, however, there were a minimum of three managers present at the location today, so these issues should not be happening. I didn't receive my salad until after I was done with my entree. We've had the same problems at the Columbia location also. We may just get to-go from this point on. read more

The gift shop upon entering and exiting was filled with so many different sounds. I'm not really sensitive to sound. There were just so many random products making noise that it was very annoying. Wait time to be seated was almost immediate. But the wait time for our server to greet us took a while. When she did come over, she stood there but didn't acknowledge us she was busing yelling across the restaurant to other servers. I've never had that happen. If something needs to be discussed that fine. But maybe greet us first then say just a second. Or wait to walk right up to the table. Nothing on the menu looked overly appetizing to me. I got chicken and dumplings, my husband got breakfast. We waited a lengthy time to get our food. Longer than usual at any restaurant. Not sure about his food temps. But mine was warmish, upper warm to hot by any means. Almost no flavor. Our server didn't check back until we were about finished. I had to get up after waiting for her for a bit to go stand by the servers station to ask for honey for my biscuits. Which were cold. She wasn't unfriendly by any means, I don't want it to come across like she was terrible. Just unattentive and unprofessional I guess. It didn't seem overly busy I'm thevdining area for the amount of servers on the floor. I have zero interest in coming back. It's obvious anyone under 60 is not their target audience. Came with family during the morning hours for breakfast. Our server a younger girl took each of our orders and was really short conversation with us. We placed our drink order first she comes back with drinks and places them at the end of the table doesn't pass them out to anyone and leaves. The wait for our food was wayyy longer 30 min or so. When our food came again our server didn't pass anyone's plates out to anyone, we had to pass out our own plates to each other. My over-medium eggs were ice cold possibly from sitting out too long. Our waitress never brought out our grits. We had to flag down another waitress to ask for another order of eggs that weren't cold and for our order of grits. We never saw our waitress at any point she never came back to check on us or give us refills. She only came by with the drop off of the bill and even then still didn't say anything at all to us. I hardly know where to start. So let me begin with the wait for the meal. It was 40 minutes. I know that to be accurate because we were on a call in the parking lot. After we ordered we really had to wait that long. At check out the tip was computed on the total bill - including tax. I don't mind a tip for the meal, but really, are tipping on tax now? As I was waiting at front door for my ride the employees coming off shift were walking to their cars. They were parked in the front row. What happened to behind the store and out of the of customers way? I don't mind a bit of a walk but there are plenty of people who could benefit from being close. I like the food at Cracker Barrel and today was no exception. But it's just not worth the wait. I always like going to Cracker Barrel. If your here to check reviews, don't rely on these people who complain about waiting 5 minutes or the sounds of all the Christmas and Halloween decor. Come and see it for yourself and make your own decision. If you are not satisfied, tell your waitress. These are people and people make mistakes, people are tired of serving selfish people who want everything a certain way. Be understanding of hard working people who work and provide for their families. If you have a problem, go somewhere else. As your waiting a few minutes longer than expected, maybe put yourself in their shoes and be grateful you can even go out to eat. Besides, if you have ever been to any Cracker Barrel, there's always a long wait. Go enjoy the gift shop with all the sounds and let it put you in a holiday spirit because you need it. :) read more

Ordered to be delivered, the fried chicken salad. It had the chicken that was good, lettuce, a whole egg that had not been cut up and 2 very thick cucumber slices. Sure didn't have all the ingredients that were supposed to be on it. I also got the Coca-Cola cake, I get it every time I order from there. Restaraunt is half empty and a 30 minute wait to be seated, that should have been the red flag to go somewhere else... It took way too long to get our food, and we had no silverware. The server vanishes to get some and doesn't return. I go on a scavenger hunt for silverware and another server tries to help - but there are two spoons and a knife in all of our silverware sleeves. Food is now cold. Could not get refills on our drinks, lemon was clearly not an option this evening. The staff is made up of numerous high school kids or very early adults and not a real manager in sight - the very thing that closes every restaurant in Spring Hill - crappy service is the death spiral for any business. The bathroom was nasty, no paper towel in either dispenser, soap all over the counters, floor haven't been swept and mopped in a long time. A short survey of the dining area shows many tables that need to be bused but no one available to do it. This place just looks like a stinking dive. Temps were in the 30's outside and no fire in the fireplace. I used to enjoy eating at Cracker Barrel, not any longer... This review is all for Cracker Barrel's server, Emma Sky. I visited a Cracker Barrel for the first time today, for lunch. They were quite busy, as you would expect on a Sunday afternoon. Luckily, my mother and I sat in Emma Sky's section. (Their are 4 girls named Emma, so I was sure to get her full name.) I had visited the store before and only as of this year, but never to eat. Despite their overall rating of only 2 stars, I wanted to try something new. From beginning to end, our experience would have been disheveled, except for our exceptional server, Emma Sky. She was attentive and despite, the slowness of the kitchen (I assume they're understaffed), she made sure that us and all of her guests had everything they wanted, or at least suggested an enticing alternative to several of the food items the restaurant had already ran out of. When our food did finally emerge, it was delicious but if it weren't for her, this would be another 2 star review. I left her a 50% tip with a note, thanking her for her service. I could see that she was working hard and if anyone complained, it was the fault of others. I hope her manager sees this review and gives her a raise, promotion and/or at least an, "atta girl." read more

Waited 10-15 minutes at the table before they even got our drink order. Then no straws, so had to wait another 5-10 min for those. Please hire more servers! To her credit, our server was very nice and apologetic. Food is good here, as is any cracker barrel in my experience. They tend to be light on the meat portions and heavy on the vegetables however. I'm sure that makes it healthier, but I like my meat! Had the ham breakfast skillet today for $8 and it was a solid effort. Side note: Cracker barrel makes the best pancakes in the world in my opinion. A million miles better than ihop. I give it 3 stars because the food is good while the service is a bit subpar. read more

First the waitress forgot to place our order and three tables that came in after us got there food and were done eating and we still didn't have our food. The waitress said "sorry I'm feeling overwhelmed" REALLY!!! There was a regular crowd. Not busy by any stretch. Then my wife's eggs were like concrete and hers and one of my daughter's hash browns were made wrong. They ordered hash browns with grilled onions not the hash brown casserole and what did they get? You guessed it, hash brown casserole. My wife's pancakes were dry and heavy not the usual light and moist. The manager came by and said he'll take some off...$5. REALLY!!! I guess we're done with Cracker Barrel. I'll make sure to warn my shipmates because this is not the only Cracker Barrel we've had issues with. read more

Believe the reviews. They're earning both those stars and then some. Ordered a to-go pickup with a ready time of 6:37. Time is more 7:07 and still haven't got my food. If it weren't already paid for, I'd just walk out and hit Moe's or Fulin's. All the while the counter people are joking with the Doordash pick-up people. These people could care less. Just got the country fried steak, which is what I get half the time I visit a Cracker Barrel (maybe 2-3 times a year). They've significantly downsized the meat serving (by half or more) and the quality of the "new" version is much worse than the old standby was as well. The price is still about $12 though, for what amounts to high school cafeteria quality food. No more Cracker Barrel for us. read more

I ordered the new Chicken Pot Pie and it is supposed to have a flakey crust with creamy chicken, carrots, peas and potatoes. Instead I received a dry crust, 2 small chunks of chicken, I didn't see or taste any carrots, 2 small potato chunks. It tasted like pea soup. I could not finish it because there was a long hair in it. Cook your own food! At the least don't order this awful pie! It tasted like it actually looks! read more

The service is always friendly the food is always hot and the atmosphere is always cheerful. I love their pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns casserole, and their biscuits and gravy. A couple of things to avoid just due to the price is there orange juice it's three dollars a glass the same price as an entire half gallon, and their hashbrowns casserole is also three dollars to me they're a bit overpriced.... read more

This was our first time to this location and what horrible service! My family and I sat all the way in the furthest section for about 10 minutes and no one ever came to the table. I got up and walked toward a group of employees by the kitchen. The manager, AJ, said that he would find someone to come to our table. I never heard a sorry or anything from him. We waited at the table about another 4 minutes and no one ever came, so we got our stuff and left. While I was walking toward the exit the manager made eye contact with us the whole time and never did anything. I contacted the store through the website I never heard anything. The next two times the biscuits were burned. We sent them back and they returned with biscuits even blacker. The fact that they saw no problem was almost comical.
