I paid $20 for a plate of slop. The food was horrendous. Omg I had their Thanksgiving dinner and the sweet potato pie was soup plus there's no pecans or brown sugar on top or even in the now soup...it actually tasted just like orange juice too. I think they were running out of that side so they added orange juice to extend the serving amounts or something. The Turkey dressing super bad. Tasted like a bunch of herbs that were overpowering couldn't taste the dressing at all. The Turkey was 2 thin slivers with mainly Turkey skin that couldn't be eaten. The only thing that was good was the cranberry sauce and it was canned but it was 3 bits and it was gone. Get you some new cooks that care or get a better assembly line with better recipes and what's served matches what was being offered. read more

Oh Cracker Barrel, how I love your home cooked meals. The pricing has greatly increased in 2024. Some items have increased by five or six dollars. $24 for rainbow trout and a drink was a little steep. I was surprised to get to pieces of trout. But if I'm going to pay almost $30 with the tip, I'm going for something more than Cracker Barrel. The service was good. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. No complaints on the ambience. This is something Cracker Barrel has mastered. Their gift shop is full of treasures and goodies. You can always find something you need....want. LOVE FRANK!! Best service I have ever received by a waiter! Frank is such a nice guy and a hard worker it's amazing to see him work. For limited workers frank helped us as much as possible. Went here tonight. Seated quickly and received drink orders quickly. Three in our group and we all placed our orders. Restaurant was not that busy. We waited just short of an hour for part of our order. I asked the waitress what was taking so long and she said "I really don't know, we're not that busy". She left part of our food and it was another 15 minutes before she brought out the rest of the meals. When I went to pay, I asked, who appeared to be the manager why it took so long to get our food order and we were not pleased with the long wait. Her snooty response "we don't control the kitchen help". No other response. When we are in the area again, we will NOT stop here for a meal. read more

I was severely disappointed by experiences tonight. Table of five, but sat at a table for four people, had to pull up a chair. Waitress did not know the menu and questioned the orders multiple times. Hot chocolate machine was broken. Decaf coffee full of coffee grounds. Zero napkins given to us or on the table. Sat at the table for over an hour and no food came out. People at the table next to us told me to be glad I got a salad and that their food was just as cold as my salad. Food came out lukewarm at best after an hour and 15 minutes of waiting. Two sides missing from one meal and toast missing from another. Forgot to bring out coffee for 30 minutes. Never got the condiments we asked. The entire time there was a man sitting at the table behind us, who must have been a co worker or boyfriend of the waitress, and the waitress was eating off of his plate. Had a family gathering for Mother's Day. Plenty of parking for Handicap accessible patrons. On arrival seated at comfortable table and chairs which was new for Location. Server was Named Haley, she was friendly and served everyone with a smile. She kept are drinks filled and handled any requests. Food was hot and to order. Went in Saturday about 215, took them 30 minutes to cook two simple breakfasts, one was steak tips without garlic butter. When the plate came out, it was swimming in garlic butter. I repeated it twice when I ordered I did not want the garlic butter because I cannot eat the large amount of garlic due to dietary restrictions. I asked them to remake the items, including the other two items on the plate. 30 seconds later he had the same food on a new plate. Dietary restrictions don't mean change the plate. Seriously. Three managers sat in the corner having their meeting without offering any help until we spoke up. Left without eating because they just didn't get it. read more

I came in and ordered pecan pancakes. Waitress said I'll place your order pancakes to go. I said I ordered pecan and she said yes I know. After 25 minutes nothing. Waitress said they made regular pancakes give me 2 minutes. Nope. While I was trying to get a refund the Manager came with my order. I do t want it but I paid. We just had lunch here earlier and everything was wonderful. They were on a 20 minute wait because they were still limiting seating. They have these new loaded tater tots made from their hash browns which were delicious. We got the Homestyle chicken (used to be called Sunday Chicken) and the meatloaf. Both hot fresh and delicious. The biscuits and cornbread were good. I love their biscuits with strawberry jam. First time we have dined inside there in over a year due to the pandemic. Was good to be back. The hostess who seated us was indifferent and seemed as if she wanted to be anywhere but there. They now serve beer and wine which was a shock to me. read more

This locations was just so so. The food was what u would expect and had a lot of breakfast options. The biggest downfall seems to be the service, was extremely slow, kept us waiting, never got any refills, wasn't friendly or seem helpful and had to ask for stuff more than once. Usually these places are great but this one seems to really be lacking in customer experience unfortunately. Waited 15 minutes to be addressed by a waiter then 45 minutes for our food to come disgustingly cold & missing our appetizer. When we spoke to the manager, he said we can take it back and warm it up but the kitchen is backed up... we decided it wasn't worth the wait and said to cancel the app and just give us to go boxes. The manager then returned with a receipt and said "we comped the appetizer, no problem" like he was doing us a favor when we didn't even get the appetizer! Usually the food is good, but I ate at the Lafayette,IN Cracker Barrel this evening(5/30/24) and the food in some cases was awful! Hashbrown casserole was under cooked(fairly raw potatoes) --- another person in my party had the Chicken Fried Steak which tasted again awful --- also the turkey and dressing was too salty and the portion was very unappealing to look at - small tiny bits of turkey! I've been going to this cracker barrel since I was a child and worked there from 16-17. I used to ask to go to cracker barrel for my birthday. I now go about every 2-4 months to grab some of my old favorites and see if they have improved. The quality has become close to something you "just add hot water" to. I think craft mac and cheese is better then what I just ate. The mash potatoes are close to the worst I've ever had. Its sad to see how corporate cracker barrel has become. I have had some bad experiences in the last few months from cracker barrel, so I must share this tremendously pleasurable experience I had at cracker barrel of Whitestown IN. The server, I think Niki, was on it like a professional; she was caring, kind, and accommodating. I was tremendously hungry and wanted a little bit of everything, and she got it, no questions asked. I drink A LOT of water, and my glass never was empty more than just a few minutes before it was filled. The food was outstanding and rekindled my love of cracker barrel. The staff here has definitely strengthened my faith and love of these nostalgic, iconic, and beloved restaurants. I had been to Cracker Barrel a couple of times and always had good meals. We were driving from Nashville to Chicago and were happy to find this and stop here. One unique thing about Cracker Barrel's is that you walk into a shop and pay at cashier that encourages you to buy some items--but it is a pretty nice shop with some interesting selections. Service is always very friendly. We were there about 11am which meant we could have eaten off of the breakfast or lunch menus, but I always like the breakfast items. I had the country fried breakfast with chicken fried steak. My favorite parts were the steak which was really good with really tasty gravy and biscuits which were incredible. Waitress was nice and food was consistent with other CB's. Unfortunately the cashier was very very rude. An older lady that was training a young man. Date is 8/6/24 at around 7:30pm. She disappeared from the register as I walked up to pay, a long line soon gathered. She was gone for a long time. When she came back with the other trainee cashier, I asked her if I could ring up, she was very rude and condescending. When I asked how to skip the screen that asked me how far away I loved again she was very rude and rolled her eyes at me and tried to make me feel dumb. I remarked that it was strange to have to answer a question to pay and she rudely replied that it wasn't weird and laughed at me. I was a bit taken aback again by her outrightly rudeness. I said, well it seemed strange to me, and she said whatever and laughed at me again. I paid and left a 20% tip for our server. As I left she was making fun of me and complaining about me to the next customer in line. I've never felt compelled to write a review like this but this really pushed me over the edge. She had 4 stars on her apron which told me she isn't new. I travel around the country and frequent CB's all the time. Our last few trips to Cracker Barrel have been most enjoyable and consistent in its quality and friendly staff. We usually come for breakfast and enjoy the eggs, hashbrown casserole, pancakes, sausage etc. Also like the healthy options for lunch as well. The grilled chicken with greens & broccoli for example. Caveat emptor( buyer beware) do not stop at this restaurant in Whitestown Indiana.... Keep driving ! My self and a friend stopped by this establishment during a recent road trip and experienced the worst costumer service that we have ever experienced in life. After requesting a table for two, we stepped to the side of the hostess stand to allow the hostess to locate a table. Another party of two immediately followed our request and was offered a seat right away. After witnessing this obvious discrimination we walked out of Cracker Barrel immediately in shock. While sitting in the parking lot trying to digest what we just experienced, we decided that the hostess disturbing action should not go unnoticed. We decided to call and speak with the store manager. After explaining to Dave our inhumane treatment, we offered to enter back into the restaurant to ensure the correct hostess actions would be reprimanded. The manager explained that it was no need to help him identify the employee. When asked for Cracker Barrel's corporate contact information and his name, he abruptly hung up the phone without providing the requested information. There after we re-entered the restaurant to speak with the manager who rudely hung up the phone in our faces. Dave, the rude manager met us at the hostess stand and denied hanging up the phone and accused us of yelling at him. Two hostess witnessed the conversation, clearly we were not yelling at this man. Dave was uncomfortable with being confronted with the truth and being called out on his delusional and incompetent interpersonal skills.
