Waited forever for a spinach salad with grilled grouper. It was supposed to have grilled mushrooms and I asked for a side of thousand island dressing. It was around 9p by the time we got to Crackers. The ambiance was good, they had Christmas music playing and was decorated for Christmas. The restaurant was very clean also. Our waitress was a nice, polite young lady. She did an excellent job. Now let's talk about the food, I had a hamburger, fries, and slaw. The hamburger was hard on the out side but it was ok, I did eat most of it. The slaw was sweet and had celery in it which I didn't like but I'm sure a lot of people like it. Now my husband had fried grouper and fried gator. The fried gator was kind of tough, which is over cooked but he did eat some of it. The salad was good and the baked potato was good. Now let's talk about the grouper, it had sooooooooo much of a fish smell when you ate it that one bite and my husband was done. You could smell it and it was so strong that it made your stomach turn. After eating one bite of the grouper he didn't eat anything else. Yes yes we understand that it's fish but let me say we have had grouper at other places and it wasn't fishy at all and was great. Will we go back and spend $60 again (including tip) NO we will not because neither of us feel like the food was great or for that matter even good. What a terrible experience we had last night at Cracker Bar and Grill. We have been her several times and it has been nice. Last night it was a beautiful sunny day and we sat outside to eat. Perfect setting. The problem was the service was terrible and it got worse as the dinner progressed. You should not have to walk through the restaurant looking for your server to find out where your drink and food order is, and let alone not able to find your server. And not only that when we finally got the bill and looked over the receipt we gave of server our credit card, when it was returned to us both our bill and our friends bill was higher than what we had originally. What a scam, not sure if it was the server or the establishment skimming. Sorry to say we are never going back. read more

The view was very pretty, the bar was hopping with friendly service and great music. The coconut shrimp is yummy! Honestly incredibly dissatisfying. Went there in search of a good lunch. Was met with forgetful staff who went to look for a table for us and forgot to return. Our waitress was amazing. Once our food came out the scallops were disgusting. The gator bites had no flavor and were almost as chewy as the scallops were. If you want to drink by the water this place is great but if you want to eat I recommend stopping by a McDonald's on your way. They forgot to bring my sides as well and I didn't get them until walking out and asking for them to go. read more

Great bar scene. The outdoor patio out back has a tiki bar with awesome drinks, as well as live music. Not to mention it is absolutely beautiful looking over kings bay. The food was off the chain! My party order many apps and many meals, the apps were brought quickly and tasted amazing! Our meals came at a reasonable time and the main courses were very good! We were not able to be seated outside so we grabbed a seat at the bar. We were served right away. We split the grouper fingers and a spinach salad with shrimp. The fish was white, light and delicious. The spinach was fresh, crisp and delicious. The shrimp was blackened and were very flavorful. The hot dressing was the perfect temperature and the right balance for the salad. The bartender was efficient and attentive. I don't like giving out one star ratings but here we are. The crab stuffed mushroom had very little amount of crab in them and the batter had almost no flavor at all. The broccoli was served cold as well as the hush puppies. The worst part was the scallops. They were cooked wet so they were basically steamed and the blackening seasoning, if that's what it was, was garbage. I'm really disappointed that a restaurant in a scallop harvesting town didn't dry the scallops prior to cooking. Tasted like they were microwaved. Do better. read more

What a great place for dinner! The setting is cozy and nautical (with a bit of Michigan thrown in) with a great view. We ordered the combo platter (grilled) and were pleasantly surprised by the amount of food! And cooked to perfection! And the service was exceptional, making us feel important. Cracker's ambiance is phenomenal, with an open-air bar and large outdoor dining area overlooking the water. They were playing country beach/boat music making it lively and fun. The staff, including our server, Matthew, was very friendly and attentive. Our only complaint was that the menu had nearly no healthy options. I know it's stereotypical to offer fried seafood and cheap comfort foods, but with a little effort a menu can be made more healthy. I tried the zucchini fries, which were described on the menu as lightly breaded, but in fact when I broke them in half they looked like breading straws. This was Our first visit to Crackers. It was recommended by friends Mid lunch on a Tuesday - fairly busy but we're seated quickly. Waitress Cici was very friendly and knew the specials in detail. I opted for fish tacos and hubby had the soft shell crab po boy special. Also appetizer of fried cheese curds which were plentiful and hot. The food was very good although the time between appetizer and entree was longer than usual. We sat indoors as it was over 90 outside with no breeze. Wow, I guess your mileage may vary when it comes to this place. I guess I got here at a good time. I ordered alligator bites and a blackened grouper melt. Everything was outstanding. My wife ordered fried grouper and it was absolutely fabulous. My sister-in-law eats here all the time and she loves it. All of the wait staff seemed friendly and the people behind the counter were friendly as well. Bought two T-shirts for the road. Logically the people working when we arrived can't be there 24 hours a day and seven days a week, so I guess you can take my comments with a grain of salt considering this place got less than three stars overall. Had a wonderful Mother's Day at Crackers. Even though we sat inside still had a beautiful view of the water. Service was prompt and friendly. Fried green tomatoes were delicious. My wife and I have eaten at Crackers several times in the last 8 years we have lived here and have been satisfied. The view of King bay is great. Unfortunately the view is the only thing that's great about Crackers. We just had a late lunch there today and both ordered a blackened mahi fish sandwich. The fish was a very small portion and it was grilled and not blackened. It was tasteless with a lot of bun and very little fish. When we got our bill we were charged for grouper. when we told the server we ordered mahi not grouper she said she wrote down grouper. We told her not to worry about it and paid the bill. We were very disappointed and probably never eat there again. read more

We decided to have dinner at Cracker's because we read some good reviews. Other than their wings being crispy (decent sauce), we were not impressed at all. Blackened grouper was not fully cooked. It seemed frozen. Not impressed with the zucchini fries either. Grilled redfish was dry - I fixed it lemon! The restaurant is on the water. Nice location, live music great. The restaurant was next to our hotel so after a day of driving it was an easy choice. We sat on the back patio and enjoyed the view. Service was prompt, food arrived in a timely fashion and as ordered. Had a drink from the bar, pineapple based don't recall the name... it was ok but not very much kick to it.
