I went to Cracklin Jack's with my granddaughter and young friend. I was looking forward to it. The place looks nice inside. We were seated fast. Once we got the menu we were disappointed. I'd say 95% of the item are fried. Only 1 salad that would be considered a meal. No healthy choices at all. We got the fried chicken. The skin was dark which meant hey don't filter the oil enough orit hasn't been changed in awhile. The mashed potatoes could of been instant but I hope not and the coklardshad NO flavor. We were very disappointed. My granddaughter got a kids meal fries and 2 chk tenders 11.00. A decent place to stop and get a taste of different local dishes. The gator nuggets are a must try. The service is friendly. We had a large party and ordered the many different dishes including fired green tomatoes, fried okra, cajun shrimp, scallops, and the pulled pork and brisket. I just hate to unleash the secrets, but here goes: $2 domestic drafts, $2.75 wells, $3 house wines. There. *washes hands* Now, for the food. I hear the bbq is great, but I went the seafood route. We first ordered a generous portion of fried green tomatoes. They were super tasty. The green tomatoes had a nice tart taste to balance the batter and ranch sauce. The batter tasted great, but I thought the tomatoes could be cut a bit thicker or the batter down a little bit more. Needless to say, they were a nice introduction to some more good food. We then ordered our respective seafood baskets of glory. You can get a Pick Two for $13.99 or a Pick Three for $16.99. It also comes with fries, coleslaw and a hushpuppy. What?? I know. Redonkulous. I ordered fried oysters and frog legs. It was a massive generous portion of everything fried with its midas touch. You also have a chance to make every bite a new one by elevating the flavor with a cocktail sauce, mustard sauce, and a butter sauce. They all go well with everything, so you can imagine every permutation of batter/meat/sauce. I can tell you that we enjoyed our meal, but wasn't prepared for all the fried food. This place was better than I expected, maybe a 3.5 out of 5. Before I ever stepped foot in this place I envisioned a camo wearin truck-nuts kind of hang out. I was wrong. Cracklin Jack's definitely has more of a Southern, family/ home style vibe going on than I anticipated. Generous prime rib cooked perfectly, tasty fried chicken dinners, huge sweet shrimp fried with hush puppies and clams, Southern style sides or 'vittles'...oh wow! My only regret is I ordered fries as my side instead of mashed potatoes. They even serve frog legs and gator...don't come here expecting to eat healthy. Service can be lackadaisical. Don't drive by...find this place almost right at the intersection of Golden Gate prkwy and 951. Very strange location. They even have outside seating available for those nice (few) cool days we have in Naples. read more

It's a family style restaurant with fish, ribs, vittles place...large portions, served family style sides, corn muffins and sweet tea..I had a combo baby back ribs and brisket both good sides greens and cold slaw really good. Nice interior they have recently moved to new larger location 4 miles north of original location.. Fried catfish is their specialty, fried chicken, fresh grouper, but you also get grilled items. Everything seems to be made fresh on site they also have a meat smoker... Tammy was my waitress she was great you can tell she enjoys her job... Our server was not trained on their point-of-sale device (having been there less than a week) but did quite well and attended to our group of four. Worth the 18 mile trip off Marco Island for dinner. We were looking for Fried Chicken and wings and found it plus great southern style foods. I had a house salad and mild wings. Salad was well adorned with tomatoes, bacon, egg, cheese plus a good variety of healthy greens. Price in line with others. Wings were huge. With the combo dinner I was not able to finish half my wings and got the take out box for the rest. No one in my party if 5 has any complaints. Server brought out coke slaw,muffins, pickles, and butter prior to ordering. Very good. Prices in menu seemed in line with other restaurants in the area. Atmosphere of restaurant was very quiet in dining room. Appeared to be another bar like room in back with a door which was a little louder when the door was opened. This is place is a treasure! We arrived late one night (for Naples, 8:15 p.m. is late) and were delighted with the food and service. They have a great laid back atmosphere, the tiki bar in back is impressive, good social distancing, and there's plenty of parking. Good restaurant, however, you really need to like fried food. Frog legs and alligator bites were really good.

Probably just server arrogance or server failure but our experience there was poorer than anywhere in Naples. To deliver wrong entree and claim it was the fault of the kitchen, and not replace it with the correct item, is inexcusable in this day of trying to recover from Covid. Great local spot! We are outside on the patio. Country music played and we ate really good food. I had the fried shrimp and BBQ spare ribs combo. First time visit. 1. The most distressing was seeing so many staff waiting on customers with NO MASK on . Some staff were in and out of the dinning room from what appeared to be the outer bar/seating area. (we should have left but didn't. ) our waitress Kesha(?sp.) was very pleasant, attentive and efficient. SHE did wear a mask the entire time and when asked to cover up , as mask Seemed to slip below her nose all the time, she did so without issue. 2. My two 10 yr old boys had chicken tenders and shrimp and really liked them. Spouse had grouper which was excellent, us other two guys had half rack of meaty ribs. They weren't as Smokey in flavor as I was expecting (Texas Toneys were better). They were very meaty but dryer than I think they should have been(we were there on Sunday at 6PM). I really do not like doing reviews like this. Every restaurant can have an off night but this was really bad from beginning to end. We started out with two waitresses but after we got our drinks, we were overlooked for 15 minutes. As for the food? One meal was lost but it was the only one that didn't come out cold. My spare rib and brisket combo was strange. the brisket was thin sliced and seems have been boiled, not smoked. The spare ribs were big, but other than being charred had no flavored. The bbq sauce on the side was a nice touch, but since most of the other sauces at the table were frozen in the center, I didn't try it. None of it was what I would call real bbq. The vittles were okay - the white beans and greens were good - but the others like potatoes and carrots were cold. The corn muffins were sent back - two of our party thought they tasted rancid. But the other entrees - tough clam strips, cold shrimp, mixed up orders, and a wait staff that was overworked but not really engaged either - yeah, not good. My family that lives here in Naples was embarrassed and won't be going back. Sadly, it was one of the worst meals and service I have had in several years. read more
