I love this location and building. Such beautiful design and roof top views of downtown Roanoke. The service is amazing and very friendly + quick. Their drink list is extensive and their food is quiet good. We ordered their tempura deviled eggs (meh, not really any flavor) and split their burger with garlic aioli and bacon jam (AMAZING - MUST GET THIS) with truffle fries. I am so impressed with this burger! I've eaten here a few times before and I think their food is hit or miss. Sometimes it's out of the park amazing and then sometimes it's simple and not really as fancy as the price calls for. Either way, great location to meet, dine and enjoy such a lovely space. My burger was disgusting! It was like biting into a rubber tire. Not to mention prior to dinner we had a drink and the bartenders have no clue how to make a drink! Sooo much potential for this restaurant that failed to live up to the prices it charges. Really extensive beer selection and a good drink menu beyond the beer. But...had issues with both wait staff, accuracy of order and quality of food. First...wait staff was relatively slow in coming to table and checking in on us throughout the evening. Even got to point where some in our party exclaimed how thirsty we were as our water was empty and felt like we'd been forgotten. Second...waitress messed up our drink order on two separate occasions. I hate to complain about this as it meant we ended up with a couple of free drinks, but they were not what we had ordered and were pretty basic mistakes for a waitress to make at an establishment that is attempting to be of a certain quality. Lastly...I ordered the rib-eye medium and it came out incredibly rare. I'm not one that will normally send something back to the kitchen, but it was so under-cooked, I just couldn't accept it. In addition, I actually had to ask for a steak knife to be brought to me as well. This restaurant has a great location, great ambience...but is severely lacking in service and quality of food. Craft & Vine is a very cool and well decorated restaurant and taproom on the third floor. Décor is chic and you will be impressed by all of the beers and wines on tap at the wooden taps. There are small circle tables that seat 2 people comfortably but they allow you to move the furniture around to accommodate somewhat larger groups. Parties greater than 6 can sit at the oversized rectangle tables. It's a great ambiance for a casual birthday party with a big crowd or even a low key date night. There's great potential for the view once the buildings around are finished. You can tell that this area is expanding with lots of ongoing construction nearby. I ordered a fruity beer and even got complimentary samples of some of their wines. Food was excellent all around. I ordered the custom flight which comes with your choice of slider, soup of the day, and house salad or Caesar salad. The house salad was filling and had a savory dressing. Came here for Sunday brunch after church. The ambience is spot on.... Gorgeous! The food could use some work. The water was room temp, We ordered our food: hubby ordered a side of breakfast potatoes with his breakfast. I asked what came with my sandwich and was told breakfast potatoes. About 10 minutes after we ordered, the waitress came by and said they were out of breakfast potatoes and would fries be ok? Sure no problem. Literally less than a minute later she brought the food. We both ended up with an odd mix of breakfast potatoes (very few) and fries. The physical plates came out hot but hubby's pancakes and the potato /fry combo were cold. We had to ask for salt, pepper, ketchup. Pancakes came w no butter either and the syrup was super overpowered with rosemary. This place has a ton of potential... a ton! Maybe dinner is better but brunch is a no. Waitress was nice just missed the lack of obvious condiments. The extra place settings at our table weren't taken away at the beginning of the service which made the small table a bit crowded. We may try it again at night to see if the attention to detail and food quality are any better. read more

We went last night, which happened to be our anniversary. We were pleasantly surprised with the difference, in service, timing, and food quality. Came here with a group of 6 for Sunday brunch and was taken aback by the service at first. My group had reservations and the lady at the front wasn't very pleasant. The restaurant seemed to be pretty spacious, but the tables aren't fit for groups larger than 4 (unless you are fine sitting at a high top table). Our waiter, I believe his name was Darwin, was incredible. He was the reason I changed my mind about my original, poor view of the service. We ordered the tempura deviled eggs and pork potstickers for appetizers to share, and I ordered the chicken and waffles and tried the brisket hash dish. I've never tried a deep fried egg and was very pleased with the taste of it. Also, the potstickers were good but they only give you 4 of them for $8 which are way overpriced. The chicken from the chicken and waffles was amazing. The batter was hot and crispy, and the meat was juicy and tender. I also tried a bite of the brisket hash and it was delicious. It came with a biscuit and gravy which was awesome. Overall, I'd recommend coming this spot if you're in a small group. read more

This is perhaps the best restaurant in the Roanoke area, which bills itself as the "unique dining capital of Texas". Certainly the experience is much more upscale than others, with the exception of Classic Cafe on the other end of the street. C&V is the perfect after-work, after-a-movie or after-a-dinner place, with plenty of spaces both large and cozy. For the few times in Texas when you would want to sit next to a fire, they have a fireplace and couches. It was an energetic crowd on the Saturday night when we visited before a movie. The drink list is creative and well-priced. As to be expected with their name, there were several wines we knew and loved as well as lots of craft beers (and ciders). My wife had a smoked caramel martini that she claims changed her life! This is not to say that the food wasn't as good as the drinks and the atmosphere. We tried a combination of dishes from different parts of the menu. I can recommend the smoked chicken wings - however be aware of their spice. The meatball were yummy. We loved the gyozas. This place is so adorable, cozy and lively! Tons of beer and wine on tap and I love the ambiance! Great location in Roanoke next to other fun nightlife places. We were a group of 6 and had made a reservation in advance. We started our evening with sushi and oysters which were very fresh and delicious! Then we each had a salad and shared the hummus trio. Love the pita bread that comes with the trio. Our waitress was amazing and made sure we got our drinks on time and we didn't feel rushed at all even though the restaurant was busy. Our main entrees were also so good and cooked perfectly. It was my birthday dinner celebration so we got a free dessert! This restaurant is lovely. The waitstaff is well trained and provided a fine dining experience in a more casual environment. Although it was slightly loud, it makes up for the noise, with the view, service and food. I had the beef bourguignon. It melted in my mouth. The two others at my table ate it too (off my plate). We could not get enough of the sauce. Before the meal we had the lumpia and the meatball which were also both fantastic.
