Wasn't busy the night I stopped in but it made for a chill evening. I can only imagine how loud this place gets on a busy day. Lots of drinks and drafts to choose from with almost all being local options. The one thing I will say this place could benefit from is the QR codes for menus. I think the whole food hall could benefit from it, but especially so in this small bar area.

The Craft Collective is such a cool spot. We were looking for a place to meet up with a friend while we were visiting the Cleveland area and The Van Allen District and Craft Collective came up. We were a bit bummed after walking in, because all the businesses look so cool, but many closed earlier. We were still happy to enjoy some cold beers at Craft Collective and on its own, it's a great experience. They have indoor and outdoor seating and serve a great variety of beers on tap, they also have wine, alcoholic slushies and cocktails available. We opted to sit inside at the longer tables and hung out until close. We each tried a couple beers and they were delicious. The bartender was really nice and answered all our questions. Next time we visit we'll have to come earlier to check out more of the businesses and try some more beers.

The staff here is pretty seasoned and helpful when asking about beer and drinks. This is appreciated as not all bar tenders in CLE are at this level. They have music going and the cavs game playing on the 1 TV, when it's on. You are able to order food from the market hall and bring it in to eat with out an extra charge, This is a great dog friendly spot to bring a date, co workers or family to hang out. They often have good events going on. They allow kids 14+ as long as they are with an adult. They have good parking outside and outdoor seating. The best things about this place is the rotating taps they have. You can ALWAYS try something new.

A nice collection of local beers inside the food hall at Van Aken! Bar tender was super friendly and they have a few tables to sit and mingle. You can go to some of the other stands to order food and bring it back - definitely worth a stop by! All local (Ohio) restaurants!

A nice brewery/bar in van aken. Beers are all local and decently priced. They have a few wines ans a cocktail menu as well. They have a good amount of seating inside And their own patio area, whcih can get crowded pretty quickly. Be sure to ask for a DORA cup so you can walk around or sit elsewhere in the market hall! I tried the sea glider, which was delicious but probably not worth it for the amount vs price. Next time, would stick with a beer or cider! Staff is friendly and is helpful if you need help deciding on anything

Wonderful Vibe, setting, and interesting drink lineup. Disappointing that you can't sample the numerous drafts but you can purchase small pours to build a partial or full flight and then go from there. The entire market area is great inside and out and makes for a relaxed yet trendy spot for a snack or meal. I tried a dark lager and loved it - perfect Oktoberfest type of beer. I appreciated that I didn't have to get a single use plastic cup to go outside, baring that I stayed within the limits of the bars outdoor seating vs the rest of the venue. The other shopping and food adjacent to this watering hole makes this a win. Being dog friendly outside makes it even better! Can't wait to return!

I am a huge fan of Bottlehouse, so I was happy to hear that they had a side project opening in the Van Aken Shopping District. The shopping district itself has a number of food places and shops that I am excited to check out! Craft Collective has a similar ambiance as Bottlehouse (I've only been to the one on Lee Road, so I'm referencing that location), with the long tables with benches and the limited seating at the bar. I've always enjoyed their ciders and meads (all the sweeter things), but have been branching out to taste some of the other drinks on the menu - they offer flights, for those of you who like trying different ones without committing. They have a great range of different types of drinks, so whether you have a preference on a specific type of drink (i.e. something sweet), you'll be able to find it among their own brewed beers or from their guest list. They have a list of the meads, which I would highly recommend if you have not had mead before - caution that they are very sweet and have a high ABV, in case you drove. *Always just look at the menu on the wall to order, it is the most up-to-date rather than looking at their paper menus. Just like Bottlehouse, you are able to bring your own food in. But the best part about being a part of the Market Hall, is that you have all these food options to choose from right next to Craft Collective! Although Craft Collective is open later than most of the shops, you can get some grub if you arrive before 10 PM or so on most days. They have the tv behind the bar, so this could be a meet up for a more low key watch party. It can get pretty noisy if it is busy (or very quiet on the other hand) but if you wanted a more intimate setting, sitting at the bar is always a good choice. It is also a great location for larger groups, if you can snag a table. People are usually friendly, so sharing tables isn't the end of the world either. Other: Bathrooms are towards the back, to the right of the bar. The Shopping District has plenty of free parking available. Mitchell's is just across the road from Craft Collective too!!

I have frequented Craft Collective since they opened. Love everyone on the staff, the decor, and the selection! As an added bonus, they're the only establishment in the Van Aken District that doesn't allow children, which is refreshing!

This place has a drink for everyone. Between the variety of beers, cocktails, wine, and ciders, rest assured you'll find a drink for you. Craft Collective has a large garage door that they open on nice days to their dog-friendly outdoor patio. Grab food from one of the food places in Market Hall and then get your beer (or some eateries will actually deliver right to you). I can't wait to head back!

They don't offer any food, but you are able to bring food in from the surrounding food places inside market hall.

While I went on the run, my husband and kids enjoyed Voodoo's music bingo, they had a blast! The brewery had a great family-friendly vibe, lively atmosphere, and solid beer lineup. I joined them afterward, and decided to stay for a bit before going back next door...my daughter won bingo, earning us a $10 gift card (huge excitement for her). I tried a few of the IPAs and rated them 4/5 stars--good flavor, and they stood out compared to other Ohio beers I sampled during the week. Overall, top-notch place. I also loved their book ticket method for drinks--it kept things easy and fun--and the dive-bar vibe paired with the local ambiance made it feel like a true community spot. If I were local, this would absolutely be a go-to spot, especially paired with a post-run visit.

The pork belly and Brussels app would be so much better with a creamy sauce but still was good with the tart balsamic. The Brussels were perfectly crispy even though there were only 5 total pieces of small pork belly in the whole app. It was $10. It is very dark in the place on its own. Order at counter and pick up your food to sit where you want. Trivia on Wednesdays. The pulled pork meal was decent for $12. Fries were incredibly salty but perfectly sized to grab multiple at a time with a fork for easy mouth shoving. Pulled pork was kinda tough. The jalapeño slaw below the pork was peppery perfection! No dessert options.

What sets Parnell's aside from other Irish pubs is that it's pretty classy and sophisticated with dim lighting, nice ambiance, Irish charm, and well curated drink menu with more than just beer. By the way, the beer is really good too! I've been to Parnell's for a wide range of occasions - book club, date nights, and even Irish New Year! All very memorable and pleasant experiences! Parnell's is a cozy bar with limited seating including the bar, high tops, a few tables by the windows, and a small room in the back. On weekends the pub gets very lively and busy. On weekdays you'll usually find more room to roam. It's a great destination to spend your whole evening, have some drinks before or after dinner. No food is served here, but there are so many options within the walking distance (neighborhood is safe to walk in day and night). Genuinely you can't go wrong with any surrounding food choices. Many people come here to socialize, have a beer solo, play board games (bring your own), or spend their time at happy hour. Service is always very pleasant and attentive. It's also important to mention that as a single woman I always feel completely safe in this space. Everyone is welcoming and social! The pub is well known for their beer and whiskey. As far as beer, you'll find a variety here - Guinness of course, and local beers - Harp, Butcher & The Brewer, and Fatheads. Tonight I tried The Repeater Euro Lager from the Butcher & The Brewer ($8 + $0.16 credit card surcharge). It was a very smooth lager. I'm not quite a beer connoisseur, but I always felt that beers here are really good. You can also find flights (whiskey, bourbon, etc), wine, gin, vodka, tequila, and rum. Don't overlook their QR menu (found at the bar) with their special drinks. I had mixed drinks here and can attest to the fact that they were very strong, with high quality liquor, and delicious. I mean it's the quality I'd expect at a swanky speakeasy, not a pub. So it's a huge compliment. You can find their menu here: https://www.parnells.pub/drink or scan QR code at the bar. Parking is available at the lot in the back of the building (free). There is also plenty of street parking. Although watch for any posted parking signs. Most importantly, visit Parnell's for Irish NYE! They celebrate NYE during Dublin time (much earlier than NYE). There's a large festive crowd, countdown, and champagne. It's the most festive NYE I've been to, so full of Irish spirit and spirits! You haven't lived until you celebrated Irish NYE! I recommend visiting Parnell's whether for a casual after work pint (especially if you're close to the location at CWRU or the Clinic), a casual date (it might a little loud but you'll have so much fun), a gathering with friends, or really any occasion. My every experience has been very positive, and I know yours will be too!

Good service. Reasonable prices. Clean bar. And... this Cleveland Irish Pub has Malört. Cheers.read more
