I visited late in the morning and found myself the only customer, but the experience was excellent. Although the barista was gone for the day, the bartender crafted a well-made cappuccino and provided great service. The food was delicious, and the cozy atmosphere made it a perfect refuge from the rain. Highly recommend for a calm, comforting breakfast. A favorite find on my trip to Portland.

Avocado toast with egg and turkey sausage

I had to come on and leave an honest review because the good reviews lead me to what was one of the worst breakfast meals I've had the displeasure of eating. I came for breakfast on Nov 19 and had the avocado toast with a fried egg and turkey sausage. For one, the turkey sausage was so bad I couldn't even finish it. I literally spit it back up and put it back on the plate. I asked the waitress to take it off my bill because I didn't want to pay for something I didn't eat. The avocado toast came with a side of greens that were already turning brown on the edges and were so wilted without the dressing, the dressing just made it a soggy mess. What saved the avocado toast was the fried egg that I requested to have added on. I'm not sure if their usual chef was off. But whoever made that meal needs a talk. There is no reason to do that to a customer's tastebuds. I was visiting Portland and this was my first meal in the city. But I refuse to allow it to define Portland for me. The waitress was really sweet but damn that food was tragic. At least I took a cute pic.

Love this place! the brunch was really good. I had the avocado toast and my wife had the breakfast burrito! Both were tasty. This is a saved place for our return to Oregon

So this was my first time here. Just finished them shamrock run and was in dire need of a beer since the beer garden ran out of everything except for Michelob ultra light. Searched in the area and found this place. It was around noon when we got there on a Sunday. They were serving a brunch menu. My mom got the eggs Benedict and I got the burger. My burger was not cheap it came with fry's or a salad I stuck with the salad. It was great. Fresh and simple and tasty. The burger was really good. Juicy good sauce loved the onions and the bun was great as well. I would come back again if in the area. The only drawback for me is the price. Go check them out

We were staying in this hotel, and ended up lazier than we expected to go out and get breakfast. So, we ordered breakfast from here and took it back to the room to eat. I got The Craft Omelette and my bf got the Hi-Lo Breakfast. We both enjoyed our breakfast and it filled us up.

A small group of us wandered in here on a whim while looking for a spot to have a late lunch in Portland. It was around 3pm when we arrived, and the menu had already switched over to dinner (lunch was no longer being served). A bit weird, since their website states their lunch hours as Monday to Friday: 11:00am - 4:00pm & Saturday & Sunday: 11:30am - 4:00pm. :-/ Anyway, we all decided to stay and order. I ended up ordering the "WARM GOAT CHEESE SALAD"... which was described on the menu as "Spinach, strawberries, candied pecans, blueberry vinaigrette". Two others ordered the tomato soup with grilled cheese, and the final person of our group ordered the spicy chicken wings. While the food was generally fine (nothing special, but fine), my simple goat cheese salad was $14 for what was basically a bunch of spinach leaves thrown into a large bowl, with maybe 4 or 5 pecans thrown in, an oddly thick vinaigrette, and a breaded ball of goat cheese. The tomato soups with grilled cheese were $16 a piece too, and the spicy chicken wings were $16. (Holy markup, Batman.) It all also came out of the kitchen within just a couple minutes... like, suspiciously quickly. (To the point where it makes me wonder if someone was back there just microwaving things.) The ambience of the restaurant itself is nice, and the service is fine... neither being remarkable or otherwise noteworthy... but fine. A couple of us at the table were a wee bit put off when we'd ask for something to drink or order and the server would say "how about..." to suggest something else because they didn't offer a particular item. It happened multiple times... 2 of the 4 people just gave up on ordering drinks and stayed with water instead. TL;DR It's... fine? Just okay? It was basically a convenient find at the time, but not a place I'd go back to when visiting Portland again. Since it's a restaurant for a hotel anyway, it seems convenience is probably the biggest factor for those eating here.

Came here for my friends birthday dinner and was not disappointed! We both had the salmon and it was so good, although a little pricey for the small portion size. We also ordered this blackberry champagne drink and it was so good!! This place is located in a hotel and it is honestly very small, I think we got lucky that it wasn't crazy busy. The lighting and decorations were very cute though! The service was just okay. Our waiter was nice, but definitely seemed tired. I think he was the only person working the entire restaurant and bar (that's how small this place is!) so I don't blame him at all. Overall, this was a cute little spot. I wish they had more on the menu, but I wasn't upset with the options!

    Egg sandwich $12

Egg sandwich was good but kind of plain for $12. You'd have to pay a bit more for more toppings. The worker poured me coffee even though I said no and then charged me for it. Oh well. I wouldn't go back here. I'm sure there are better breakfast places around anyways.

We decided on outdoor patio seating since the weather was nice & it was generally quieter outside. We were people watching for a bit and noticed that our fellow restaurant goers were waiting for quite a bit, but we weren't in a hurry, so it was fine. When our waiter eventually tended to us, he was incredibly friendly & apologetic, owning up to the delay being on him, but we were cool with it -poor guy was working a double shift. We started off with deep-fried okra, I ordered the fried chicken meal, & hubby ordered the burger. I got to pick the chicken pieces I wanted, so I went with 2 thighs, thinking they'd be smaller pieces, so I could maybe finish my meal. I opted for collard greens as well. The food came relatively quickly and was super-fresh. The fried okra bits were piping hot down to the last bite. They went well with the spicy aioli. We hung onto the aioli so hubby could dip his fries. My meal was so good. The chicken was incredibly tender and flavorful. The batter was just perfect and crisp. Mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy. Gravy was rich and well-seasoned. Collard greens were so tasty. The balance of textures was just perfection. I ended up having to pack up a piece of chicken because it was so much food, but I enjoyed every bite I was able to take of my meal. I appreciated their welcoming vibe & the beautiful pride balloon arch inside the restaurant. I appreciated the friendly service. I appreciated the thoughtfully and expertly made food. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The service was good, but it wasn't especially memorable or exceptional. Overall, I'd describe the experience as average. Everything we ordered was gorgeous and whimsical in presentation, but of course that would mean little without the flavors to back it all up, which it had in spades. The Thai steak tartare tostadas were incredibly balanced, with brightness and herbaceous notes from the vegetables, herbs, and sauce, great punch from the Thai spices, richness from the tartare, and a nice snap and slight nuttiness from the tapioca crisps cradling everything underneath. The foie gras dumplings were simply divine. I expected them to be rich and dense, but they were like little pillows, with a savory filling and a perfect balance of smoked leek broth, crispy fried leeks, and a caramelized shallot jam that ended up being the surprise star of the dish for me. Then came the main event, the Duck Stack, which I can only describe as a McGriddle on steroids (in the best possible way!). Somehow it all worked beautifully, with the rich duck gravy, fluffy pancakes drenched in syrup, spiced onions, and a fried duck egg tying everything together in perfect harmony. It was one of those dishes that sounds wild on paper but is totally brilliant on the plate and in your mouth. The Duck Stack (pancakes covered with duck gravy, onions, and a duck egg) sounded a bit odd to me (and probably many others). When I asked the server if it was good, they told me that people travel to the restaurant specifically for that dish. I'm glad I tried it. Again, very unique with a well balanced spice profile paired with the delicious undertones of a hot pancake. I know I would have never thought of that, doesn't sound like it should work, but....it worked! Service was great, atmosphere was a bit loud with a band playing next door, it was a bit overwhelming, plus a random dude walked into the restaurant and a server lit his joint for him as a courtesy(?)...stunk the place up for a few minutes, but as I thought about it, I decided that was about the most "Portland" thing I had seen all week on my trip :) I'll be going back for sure, I would love to taste through that entire menu. The fresh lettuce and bell peppers added a satisfying crunch to every bite. Chefwich - K-Town Steak Sandwich (5/5): A limited-time creation packed into a banh mi roll. It had a generous portion of perfectly tender and sweet bulgogi steak that pairs with their melted jack cheese. The gochujang mayo sauce had a subtle and sweet heat, while the fresh kimchi added crunch and slight acidity to balance the rich meat. Elote Tater Tots (5/5): Definitely a creative side dish. The tots were perfectly fried and topped elote style with cotija cheese, pairing well with the smoky chipotle mayo on the side. Logistics Tip: Street parking is surprisingly easy to find in the surrounding area, even on a busy weekend evening. The restaurant has a spacious layout with plenty of seating options both inside and outside. If you're a first-timer, don't hesitate to ask the staff for suggestions, as they're exceptionally warm, welcoming, and passionate about the menu.

I've only been to the Lardo in PDX (is it still there?), so I felt like I needed to give the brick…read moreand mortar a chance because, let's face it, the one in PDX is meh. We walked down here on a beautiful day after wedding deletes shopping, so spirits were high. Located on a busy corner, but with plenty of outdoor seating, Lardo is a good place to have lunch on a Saturday. I have nothing to say about the parking sitch. My daughter and I shared the Willamette Reuben and her friend ordered the Italian Flag. We shared the Lardo fries. Oh man, the Reuben was perfection! The flavor of the meat and everything on the sandwich, from texture to flavor--chef's kiss! We heard that the Italian Flag was excellent too. Definitely, you can share a sandwich especially if you're having fries. The fries were delicious--crispy and flavorful on the outside, perfectly hot and mushy on the inside. Yum!
