Came here for Portland Dining Month and really enjoyed it. Hubby ordered off menu and got the heirloom tomatoes and burger/fries. I would consider it one of my favorite burgers in Portland. From the Dining Month menu, we started with the mushroom puff pastry, which tasted great but was a little hard to eat. It's a good size for sharing but I think they should serve them bite size with less crust instead of one giant puff pastry. Got the elk and foie gras risotto for the second course, which was really yummy. We're usually too full for dessert but the pot de creme didn't feel too heavy by the end. The restaurant itself is quite interesting. It's located in the lobby of Hi-Lo and is very open concept. People were constantly coming and going at the bar but plenty of sit down diners as well. Definitely give it a try for Dining Month or just for a regular meal. read more

Awesome brunch spot. We had the French toast and two egg breakfasts, both of which were perfect. The bacon was excellent: actual meat that was cooked to perfection. Eggs were also done exactly as I requested, which doesn't always happen in restaurants. The potatoes were also to die for: crunchy on the outside, yet soft on the inside, accompanied by the right seasoning that didn't require extra salt or pepper. The French toast was also divine: challah bread, evenly browned, topped with fruit. Service was also good. I wish we had a place like this in Boise, but if we did, we would've had to wait an hour or more. We walked right in to this place on a Sunday and sat down, which would've never happened in Boise. read more

We found this place from yelp again for a quick breakfast. It was inside a hotel so a bit hard to find the entrance. The food was not bad and the interior was alright. Service was good. Overall I think it's a good choice of restaurants in old town Portland. read more

Craft PDX is definitely a great option for breakfast. The food is of high quality, and the restaurant itself is classy and clean. We went on a Saturday morning and it was surprisingly very quiet. Our server was friendly and attentive. It's located within a very nice hotel called the Hi-Lo. There is street parking nearby as well as a parking lot that requires payment across the street. The ambience of the restaurant is pretty basic, nothing exceptional but it is comfortable and well kept. The coffee used currently is Nossa Familia, which is an excellent local coffee roaster. Our server made sure we got refills as quickly as possible. In terms of the breakfast entrees, they were very good but not exceptional. The breakfast burrito was tasty but could use some minor improvements. It could use a little more seasoning. However, I still really enjoyed it! The ingredients were very fresh and pleasing. We also tried the Spinach Eggs Benedict with bacon added. It is a must to add the bacon because the bacon is absolutely delicious! I liked the texture and crispiness of the potatoes, which were good overall, but they could use a bit more seasoning. Although not perfect, we did really enjoy our breakfast here and would recommend it if you are looking for a very good breakfast within a classy hotel. read more

Very disappointed on this one. I am a local food reviewer and was excited to try craft after seeing its yelp rating as well as seeing it mentioned in another article. The rosemary garlic fries were average joe fries with a couple sprigs of Rosemary on top. We ordered the chicken sandwich as well as the burger. These were school hot lunch status. No joke. The tomatoes on the burger were so old they were colorless and the bun was wet and soggy. The chicken sandwhich we had a hood laugh over- it looked like it came out of a Wendy's bag except we paid over $50 for the meal all together. The only good part was the service. I have been staying at the Hi-Lo Hotel in which Craft PDX is located for the past 8 days and have had the ability to experience the restaurant for both dinner and just drinks. I will say that - first off - the staff is LOVELY. They are very accommodating and know how to make a great drink. The food is pretty good. We had the burger - which has a soft and light potato bun which does well for the multi-meat ground patty which simulates the best home-made, backyard patty at your dad's BBQ. I added pickles, brisket and BBQ sauce to mine. It comes with peppercorn sauce and arugula. I've had fancier burgers, but this was tasty. The real hero was the Wagyu Beef meatball sub. Same soft, yet firm bun (but a sub bun) as the burger but delicious, moist and fully flavored meatballs that were beyond better than a standard Italian restaurant. They have cheese, pesto and marinara sauce on top to make your mouth explode. Must recommend! For drinks we have had the Hi-Tai and I order a French 75 often. Both made well. The location is great, atmosphere very good. A smaller restaurant - so if you aren't staying in the hotel you might want to make reservation. It was never fully packed, but was pretty busy Friday evening. read more

Chef Brian is a Wizard. The "burger bar" burgers are juicy and succulent with the aged cheddar and crisp onion bits. Beet salad, delicious. Cole slaw, extraordinary! made with poppy seeds, carrot and two kinds of cabbage in a creamy dressing. The accompanying rosé wine (Spindrift 2018 Pinot Noir Rosé from Philomath, Oregon) was a delicious surprise. Loved craftPDX! We went here with a group of 10 friends for my birthday! The waitress was friendly and super attentive! They even gave me a glass of champagne and two amazing desserts to share with friends to celebrate. I got the tacos for dinner and a margarita! We chose this place on a Saturday night because reservations were readily available and it looked like it had some mildly kid-friendly foods while also some more interesting options. Upon arrival, we noticed that the dining area was almost completely empty, which raised some suspicions (empty tables on a Saturday night in Portland??). We soon learned why. The food and service were uneven. Some dishes were good, like the appetizer meatballs (very spicy) and the Parmesan fries. The kale salad was positively mediocre, an unappetizing mix of overdressed, soggy kale, lukewarm sweet potatoes and half-cut grapes. The kids' burgers seemed fine, although the waiters brought my son a cheeseburger despite him ordering a hamburger. The quesadilla was large and hearty, but served with guacamole that was browning around the edges. The service was pretty good. Our waiter was conversational, sometimes a little too much so. He would sneak up on us from behind and startle us sometimes. He also aggressively tried to upsell items to our kids (do you want $3-extra bacon with your burger??). Despite almost no one there, the food still took quite a while to come out of the kitchen (the waiter mentioned the kitchen being "backed up," despite the emptiness). And a different server brought out the meals, annoyingly not knowing which dish went where. With all the excellent dining options available in Portland, I will almost certainly choose other options on future Saturday nights. They might be worth the wait. read more

Love everything about this place! Beautiful airy restaurant/bar situated within the hotels lobby. Wallet friendly happy hour options like a killer brisket taco that is layered with care; get it! Also really into the concept of seasonally rotating dishes. If you see the bay shrimp app on the menu when you make it in, I highly recommend it! Also FREAKIN FABULOUS PO BOY!!!!! Chef Bryant is using the great local purveyors like Nicky Farms and Grand Central. I can't wait to get back for some of the fall dishes I was told about! My girlfriends and I came in for brunch last week to enjoy their $2 mimosa special! (Can you get a better mimosa deal, I don't think so!!) the space was attached to a hotel and had such a cute charm to it. We ordered brunch and the food came out tasting great. We are all in the restaurant industry so we know how the ball rolls when something goes wrong. One item took a bit longer to come out than the rest and the restaurant and team did everything right to take care of us. Server, acknowledged the problem, Manager came over to address the situation, even gave us a complimentary dessert the kitchen whipped up just for us. They even ended up taking the item off the final bill. We enjoyed all the food and the professional manner the restaurant handled the dragging food item. We will be back after such great service! My husband and I had breakfast here this morning. It is located in the Hi-Lo Hotel. We both ordered the Hi-Lo breakfast with coffee. The coffee smelled so good and tasted great. Our server said it is from a local roaster Nossa Familia. The breakfast had two eggs, homemade sausage, potatoes and toast. Everything on the plate was delicious. Our server checked on us and offered coffee refills before we even asked. I didn't catch our server's name, but I think it is Aimee (from the receipt). She was really nice and the food was outstanding. We will definitely return to Craft PDX. read more
