Modern restaurant and well lit with only light coming in from top of hotel. Uniquely designed and decorated hotel with plenty of space / seating. Restaurant is located inside of The Nines Hotel. Service was great and bartenders were very helpful in getting us our drinks and explaining the restaurants hours of operation for dining. You can come before 5pm and get served at the bar but you cannot sit in the main dining area or order food until 5pm. This restaurant fell short of my groups expectations as the actual space did not match the vibe or aesthetic shown online. Something just felt off, but food and drinks were good and the bartenders service was great!

Blackened Chicken Sandwich with salad (harvest)

This restaurant is hidden on the 9th floor of a hotel...in the center of large space...with a roof skylight high above 4 floors of hotel windows & balconies looking down on you. You will definitely have plenty to talk about looking around. It is aiming to be gourmet food, but the execution does not quite match. The service is also not quite top tier. I had the blackened chicken sandwich with a side harvest salad. It was decent, but I've had better tasting and better looking plates at dive bars. The deviled eggs were okay, but the shrimp are not recommended. Focaccia was my favorite app. If steak is their thing, maybe try that.

This is the place for Saturday brunch. Super easy to reserve on open table and not very busy. Located in the nines hotel, super cute chic area and really awesome lounge area to hang out. The restaurant is enclosed on the side and it's not loud with natural skylight and rooms that overlook the area. Really yummy food and the service was great.

Stopped in for a light meal and a cocktail the other day. Sat at the bar and ordered some food and cocktails. Both bartenders were friendly even though they were very busy. Cocktails and food came out in a timely manner. Comfortable seats at the bar and not too noisy even though there were several tables near us. I tried the "Mechanical Animal" and the "Wake Me Up Before you Go Go" cocktails. Both enjoyable, though the first may not be for everyone, as the bartender warned me. Caesar Salad with Shrimp. Everyone else had burgers and enjoyed them.

The restaurant is inside a hotel and it had a nice atmosphere. The cocktails are superb. Service was great. Timing was very off. I had the chilled shrimp as an appetizer, delicious. But it took forever for my entree and by the time it was ready, I was ready to go home. So I hit it boxed up, they comped my drinks, which was fantastic. Got home, my steak was perfect. Overall, great place, will try again!

This was our last stop before heading to the airport and I could not be happier with our choice of visiting Urban Farmer. We stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon for drinks, and I only wish we had more time for Happy Hour oysters. My heart broke knowing we were so close, but we had to be responsible and catch a flight. Service is friendly and fast. I like that the bartender left us to our own, so we can soak in the atmosphere. It's beautiful inside with a lot of natural light and open space. It can get a little warm with the sun shining, but it was very enjoyable nonetheless. I would come back again for more drinks and HH!

We had a very good experience here for lunch. The service was good and we sat on these incredible couch chairs. The food came out fast and fresh. Not the best fries we've ever had, but the beet salad was exceptionally good.

Excellent breakfast and an easy standout during my stay. The crispy sourdough was perfect, the eggs were cooked beautifully, and the jam was fantastic. The real star of the meal was the chicken sausage, honestly one of the most delicious things I've eaten in a long time, and I could've finished an entire plate without thinking twice. The yogurt parfait was also very good, though quite sweet with the purée, fruit, and honey all together. Next time I'd ask for the honey on the side just to control the sweetness a bit. Great service and friendly people. Good ambiance. Appropriate volume (not too noisy). Overall, a fantastic breakfast spot and well worth it.

Been here before a few years ago for some drinks. Really like the atmosphere, music and relaxed vibe of the place and service. The food is also very delicious. Went here today for the Easter brunch they are providing. Tried a little bit of everything, but the steak was so tender and flavorful. Everything was good though. Went great with coffee. The desserts were also hard to choose, but went with the little mousse and cheesecake shot glasses. The tropical mousse was refreshing indeed too.

I can't recommend this place enough! I had the pleasure of dining here for both breakfast and dinner, and meeting so many of the wonderful staff. Special shoutout to Raymond, Jake, Tanner, Tom, and countless others who made our visits so memorable. For breakfast, I tried the avocado toast with bacon and the açaí bowl. The avocado toast was a perfect balance of flavors and textures, and very filling. The açaí bowl was excellent as well; it was already sweet enough on its own, so next time I'd skip the honey. For dinner, I ordered the pork chop on Raymond's glowing recommendation, and it did not disappoint. The portion was generous, and the stone fruit with pickled mustard seeds elevated the flavor beautifully. We also enjoyed the tender greens salad as a starter, and for sides, the mac & cheese and Yukon gold potato purée were both outstanding. Dessert is where Urban Farmer truly shines. I can't recommend the butterscotch sundae enough; I had it twice during my stay and it was absolute perfection, with just the right mix of textures and a generous portion. The brûlée is also excellent with its perfectly torched surface. And of course, I have to mention the cornbread with whipped butter at dinner; it's hands-down the best I've ever had! Many thanks to the Urban Farmer team for such a wonderful dining experience. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Overall, this is a Portland gem. Tucked off of Pioneer square, the unexpected multi-story skylit restaurant is farm to table with great service and ambiance. The salmon and steak was amazing and the pastry basket was such a treat!

    Calamari
    Stephanie S.

The calamari was meh, the cacio e pepe was mediocre and the deviled eggs were good. This was a business lunch so I failed to take pictures. Service was slow because it was a group of 9 so that's understandable and they get a pass. It's located on the 8th floor for the hotel and there are no windows in the restaurant. Parking garage was 2 blocks away or there is street parking avail or hotel valet.

We celebrated our anniversary dinner last night, our table was decorated with flowers and card from the staff. We were greeted by Katrina, she is very nice, professional and polite. She took care of us, made suggestions and recommendations. The crab cake is delicious along with the bone in pork chop and salmon. Cooked to our liking. We loved it . The evening went well . Thank you Katrina for your excellent service.

You can absolutely smell the fish and vinegar as soon as you walk through the door, which I think gives the place a very homey pub feel. I ordered a spiked peach Arnold Palmer, which I enjoyed (and it was pleasantly strong) and a glass of the house white, which was good for the price. Our server was very fast and attentive. To eat I got the tomato soup with a grilled cheese, which was absolutely fantastic. The soup was so creamy and flavorful, and I cannot imagine a better meal after spending all day walking outside in the rain. The fries were super crispy and I liked the batter. My partner and I shared some of their breadsticks, which were deliciously baked (fresh!) and came with a super refreshing basil crema and a nice tomato-y dip. Wonderful all. My partner ordered fish and chips, and was surprised to find that it is one large fillet of fish, not multiple pieces like you would typically expect. He said the fish was fine, but a little tough. Overall, a wonderful experience. I definitely hope to return. I highly recommend this place as a refuge during the cold winter months!

When a friend invited my sister and I to go, I whipped out my trusty yelp app and checked out ratings and menu. The menu looked fine-mostly traditional American style, featuring their turkey dinner and Spanish coffee. I wasn't that keen on turkey in August, but our friend ordered it and was pleased. My sister and I have pretty much the same taste and usually like the same things on the menu! We decided to split 2 entrees-the chicken special of the day and beef stroganoff. The first thing Summer, our server brought out was their beer bread. We wish we had the recipe. I loved it so much I'd like to make it at home. Then we got our entrees. The kitchen kindly split our orders so we each got 2 plates! It was a LOT of food! And we loved both! We couldn't decide which one we liked better! I can't remember what the chicken special was called but it had cherry tomatoes lightly sautéed in it and a flavorful sauce. Our friend wanted chocolate mousse for dessert , and we couldn't just sit there and watch her eat it so we ordered our own (no sharing this time!). It's dark and very rich. She also wanted to try Spanish coffee. They put on quite a show. They pour triple sec in the bottom, set it on fire and it melts the sugar they put on the rim. In goes rum & kaluah, and finally a little coffee and some whipped cream on top. We all tried it and WOW! It's potent! If that's your thing you need to get it! Three sips was more than enough for me. Summer was an outstanding server. She talked to us like we were old friends, made suggestions and was just lovely in every way. Go to Huber's! Those two boxes were checked but the rest of the 2 and a half hour visit was abysmal to say the least. I made a reservation a week before, knowing this place offers the best views in Portland, & hoping to solidify a great spot with our meal - no. The hostess said our best bet would be to sit in the lounge, we accepted & did as such. It was a decent amount of time until we received water - our ordered beverages came significantly later. We didn't order our main dish until 10 minutes before closing. When we ordered an over $100 bottle of wine we were met with an eye roll and sigh of frustration because our waiter was overworked & didn't have time to care about what we, as paying customers, wanted. I want to be clear that I do not fault our waiter for his reaction because he was visibly overwhelmed throughout the entirety of our visit. I am significantly disappointed in the customer service - as horrendous and incredibly long even the smallest requests took. If I make a reservation for 7:30 and leave the restaurant at 10 - after having reminded the staff several times of what we wanted or needed that is indicative of the establishment and management not the individuals. The food prices are not reflective of the overall service and experience. To be frank, if you (as an establishment) do not have the bandwidth to cater to your customers needs, then the prices should coincide with the experience, or hire more staff to fill the gaps that exist. I am genuinely saddened that my mom and I, who both love a great restaurant experience, left dissatisfied and disappointed in her celebratory dinner. The food was great. But not great enough to overcompensate for the overall nature of the experience.

Not sure if the waitress forgot about us or staff attending larger parties but it was a bit of a wait given that it was not busy, only had one waitress working. Table behind us got there orders within 15 minutes of ordering, so kind of perplexed about the wait. Luckily, the neighbor across the street was cutting his very dry grass so that was entertaining.
