We went here for brunch on a Sunday. Had a 15 min wait. Service was prompt, our waitress was very nice! It's a nice restaurant with ample seating indoor and outdoor near Embassy suites in downtown Portland. We got Denver Omelette, Kingsland Breakfast, Bagel and Lox, and everything was great! Salad was fresh, omelette was amazing and ham was tasty! Only complaint is the bacon was over cooked. Great experience, will visit again!
If you are looking for large portions and some unique brunch options, check out Kingsland Kitchen. Bright open space even on a cloudy day. Super friendly service. Tried 2 entrees today: The Pacific Northwest Omelet (three egg omelet | smoked salmon lox | greens| dill cream cheese). It comes with an option of salad or potatoes. Holli's Hashbrown Casserole (cheesy bacon hashbrown casserole | Guinness-braised beef brisket | one egg any style | bacon buttered toast | house hot sauce | serrano pepper). Got the hot sauce a the side. It actually was really nice with the flavors of this dish. A heads up, it's a loud place so keep that in mind & be prepared if you are noise sensitive. Great flavorful food, generous portion and fantastic service. Definitely recommend.
Overall rating would be 3.25 Went for brunch with 2 friends and the place was pretty empty- maybe 3 or 4 other tables the entire time we were there. The restaurant is connected to The Embassy Suites. Our waitress was friendly, but seemed to be doing a lot of things. She took our order, made our lattes, made all the drinks actually, running food, etc. Service was slower, but she was busy doing other things so it is hard to fault someone for that aspect. It did take quite awhile to pay (at least 20 minutes after asking for the check) and the tip is already included (20%). The food was good, but not great. I opted to try their pancakes that had cotton candy on it and it was okay. My friends liked their food, but it wasn't anything special. They did offer a complementary birthday cake shot for the birthday girl we were celebrating which was nice. Things to note- it's street parking- 2 hours Parking Kitty. Their restrooms are far away (walk through lobby of Embassy) and you have to take a card key to gain access which doesn't seem too sanitary even with the hand sanitizer next to them.
The selection of food here is pretty impressive. They have options for everyone - omnivores, vegetarians and vegans. Today I wanted to try something different. I'm not much of an egg Benedict person. However today I am going for it; going out of my comfort zone. There were 4 choices, and I went with the classic. It was poached eggs with honey ham topped with chipotle hollandise sauce. You may have a choice of home style potatoes or green salad. I chose the potatoes. I'm of the opinion that the egg Benedict didn't disappoint. It was poached to my liking, not too runny or too firmly. It was just nicely cooked. The sauce has excellent flavor. And the potatoes too was nicely cooked; crispy to my liking. Besides the good food, the atmosphere was casual and relax with friendly staff. And, for a rather busy place, we didn't wait long for our food to be served. After your meal, check out the rest of the building.
Some of the fluffiest pancakes I've eaten, so good and my breakfast sandwich was hearty with bacon and avocado. Good service and good Bloody Mary.
Cute spot with lots of natural lighting. Located in downtown. Parking can be tricky. Service was good, waitress was very friendly & accommodating. Food missed the mark tbh. Eggs Benedict was nothing to rave about. The potatoes are good. My friend didn't like her steak and eggs, she asked for it medium well & it was so bloody (rare) she couldn't eat it. That as well as the steak having a good chunk of inedible fat on it. Latte tasted burnt & bitter. Pancakes were good, had a chewy & crispy texture. Overall, this place missed the mark for me. Food was nothing special & the prices were expensive given the quality of food. Would not recommend or return.

This place is serving classic breakfast plates vibes. It is located and shares location with the embassy suites. Shoutout Hyacinth and Cassie for their hard work and being friendly. The steak and eggs combo was so good, the steak was well seasoned and didn't need the steak sauce. The chicken sandwich was just and moist and that hot sauce and aioli spread was tasty. The only thing I wished is the chicken breast a bit bigger. And those French toast were fluffy and perfection.

My mom and I split this as I couldn't decide on those 2. I'm glad we did, and my favorite from the 2 were the French toast! The syrup they served with this seems really lite! It was not sweet. As for the fried chicken Benedict, I thought this was good too. That was lightly seasoned. The potatoes and fried chicken did not have much flavor and I think a little more salt in it would've made a big difference.
Friendly service and amazing food! I ordered the burrito, which was really enough to feed a family of four. I'm looking forward to leftovers. A breakfast sandwich and a salmon scramble were also ordered and absolutely delicious. The pictures I took have a bite out of each one because we couldn't wait to dig in. Our server was so friendly and helpful. It made our experience all the better. I look forward to returning to Kingsland kitchen and definitely recommend.

I love the ambiance here esp the outdoor patio options. Perfect for weekday and weekend brunch. The service is another one that stands out. The smoked salmon eggs Benny was spot on
We had a party of ten but with a reservation made in advance. Happy they can accommodate such a large party as the place isn't huge. Our server did a great job handling our drinks and food. Ordered the Hollis Hashbrown Casserole because it looked interesting. Seemed to be the popular choice at our table as several ordered it. Delicious and filling dish. Good for splitting with a couple or extras for take home. The restaurant does not have bathrooms but the Embassy Suites does in the lobby which you can get to from inside the restaurant. You make sure to grab the key card. The only thing I disliked was that the food was brought out too far spaced apart. The final order arrived 15-20 min after the first order. Made the experience not ideal as you don't want your food to get cold but you don't want to start eating until everyone gets their food. Eventually we started to eat our food as it did start to get cold. Just something to note for large parties.
Went here on the recommendation of someone who was just leaving while my friend and I looked at the menu. The wait staff was friendly and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. I had the bacon egg and avocado sandwich and really enjoyed it. It was huge and came with a healthy portion of fries, so it is a lot for breakfast. My friend had the Eton mess pancakes--four fluffy pancakes with strawberries, blueberries, a strawberry coulis, and topped with cotton candy! Really something to see, but also a massive amount of food. In other words, come hungry, split some dishes, or be ready for leftovers. The brunch burger did not disappoint! It was so good and so were the fries. We honestly loved it. Service was good and our food arrived pretty quick; average. Our server was really friendly. I really liked the ambiance of the restaurant, really chill, lots of people on their 30s. read more

We got the California omelette as well as the fried chicken Benedict. The potatoes were flavorful and the perfect texture and the fried chicken was moist and the sauce for the Benedict was also delicious. Very friendly service as well and had a cute interior and ambiance. read more

Drinks were tasty, and the food was great! Everything was well seasoned and not overly salty. I enjoyed every dish that we got! The omelette was soft and fluffy, bacon was crisp, and toast was not overly dry/burnt. The french toast was my favorite! It wasn't too sweet and the toast was fluffy. The white cream and berries that came with it complimented the cinnamon taste. Arrived around 10 and got seated right away, but it did fill up shortly! They do take reservations, so if you're driving far I'd be sure to give them a call. Service was very minimal. Our server only stopped by to grab stuff out of the way and hand us the check, but never checked in if we needed anything else. Overall a great spot for brunch but make sure to flag them down if you need anything! read more

Such a good brunch spot!! I definitely recommend getting their fluffy pancakes! The host and waiters were so kind and welcoming! We came in around the time they opened and customers are started piling in and understandably so since the food is so good! Very affordable and the environment is great! Great spot for breakfast! We were lucky enough to walk right in on a Saturday morning. I immediately knew that I wanted the English breakfast since it's not something I can always get. My husband got the fried chicken benedict. Everything was good and pretty quick considering it was a Saturday. We also had plenty of food and both brought some home. The place is located right next to another popular breakfast spot and can be accessed from the street or from the adjoining hotel lobby. FYI, you'll need to study a map and grab a key card to find the restrooms that are on the other side of the hotel lobby. read more

Ate breakfast here before heading to the airport. The restaurant offers typical breakfast items to include pancakes and chicken sandwiches. I ended up getting the eggs Benedict Florentine. They offer you a side of potatoes versus side salad. Since it was breakfast, I decided on the potatoes. You get a good portion served to you. The food was OK. The hollandaise sauce wasn't flavorful. For my drink, I had the Irish coffee. It was good and strong. Parking is street parking. We were there on a Monday so got lucky with a good spot right across from the restaurant. You do have to pay for parking. The waitress and assisted us was friendly and gave good suggestions. Inside seating is pretty limited. read more

From avocado toast to almost every rendition of eggs, Kingsland served its purpose for some bites after a smooth NYC to PDX early Saturday afternoon landing which our kid picked for during our extremely short trip in town. Identical to Mother's Bistro located at the Hilton Embassy Suites, this is Kingsland- with a smaller and maybe, an even more casual setup from Mother's. Regardless, we managed to get here like 25 minutes to closing and you would think we'd be rushed. Think again. Between my mom's spicy chicken sandwich, hubs' cured ham (looked like sliced-at-the-supermarket-meat) sandwich, my kid's salmon+lox omelette with the works and my plain omelette (request) with queso fresco, quick bites was all we needed. Music was an 80s, 90s, 2000s throwback. If anything, service from both the hostess and our server, was legit from beginning to end. read more
Quality brunch in Portland. I was craving a full English one morning, and this is where Google led me. Everything was cooked in the way I would have wanted -- perfect eggs, and charred crisp on everything else. The other dishes and the drinks were a bit underwhelming in my eyes. The fried chicken benny and the potatoes that were served with seemed either overfried or fried in old oil. The London Fog that I ordered was very watery and actually not very pleasant. Overall, I think the restaurant has a clear identity in its concept and the food is definitely worth trying. read more

Stopped by Kingsland's Kitchen in downtown for brunch and it did not disappoint! Parking is street-only and it can get a little hectic, so I'd recommend coming on a weekday if you can swing it. I had the Fried Chicken Benedict and it was absolutely delicious--crispy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the hollandaise. My sister got the Salmon Benedict, which was super refreshing, beautifully plated, and just the right amount of filling. Service was on point--friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome. I also tried their espresso martini, which was a perfect brunch cocktail--smooth, rich, and not too sweet. Highly recommend checking this place out if you haven't yet. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

Looking for something open on 4th of July stumbled upon this brunch spot. Seated quickly , waiter was kind and skilled at his job. I was torn between the all American breakfast and breakfast tacos. Waiter stated the all American has a little bit of everything, bet I'll take 1 of those. The food at this establishment is overflowing and definitely enough for 2 if not a possible 3. Eggs, pancakes, bacon and hash browns all were delicious. Pancakes were fluffy and flavorful didn't even need butter. The only thing I didn't care for was the sausage patty it was thick and a flavor I'm not accustomed to. But overall a great stop in downtown Portland. read more

Nothing show stopping! I came for breakfast to celebrate a birthday with some friends. We called ahead and had a table waiting for us. The inside is very clean and cute. The menu is just about one page. I wish there were a few more options. I struggled to pick but landed on the kingsland breakfast. It was a very typical plate that I could've made at home and saved $17 + gratuity on. Eggs were typical. Bacon was thankfully not overcooked! On the thinner side. The potatoes were undercooked. Had good color and were hot but weren't soft at all. I also don't think my toast was actually toasted. You have to add your own salt and pepper on everything too. My friends received undercooked pancakes and didn't love their plates. Also keep in mind that an automatic 20% gratuity is added to groups of 5 or more. I saw the message on the menu but we weren't told by our server. Our server was very nice though and was happy to help us. read more

This place truly did not live up to the hype for me. Ambiance/Service - 2/5 I would attribute this to getting the worst table in the place despite having a reservation. This is of course no fault of the servers but that of the person who thought placing an uneven table smack dab in the middle of everything was a good idea. We were surrounded by servers slamming trays and high chairs - again no fault of the servers, they were keeping up with the rush. Due to the placement of the table, I felt everything was too loud and did not feel comfortable. Food - Eton Mess Pancakes - 2/5 This was truly a disappointment. The pancakes were stodgy, uneven and too thick. It reminded me of when I attempted making pancakes for the first time in my life years ago. Maybe it was a bad day for the chef? But seriously, not restaurant quality pancakes at all. The reason this dish gets a 2/5 is because the chantilly cream and berry coulis were good, but that goes only so far while making up for amateur pancakes. Food - Salmon Eggs Benedict - 4/5 Thankfully the chef's incompetence with pancakes did not extend to benedicts. The husband pronounced them tasty. The breakfast potatoes however need work. The inside of the potatoes was unsalted - as someone who has personally has made a mess of potatoes in my own cooking experiments, people really need to learn that you have to salt while boiling them! Overall, I would not visit this place again. They really need to figure out how to get their basics down in my opinion. Of course, maybe these dishes are not their strong points and possibly other stuff on the menu is better made. read more

Went with the family today and we were blown away. First of all, our waiter Chase was absolutely fantastic. Truly one of the best servers I've had anywhere. His customer service was perfection, he was so friendly and on top of everything. We informed him of a severe food allergy and he was so considerate and caring about it. He also brought both of the kids special glittery water. I hope that the owner is reading this because Chase deserves a raise for his impeccable customer service! Now, on to the food. The food was also fantastic! The Eton Mess Pancakes were wonderful and my daughter loved seeing the cotton candy on top! Biscuits and gravy was also super wonderful! Bacon was perfectly cooked! Don't hesitate to try this place out. It's well worth the trip. Definitely adding this to the list of places to return to! read more
