I was referred to Craftsmen through my insurance. I wish I had done more research beforehand. I had some front damage to my vehicle because of unexpected debris impact on the freeway. The repair to the bumper and lights were fine, but whatever they did to my tire has been progressively problematic. A few minutes after driving out of the lot, my tire light came on. I didn't know then that this would be the first in multiple times of contacting and returning to Craftsmen get it checked, having to keep my car there (so needing to get a rental) each time, and having it returned with them saying the issue had been resolved. I ended up having to get the car checked three times, and every time I'd get the car back, the tire light would reappear within my commute. Finally, I got fed up -- and they must have too because they ultimately said the issue wasn't their responsibility. The girl literally told me to go to my "usual body shop or mechanic" to get it checked out. That's when it made sense: my insurance had already paid them out, and I already paid my portion, so they didn't need to offer any additional service to me. I wasn't worth the time or the headache. I understand that Craftsmen is referred by several insurance companies, but if you have other options, you'd probably be better off elsewhere. Obviously, I hope I don't have to get my car fixed again, but if I do, I wouldn't go back. Pretty disappointed by the quality of work and the service. read more

I found out about this place through the Cerritos Chamber of Commerce. Super glad I did. Some girl hit my girlfriends parked Tahoe and bent up the bumper. Here is the amazing part. She was honest enough to leave a note on her car. So i told her that I would check around and try to save her some cash as she was interested in getting it done without insurance. These guys were competitively priced and super good to work with with. I worked with a guy named Brad. Super cool guy and he to was as honest as the girl who hit my girlfriends car. I was going to fix her mirror since we were there ( now its broke again) He gave me several options trying to find the most affordable way to go about it. Full service shop, honest, and great to work with. If you got something broke, take it to these guys and ask for Brad. read more

So I dented the front fender and scuffed the bumper of my Bmw Z4 (very long hood, bumped into a wall while turning). The dealer was going to charge me $2,300 for the repair, so I started looking for other options.. I found Craftsmen auto body and took my car in for a quote. I was impressed with their facility and liked the fact that my car was going to be kept indoors while it was being worked on...the price was much lower than the dealer's and not much higher than some "hole in the walls" that I got quotes from. The fact that they have a lifetime warranty was more than worth it for me. After the work was done on my car, I'd have to say they did a very good job, and based on past experience, I'm pretty sure they have done even better than the dealer could have. Very nice body shop. I'm a very hard person to please when it comes to bodywork and paint. My car got hit on the passenger side and both the doors had to be replaced and painted. It took about three weeks to fix the car and everything went very smooth. When I went to pick up the car, they repaired it like it was a Ferrari. Color matched perfect. I examined it for 10 minutes looking at every angle to find some faults but I couldn't find any. I used to restore old VW's and I know what a custom or $15k paint job looks like and they nailed it. If they can please me I'm pretty sure they can please anyone. And by the way, work station area looks so clean it looks like a research facility. Super super clean. Have them take you to the work area and see it for yourself. read more

Brought my '06 Honda Civic to get repairs on a bumper. I needed a rental during the time and they had connections to Enterprise and were able to get me a free upgrade on the car (an Altima instead of the Versa they had). The staff there was really helpful and i also recommend Brad as a guy to work with. I had trouble with the insurance (the AAA claims rep was terrible) and they were able to finish the job a few days sooner so that i wouldn't have to pay for an extended rental (because AAA refused to pay). Overall, my experience was great and they were easy to work with (especially the female receptionist..Zedia?). They washed my car and the repairs they made looked as if it was brand new. Craftsmen is seriously the best body shop around! This is the second time I've had to take my car here (and even though I love them, I hope it's the last lol), but they really are amazing. My car looks brand spankin new! Can't even tell it was in an accident! And the best part is that they finished it 2 weeks earlier then the anticipated repair date. Super fast! TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Went to bring in my brothers car in regards to an improperly installed windshield. The windshield wasn't leveled nor was the bottom. Driving the vehicle you can hear wind coming in from the bottom of the windshield. Brian or Bryan the manager was no where near professional. Just explaining all the problems with the windshield he wouldn't even let me finish my sentences. Saying we were coming at him, well obviously we're going to address the issues with the car. As the "manager" you think he would hear everything out and try to see what he could do. Brian or Bryan was just being rude.. constantly interrupting and not hearing us out. Then states while I'm trying to explain another issue "this isn't even your car". Obviously it isn't but stepping in for my brother who works at a hospital and couldn't make his way I'd be happily to help him out. Not being able to explain and being interrupted Bryan or Brian felt like an argument with a child. How he became a manager boggles my mind. Also tried to explain that there was broken shards of glass on the dash board. Saying that the owner didn't want the car cleaned. So you're telling me that you're okay with leaving broken glass from the removal of the old one in the car is okay? Brian or Bryan is a joke. How could anyone take this company seriously. Advice for anyone who's considering this place, go elsewhere. I'm positive the company will turn their back on you just like Brian or Bryan did by not talking to us. This is a great body shop. My wife and I have had to come here twice in the past 3 months. In October 2013 she was rear ended while stopped at a red light on the way to work. Craftsman Auto Body is an authorized Mercury Insurance repair facility and is just down the street from us so we called up and dropped off her car. The initial estimate was 3 days but the damage was more than they thought. It took about a week and they kept us updated. We got the car back and it looked great. They washed it and cleaned it inside as well. Just a few days ago (January 2014) we were rear ended while waiting at a red light driving home from the grocery store. It happened Sunday night, and we spoke with Mercury that night. Monday morning I dropped off the car with Craftsman. They offered to contact the rental place for me but I had a ride on the way so I told them no thank you. They had the back end taken apart and an estimate in less than 3 hours. They initially told us 2 weeks for the repair, I picked it up today (Wednesday) just 3 days later. There was much more damage this time including the back lift gate but they were able to pop out the dent and you cant even tell it was hit. If you need car work done these guys are great. I can't vouch for their prices as I've never had to have a car repaired outside of these 2 times but they seem reasonable. If you have Mercury insurance and need a repair after an accident hit these guys up. If you just need some body work done check with these guys as well. read more

I got rear-ended in 2011 and then again last month. Both times I took my 2006 Escalade to Craftsmen Auto Body. I was thrilled with my car both times. This last time was extensive damage but when I got it back, my car looked brand new! The guys there are extremely professional and courteous. They got me dialed into the email/text notification on the various stages of my repair, plus, they exceeded the committed completion deadline by over a week early. The service, both on my vehicle and how they treat the customer is OUTSTANDING. Today, I took my car AGAIN to have them install the driver rear view mirror that got stolen. After posting my experience, Craftsmen was quick to contact me and fix any issues in regard to my car. They were not defensive and instead were sincerely apologetic and helpful. This shows how much they care about their customers and customer service. For that reason, I'm adding three stars. I appreciated Brad's follow-up and efforts, as well as both Brad and Justin's customer service. Thank you. Also I had an issue with my fog lights not working. Initially I thought it was accidentally unwired during the repair process (although they didn't work on the front of my car). They gladly looked into the issue for me and fixed it. I do still believe that my initial experience was lacking; however, if a business acknowledges customer feedback and is looking to improve quality of service, then it's easy to look past it. It's impossible for businesses to be on their game 100% of the time, but I do believe Craftsmen tries their hardest to do so. And also, they are great guys. read more

The guy was very helpful tell he saw my car he did not want to even look at my car and just blew me off piss me off real bad. I live down the street the only reason why I went there yea my car is old I have lots of money invested in my car about 8 grand in my suspension and my engine I wanted my car to look as good as it ran.. Let me start by saying that I was told I would have my car by a certain date and the date was constantly being changed. It happened 3 times until I finally got my car back. When I finally received it, one tire was protruding out of side of the car while the other was aligned. I didn't realize this until 4 days after and when I went back to the shop to figure out what had happened, they were confused which was odd because it came out of their facility that way. It couldn't have been me because I have barely driven my car the past 4 days. I can't imagine the possible outcomes had I decided to drive faster than usual these past couple days. I'm very stingy when it comes to handing my car over to someone else and in this case- especially when it comes to fixing it. I was not about to leave my car (even though it was in pretty bad shape from getting rear ended) at a repair shop with a bunch of strangers, but I chanced it anyways because I know I cannot drive around with broken bumpers and a paint-scraped rear bumper. Fortunately, after 2-3 weeks, my car came back to me looking just as good as it was before. Craftsmen Auto Body is a good body shop. Don't get me wrong. Their work quality is outstanding. But what I don't like about them is that their services are waaay overpriced. I needed to replace a rear bumper on my Civic. I got quoted 700 ridiculous bucks just to put a new bumper on. So me being me did a little research and found a vendor on eBay who sells bumpers and other car parts, paints them to match your car, and ships it to you all for a mere $260 and it only takes a week to arrive. I just saved myself $440. Are they telling me they're charging $440 just to unscrew a few bolts to take the old one off and put the new on? The paint on my ebay bumper was good professional quality too. I recommend this route to anyone who's in a similar situation as me. Don't let the guys at Craftsmen rip you off. They may play it nice and they won't shove other services in your face but be informed before walking in here. That's just one of the few times I came here to get quoted. I always found cheaper solutions for the same good quality work. read more

I specially addressed the insurance estimate is less than yours, and the response was- "Don't worry! We will deal with the insurance company directly!" Not a word about "We can not release the car without full payment," OR "If you really want your car back you can pay for the difference!" Intentionally not to properly disclose all material facts and pros and cons to your customers, is a poor business practice which lacks of integrity and honesty. Well, what can I say, it's a tough world out there, too much competitions! Being honest upfront might lose some business and make less money; I believe you must have your reasons to choose not to go that route! read more

Our insurance company (Mercury Insurance) provided many options where we could take our car for repair and we immediately requested Craftsman! I just got my 2010 Toyota Corolla back after being involved in a traffic accident on Friday 13, 2012. Yes, I said Friday 13th. The driver tore my car up from the back to the front. I had $7,800 worth of damage and only had to pay my deductible of $500.00. Craftsman kept me informed every step of the way when they found a new problem to when my car would be ready. I received updates every day they had my car and William (the person who worked on my car) and Brad (the manager) as well as Cheyenne all kept be abreast of any changes. They do awesome work and my car looks new. With the extensive damage done to my car that even bent the steel frame and required replacing both bumpers, doors, lights,tire and on and on I can't believe this is the same vehicle. Our experience with Craftsmen couldn't have been better. I backed out of our driveway and crunched the rear bumper of my daughter's car (yep, two for one!) we took our autos to Craftsmen in Cerritos. We were able to follow the repair and paint process of each vehicles with the frequent email/text photos sent by Justin. Replacing and painting the rear bumpers of BOTH our cars - one at a time- took only 4 days total. Dropped off my truck today for repair through Mercury. Asked to have additional clear coat work to be done out of my pocket. The rep said we can do it. Left to get my rental when on the way home I get a call that they won't not can't do the clear coat repair. The manager said NO way, no explanation just NO. I took the rental back and picked up my truck. Never again will I use this shop and they did work on my truck 3 years before on the grill and hood. At that time i had to wait for the work to be rebuffed out because it wasn't inspected right and they lost a cover from my roof rack when they had it cleaned. Another customer the day before complained in front of me about his replacement used seats were worse than what he had after his repair. I should have know better. I've been taking numerous cars to Craftsmen Auto Body for year, I've been happy with the service. Not sure if management has changed but when I brought my car in recently, they gave me the estimate and wanted 50% payment, I gave them my credit card to charge about $1600.+, same as before with no issues. When my car was done, they called me to pick it up, Paola told me I had to pay the remaining $2K+ in cash, they will not take check and if I wanted to pay by credit card, I had to add another $60.+ fees. CASH? who does this kind of business now a day, esp during pandemic, who keeps that much CASH and wanted to touch cash from the bank. I'm not sure if they have changed in management but asking for Cash payment in the large sum of money is fishy to me. Are they trying to avoid paying tax? I am definitely not their new customers, I utilized them at least 4-5 times in the past and they knew that. They have never informed me of such requirement at the beginning nor do they have it in the invoice/contract. This conversation with Paola was before I came & picked up the car, they still have my car so who knows what they would do to my car, will have to see in the next few days. So if you are planning to take your car there, you better ask everything up front...I mean EVERYTHING. Anyway, they just lost a loyal customer! read more

Full disclosure: this review has been in the making for over a year hoping for a positive resolution. My car took almost 8 weeks to repair the rear bumper, tail pipes and rear end structural damage due to a rear end collision. Craftsmen went back and forth with my insurance company over repairs, parts and inspections. In the end, I had to push for them to finish the repairs immediately as I was paying out of pocket for a car rental which cost me over $1200. My insurance company is partly to blame for the delays and will no longer have my business either. In the end, they returned my car and refused to repair a small piece saying it wasn't part of the accident, when I brought the car in with the bumper dragging on the ground right where this piece is. My family and I have used this shop multiple times trying to support local businesses but will no longer do so because of their wrestling matches with insurance companies and dragging their feet on repairs.
