So my neighbors were playing frisbee on the street and, long story short, the frisbee hit my front left fender and surprisingly caused a pretty sizable dent on my 2019 Subaru Outback front fender. After searching a new dent repair business near my work in Anaheim; along with some shops (both mobile/ and b&m) replying back to me they couldn't do it or didn't want to.. He disclosed since the dent is right at the body line, it'd be hard to get it back to the original look. Did not wear a mask while fixing my car. He reported that he had a "medical condition" but only after I asked him to put on a mask. He was very defensive in his reply. I don't care what you do on your free time, but when being paid for a service I think it's important to let the customer know you will not be wearing a mask. Otherwise the work looks OK. Compared with a lot of the local paintless dent repair services here on yelp, gotta say Chuck was the most honest/efficient person to commission for the job. I had a hit and run which left a dent in my rear quarter panel near the edge & paint scuffs on the bumper. He gave me a honest answer to if it can be fixed and gave input on how much it will normally run at a body shop if replaced. Setting up a time was easy and I had to reschedule to another day but he adjusted and came the next day without any issues. At 80mph, apparently a small piece of cardboard as big as a hand can cause a dent. Things have come a long way from the days that hitting stuff on the roads were worth points. 10 days ago a piece of cardboard was kicked up on the freeway and it hit the front part of my black 2013 IS 250's hood. At the time I figured, "ah, it was just cardboard" as it flew up and over my windshield; I wasn't expecting damage. Later that day as I was about to go have lunch, as I approached my car, looking at it head on, I saw what looked like bird poop from 25 feet away. As I got closer, I could see it was a dent, with a scuff mark 2 or 3 inches above it. I've never thought I'd see the day where I could say, "I really wish my car had been bird pooped on". I would have taken bird poop over a dent. The first place I went to look for a Paintless Dent removal person/company was Yelp. I found two operations near me with stellar reviews. One had 83 stellear reviews. Chuck's company had significantly less, but still glowing reviews. I placed my call to the 83 review shop; they would not be able to mobile-service me for the entire week as they were booked. However, if I drove to their shop they would be able to help me on the spot. Sadly I work several cities away and as much as I enjoy sitting in L.A. traffic, I didn't want to add that & lost time to the equation. I then text Chuck some pictures and he called back fairly quickly. He was upfront that based on the pictures, that the dent may not come out if the damage were to be in the section of the hood that is reinforced for the hood latch. A $25 travel fee was quoted in the event the dent would not be removable. I didn't like that, but appreciated the fact that he would be losing time in coming out to see me and also that he was upfront about it. No harm there. The quote for the job was $85 over the phone if it could be done. We agreed on the next day and that Chuck would call/arrive in between his jobs. Because my schedule was flexible the following day since I had taken a day off from work for something else things fell into place. Chuck called the next day in between his jobs as I was on his route to his next job. He was professional & courteous, saw the job and determined that he could get the dent out. He quoted about an hour. I said, have at it, and I went online to fight villains and play super hero. About what seems like 15 minutes later he text me that it was done. Doesn't even look like a dent was there. I was thrilled and gave him $90; mainly because I didn't have exact change; and besides I was happy with the work. Chuck being able to come out the next day to my home was a huge plus to me as it allowed me additional hours to button mash and to troll Yahoo internet comment sections all from the comfort of a milk crate.
