This shop caused multiple areas of damage to my car and I would not return. The damage was never disclosed to me, not when the work was completed, not when I picked up my car, and not when I paid for the repaint job. I only discovered it once I got home. When I confronted the shop owner, Pat, he admitted to the damages but communication from that point on became challenging and more difficult than it needed to be. There were long gaps without his response and at times the tone felt dismissive or unnecessarily tense, which made the situation even more stressful. I've made many attempts to work with Pat to find a fair and reasonable solution. To this day, I'm actually still waiting for a reply to my last message asking again to discuss a reasonable solution. After repeated non-responses and apathetic communication, it became clear that no compromise would be reached. The only option he is willing to offer is the one solution I clearly stated I'm not comfortable with: bringing my car back this same shop that damaged it in the first place. Given the damages my car received from 5 Stars Automotive, my hesitation is understandable. I even tried to negotiate a different solution by providing multiple repair estimates from other reputable auto shops and he responded by calling this practice "dishonest" (very ironic, I know). I'm leaving this review because I believe it's important to be transparent about my experience. My car had some pretty bad scratches and dents on both sides of the car. I went to several other places for an estimate on repairs but found that most places were not quite friendly. I ended up coming here and met with Pat who was very helpful, honest and super friendly. He went above and beyond to fix up my car and now it literally looks brand new (I've driven my car for 3 years now and have about a month left before my lease ends). They put an after-market wing put on my car. I had spent three entire days trying to get it on myself (as we know, many after market products are a real hassle) and I was at a loss on who could help me. I really debated on even putting someone else through the torture of trying to get it on. They are a true body shop so they probably had the right to wave me and my measly wing away, but they did were more than willing and even did it in just a little over an hour. They know what they're doing, they know cars. Everyone there was also very nice and genuinely wanted to help you with your car. My wife and I share just the one car and when the car got into an accident, our insurance company deemed it totaled because the "cost of repair" exceeds their estimated value of the car. I put quotation marks around the cost of repair because the cost can differ based on where you take your car. I first took my car to a collision center the insurance company recommended, and that was a mistake. They tried to make me give up my car so they can sell it to the junkyard. Somehow I stumbled upon Pat on Yelp and looking back, that was such a blessing. First of all, out of all the people on Yelp I contacted, Pat was the first to respond. Then, when everyone else was not wanting to take the risk, Pat talked to me in length about my car, the damage, the photos, and everything else so he can analyzed the situation like this is his own situation. That alone is very impressive and shows his true character as a person. He also explains the repair process and the parts they need very thoroughly. Not that I understand any of it, but it shows he is not hiding from me. Second of all, the cost of repair was a couple thousand less than what the insurance company estimated. Of course, the collision center that works with the insurance company is not working in your best interest. They're working for themselves. Pat is the opposite. Of course, he cares about his business, but you can tell he is fair and considerate of your situation. Lastly, the quality of repair is very good. My car looks brand new and you wouldn't be able to tell if I was in an accident or not. Pat also works on them fairly quickly and I was able to get my car back without spending too much on rentals. Pat is the real MVP here, and by the transitive property, 5 Star Automotive gets 5 stars. read more
