But treating CraigO's as a pizza, pizza and pizza place seems to make sense. * * * Just for the record, they have one of the hardest to read menus in Central Texas. It is a yellow on white on yellow design with some black. I had to stare at the menu long and hard to figure out what they were trying to sell me. My whole family has been coming to Craig O's for many years. Aside from excellent service every time, Craig O's is my favorite place for a yummy pizza. Seriously, their cheese and crust are on a whole other level. I always enjoy the Margherita pizza and the classic Pepperoni pizza, with the added yummies of mushrooms. And I can never not pair my pizzas with the Rasta Pasta Salad. The ranch dressing is delicious. For our sweet tooth, I can't forget the BIG NY cheesecake for dessert. Went by CraigO's to try it out for the first time on Balcones at 8:13pm this sign on the door says open til 9pm but both doors were locked and I could see employees milling about inside. Lame, put a sign on the doors that says why you're closing early. Lame! read more

I came here yesterday with Thing One and another party for lunch. It was my first time at this establishment because as most folks know as a former Sicilian resident, I really do not like going to so-called Italian restaurants that are really not Italian at all. However, with that said, I did not expect this location to offer true Italian food-- and it didn't. Minestrone Soup and Salad- I ordered this menu item. I love Minestrone soup because when done right, it is tasty and rich in fiber, which helps the intestines stay healthy. The minestrone here was made with fusilli. While the addition of fusilli is not the manner in which I am accustomed to having this dish, fusilli works well with any sauce, added to soups, or turned into a salad (so I'll allow it :0) ). The soup was hearty and had a decent flavor. The summer salad was made with blue cheese, walnuts, red onion and tomatoes. I enjoyed the fresh salad as it's hard to beat for simplicity. Calzone- My guest ordered this menu item and added jalapenos to it. My guest was pleased with this item. But, you won't catch me dead ordering something like this, EVER! These turnovers, made with leavened dough originated in Naples and as former Sicilian resident, this is not something that is popular there. It is true what they say.. Sicilians have their own way of doing things which are much different than things done in Rome, Naples, etc. Spaghetti and Meatballs- Thing One ordered this menu item. As a food truck and spaghetti aficionado, he deemed the sauce to be mediocre and the meat balls to be a "good attempt" at an Italian meatball. I sampled a piece of the meatball and could taste the oregano and other spices throughout. Overall, this was an okay meal. It wasn't true Italian but I did not expect it to be. We were in Austin for a Disney auction and we were looking for a place to eat before heading back to San Antonio. Our daughter found this spot. We love a good pizza. We had our 2 corgis with us and asked if we could sit outside with them and we were told that was cool. Lunch special was 1 large pizza for $12.99! Can't beat that. It was a nice day and we didn't mind sitting outside. We got our pizza and it was hot!! All 3 of us agreed that it was one of the best we have had in a while. It was foldable but not too flimsy,perfect number of pepperonis and the sauce had a great flavor. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I was introduced to this place a couple years ago and have been coming for lunch off and on ever since. They have ridiculously economical lunch menu items. I usually get the pizza slice and salad, sometimes I'm hungry enough for the 2 slice special, which still comes in at $10. The caesar salad is pretty big and is good. The pizza slices are a good size. You can whatever toppings you want (yes, they are extra). Their pizza is pretty good though. Always crispy and tasty. Service has always been friendly. They seem to have a pretty stable staff, which I think is typically a good sign. All in all, a great, decently quick lunch spot. Hard to beat at the price. These days I think you're hard pressed to get a combo meal at a horrible fast food place for less. Win win. read more

Oh my god this place is a mess. The employees here are so incompetent it hurts. I called to place an order (literally garlic bread) that I needed quickly and was calling 15 min out so they would have time. The first time I called they answered quickly and it was a guy with an accent but not a super strong one. I told him I wanted to place a pickup order and he told me to hold on and had a whole English conversation behind the phone with someone else about me and then hung up. So naturally I call back and they quite literally ignored my calls 5 times. Once I finally got ahold of them some lady comes on to tell me she stepped away and left the first man alone who speaks no English. So who was he having an English conversation with? Lady had an attitude with me because I told her I speak Spanish and he could've told me he struggled with English. Food is too mediocre to deal with those idiots. read more

My review is based on delivery of 2 pizzas plus brownie. 1 star - ease of ordering and ok delivery time 1 star - price for pizza on par with other pizzerias 1 star - bomb food that smelled and tasted delicious 1 star - would definitely order again 1 star - would definitely recommend = 5 stars Now for the cons: - delivery time: it took an hour from order to delivery, but they were not late and the pizzas were still warm. Once I saw the pizza crust, I understood that because it was thin it would take a bit longer to cook and not burn. So it was probably closer to 30-40 min cook time for back to back pizzas and then 20 for the delivery person. So when you're starving, an hour wait is a long time but understand that they have to get a few pizzas together for the delivery driver to make a run. Again, an hour is within reason. - price: while I thought the pizzas were well priced the brownie was $6 for single serving. the brownie was delicious! and had a caramel ganache *chefs kiss* but I think for the size it should have been closer to $3.99 maybe even $4.99. That's literally the only two downsides. I wish I'd gotten a photo but was too hungry to remember while it was fresh. read more

For over two years, I'm am always treated sub-par at the location on Balcones Drive, and as a result, I don't go there much anymore. My son wanted the pizza rolls this evening and I gave it another try. The lady/manager was so rude and short when I asked her a simple question, and it went DOWNHILL from there. Horrible! Life changing pepperoni rolls. I consider myself a pepperoni roll connoisseur, and CraigOs has the best I've ever tried. Always fresh out of the oven, perfectly chewy/flaky dough, the ideal ratio of pepperoni to cheese, and topped with the right amount of spices. Seriously awesome pizza which is hard to find in Austin. So yummy, clearly made with high quality ingredients, no cheap cheese like many of the chains, homemade sauce and real deal veggies. This used to be our regular when we lived nearby but hadn't been there in a while since we moved out of town.. just went back on a whim and bam!... CraigO's Pizza has an extensive menu, from passage, pasta, salads, wraps, sub sandwiches, desserts, and more (wines and beers, too). You order at the register as soon as you walk as you walk in. Very friendly, chill workers that match the relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant. There are 4 big-screen T.V.s and music playing. Throw some tables together for a crowd. I had the brisket pizza (very Texan of me), and it was great! Spicy and BBQ deliciousness. It has brisket, red onion, jalapeño, cilantro (after it is cooked) and mozzarella cheese with a tasty BBQ sauce. The pepperoni rolls rival those famous pepperoni rolls from Double Dave's. I ordered delivery from the Balcones location. My pizza pies were delivered unsliced. Pizza was okay nothing special, a little on the greasy side and wasn't very hot. Also, I did not get the 2 sides of ranch that I ordered. However delivery was fast (about 30 mins). The price is on par with other pizza joints like Home Slice, which I regret straying from. With all the options you have around town for pizza, you probably want to avoid this place. read more

]Well, dang. I still haven't had pizza from here and I'm dying to try it. This restaurant sits across the parking lot from my new home away from home /= work! I can tell you this however, customer service is very good here. How would I know that without trying the pizza?? Here's the story. I started working full-time recently and and egan learning the Team and all the little innuendos that people bring with them. What better way to do that then to bring some food in and sit around a big table together? So... it was late morning when I decided I wanted to do this for lunch. That day..! There was really no where else in the area that was willing to give me the time of day when I was hoping to obtain an order relatively quickly, like within 2 hours. I decided to call Craig O's Pizza and Pasta as I was able to see that property as I was driving into the building every day. I spoke with the manager he was very nice and immediately asked me what I was looking for instead of just saying they couldn't do it. I explained that I was wanting to bring in something easy to eat for my team. He advised that they have sandwiches and salads in addition to their Pizza and Pasta and that he thought he could make some Hoagies up for me and cut them and put them on a platter. That was a perfect idea, and that is what I opted for. They even offered to deliver! So, I did have a meeting with members of our team and we were able to discuss the current work environment and where we plan to go with providing the great care and services desired. The sandwiches arrived within an hour as promised and we continued meeting while happily munching on delicious deli meat, quality sandwiches. Everyone enjoyed it and I am very grateful. I do intend to get over there for pizza with the hubby some evening after work and will update my review Once I do! Absolutely terrible in every way. They use frozen pizza crusts but still charge $20+ a pie. Don't expect any Ricotta in your calzone. If you order the chicken or the meatballs, expect them to taste like overcooked dried sawdust. Eating pizza from Craig O's is like throwing a two year old frozen Digiorno pie in the oven and then intentionally ruining it with cheap, crappy ingredients. Seriously who puts red onions on a pizza? Went to CraigO's at lunch and did not have to wait to order my food. They have a few options for lunch if you are not wanting a full pizza. I got two slices and a side salad. It was pretty good. The slices come as either cheese or pepperoni and you pay just 30 cents for an additional topping. Going back, I will want to try the BBQ chicken pizza.
