Overall, this place was very good. The white pizza was excellent. The sausage pizza was just ok. I enjoyed the penne vodka pizza and chicken cheesecake with bacon, fries, and cheddar cheese pizza. I liked the crispy crust. The atmosphere inside is very colorful and pleasant. The service was excellent and the guy taking our order was friendly. We ate there inside. I asked for pepper sprinkles and it was so packed, the container wouldn't shake them out. But they seemed fresh. They have outdoor seating available at the side. There are 2 parking lots. The one you pull into with the sign is the employee parking lot. We accidentally pulled in here and had to walk all the way around the building to get to the entrance. read more

We came here for Dinner on I believe the 8th 0f may 2025. in a Word. Bad! First off, when we came in the Place was Freezing Cold. it was Cold Outside. Inside was Freezing! We came around 8:00. I guess at 7:30 they Probably turn the Air down to "Meat Locker" settings to get everyone to Leave! So We get waited on. We ordered The Shrimp Cocktail. waiting waiting. So server comes over and takes the rest of our order. Fine. soon after she Brings The salads over. now I don't know about you, but I like (and the Proper way to serve) is The Appetizer comes out First. then the salad. then the Main Course. So we just barley started our salads when The appetizer comes out. Absolutely Ridiculous! Okay, okay. not a fine dinning Place, But still!! So then our Dinner comes. My friend ordered the "Chicken francese, it was the Weirdest looking chicken I have ever seen!! this was not chicken breast. it looked Like "Breaded Chicken feet"! was Horrible! I had The old stand buy. Eggplant Parm. Which was old school Eggplant Parm. Eggplant in an Oval dish with melted Parmesan on top. Wasn't bad. not much Flavor to it. Plus I had just worked out before coming here. so I was not all that Hungry to begin with. The sauce Tasted like Ragu or Canned sauce. Here though is the worse part! They Charge you 3.95% to use your Credit Card. Which is Illegal!! You cannot Charge More than the Credit card company charges them to process the Charge. (New Jersey State law) The Max they should be Charging is 3% I did some research (i haven't called the Credit Card Company up yet) from my research though. they most likely charge Dusal's 2-3% Once I get confirmation From the CC company. I am going to file a Complaint with the New Jersey Consumer Affairs Bureau. this is out and Out Fleecing the Customer and just plain greed! They need to Change this law. making it illegal to Charge Customers for using their Credit card. you want to charge 1 or 2% Transaction fee. Fine. Don't rip us off. hopefully there will be a "Class Action" lawsuit against business's that Over Charge like this. though I doubt it. there is no money in it for Lawyers, so forget about that. One of the best places in the area that is still managed by the Italian families and they serve flavorful old school Italian food. The quantity is always family size for the entrees. The menu is broad but I'd prefer some modern twists and some more variety but whatever is available is super tasty. They are very popular for their pizzas too. I believe they also have a pre fix dinner menu for $16-18 which is available till 6pm. I may be wrong so please check with the restaurant before hand if you want to try that or else just share your food. An order of pasta will fill 2 adults and a child if you have taken an appetizer. We ordered the assorted hot antipasto ( hot appetizer plate) and that was awesome. Forgot to mention of the free fresh bread and butter. I am giving this restaurant 1-star due to the horrible service I received. I had a coupon for Dusal's (see attached) and was excited to try them for the first time. I called and placed an order during lunch time of a children's penne vodka and a chicken Caesar salad. When I presented the employee with my activated coupon, he said I could not use it. He then took my phone and read the fine print. He told me the coupon could only be used on entrees and that a children's penne vodka did not count. What???? Entree: (noun) "the main course of a meal." Then, he tells me that this coupon could only be used for dine-in orders. How was I suppose to know that when I did not active my coupon (which expires after a set amount of time) until arriving at the restaurant?? I was frustrated but did not continue going back and forth with the employee. I should've walked out right then and there and not taken the food at all, but I paid anyway and left. The food was not anything special and definitely was not worth the headache. The chicken for the Caesar salad didn't come in the salad; so we had to create the salad with the pieces of chicken they provided in aluminum foil. The last 4-5 times here was all good. Food...very good. Service...ok. Tonight...not so much. My wife and thought the food tasted "funny". We couldn't nail it down. Just a funny taste that we both noticed at the same time. (We had different entries, but the same pasta sauce and cheese). We ate our dinners (took half home for next day lunch/dinner) ....so it was good, but "off". Also, when asked the waitress if the chef or anything changed, she said no, and was unapologetic at the less then usually very good meals we have had here. I used to go to Dusal's very often when I lived in NJ. I never wrote a review because it was so long ago that Yelp wasn't even invented. Now that I just visit, I don't get the chance to visit many restaurants, and except for chains, the pickings are slim. So on a recent visit, my family and I decided to try Dusal's, for the first time in many years. My recollection was that it was always okay, nothing fancy or gourmet, but passable. Maybe I'm just longing for the days before I moved to Las Vegas, where every Italian restaurant is out to be trendier than the one before (and I'm talking the 'burbs, not the Strip), with prices that go along with it, but I really, really enjoyed Dusal's. It's not fancy, and that felt good. The service was excellent, the food was plentiful and delicious, and the prices were great. Of course, I forgot that NJ's antiquated liquor laws meant that I had to BMOB, and what's an Italian meal without wine? Nevertheless, it was a great meal, and I look forward to returning on my next trip back east, which will be soon. read more

I hesitated to write this review because I love supporting small businesses and hate when I have to write a bad review about them. With that being said, I do like to go to a place atleast 3 times before I write a bad review because I understand that some days are off-days. Judging by other reviews that ive read that have had a similar issue to mine, and my 4th visit to this place today, I feel confident about writing my review. Im not sure if the people that work here are just unhappy or if its a race thing, but every single time ive gone into this restaurant ive gotten dirty looks, ignored, or just plain rude service. Im naturally a nice and respectful person and everytime ive come here ive STILL gotten the same nasty attitude from whoever is working at the moment. Today was the last straw for me; I went to pick up my order and I was not greeted (not that I ever am), one of the men behind the counter just put my food on the counter and said nothing to me. I asked if it was (my name)'s food and he just nodded his head. Literally no words were exchanged. It was disgustingly rude. I took my food and walked out. I will never step foot in this establishment again and I will make sure to let my local neighbors aware as well. read more

RIPPED OFF AT DUSAL'S: My group (4 people) missed the early bird special by 5 minutes. My friend and I decided to share a meatball parm hero that cost $11.00. The two of us were served a half of hero on a plate. The bill arrived and we noticed that we were charged $5.00 extra for sharing a plate. We called the server over about the additional cost who said to us, "Well, it says so in the menu." First of all she never said anything to us whatsoever when she took our order, even though she knew about it. Their menu is extensive and I am sure their sharing charge is in small print somewhere. This wasn't an entree we were sharing and divided up but a hero that had to be cut in half. I asked her why she didn't place the entire hero on one plate. Then I could have picked up the other half and placed it on a napkin. Of course, no reply. I then asked to speak to the boss. He did not show up at our table and she reiterated again, "He said, it is in the menu." That $5.00 turned out to be 50% more for our order. I reluctantly paid the $2.50 rip off and decided to use her tip for the additional cost! I only gave 1 star because I had to. read more

We've been ordering from Dusal's for many years. (Going on 30+) My grandmother is quite picky, especially about her eggplant. She will only order Eggplant Parm (sandwich and dinner) from Dusal's. They have a very good Antipasto Salad, their calzones are always great and their pasta dishes are very good, as well. Family favorites are the Shrimp Fra Diavolo, Shrimp Scampi, anything Alfredo, eggplant parm. Overall, one of the better options in Kendall Park/Franklin Park. read more

This was a nice small Italian restaurant. The place was packed and the service was still very good except for the water glasses being refilled. The food also came out in a timely matter. They revamped the menu I believe and there were lots of options to choose from. The hot antipasto was ordered for an appetizer. The dish consisted of eggplant rollatini, shrimp, roasted peppers, mussels, mushrooms, and baked clams. It just seemed the food was thrown on the plate without much preparation. My favorite part of the appetizer was the eggplant rollatini. The eggplant was cooked just right and there was more than enough cheese. The shrimp in the marinara sauce was good, perfectly cooked. The mussels were okay. We just received a poor set of mussels. They were relatively small. I just did not like the baked clams. I am not a fan of oreganato to begin with, but these were just too plain. There was nothing thrilling about the mushrooms, but nothing wrong with them either. For an entrée, I ordered the Veal Mediterrano. I am 99% sure that was the name of this entrée. It also came with a side salad. It was a typical house salad. They could have filled the plate more, but that was my only complaint regarding the salad. The dish contained red peppers, mushrooms, black and Kalamata olives in a Marsala sauce. It sat on a bed of penne pasta. The portion size was great. The flavors really blended well together. There was nothing about this dish I did not like. I was extremely pleased with my choice here. For dessert, tartufo was ordered, which Dusal's now calls "Bomba." They actually cut the shell in half and put on two separate plates because we informed the waitress the dessert was being shared. Dusal's is located along the busy local route 27. They have a fairly large parking lot, so parking shouldn't be an issue. The staff is friendly and they have ample indoor seating in what I would describe as a cozy, family dining atmosphere. Our party ordered a Brooklyn pie, a plain pie, and a penne vodka pie. The Brooklyn features a spicy and savory sauce that is VERY good. The fresh cheese and fresh basil, together with the great sauce, create a very good overall slice. There is some cheese slide that occurs though, so be wary. The plain has a buttery, salty cheese that tastes great with the accompanying sweetness of the sauce. The crust is pleasantly fluffy. The penne vodka slice is filling and overflowing with cheesy goodness. I think it could benefit from more sauce, but overall it's a solid pick. This spot puts out some good pizza and I definitely recommend it. read more

As a native New Yorker, I was so happy to find our new local pizza place in Kendall Park was up to standards! Texture, flavor, convenience, variety, everything you need! The dining room itself is so cute and cozy. A lovely scene of Italy painted on the wall with fancy tablecloths and china set up for a lovely evening out, if you're looking for a bit more classy. We have met the same server several times now, who gladly shared the history of the restaurant and spoke with our father in law in Italian! It made his day to have a piece of home here in our town. One Star is way too much praise for these Bigots! I'm definitely not one to play the race card but my experiences at this poor excuse for Italian cuisine need to be documented. I'm an upstanding citizen and hold my self to a certain standard with respect to my principles of conduct. So I was blown away by the treatment that I received from an establishment that relies on it's patrons to stay open.. especially on the tail end of a global pandemic. I patronized "Dusal's" 3 separate times since I moved back to the South Brunswick Area and I have to say, each experience was worse than the previous one. Ending with a Coup de Gras that definitely assured I'd never return to this poorly ran establishment. Each of the 3 times that I ordered from Dusal's, I received dirty and uninviting looks upon picking up my order. The fact that I even returned after the first experience is a testament to my self evaluation and wanting to be sure that I wasn't making something out of nothing. But behold.. the last and final time that I ordered, I stopped at Stop and Shop prior to picking up my order and received cash back from there. I then took the same bill that I was given from Stop and Shop to Dusal's to pay for my order. After handing the bill to who I perceive to be the owner or manager, he looks at me condescendingly and then begins to scrutinize the bill. He then throws the bill back at me and says it's fake. I tried to explain to him that I got the bill from Stop and Shop but he dismissed me and said "Take it Back!!" One of his employees took another look at the bill and ran it through a device before informing him that it's real but it's just an old bill. Had he been impartial and taken the time to examine the bill, he would have realized it was a good bill. And he wouldn't have lost a customer. This situation could have easily lead to a bigger situation and It all stemmed from what I am absolutely sure was deep routed hate. I don't even like driving past this place anymore. Plus the pizza is sub-par. If you're black or any other race and you're fed up with bigotry, pre-judgement, or even if you're just in the mood for good Italian food. We have been getting Dusals for a couple weeks now for work lunches. I wanted to make sure it wasn't a fluke before i reviewed. The pizza is AMAZING! Huge pizzas with perfect flavor. And now after 42 years on this earth i can say i found the BEST cheesesteak there is. Its at Dusals. Loaded with meat and cheese and a very fair price, they clearly aren't trying to get rich off cheesteaks (like every place in philly that's 15$ for no meat on the bread) Just amazing food at great prices!
