This is your standard breakfast place with all the things you'd expect-eggs, waffles, pancakes, omelets. Service was friendly and quick. We timed it so we didn't have a big wait but would definitely recommend going before 9 am on the weekend as we did. When we left around 10 it was packed with folks lined up for seating. Big thank you to Cranston dinner for seating a ten top an hour or so before closing. We called another place that will remain nameless and they wouldn't take us. Good thing anyway because the hospitality was great. Our waitress was very accommodating as well with us asking to split the check, so thank you. All the food came out in a timely manner and everything was great. It's so nice visiting places with reasonable prices and good portions. We're out of towners looking for an affordable place for breakfast. Found this diner on Yelp. It looked dark from the outside but they were open. Jodi was our waitress and was friendly. Hubby ordered the special which was eggs, bacon, potatoes and pancakes. I ordered the Irish omelette, which is corned beef hash with provolone in an omelette. I think I was served Swiss cheese though cause it definitely didn't taste like provolone, not a big deal because It was a huge portion and ended up taking half of it home. White bread wasn't available, so I got sourdough which was just as good but the coffee was AWFUL. It was very, very light, almost transparent, as if it was brewed with not enough coffee grounds. The only reason why they are getting a one star is because they actually took the time to call and say they had onions and food that I have a food allergy for but after that, their service went downhill, I have originally ordered 2 egg breakfast with meat and I only got 1. They forgot my breakfast. Got my sons, but forgot mine. And then when I call the restaurant, they're like, well, if you come in, we can make it for you and then we can hand it to you other than that, there's nothing we can do for you. So Cranston diner, left me with no breakfast for the morning and I just had surgery, and the only thing grubhub would do is refund your money. Which takes 3 to 5 business days. The staff here seems to be doing the best they can, but the manager is not setting them up for success. We came in for breakfast in a Sunday and were seated right away. We were quickly greeted by a friendly server who took our drink orders and brought them to us right away. We ordered food, but then our server and one of the other two servers went and started packing delivery and takeout orders. In the hour we were there, the food never came and nobody came to check on us. We only saw two tables in the packed restaurant get their food the whole time - the only other food that came out of the kitchen was for delivery and takeout orders. We decided to pay for our drinks and leave. The server politely apologized and explained that they were down a cook today. If you're short staffed, you have options. You could block off a section of seating, stop taking so many delivery orders, or revise wait times for takeout/delivery. You could at least warn dine-in customers of how long it would take for their food to be ready. read more

Think this is a very solid breakfast place Restaurant is sneaky big. So if yiu have kids, perfect diner to take them. It actually opens up when you walk in to a large restaurant. I ordered this through door dash it got here very quickly & still hot, which I was happy about. I ordered "The Cranston Special" scrambled eggs, home fries, 2 sausage links, 2 pieces of bacon, 4 pieces of toast and 2 fat pancakes. The eggs and pancakes were fine, the home fries weren't seasoned (possibly at all) so I think the breakfast lacked a little bit. Bacon wasnt crispy as much as it was thin, it's an okay breakfast. I don't have any "serious" complaints I'd be willing to try something else from here but I think the breakfast could use a little "pizzazz" aka seasoning. Maybe some seasoned home fries and this is better? Wasn't too crazy about the portion sizes but I don't typically measure portions when I'm out. read more

I had lunch from the Cranston Diner, hit the spot! I tried the Angus burger club with lettuce, tomato, mayo and BACON! The angus burger was huge, the bacon was crunchy and the fries were cooked just right, I cant believe I ate the whole thing! I have also had their French toast too, amazing! If you are in Cranston and want some quality food, you must try this place! I was really optimistic about this diner - what a let down. My omelet was made incorrectly and instead of offering to quickly have it remade, I was informed it would be over 20minutes and was then accused of failing to inform them of a food allergy. Anyone with a food allergy knows you don't 'fail to inform them' - you simply were not heard correctly when ordering. No big deal - simply go speak to the chef and ask to have them remake it asap. My family ordered this through Ubereats for breakfast. Food was surprisingly still hot despite the long delivery. We got our order and my husbands food was completely missing - we called the restaurant and apparently his entire order wasn't on the slip but on our receipt, which didn't make sense to us since it was put through Ubereats and it gets sent right to the restaurant. I was looking for an all day breakfast diner and found Miss Cranston Diner. It is in the middle of a strip mall and doesn't look like much from the outside but once you walk in, you can tell immediately it is a favored local diner. Very clean inside and a nice little diner atmosphere. The waitresses were very friendly and the service was quick. The menu has a lot of different things that are unusual. I got a pepperoni and cheese omelet and a coffee milk (which is a Providence thing) and it was very good. The portions are huge and I could not finish my breakfast. As an added benefit, they have gluten free bread and pancakes. I will go there again. I just wish they didn't close at 3pm. read more

the one good thing about this place was i was sat right away. our waitress didn't seem to pay much attention to us. first told us the toaster was broken and then asked if i wanted an english muffin or bagel with my omelet. not sure how you can toast a bagel if the toaster is broken. i saw a whole cart of bread come in and tried to get my waitress's attention to tell her i wanted to get white toast instead of a bagel. it took 10 minutes to get someone's attention. and it wasn't even our waitress. she also dropped the check while my friend and i were still eating. i'm a waitress myself so i know what to do and what not to do. my waitress was jodi. she didn't seem very pleasant. read more

I posted my first review of this place several months ago. My wife and I have been out of town and now that we are back this was one of the first places we went to eat. I am happy to report that nothing has changed. The food is still excellent and the service is friendly and great. My favorite is the Shepherds Pie. My wife loves the salads. For breakfast she loves the various omelettes and I like anything that has their homemade corned beef hash in it! I saw a couple of the negative reviews left by other posters and it's almost like they went to a different place. In our many visithere we have never experienced anything like was described. The food always comes out steaming hot and well made and tastes delicious and the service has been efficient, prompt and friendly. What more can you ask of a restaurant? read more

This restaurant is horrible. I went there for breakfast this past Sunday on a recommendation of a friend. Where should I start. There was about 3 tables that had people in them. I had to find an employee to see if we had to wait to be seated or seat ourselves. Employees were counting money, talking amongst them selves doing everything expect paying attention to customers that were waiting. They need to get a sign like most restaurants saying to seat you self. The cleanliness was bad. Dirty tables, floor was a mess. I could see if they were busy but the place was dead. Instead of talking CLEAN. The food was horrible. Burnt toast, under cooked home fries, runny eggs/omelettes. Everything about this place was just bad. Tried it once. NEVER AGAIN. Solid choice! We came late on a weekend after the rush with a toddler. The service was fast, the chicken vegetable soup hot and tastes homemade. Don't judge the picture, I inhaled half the soup before I thought to give a review. We almost didn't come because of the three star average but it's not what we see here with food and service. Came in at 7 am. I was the 2nd person in the building.. the one waitress wasn't here yet , the two of us sat at the counter and waited. She comes in , gives me a menu and I order.. from that point I waited literally 25 mins for my breakfast. I remind u there are only 2 people in the building and I still wait 25 mins. No silverware out for me ready , no glass of water no nothing. Hollandaise sauce definitely came out of a can, loaded with sodium. I came here once before and didn't review them because I wanted to give them a second chance, first visit wasn't so hot either. Cooking the back definitely has no Talent service in front of mediocre at best.
