My wife and I have enjoyed our second visit in a month to our new favorite breakfast place! Staff is very friendly. They were all wearing Jefferson Diner t-shirts of different colors. We came in at about 11:10 am as they were probably at about 2/3 capacity the last hour before shutting down for their 2 week vacation period. It took some time to get our breakfast once the order was placed but not an unreasonable amount of time. Plus the atmosphere was relaxing. We sat at the counter as all the booths were full. And I have to admit, eating at the countertop was relaxing. I ordered the JD muffin which is a grilled English muffin with bacon and fried egg for ~$5.95. The outside of the muffin was soft compared to the crisp inside. It was deliciously tasteful with crispy grilled bacon and egg. Much more tasteful than those egg muffins that one can purchase elsewhere at those widespread coffee shops. My partner had a #7 with a side of bacon including 2 eggs scrambled, 2 bacon slices, home fries, 2 pieces of toast and 2 thick tasty plain pancakes of which I had one. I don't usually have plain pancakes but these were very tasty and fluffy. Both of our coffees, hot and iced, came with free refills. We wished the staff a great vacation and left, knowing that this is our new "goto" breakfast restaurant. read more

Nice little diner. We went for a late breakfast but by the time we arrived it was lunch time! Luckily I could still get breakfast while my SO got lunch. Win-win. Seat yourself at the counter or in one of the 6 booths. Daily specials are posted both ends of the counter. Menus are on the table. A waitress came right over with napkins and flatware and took a drink order. Coffee, tea, soda, water, etc. Half & half is on the table along with salt & pepper. Breakfast includes omlettes, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches and egg breakfasts. I chose the #6 eggs with corned beef hash, breakfast potatoes and toast. I asked if the hash was house made and told yes. Based on my experience with canned corned beef, I'm thinking their 'Helen's heavenly hash' is very similar. The eggs were cooked very well. The potatoes tasty. Toast comes buttered. There are plenty of sandwich options on the lunch menu with or without fries. My SO chose a fully loaded Philly cheese steak. It's a good size sandwich and I am told it's tasty. The fries are crispy outside, fluffy inside. Everything was served nice and hot. Our server was new and she did a good job. A small ladies room is inside at the end of the counter while a men's room is outside. Feels like a diner this small could have two unisex restrooms instead of making customers go outside in the cold. Plenty of parking in their private lot. Sadly, not good I love old diners but the food has to be good. There is no use going to the greasy spoon, if the spoon is dirty. The staff is friendly and hard working. We are always looking for small mom and pop restaurants to support and were excited to find Jefferson Diner. It's a small building with limited booths and counter seating but old school and quaint. We sat at the counter and were happy we did. Kelly, the original owners daughter was cooking and her staff was great. It's traditional diner food and our meal was great. Stopped in to the Jefferson Diner in Warwick on a cold wet rainy icy miserable day. Son2 had a flat and while we waited for AAA we indulged at a fine example of a classic diner. Breakfast for Son2 the 2 egg home fries toast special. Solid. got the job done under $5. Coffee? Check. I went with two grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato and bacon plus a cup of their corn chowder. Perfect bad weather combo. Food was hot and very tasty. Several diners were having the shepherd's pie and i was very tempted to pull a classic fat guy and order it to go (it looked THAT good) but i resisted. Next time. I was staying at La Quinta Hotel at the top of Jefferson Blvd and was looking for a place to pick up food. I looked here on Yelp for recommendations and saw that I could walk to the diner in 15 minutes. Fortunately, I had missed the breakfast rush so I was able to get immediate attention. I ordered corned beef hash (crispy), home fries and scrambled eggs. The entire staff was so welcoming and so friendly (I met Jay, Chuck (ask to see his tattoo of Chucky) and Jenny, who insisted on driving me back to the hotel because they didn't want me walking back! Today I had an outstanding experience here! I was traveling on business and when I got up and ready in my hotel this morning, the restaurant was already closed. I looked on Yelp for a good place for breakfast and found this diner. When I walked in, the whole staff and patrons were singing Happy Birthday to a guest. I could tell immediately that I was in the right place. I was greeted with "sit anywhere you'd like". Dining alone, I sat in a booth and was immediately taken care of. I ordered coffee and an omelette (delicious!). I pulled out my laptop and began to work. Time got away from me and before I knew it I was there for a few hours. I was continuously being refilled with coffee and impeccable service. I paid my bill and left a generous tip. Still, in continued to work. After a while, what I think was the owner, came up to me and politely asked if I would give up the booth to turn the table for the staff. I immediately realized how much time I had been there and without question agreed. I moved to the counter where I continued to finish my work. I was blown away by how the place continued to pack them in and stayed busy on a Tuesday in between breakfast and lunch hours. This place is a gem of an establishment. The staff clearly cares about their patrons and local customers. I had to leave an additional gratuity just for taking up a seat at the counter for a while. These gals bust their a$$ and didn't stop the whole time I was there. When back in town, I will absolutely come back...and try not to take too long in booth. Get your local breakfast here. Really people?! A packed Diner on a weekday morning can't be all that bad! An interesting observation is that the demographics of the people that filled this place on a weekday morning resemble the demographics at a hospital's geriatric ward and therefore.....no Yelp reviews from the real regulars. So.....mostly likely you will never here their opinions on here because they don't do Yelp or go on the internet or anything that us young folk do to spread the word about this place. Got the #8 "Too good to be true" poached eggs on cornbread breakfast special. Wow O wow! Another awesome spin on the Eggs Benedict. There was no hollandaise sauce and the corn bread was sweet and a bit crispy. You also got a good helping of the home fries, and I decided that I wanted a side of ham. It was absolutely delicious! Service was a bit slow, but I was definitely there during their peak and could tell they were moving as fast as they can cook up the food. they have more customers than they do capacity to serve them, so if you are in a hurry, not a good choice during peak hours. This is a take your time and sip your coffee type of a place. So I got there about 1000 and it was packed....I had to sit on the counter. By 1130, the lunch crowd started pouring in and once again it was packed....which leads me to think that lunch is pretty damn good too. This is definitely a local favorite. Me: eggs (ordered over medium served over easy), bacon (expected crispy served fried so much that it was tasteless), home fries (can't go wrong here right? Wrong it can be squares of tasteless smooshies colored reddish, which for a split second thought was some type of seasoning...once again wrong), french toast (expected crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, served just all mushy and isn't there supposed to be cinnamon on it??} & the surprise was the white toast that I had no idea I was getting...especially when I would have so enjoyed rye instead (thanks for not giving me a choice) I won't even bother to describe what hubby had because to him if it isn't hairy or moldy (tho sometimes he has eatin moldy stuff) he will just eat whatever is.put in front of him.
