Craven Crawfish is a GEM on the East side of Houston! Family-owned and operated, it stands on Robert E. Lee RdI was eager to try their signature crawfish and boy was I in for a treat! Picked up 1 pound of the crawfish and jumbo shrimp and I will definitely be back. They offer great outdoor seating as well as a shack where you can enjoy their mounted wide screen TV. Makes you feel like you're at home!

I'm extremely sad to write this post. I thought I found my spot and was sadly mistaken. I brought $51 worth of food and only ate two corn. IDK what's going on but I don't have that type of money to waste. The bbq was horrid. I got ribs, brisket and sausage. They forgot my sides and again it wasn't edible. I'm extremely confused as to why the ribs didn't have bones in it and the brisket looked left over from the day before. The wings looked like microwaveable wings in a TV dinner soaked in grease. The crawfish the $7 pd had no seasoning. I'm hoping this was just an off day but man it was a totally waste of money.

Now I'm really mad at myself for not stopping by this place sooner. These crawfish were BIG, nicely priced, and very favorable. I had to leave and go get my husband some. To think I've been traveling all the way to the Southside and this jewel was right down the street. You all are going to remember me before crawfish season ends. ( Nacole)

Found this little gem accidentally when trying to find another crawfish spot but I'm glad I did. It's different Louisiana style crawfish flavor that I've ever tasted. They have regular Louisiana style and there garlic butter flavor was amazing. It was 7.99 a pound and the sizes where decent for this time of the year. There staff was super nice and helpful. It's also byob!

Drove from Tomball to try this place and I wasn't disappointed! Maybe the best crawfish, boudin and sausage I've had. The ladies serving us were awesome and always checking on us making sure we had everything we needed! I would recommend this place to everyone, try the caven spicy crawfish and boudin!

Ask the Community - Craven Crawfish

    Do they take debit?

Yes, they are officially finished with crawfish for the season. But they do offer a variety of other dishes.

Do they have snow crab legs?

No, just crawfish/shrimp, sausage, corn, and potatoes. There is also another vendor on location that sales barbecue, and potatoes.

They have the traditional cajun flavor but for me the winner is the craven flavor.

A 2-year Michellin star BBQ joint was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. My friends and I got there around 10am and were lucky enough to grab a number. The number secures your spot in line but don't worry if you show up and they run out, there's a spot on the porch where the non-number line starts. We ordered moist brisket, garlic sausage, and the beef rib. For sides, we went with mac and cheese and beans. Everything was superb! The brisket melted in your mouth, no knife needed. The sausage had a nice snap to it and get great flavor. The bark on the beef rib was *chef's kiss*. The mac and cheese was creamy while the beans had a nice sweet and tangy flavor. The service is also great! While we were eating, staff would regularly check all of the tables to check if anyone needed anything. The staff taking our order also chatted with us about other BBQ spots we've been to. Everything was such a great experience and the quality of the food is 100/10!

Killen's never disappoints…read more Their beef ribs were just short of amazing. Juicy, succulent, tender. For a giant piece of meat on the bone, they worked wonders. You can ask to see the piece of rib before they cut it for you and they will happily oblige (patrons behind you might not be so thrilled with that move, but they'll live). Sides were excellent as were the mashed potatoes with white gravy on the side, green beans that were just tender enough, but also a bit crunchy. Perfect. They were seasoned with pork, so if that's not your thing, you might want to skip it. We also ordered their shareable onion rings, easily enough for three people that were huge, hot, and crispy. Let's get this out of the way, some of their prices are a little up there, but if you're anything like me, and don't frequent BBQ places often, it's a rare but enjoyable treat. Sometimes you have to splurge and live a little. Also, they have their regular sauce on tables, but you now have to ask the cashier for their sublime coffee BBQ sauce. Don't be shy, ask. It's worth it. Oh, pro tip: If you want beef ribs, the 'plate' is actually cheaper and a better deal than 'by the pound', so save a little money and get two sides.

It was like a…read moretourisy bbq spot because they had like a tiny little gift shop like spot where you can buy trinkets or souvenirs. They have sandwiches and tacos. The best thing there is probably the brisket though. It's moist and fatty and easy to eat. The ends weren't hard, charred, or chewy. I don't think there was like seasoning or flavor was heavy but the quality of the meat was delicious. The sides weren't the best or even best selection. Just the basic corn bread, steamed okra, green beans, and a few others. They had like garnishes at the condiment bar. They have sauces like coffee bbq, hot sauce, habernaro, and bbq sauce.. the bbq sauce is the best. The coffee bbq sauce literally taste like espresso and was weird. The habernaro sauce was just straight medium spicy but no extra flavor or sweetness to it. The hot sauce is more like Louisiana or Tabasco type of hot sauces. The service was nice at the bar and counter.

I love Texas BBQ so I've been to all the Austin, Dallas, and Houston spots especially on Texas Monthly. Brisket was dry, chicken was brined for a little too long and gave a tire texture. Potato salad was too wet, too fatty, and didn't provide the acidity to contrast the fat. The sausage was decent, I give 4/5 stars. It was thick, juicy, and was similar to other places such as Truth, Corkscrew, Terry Black's, etc. The elotes was also too acidic for my liking and the cheese on top didn't mix well with the dish. Finally, the brisket was just ok. I must've gotten a lean piece because it had the texture of chicken thighs. The bark wasn't flavorful or smoky. Barbecue sauce was what I expected. Worchestchire, ketchup, and brown sugar elements make up for an average BBQ spot. Overall, I would come back and order 10 of the brisket egg rolls and call it a meal.
