Placed an in-person to-go order for catfish dinner. Took it home as soon as it came out of the kitchen. Live 15 minutes away. Opened the food to be knocked over by smell of burnt grease. The greasy catfish was either a day old and microwaved or cooked in week-old oil. Opened the container of slaw--either someone had already eaten out of it or someone decided to put one teaspoon of slaw in it. Drove 15 minutes back to the restaurant and asked for the manager. Was left standing at the to-go register for 10 minutes. The cashier said she would go find the person again but I walked to front instead. Person who identified as the "manager" was chit-chatting with the hostesses. I asked for my money back for the "slop that was served to me." I opened the container to show her and asked if she would eat any of that. Was then told by her that I am "being rude" and that she "didn't care about eating coleslaw" so it wasn't a big deal to her. She repeatedly told me how rude I was, although it was her establishment that sent me home with inedible slop and charged me nearly $30 for it, plus my wasted time. Manager informed me to "never return." No need to fret over me or any of my family venturing onto this property ever again. Food was average to below average for Cajun that I have had in LA. We had a wide range of things including several Po-boys, a shrimp boil, etuffete, some appetizers. All was pretty average. The famous cornbread was good and interesting. The service was absolutely dismal. We were there for about an hour and never were offered water once. Our waitress disappeared for long enough periods of time. Then we had to ask for her to get our orders. I was shocked this place was so famous and lauded as a special stop. We were in Shreveport for one night and wanted some great Cajun food! We decided on Crawdaddy's Kitchen after reading reviews. We did the curbside order option, but no one answered the phone so you still had to go in to get it. We ordered many different dishes and I will say the hush puppies were amazing! The crawfish fettuccini Alfredo truly lacked taste. It also only had four pieces of crawfish on it. The chicken monica fettuccini has great flavor, but there was more chicken than pasta in this meal. Fish and Cajun fries were great! The children's shrimp was pretty pricy for what you get. My kids had three small shrimp and a whole container of unseasoned fries to go with. This is one of my favorites in NELA! The crawfish are always good (although definitely pricey) and the perfect level of spicy. Their fried catfish is so good! I also love their potatoes au gratin. Watch out for the Hurricane, it'll put you on your butt if you're not careful! I would not suggest having 2 in one sitting as they're pretty alcoholic. We love Crawdaddy's Kitchen! The food is fantastic and the service is excellent. We were driving from Florida trying to get to the restaurant before it closed. Unfortunately it was 5 minutes before closing and the kitchen was closed. However the staff was fantastic and quickly took me to the bar to see what they could do. The bar lady called the cook out from the kitchen and he told me what he could still prepare. My wife and I got a good cajun meal to go and it was still terrific! We always get the big seafood and my husband and I share it. The service has always been good fast and friendly. We have never waited long for a table and everytime we have been here the parking lot was packed . There are plenty of different sauces for anyone to get what they like on whatever they like it on. The food was exceptional. It was exactly what I hoped Cajun food would taste that far North from New Orleans. The parking lot was completely full and there was a 30min wait. The place is what one would expect from a Cajun restaurant, a little dirty, grungy and the fantastic smell of boiled seafood. There are no freals or fancy dining. Come in your drinking pants and get ready to have juices up to your elbows. I recommend asking to sit in the back porch area. I've been visiting Crawdaddy's for years (hence a review I made here in 2010). And I firmly believe in trying to address a problem directly. I recently emailed the restaurant (on June 1) the following...and never heard a word back: I am quite sad to be writing this email.  I cannot tell you how many years I have been coming to Crawdaddy's.  My parents visit your restaurant often (and dutifully ordered a lot of takeout during the pandemic to support your small business).  On May 26, I came back to Shreveport (my hometown) from NYC (where I live now) to see my parents for the first time since December 2019.  It had also been that long since I had Crawfish.  I was so excited. My parents are older.  Despite them being vaccinated (and the same for me), we are quite aware that the vaccination rate for adults in Louisiana is 35%.  Not wanting to risk becoming an asymptomatic carrier to someone else, they haven't eaten in a restaurant since March 2020.  And I have only eaten outside in attempts to mitigate any possible spread.  I sent your restaurant a Facebook message months ago asking if you had outdoor seating.  I was told that you did.  The person described it. We drove straight to Crawdaddy's upon my landing at the airport only to be told that the outdoor space doesn't open until 4:00 pm.  Fine.  We didn't know that. Yesterday, May 31, I sent a Facebook message to Crawdaddy's in the 3:00 pm hour, asking if the restaurant takes reservations, and that I was hoping to reserve an outdoor table.  I was told that you did (except for Fridays and Saturdays; yesterday was a Monday).  The person on your Facebook message asked for how many.  I told her that evening, two people, at 6:00 pm for outside.  The reply was that I shouldn't need to have a reservation and to just tell the hostess that I would like to sit on the patio.  (I am happy to share screenshots, but emailing via your website doesn't allow me to upload them.) I was meeting a friend, but came early since I know the restaurant is very crowded and popular.  When I said that I would like a table for two outside, the hostess flatly said that it was closed.  I pulled out my phone to show the Facebook conversation I had just three hours earlier.  She walked off and brought two other women there, claiming that one was the manager.  I showed them the messages.  Then the hostess walked off again.  I was under the (obviously comically wrong) impression that they were working to make something possible.  When she came back and I told her my party size and requested outside again, she simply remarked that it was closed.  Not once did she or the other two women apologize that the restaurant had given me incorrect information.  Nor did any of the three seem to really care about me as a customer or even attempt to offer some solution or (again), any apology. As I was leaving, I got the extra sting of seeing two employees taking their smoke breaks out on the patio. I did message the Crawdaddy's Facebook account as I was leaving, stating what had happened.  The message was read, but there was no response.  Quite a bit later, I got a reply with a non-committal apology, asking if I was still at the restaurant.  I replied that I was not and that my friend and I had already left.  I received no further reply. I know quite well that many people are not as cautious about COVID as I am (though they didn't live in the hell of nonstop sirens and refrigerated trucks outside of hospitals last March-June as I did in NYC).  That is their choice.  However, I am so disappointed that I went to great lengths to check and was told (clearly wrong) information.  And then, nobody cared, and nobody in the restaurant even muttered an apology. Last night was my penultimate night in Shreveport before I head back to NYC in the morning.  I had planned all week to return to Crawdaddy's.  Clearly, I didn't get crawfish there. read more
