In town visiting my mom and wanted her to branch out to other restaurants. I made a reservation on Yelp and it got confirmed pretty quickly. The day of our reservation, we had a few plans changed and I called the restaurant to get it pushed out a bit but the phone just kept ringing with no answer. We managed to make it to our original seating time and as we pulled up we saw how busy it was and now I understand why they didn't answer the phone! So glad I made a reservation but from listening, the wait time wasn't terrible - 15 to 20 minutes. I checked in and the hostess said they'd text me when my table was ready but instead she came and found me outside which was nice. We got seated and our waitress caught us off guard, we didn't realize she worked there. There was actually a few people dressed like customers and not employees. The atmosphere was loud and busy, but I could tell people around us were enjoying their food. We got the boudin balls (great), etouffe (yum!), and crawfish cornbread special (also great). My mom enjoyed the food, and that's all that matters to me. I liked her etouffe more than my cornbread but I could see why the cornbread is one of their most popular dishes! read more

Been going to this place for about 4 years now and always liked it but the last 5-6 times I've been the food has not been very good, shrimp over cooked and really hard to peel, the catfish which was one of my favorite go to for lunch just taste like it has been cooked for a while and warmed up. If you would have asked me how it was a year ago i would have gave it a 4 stars but not now for sure. I feel like something has changed in the last couple months at this restaurant and I'm not sure what it is. The pasta was a recommendation from our waiter; who was definitely ON POINT ! I actually never caught his name but he was a black with locs, super nice, super attentive, knew what he was talking about and we enjoyed every single one of his recommendations...he even almost talked us into the bread pudding ! We have been coming to Cradaddys for a while. We met the new owners when they just purchased the restaurant. They have made several changes and are really trying to spruce up the appearance and food choices. We really like the addition of getting Louisiana raised catfish with a small upcharge over thier "Fish plate". You can still get regular cut or thin and crispy. Before, 6 PC fish basket was 6 pcs regular or 12 pcs thin and crispy. On our last visit several changes have been made, New paint, table set up different, and no "Dat" sauce available. Minor changes and I can live with that. But the math does not add up to the way I do my math. Now 6 piece catfish plate made "Thin and crispy" is 9 pcs. Not the 12 I was accustomed to. Now because the quality and taste of getting fresh catfish was some what of a equalizer for the diminished serving I was expecting. I Questioned the waitress on the count and she said that's the way they are doing it now, I did not see the owners to be able to talk with them so I will take her word on it. This is just a personal peeve and will not stop me from continuing to patronize Crawdaddys. Change is good but sometimes it just takes getting used to it. read more

Yum-O! We vacationed in Gulf Shores and were driving back to Dallas, I had to stop somewhere in Louisiana to have Cajun food. We showed up on a Sunday at 2:00. They were pretty busy, but not on a wait. The walls were adorned with photos and drawings of Cajun food. We had a very friendly waitress, she explained some of the dishes to my family. I asked about her favorites. I started with red beans and rice. The red beans were in one bowl and the rice was served separately. I combined the two and allowed the rice to sop up the juice. The beans had a good amount of heat to them. It didn't need hot sauce added to it. It was perfect the way it was. My boys started with fried alligator. It was perfectly seasoned. The meat was tender and tasted fresh. My boys gobbled it down in minutes. My hubby had fried shrimp, again perfectly seasoned and tender shrimp. My son had fried frog legs. They were the most juicy frog legs I've ever had. They were also packed with flavor. I had the stuffed crab. It had too many fillers for my liking. The flavor was good, but I had a hard time tasting any crab. All in all it was a great meal! read more

I would first like to say I had a pretty incredible food experience here. Upon walking in we were greeted with a sign that stated "No broiled crawfish". This was a little disheartening and we almost left. I ordered the Grilled tilapia with crab and jambalaya. BF ordered stuffed crab. For Appitizer we got the crawfish cornbread and oysters. My fish was amazing! Seriously amazing! Something you would pay $40 for at a five star restaurant, and it's only $15 here. Cornbread was really good and super moist. Stuffed crab was fried to perfection with lightly seasoned crispy fries and hush puppies. Any dinner also comes with a side of coleslaw and pickled sweet and sour green tomatoes. Delicious! Here is my list of cons, if crawfish isn't in season they won't have it. Came around 6 today and they had ran out of étouffée. So make sure you have a backup plate order in case they don't have what you want. it's about a 15min drive from the casinos. Oysters were okay today. They weren't fresh like after being shucked. I believe they came from a bucket. they came on metal oyster shells. Interesting? Service here is really great. We enjoyed our waiter. Highly recommend stopping here if you are in Shreveport. I got the Garlic Shrimp and Potato Au Gratin, it was alright. The shrimp had lemon and onions in it and lacked on the garlic flavor. Pro was the shrimp were huge and they gave about 10. The potatoes au gratin was very tasty and a good size for it being an add on! Lastly I got beignets which oddly had a spicy taste to them, I think it was an accident with seasoning? All in all the food is ok. My fiancé got the crawfish etouffee and gator bites, he said it was good but nothing special. Our family of 10 ordered curbside pickup on a Sunday night. We ordered online--which was simple. The online ordering systems was easy to navigate and listed prices. However, the system could use a couple additions. I would've appreciated if the online ordering system also included descriptions of all menu items. I had to keep switching between the ordering screen and the menu, which was a nuisance. Also, once you select an item, their are a number of additional options that don't really make sense for someone who is a new customer. As it was a large pickup order, we expected to wait a bit longer than was quoted online. There were a couple hiccups once we unpacked the order at home. None of the containers were labeled so we spent the first 10 minutes trying to figure out which containers belonged to who. We also were missing an entree. However, we called the restaurant and were quickly given a refund, which should go through in a couple days. The food was FABULOUS!!! We ordered a lot of items on the menu and ALL were very good. We had the swamp fries, boudin balls, New Orleans shrimp, fried shrimp, jambalaya, gumbo, red beans & rice, bread pudding (DAYUM!), and beignets. Everyone in the family raves about the food. This place would TOTALLY have gotten 5 stars without the hiccups. We would love to return and try again! read more
