They could easily move those tables elsewhere as there is room throughout the restaurant. Luckily our server was cool about it and accommodated a move. First complaint is the use of their check in offer. I was visiting the area for the first time and saw good reviews for this as a cajun must stop. The setting is very tavern like. Plenty of self seating. I tried to use the check in offer of 3$ off but was denied bc I needed a print out of it. It kind of defeats the purpose of a check in offer and going green as Yelp has put it. I was trying to explain that I can't check in from home and then get the offer to print. The waitress was kind enough to ask her manager. I didn't mind as much that I couldn't use it but what was upsetting was the managers attitude about it. It was just mean, rude, and nasty. The fact is, I was in front of her and she still spoke that way. So, my beginning experience wasn't very nice. Now to the food! It was okay. Wasn't wow popping as I hopped for being an outer towner but it was okay. The portions were filling. I got the crawfish étouffée which was alright. I didn't get that Cajuns flare I was looking for. My party ordered the fried platter which wasn't different than any other fried platter you get at any restaurant. I did choose this location bc of the good reviews but I would rate this average. Okay, so first of all, the food was really, really good, but the highlight of the visit was our waiter Patrick. Patrick was a hoot, extremely personable, and gave us great advice on the menu. We were passing through town and this restaurant was highly recommended by hotel staff. Great call! Everyone was served complimentary cole slaw and pickled green tomatoes as an appetizer. I always judge a seafood place by its cole slaw, and theirs is excellent, so I was eagerly anticipating the entrees, which did not disappoint. I had the Shrimp Po Boy which contained crispy and seasoned shrimp. Very tasty. My wife had the Fried Shrimp which will be my call next time. This restaurant is located on Mansfield Road and seems to be packed all the time. Once we found parking, we went inside and there wasn't a table to be found at lunchtime. The waitress quickly took us to the outside patio (which to be honest I was not happy about, but I was so wrong!) The back patio is the quintessential Cajun outdoors feel and look! We could not have been happier! They were playing Cajun music and we sat at an open table that was more like a very long bench. When you think "Cajun experience" this is what you get! From the hanging lights to the alligator head, it was all there. They have an awesome wait staff that were quick to bring us drinks and to explain their menu. You know you're in Louisiana when you hear that Cajun accent and we knew we had arrived! It was apparent that they were very proud of the restaurant and boasted of its status as the best crawdad place in town. After searching the menu over we ordered a plate of Fried Alligator (HOLY COW!), the Crawfish Étouffé, The Combo Plate with two different types of fish and the Super Seafood Platter (BTW, All Fried....except the étouffé). We all tried each other's plates and I can assure you they were amazing! My personal favorite was the alligator and I would order that every time along with whatever else I order. It doesn't look that great from the outside when you first get there but don't let looks fool you. place is fantastic our waiter Brian was phenomenal he even sat down with my husband and Taught him the correct way to eat crawfish. We've had beignets in New Orleans but they were not good at all compared to the ones here they were so delicious. If you are in the area it is a need to stop by and eat. I would suggest though eating inside. Out in the back where we ate the spices are quite strong from them cooking out there. The wife and I came here for lunch it's our second time here. We ordered the crawfish bread, ettoufee, 2lb crawfish, and seafood platter. We both liked the crawfish bread, it was soft lightly sweet with a decent amount of crawfish in it. The crawfish had more flavor the last time we came. The seafood platter was good except for the stuffed crab and shrimp, both were full of breading and immitation crabmeat. The ettoufee tasted like a buttery roux with no crawfish essence at all. I always come here when I want crawfish and crawfish only. Their other foods are very mediocre. My only complaint about the crawfish is that sometimes the seasoning is not consistent. There were times when my crawfish was way too salty and I have had to send it back to the kitchen. Also their waiters are a hit or miss. Once I had a waiter that was rude the entire service. He was only kind to us when it was time to tip him. Another time, I had a lady that was friendly the whole way. I guess they can tell I'm not from here because the ones I spoke with didn't want anything to do with me. I placed an order to go and waited outside for about 30 minutes before receiving my order. Since I've never had a Beignet I ordered those which came in an order of 5 well I wish I got to taste them because they weren't even inside my order I received two bread buddings instead which I ordered only 1 the bread was soggy it was just horrible very strong nutmeg taste and the sauce just reminded me of clam chowder.
