Just had a late lunch and our server Meraie was great! She suggested the appetizer crawfish flight and it did not disappoint!

Crawfish cafe is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Houston for seafood! The service is also great, waiters and waitresses are always friendly and food is always amazing! For the first time on this visit I tried the New Orlean's BBQ Shrimp which isn't really my favorite, I don't think I would get it again. The shrimp is good but I did not like the flavor of the sauce. The sauce kind of reminded me of an after taste of having tamarind flavored seafood with a mix of Smokey to it. I do usually get shrimp but my go to flavor is the mix, which is a combination of Cajun, lemon pepper, and garlic better. The oysters are a must when I go here and if they weren't so expensive I would get at least 3 dozen lol. I tried half dozen of the Vietnamese style oysters which are the scallion oil grilled oysters as well as a half dozen of the chargrilled oysters... 10/10! My favorite are the chargrilled oysters. Another one of my go items is the crawfish. I get the mix flavor with the mild spice level. I love the amount of garlic that is in the mix, it's a chefs kiss. I do prefer only eating the crawfish when they have it live and not frozen so anytime it's season I am there! Lastly I tried for the first time the beignets with a scoop of ice cream. Sadly I was not a fan and the reason being is that I like when beignets are very light on the inside, basically just an air pocket and not too doughy, but these were too think for my liking. I ended up eating one out of the four, my girlfriend ate one, and then we ate the ice cream together.. we didn't finish the last two. Still overall a great place to try if you have never been, I would recommend to give them a try! read more

The food was absolutely delicious. I got 1 pound of coco loco crawfish and 1 pound of their thai basil. Both were so flavorful and the size of the crawfish were big. I also tried 1 piece of catfish and that too was delicious. The service was a tad slow. My crawfish got delivered before my water. The restaurant itself is very clean. This is my second time coming and they didn't disappoint. Let me say from the moment I entered the doors I was greeted bye 2 beautiful young ladies Lauren, was so sweet she took the time to explain the different dishes I had questions about while not making me feel as if I asking to many questions. Then Jada step up and immediately keep the vibe going. If you are looking for a place that actually appreciates your presence this the place. In all of that I haven't gotten to the food it on point 10 out 10. The price point is definitely affordable. read more

Between a 3 and 4-star experience -- here's why: The good: Loved the customizable menu and variety. One of the cleanest crawfish places we've been to with plenty of space, and our host was attentive. Crawfish and the food were delicious. Why we leaned toward 3 stars for a moment: -Only one oyster in the sampler was worth a reorder -Sausage portions felt small for the price -Open kitchen is great, but we saw a bit too much -- staff flirting (playfully stabbing, poking, laughing loudest in the room, etc), which became a little bit distracting. I absolutely understand working with coworkers that you enjoy working with as it makes the day go by faster and work more enjoyable. In fact, I can see and appreciate how the staff got along with each other, however due to it, we also had trouble flagging someone for new gloves when ours ripped/wanting to order more. -No larger glove sizes offered -One of the servers that was flirting seemed reluctant when called away by the host since she rolled her eyes-- not sure if it was not wanting to stop her conversation with the person she was playfully talking to, not wanting to wait, but something that could be misread at the time by someone around was that the table she was headed to was POC. Wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt but still wanted to mention it as the eye roll happened right after being called by the host and heading that direction. We were in the mood for crawfish and decided to stop by. The food was excellent, great flavor and hot! What was even better was the service. Starting with crawfish empanadas, crawfish egg rolls, cracklings & queso, as well as others, you'll have enough to knock your socks off. Then you move on to the main courses, pick your favorite book (shrimp, crawfish, crabs, etc), add your favorite sauce (tip, if you like spice get it extra spicy, otherwise you'll get just the favor without the heat, but the flavor is great), their smack packs are good, also have various platters. The boudin balls were very enjoyable and had the perfect amount of crisp to balance with the filling. The oysters were alright, not bad but not amazing either. The Crawfish Pack came with a generous amount of crawfish and food. However I felt like the flavor was all a little underwhelming? I wasn't a huge fan of the Cajun rice either. Wow! Some of the best food around in Northwest Houston, absolutely delicious, and the price is super reasonable. Everyone should be lining up at this place. I'm not kidding, this is seriously delicious! So, Mr. Picky has been whining about the fact that he had not found a good fried shrimp place. Well we did today when we made our first visit to the Crawfish Café. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I really liked the feeling of the place. It's not fancy, and who cares as long as the food is wonderful, which it is. The food: the 12-count fried shrimp platter was $12.99 and an excellent value. The fried shrimp was great, and we both loved their version of cocktail sauce. The potato salad was delicious and it didn't smell or taste like a mayonnaise mess. A nice surprise was the garlic noodles and we will definitely order those again on the next visit. Trust me, we will be back, often, because this is a wonderful tasting meal for a great price and, well, Mr. Picky is happy which is always a good thing! :-) read more

Soon as I walked in, I was automatically sat down for a party of six after that. Nothing went good ordered our drinks never got asked for refills the whole time there ordered calamari as an appetizer never received it also ordered 8 pounds of crawfish 3 pounds of it that was a different flavor from the others came out cold. Yes they were juicy because they were sitting in a bag, but every crawfish was cold at the crack like this bag has been sitting on the counter. We asked for gloves and bibs never got them at all. This is my 3rd or 4th time and I can't get enough of the okra. I love that they have multiple televisions so this will be a great place during football season. The staff is always great and quick. Ambiance: We visited the other day after church. I've passed by both locations before,but hadn't had the time to stop in and thought this would be the perfect time. After walking in I noticed the establishment is very clean and the staff is very interactive. (Side note: I am from Louisiana so I went in with the mindset that this wouldn't be like back home, to give them a fair shake.) Order: Crawfish mini empanadas: The crawfish empanadas were so good. They did really well with the base within and the sauce was mixed well. I'd definitely order it again. Smack Pack XL: I wanted a Cajun rice and a good bowl of seafood so I went with the XL. The only difference between this bowl and the regular is them adding a cluster making the dish $40. To me that is insane and highway robbery. I get that prices have gone up for food items and you have to make a profit from selling them but there's no way a cluster is $20 by itself when other locations are selling them for cheaper, and the meat within its shell is better (not saying the cluster is bad tasting; but other Houston locations have better and cheaper clusters). The Cajun rice wasn't really Cajun and the smack sauce could not save it. Everything else in the dish was good. Honestly I would not recommend this dish die to the price and flavors. Probably should try something else on the menu. Bird Pack: My husband chose the bird back and substituted the rice for noodles. He was not a fan of the rice either and believe substituting the rice for noodles was for the best.The chicken was seasoned pretty well however the flavours didn't mesh well for the overall dish and was kind of off putting. Lemonade: This is a regular lemonade, I enjoyed it. It wasn't too sweet and it wasn't bitter either. Customer service: Our waitress was very nice and attentive. Overall experience: I wouldn't spend the money I spent Sunday ever again, and while there were a few things I liked, I wouldn't come back. I'd opt to go to other local locations.
