Road tripping and decided to stop by Kent, WA to try this place out! First off, ambience was welcoming, clean and safe, and service was awesome at inputting suggestions when asking about the sauces I should get for my crawfish. They also provided a bib and gloves. I was going to go for the Louisiana Boil, but if you're going for that direction, go to Louisiana for that haha. The waitress suggested to go with the House Special Sauce (Garlic+butter+seasoning) instead since it was the most popular especially with the special seasoning. I'm so glad she suggested it, cause wow it was perfectly savory, buttery, fragrant with the insane-good amount of chopped garlic, and they put a sufficient amount of spice for that perfect kick. I chose a medium spice level which they did well since it wasn't too painful to eat but gave enough kick with the sauce. I was pretty proud of myself since my spice tolerance had been weak of late recently haha. They put enough sauce as well to dip/dunk your food in. Each pound of seafood you choose, you also get one potato and corn with the boil which I thought was awesome. The raw oysters were definitely fresh, and had a sweet/salty start in the first bite then ended with a briny and umami taste. It met my seafood desires and I wish I got more! As for the PO BOY soft-shell crab sandwich, the bread reminded me of Vietnamese loaf breads which made it so crisp and went well with the fried crab. So good. We were super excited to try this place but were surprised and disappointed that they were not serving crawfish anymore for the day (due to the size of the crawfish being too small). So we ended up ordering shrimp egg rolls, 2 #3 combo (one with Cajun sauce and one with the House Special sauce spice level hot- includes a cluster of snow crab, a pound of shrimp, corn and potatoes), and a side of white rice. There are napkins, bibs and gloves to help as well. The shrimp egg rolls were crispy and delicious. The combo was also good but definitely not hot and spicy at all like we ordered (btw I loveee spicy food). I was at their other location in Puyallup and for me I feel like the service and food is great on both locations. Seafood tasted fresh and didn't have any bad smells. Being from New Orleans, OMG! This place was great. They have intact crabs - an intact crab means you have the whole crab with all the fat loveliness inside the shell body. I never had Dungeness crab intact, this is my new favorite, better than blue crab. Sorry no photos because I was in a trance of food bliss. I LOVE this place! The flavor of the sauces are UNREAL! We got the whole ass...I forgot what it was, but it was essentially the house sauce for both the seafood and the wings and it was fucking fire! I also got a side of extra spicy sauce (15*), just to see how spicy was their 15* (they go up to 25). I'm definitely getting 25* next time! I think on my recent family trip to Seattle, this place stands above the rest in terms of most memorable meal overall. It's not everyday that you get to eat through the crustacean kingdom and do it in a very primal way with your hands and a bib. If you have enough people, combo 9 is the way to go. It fed our family of four + 1 vegetarian pretty well if you add some extra corn and potato. Delectable snow crab, crawfish, mussels, shrimp, clams and jumbo scallops are all cooked to perfection in awesome house special sauce, though personally I think the scallops are the best. We chose for medium spicy, which wasn't that hot honestly but its pleasant heat flavor without being overwhelming. I also recommend getting some of the Vietnamese baguettes to dip into the broth - its that good. I would also do a double dip with your seafood after you peel it to imbue it with extra flavor. I give this place 1/5 stars, the food was great but service not so much. We got our food but not our sides that we asked for. We asked and waited for it to come within 15 mins after we got our food, it was only rice and bread that we asked for. All the employees were just standing at the register, while other people haven't gotten their orders taken. We saw one couple who got seated but waited to get their orders taken but 10 mins gone by, no one came and they took off. ALSO please make sure you look at your bill. They over charged! My bill was $43 subtotal, but with tax it was like $4 but somehow my total was $53 and I haven't even tipped yet. She kept on sayin that's the total but it didn't add up. i got charger like $5 extra but it wasn't just me who got over charge, it was my whole table as well. Getting charger $10-$15 extra. They don't heat the restaurant. It's 54 inside here. Everyone eating has scarfs and hats on. The staff is bundled up like they are on a ski vacation. Too cheap to run the heat what else do they skimp on. Food is decent but the staff is always too busy talking to each other to give good service. Right now 3 of 5 working are on their phones ignoring everyone. If you dress for subzero temps this is the place for you. Took a trip to Seattle today and we stopped here for lunch due to the reviews. Extremely disappointed - we spent right under $120 for the three of us to eat here and it was sooooo NOT WORTH IT. The seasoning was not good - the sauce doesn't even stick to the seafood. I ordered the Combo #3 (right under $40) for snow crab, shrimp, potatoes and corn and I added sausages. I ordered the Strawberry Lemonade ($5.99 Refill) and although they stated it's fresher lemonade. It definitely did not taste like it. It tasted syrupy! The waitress did take it away and gave me a Sierra Mist because it wasn't good! We did order Cajun fries and I swear that's the only thing that had seasoning compared to anything else we ordered. The employees: there were maybe 3 ladies that ran the place, which each table had a minimum of 4 people. They need to up their staff! It took awhile before we even got our drinks and we got our appetizers the same time as our main entrees. I went to Boiling Crawfish when I was in the Kent area on a Thursday night with a few friends. It was not busy - actually half the restaurant was empty (and it's a BIG restaurant) and very no frills. Don't expect this to be a fancy place, but they have everything you need for a good time and good eats. No big deal getting a table and our orders in, their menu is very self-explanatory and there's a lot of choices but everyone here seems to know what they want before they even enter. All 3 of us ordered their signature seafood combos and sauces but next time I'd actually like to try their fries or other seafood dishes. I got the second combo which was a pound of shrimp and mussels with 2 corn and 2 potatoes. I also can't handle spice very well so I got the special sauce with 0 spicy level. The food comes out pretty promptly with a nice bowl for you to either open up or empty our your shells. If you've ever been to Crab Pot or Boiling Crab or Captain's Boil or any of those places... think that but no frills and not as decorated or fancy AND cheaper! I definitely think the seasoning of the sauce and everything was ON POINT! Very delicious and large shrimp/mussels. The seafood was fresh and it was piping hot when you get it. They give you gloves to put on and a bib as well. The only downside was that I didn't think the gloves were protective enough and you really smell after you leave... Overall, I thought the food was delicious and you get exactly what you pay for. I take off one star because the place is just... quite gloomy and not that pretty to look at. The wait staff also barely come by and when I was looking for gloves, I basically served myself - plus no refills on water?? I also removed another star for the location and just how difficult it is to get to. I don't live in the area so I guess it's not fair, but I also don't think I'd drive out of my way to go. For less than $30/meal before tax and tip, it's not bad with the amount of food you get but would I go back? Debatable... You certainly get what you pay for. read more

The food was amazing but the service was extremely extensive. The servers sat in the front the whole time as I waited for 20min for my water, then an additional 15min for my sauce. I then asked for an inconvenience discount, and they quoted, "my boss isn't here so I cannot help you" .. this was so unfortunate because after the second time, the waited messed up the bill twice and is refusing to help the inconvenience. Tried this place for the first time and man it hit the spot. The only thing is the sauce tasted a little sour. I'm not sure what they put in it, but I could do without the sour tang. I have been coming to this location for about 3 years now and realized I have never left a review. My go to is Combo #3, 3 stars, Cajun seasoning. Combo #3 includes shrimp (head on), snow crab legs, corn and potatoes. Whether I am eating at the restaurant or picking up a to go order, I have not been disappointed. The flavor is there and you get a good amount for your dollar. Customer service is A1 and there is usually ALWAYS a good playlist going while you enjoy your food. Besides all things seafood, they also have noodles, rice, chicken wings, and a long list of sides and add ons. You can chose from 5 different sauces, House sauce, Lemon Pepper, Cajun, Garlic & Butter, and Original Louisiana Boil, and 5 levels of heat. The house sauce is kind of a mixture of Louisiana boil & Vietnamese style garlic, butter, and pepper. Boiling Crawfish is a mom & pop restaurant run by a Vietnamese family, service was cordial, fast, and prices are extremely reasonable for what you get.
