When you enter the restaurant you are seated at the table, then a large sheet of paper ( freezer or butcher paper ) that is coded with wax is laid across the entire table. Since we ordered a " boil" We were given a plastic apron bib and disposable gloves. so that you won't get all your clothes messed up, and leisurely eat your food with your hands. When you eat you can either toss the shells in the bucket or just leave it on the table that is covered with the paper. This is definitely NOT a "first date" dinner restaurant cause it is very messy and it is hard to delicately eat your food. There are also several large TVs on so you can watch sporting events We Ordered a "Boil" with crawfish, sausage, corn, potatoes, veggies, shrimp, clams and muscles. Lots of options. You decide what you want to have in your "boil". All seafood is only sold in 1 lb increments. The posted "market price" for each type of seafood is posted on the board. Then you can order sides to be included in your boil, like various kinds of sausages, variety of veggies, eg., potatoes, corn on the Cobb, string beans, broccoli etc. then you pick your sauce that you want your items cooked in. There are about 5 different kinds, then you tell the server what level of spicy you prefer. If you don't want to create your own boil you can order some standard combos that are well explained on the menu. Portions are large, two of us could not finish what we ordered! So we can have more crawfish for lunch tomorrow. I will probably make some pasta to add to the delicious sauce. There are a big variety of sides you can order too like, French fries, sweet potato fries, coleslaw, bread, etc They had a big variety, if you choose not to have the "boil", there are all kinds of fried seafood you can order including "gater" This was our first time here, and I really liked the taste of the food. The shrimp was 20/23 pieces per pound, so big and fresh. The potatoes were so creamy and delicious. Corn on the Cobb was sweet, Server was very nice and attentive. I would have given this restaurant 5 stars, but while we were there 3 people came in and they were so loud and noisy, really obnoxiously loud, this went on for a good while. When they finally left another group came in and were also very loud. The server came over to apologize for the disruptions after the first group left. The servers were fine, food was decent (rice looked old and slightly off color) And we found a metal wire fused into the fried pickles. Ummmm... When we told the first server she didn't seem phased and just walked off, leaving it there. When we told the second server she also didn't seem to be that concerned that we could have consumed that and torn our throats. It was oh we will tell the cooks as she took it away. No major apologies or offer of a discount. Just oh well. Anywhoo, if you go: bring your sanitizer, don't sit close to the walls, be ready to battle the sticky floor, and double check for any choking hazards. I've been here once before the pandemic & had 0 complaints. This time around was the worst boil I've had. The mussels were absolutely disgusting & most of them were not cooked. Most of the clams were empty & the crab was salty. They also added vegetables which I never asked for. The flavor was disgusting & not pleasing at all. Disappointed. The calamari rings were delightful & so were the oyster shooters! They have a 20% gratuity for mediocre service. Our server rushed us while ordering & it felt like she had a an attitude. Came to this place to give it a try because I love boiling crawfish. A lot of the stuff we ordered they didn't have. But it was okay we compromised and tried other things. I think 80 bucks for a lb of king crab legs is a little too much. We got the house blend at the spiciest level. Flavoring is okay. I think a little too bland for me. Decided to try this spot as i yelped it. We Lfyt there and there was no wait which is good on Saturday. And we got the big east house special sauce with (1) sausage as well. I was really disappointed in the sauce it was not the great. I also got the calamari tentacles which was okay but a lot for the price i think.. The sauce was very disappointing. It reminded me of Boiling Crab in the San Jose which i do not like. My boyfriend ordered butterfly shrimp and cajun fries which he almost killed so it must of been good. Never had an issue as a group, but came here on a date and ran into service hell. 20min to take an order. Food wait was a normal wait. Another ~20min after our food arrived before they came back to us to realize we had 0 utensils or napkins/paper towels.... and it was 7-10min after that realization that we actually got the utensils. These folks weren't even that busy; only 3 active tables. PS. If your bill comes to $99.60 like mine they will tell you to kick rocks if you go to spin their "Win-A-Meal" wheel. My absolute favorite restaurant! Crawfish King features delicious seafood boils, main dishes, and desserts. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The restaurant is laid back and casual. There are TV's and projectors all around, usually basketball, Seahawks games, baseball. Once you're seated, someone will come around and lay down white paper to keep the tables clean for the messiness that's about to ensue. My boyfriend and I usually share 2 pounds of shrimp, a mini combo, baguette, and fresh cut fries (make sure you check in on Yelp for free fries!) - and it's more than enough to fill us up and take home the extras. They also serve ice cream macarons which are delicious! We always get the Big Easy House Special sauce and 3 stars, and it's the perfect blend of garlic and spiciness! The menu is pretty big but the staff are always so excited to help you navigate the menu. Seafood items that go into the boil are charged by pound, and the market price per pound is at the front of the building and on a post. The service here is so wonderful! Staff are very attentive and check in often to make sure everything is refilled. We've been going here for years and most of the staff we recognize. The quality and prices here are not anywhere close to reasonable. They have really lost their way. The seafood was all overboiled so much that it was mushy and not palatable. Also, there were so many dead crawfish and mussels in our kayak that it was not enjoyable. Also, most of the shells were cracked. We also ordered 1 lb of king crab but they only delivered 1 piece. During the night, they did not come and refill drinks either. The total bill was over $170 and included 20% gratuity. Don't go here. Visiting from the south, so I know a thing or two about crawfish and this was very disappointing. Ordered 1lb crawfish in the king flavor and 1lb of shrimp with the all meat. It's like they cook the shrimp and crawfish in normal water then add the sauce once it's done. The bugs( crawfish) weren't juicy and I like to suck the head for that extra flavor and it just wasn't cutting it. Ordered wings now those were popping. We ended up leaving half of the food there because there was no point in eating unflavored food. And on top of that they automatically add 20% gratuity when service was bullshit. I was craving crawfish boil and didn't want to ever go back to Crawfish House in White Center again (due to poor service, high prices, and chances of getting stabbed), so I decided to order Crawfish King from UberEATS. My ordered arrived pretty fast (within 40 min) but ugh the food was NOT good. --Rajun Cajun seasoning was a joke. It's literally butter and salty ass paprika oil. I was expecting some kind of spice rub none of that! --Crawfish was not fresh!! 1/3 of the heads I sucked had nothing in it. 1/3 had the salty-ass sauce. A quarter of them tasted rotten like gutter/sewer and I had to spit it out. All of the crawfish had a dark poop vein on the back, so they were not the cleanest. I get that crawfish live in muddy water but I've definitely had bigger and cleaner crawfish. Whenever Crawfish King sources their crawfish, it's not good. --The clams were fresh but again drenched in the nasty salty Cajun sauce it's not worth it. Food just doesn't taste good here!! This was my second time coming here for Seattle Restaurant Week! Last year, my friend and I each got the crab boil option but this year I opted for the shrimp boil. Both years we've ordered the crème brûlée for dessert and it really is the perfect palate cleanser (yes, I just called crème brûlée a palate cleanser!) after a messy, glorious seafood boil. I will say I liked the crab boil slightly better. My reasoning? Don't really have any, just personal preference and it feels a bit more like an occasion to have crab I guess? The sweet tea cocktail is delish and the Long Island-style cocktail is also yummy! We both liked our appetizers (jambalaya and étouffée) as well. Starting with the positives, the service was laudably good. Everyone was attentive and polite and my water was always full. The mussels, clams and veggies were also great. The reason we'll never come back is the crawfish. The name Crawfish King should be changed to Crawfish Pauper. Every crawfish we had in our bag was mealy, smelly, and was small to the point where it could easily fit on top of a penny. My suspicion is that the crawfish were frozen, thawed, and then refrozen multiple times. That would explain the oddly crumbly texture and hollow feel to the shells. Needless to say, we left all of the crawfish in our Digger's bucket and emphatically said no to a takeout container. Again, servers were amazing and they're not to blame. I came in on Mardi Gras craving some Cajun food. I got the lobster Po' Boy and my friend went with the fried crawfish. Each came with two sides so we diversified and got 4 different things. Lobster Po' Boy: I was skeptical at first, how much lobster can you possibly get for that price? Apparently a lot. Even though it was definitely frozen at one point, they still managed to absolutely STUFF the sandwich with large pieces of soft, tender, subtly-flavored shellfish. The bread was soft and full of lettuce, pickles, and tartar sauce. I thought it was great, surprisingly large, flavorful and meaty. Hot sauce options were plentiful and a recommended part of the sandwich experience. Fried Crawfish: Less keen on these. They were dry and very heavily breaded, like overdone popcorn shrimp. Kind of lacking in flavor. Sides: Jambalaya, Crawifish Etoufee, Shrimp Creole, Gumbo: all were pretty good, in that order. Over the years I've come to accept that the majority of time you get these dishes anywhere, they are going to be some degree less flavorful than their bright colors and exciting ingredient lists would suggest. We also got cajun fries (spicy and FREE through the Yelp check-in deal) and big easy rice (can't believe I'm typing this phrase, but too much garlic). Prices are reasonable for what you get, especially considering the amount of lobster on my huge Po' Boy, which ran me $18 including two generous sides. A great, fun place to eat in a less formal setting. You can order your mix of seafood. I think we ordered crabs, crawfish, shrimps and sausages, corn, carrots, potatoes in our mix and it was quite satisfying with the variety that we have picked. You can choose the level of spiciness and with level 3, you can definitely feel some heat (it wasn't too bad for a person who's used to eating spicy food like me, but if you aren't familiar with spicy food, I'd order anything less than level 3 of spiciness). I thought it was a fun, enjoyable meal...especially if you go with a lot of people, you definitely can try to eat a lot of things :) The restaurant looks sort of empty, especially on weekdays lunch time (we were pretty much the only party there). Nevertheless, we had an enjoyable time there. We also got some macarons...they were ok..nothing to rave about. Wow, the 3 spice star level was hot! Hot in a good way, but I was on the verge of breaking out into a sweat the entire time. Obviously, the meal is a messy ordeal, but with the gloves and the bib, you'll leave as clean as you came in. My favorite part of the combo boil was the mussels- they were plump, juicy, and super flavorful (the seasoning was so good! garlicky and the right amount of salty). Next time, rather than the combo, I'll opt for more mussels with shrimp and crawfish, and skip the clams. We got a side of waffle fries, and I'm so glad we did.
